Fantastic sushi spot. Came for the happy hour & it made our bellies happy! Very good & fresh sushi. The waitress, who told us to call her mama, was so sweet, we loved her! I would definitely come back here again. They had a great variety of sushi & rolls here

Google
I love this Japanese Restaurant. The taste is superb and the service is quick. Both days we went there we really enjoyed it.Both days I have to have a take out of my left-over from my bento meal because their serving is really generous. It's a must to visit this when you're in Las Vegas,NV. They've been around for a long time so definitely a good one to add to your bucket list of restaurants to visit.

Google
Each time I come to this restaurant I find myself loving it even more than the last. From the attention that is paid to the quality of the food to the friendly service of the staff. The passion of the chefs is shown through the tasty and presentable sushi they deliver. Absolutely the BEST sushi spot I have ever been to. At this point, I do not even bother going anywhere else but here because nothing compares. A customer for life. Thanks guys.

Google
It was late dinner and place was empty upon my arrival. Later few people came in. They served happy hour menu. I ordered simple Philadelphia roll and miso soup with monkey brain. I would give this place 4 stars.

Google
It’s unfortunate, food is decent but expensive and always a long wait for to go orders 1 hr wait plus even they not busy and not the greatest service. Sushi hiro is much better service and food even if it is much more expensive then Hokkaido!

Google
Great food and service. Small part of Japan. Really feel authentic vibes. Friendly and warm atmosphere. Thank you for reminding me my time in your country. Definitely will be back to try more on your menu.

Google
**Great Sushi Spot with a Friendly Vibe!** Absolutely love this place! The staff are super welcoming and the sushi is top-notch—every bite is delicious. While they do have management, it can be a bit tricky to get issues addressed promptly. That said, the positive atmosphere and quality food make it worth a visit!

Google
Place is very good - no all you can eat (in case you were going for that). Got full off of 4 rolls and some Gyoza split with my wife. Quite good. Some thick cuts. I usually prefer thinner and smaller cuts, but it makes for better value. Laid back, and if you come after 9pm, it is happy hour.

Yelp
Took my friend to one of my hole in the wall spots in town. My parents and I have been coming here for awhile. She wanted sushi and I was craving a good Japanese experience. Muchi muchi roll - shrimp tempura with a slice of tuna and coleslaw type situation that is phenomenal Dark horse roll - Hawaiian roll - chef Jay hooked it up with blue fin tuna on top for the weekly special Double hamachi - A few other rolls that I forgot. Special roll b/c the chef love us Drank some of imported Japanese beer with chef Jay. Had a few appetizers, needless to say it hugged my belly lol Definitely going on the blog.

Yelp
My husband had been craving some sushi, so we stopped at Hokaido. Our server was nice and friendly. I'm so happy Im Vegetarian/ Vegan, by the time we got home (10 min drive), my husband had an upset stomach and the runs. Pretty sure we won't be back.

Yelp
This place used to be a go-to sushi restaurant for my husband and I; but these last 2 visits made us realize that this is the last straw in being frequent customers to them. The food is good, I'll give them that. However, their customer service has took a turn for the worst. In the 2nd to the last visit, my husband and I dined in. The two waitresses working at the time got into a screaming argument with each other about one having to come in because the other didn't feel well. My husband and I (and I'm sure the other customers) were left unattended and caught up in an awkward situation. On our last supposed visit, my husband and I tried to call in an order. The phone was ringing excessively. Eventually someone answered. We informed them we wanted to do a pick up order. The person responded "ok, one moment." And we were left on hold for 15 min hearing the staff speak to one another. Tried to call again and the phone just kept ringing and ringing. That, in turn, was the final straw for us. This restaurant has wonderful potential. Hopefully their customer service doesn't run the business downhill.

Yelp
A nice size restaurant with plenty of seating. We arrived around 1pm on a Sunday and we were then only ones there. We sat at the sushi bar and we were greeted right away and were told we can order when ready. We got a small crab app/salad with our serving plate. Everything we ordered was delicious. The wish was fresh and it was a good portion. The salmon kama was also cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed the place and would come back when I'm eating light. It's so hard to pay per roll when there are so many great AYCE places.

Yelp
Mood: Sushi is always a good choice. My second time getting take here (will dine in soon). They are also one of few with a dine in Happy Hour! Can't beat that right? NO! The space is always clean when I come to pick up my food and such a friendly staff from the hostess to the chefs. Time to get to the Sushi! Bikini Roll 8/10: great flavors and fresh salmon and vegetables insides. Love my ass roll 7/10: enjoyed it but the topping was very bland. Japanese lasagna Roll 10/10: love a baked roll. So much sauce and flavor that definitely doesn't even taste like sushi sometimes. Red Mountain Roll 6/10: a little too much crispy topping for my liking but has decent flavor. Think can be a little more mild to spicy taste or even a sauce portion. Grand Canyon Roll 10/10: great sauce, size, and toppings. Will fill you up with flavor and taste. The food is really good and the Wasabi portion is just right if you're a mixer with soy sauce like me. The side of sauces they provide are too their too.

Yelp
Authentic Japanese food here. Skip the table, seat at the bar and ask to be served as the chef desire. These guys are pro, they are going to ask you if you allergic to anything and if you have preference for a particular fish. Be ready to be amazed.

Yelp
Lunch spot that is a must. Located in a strip mall for 10+ years. Service is always quick. Place is pretty clean. The sushi is always fresh and tastes fantastic. They have a happy hour (eat in only) 2-5 M-F with some real good deals. Good locals spot.

Yelp
Introduce by friend about this place. We tried the bento lunch box....pretty decent food quality and quantity. Service wise is alright, quick and good for lunch time ( that day not busy ). Ambiance is pretty decent too. They have sushi bar or tables or cubicle booth.
google avatar

Yelp
A little slow but you can't rush good sushi. I came here for lunch and had the negri and spicy tuna combination. It came with salad and miso soup. The quality was very good. The negri came with shrimp, salmon, yellowtail, octopus and a white fish. The octopus was surprisingly good and fairly tender. The spicy tuna roll was very good and fresh. I loved that it did not have all the crunchy filler like most places.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday night with a party of 11. It def took a while for our food to come out. I ordered a bento with tempura teriyaki chicken but the chicken was on the dry side. Their serving for their chicken katsu was enough for 3 adults. The dark horse roll was pretty good. I really wanted to try their dynamite but we had way too much food already. My hubs had their katsu curry which he enjoyed. One of my kids ordered their saimin with chicken but the broth tasted more like vegetable broth than anything. All staff were friendly and on point and got the orders correct for all of us. They are open on Christmas Day, so I may be going back to try that dynamite

Yelp
My initial reaction was a solid 2 stars. The uniqueness of the menu brought it up a notch. I've driven by this place a million times and I wanted to try someplace new, so for my initial visit I decided to order via their website for take out. 'Seemed harmless at the time, but the earliest pick up time for 2 sushi rolls was a 48 minute wait. At 3:30 in the afternoon, that seemed a bit excessive, but I equated that to mean it's popular and worth the wait, right? Well, maybe. After putzing around waiting for my 48 minute lunch, I arrived surprised to find that the place was almost completely empty. After being greeted by the hostess, she looked completely dumbfounded when I told her that I was there to pick up my online order. As she ran back to the chef it became apparent to me that they hadn't checked their online orders and instead of owning their error, she pretended that it's still being prepared and will be only a few more minutes. 15 more minutes and I'm finally on my way home. My two sushi rolls were good, but not 1 hour good. I won't be back. Tip: if you decide to go, skip the online ordering and go during happy hour. The tempura asparagus roll is delicious!

Yelp
I've been here before and ordered to go , I thought dining in would be better. Darn, there was no option of AYCE, which was disappointing. Good start, as it was not that busy. Unfortunately , once we got our food - beef soup, bento box( I did ask if they can sub a special roll for an additional price, but they declined) and the hot scream roll, you have to ask for a bowl or a refresh for water. The flavor of the rolls were just so, so , especially the hot scream baked roll with white fish. I felt it didn't taste baked , I couldn't finish. The bento box was delicious as well as the tempura. We asked for plastic bags to split our to-go order , just got the clear supermarket produce bag. The staff was trying to clear our dishes but we were not finished putting the food in the containers . This was a grim visit. I'll maybe get food to go again next time.

Yelp
I haven't been in a while but been meaning to go back soon. I trust this place to have good quality

Yelp
This place has a few different rolls unique to this restaurant. Great variety. From Sushi, Udon, Poke bowls, and other great options. We had rolls, a poke bowl and an appetizer. All tasted freshly made. Definitely will return to try more items off their menu. Left super full.

Yelp
Today is the second time my husband and I had our late lunch here. Everything we ordered were so fresh and delicious. Salmon skin Salad was crunchy and the salad were fresh the dressing was the best. Agedashi tofu, Hamachi Usuzukuri was incredible, the platters of sushi and sashimi combo were beautiful and fresh, must always have some fried octopus tentacles because they were delicious! We also had some pricey oysters. Service was good. There are plenty of parking and the seats were comfortable.

Yelp
This is now our favorite sushi spot. The staff is so friendly. The happy hour is amazing. During happy hour you can get half rolls. Whips her is great for trying different kinds of rolls. I love the garlic tuna. My husband loves the Alaska roll. I definitely recommend the mango roll and the double salmon.

Yelp
Small family owned restaurant with Excellent food, service and friendly staff. It is my go-to for Japanese food.

Yelp
Dined here on a week night, not wanting to cook, for we were tired from our road trip. We have been dining here for many years, before we became home owners, close to the restaurant. We sat at the sushi bar & ordered the special nigiris: Blue fin tuna; Modai; toro, and Chutoro - all of the fish were fresh, tasty, with a hint of truffle oil atop. We also ordered some of the deep-fried favs - mixed tempura & baby octopus, both apps were fresh & delicious! I guess we were pretty hungry, so couldn't leave without a few rolls. i.e., Marilyn Monroe, and spicy yellowtail hand roll. Everything tasted amazing, and all the staffs were friendly. I am elated that Hokaido is so close to our house, and will return in the future.

Yelp
Alaskan salmon is highly recommended. Everybody is so nice and friendly. Go during happy hour.

Yelp
Good sushi. Fish is always fresh. One of my favorite places to go for sushi. Can usually get a table right away or sit at the sushi bar. They could use more of a drink menu. Not the place for fun drinks.

Yelp
I can't believe I have not made my review yet on this place since I've been going here for years!!! This is my secret happy place, I always walk in and always greeted with happy smile servers. Place is inside the plaza which offers plenty parking spaces. I come and sit at the bar, watching Sushi chef makes them so delicious rolls. They offer a pretty decent menu for happy hour and 2 set of happy hour time slots too. The place has the old vibe, local fave feeling and the service is excellent. The portions of sushi roll are satisfying and the flavor is really good. I love sushi and I eat sushi in different places, whether in a high priced strip sushi spot or local, I find myself keep coming back to this place. The people who comes here are often here too so it's easy to make friends as well. My favorite on the menu is bikini roll! Love the crunch and flavor.
google avatar

Madie A.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years & I love it. The portions are very big no matter what you get. The udon soup is SO filling and it has the best broth I've ever tasted. And the sushi portions are also large. The nigiri piecesare thick cut and typically delicious as well as the rolls and hand rolls. With the food tasting delicious I know that the service here is very slow and overall sucks but I go here with that in mind. The ladies who work here are always very nice and the chefs are sweet as well. But they're extremely slow and there is a language barrier but I am more than okay with that. They get visibly overwhelmed if there are more than two tables seated but I am always very patient and nice to them because I know I will leave full and happy. 9/10 I love this place

Joey T.

Yelp
Came in for happy hour (we're regulars), only table in the restaurant besides a to-go order. Waited about 35 minutes before asking our waitress if our food was coming out soon. She then proceeded to tell us "he forgot" about our order and it would be another 10-15 minutes. Eventually the food came out one roll at a time, some way too hot to eat without burning your mouth. As "compensation" we were offered a mochi, nothing could be done for the actual bill due to no manager on site. Overall extremely disappointed as we are regulars here. We will be giving some of the other sushi restaurants in the area a try next time we want some sushi.
google avatar

Shannon V.

Yelp
Amazing happy hour specials with half rolls so you can try more. Service is always friendly and quick. Chill ambiance.

Armand S.

Yelp
Way better than last time. Good to be back. And will be back again soon with the kids. Rare to find fusion of Japanese and Korean food in one place.

Yelp
We love this place for Happy hour. We've been going there for over 10 years. Like any sushi bar once you get to know the chefs, they really take care on you.

Yelp
As a Japanese food fanatic, I am always down to try new Japanese spots in town. Unfortunately, Hokaido Sushi is just not a hit for me. Located on Fort Apache, Hokaido Sushi is one of the many sushi restaurants in the southwest part of town. To start off on a good note, this spot has a nice Japanese themed interior that takes me back to a small side of the road sushi restaurant when I visited Japan years back. You are able to tell that the owner of this place really put a lot of thoughts into designing this place. The tables are also nicely spaced out so you don't feel overly crowded. Now onto the service and food. Service is subpar. I am always baffled when the server throws the menu onto the table when we sit down. The food preparation time is also ridiculously long (35ish minutes) when there was only three tables total when we were sat. Food is very mediocre. The chicken teriyaki is severely over cooked and drenched in teriyaki sauce that is way too sweet. The chicken tasted like rubber that will give you cavities. However, for the bento you can also select sashimi as your second item, which I thought was a great deal. Unfortunately, though the yellowtail sashimi tasted fresh and melts in your mouth, it was essentially flavorless. The sushi combo was also a bit of a disappointment to me. The sushi's really lacks the fish taste and aroma, the eel was over cooked, and I thought they could replace the second salmon with another nigiri for variety. Given the nice reviews from my fellow yelpers, I'm assuming I visited them on a bad day. Personally, based on my experience, I would really recommend staying away from this spot due to the mediocre food and subpar service.
google avatar

Mirna M.

Yelp
If you are planning to wait for a while for your food then this is tte spot. You get what you pay for anytime. It was better not anymore. We had to wait a long while for our sushi.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
I go to this place several times a month. My order is always the same, an unaju donburi bowl. Only place I've heard call it that instead of unagi, but out of all the places in the area it is the best. A little more pricey, but the quantity definitely makes up for the extra cost. The staff always remembers my name and order when I call in, and are always extremely friendly. The atmosphere seems great, although I only get orders to go. I def recommend trying it out at least once.
google avatar

Haik S.

Yelp
Awesome! One of the best sushi in town. The all you can eat is more than worth it. Tons of different types sushi and much more. They have a few no rices roles which I like. Service was great they were fast on brining out the food. Definitely a spot to check out if you're in spring valley
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
Very good place except, no AYCE. Hence reason for dropping to 4 stars. Great food, service was fantastic. Like the dining room, divided by separate walls between tables. Tried the 3 item bento box. Tasted fresh. Excellent SW Summerlin location.
google avatar

Dianna C.

Yelp
Food is Service is I feel bad giving a bad review because the chefs do a great job but the service is horrible and rude. I love the food but not enough to go back to being treated so poorly. They really don't care about customer service or human kindness. Very disappointing.....
google avatar

Yelp
Mood - Dinner I called and made a reservation as I was in the area the day previous and it was busy busy busy. I was obliged with my time request. Upon entering it was starting to get busy. Was ushered over to a table and menus were given. Opted for a Philadelphia Roll with Soy paper,Pork Toro Ramen, Salad,Bulgogi,Tonkatsu Ramen, Miso Soup,Cucumber Salad, and green tea. The highlight was the Bulgogi. It was very well seasoned and prepared. Interior is several table and chair arrangements. Currently social distance guidelines dont allow for 100% capacity but it was getting pretty busy. Music was playing in the background. Everything was very clean. Staff were wearing masks. Would recommend- pricing is fair. They do offer happy hour as well. I was not here during their Happy Hour Specials, but they are listed on the front door. For me, the service was highly lacking. My table was not checked on. I wanted a refill on my beverage but the server never came back around until it was time to go. Then it took awhile for the payment to be completed. I understand it was busy, but for me your customers are important. Location is Ft. Apache/ Patrick Lane - ample parking

Yelp
My sister loves coming to this restaurant w her family and invited me to join them. I've been here a handful of times now with her. They do have a happy hour special that ends at 5 pm so we normally show up at 4 pm. Food was great. I did ask for two forks and had to exchange them because they were dirty. Yuck. Other than that service was quick and food came out quickly. Seems like they only have one waitress which might be an issue if they got super busy. I will go again because my sister loves it here. P.S. tried green mussels for the first time and they were delicious.

Yelp
By far the freshest and best tasting sushi in Summerlin! I recommend the Monica, Bikini and Cajun Albacore! Also the owner is always behind the sushi bar being extremely friendly and taking care of customers. One thing to note:it gets extremely busy in the dining area so make sure you sit at the sushi bar for faster service!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent customer service, Run by mom and pop! Food is great this is my favorite place to eat sushi!
google avatar

ARYOO H.

Yelp
This is the sushi joint frequented on every Las Vegas visit. The food is always fresh and consistent. However, the recent news has it that one of the sushi chef stabbed and murdered another sushi chef at the restaurant. Yikes... I am now having second thoughts of visiting this place. RIP, the deceased sushi chef.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place! Love the food & the service! We eat here at least once a month. Staff is very friendly & accommodating to kids. The only place I can get my ramen & chicken katsu curry in one spot. Food is always ono (delicious)!

Yelp
Our favorite next-door sushi restaurant. Great happy hour menu as well. They also offer late night happy hour from 9:00 PM to closing. Our staples are the red mountain, Japanese lasagna, tempura and fresh oysters. Food always come out quick and good. Big menu as well and quite a number of options for sushi/sashimi. Whenever possible we prefer to sit on the bar. One of the sushi chefs, Rocky is very friendly and chatty. Overall, always a pleasant dining experience every single time.
google avatar

Jen P.

Yelp
waited forever to get seated. all tables were dirty. one waitress. food is good. just have time to wait and not get the best service.

Nikoletta S.

Yelp
Not all you can eat but cheap options for food during their Happy Hour (2 pm to 5pm). The service is very slow and we waited a while for our food. Ended up going past Happy Hour time and the server almost didn't want to honor our Happy Hour pricing even tho we were here 30 minutes before Happy Hour ended and their service was being slow. The building is hardly filled and they do appear to have a sufficient enough staff for the amount of customers in the building. The food is amazing though. No complaints there, the building is well decorated.

Yelp
It is really not the same anymore...food is.good, but service really bad... I used to love this place, but now.I will.never return...probably togo works...they need to change the server, improve service, please!
google avatar

Nada S.

Yelp
I've eaten here at least 3 times this week. I can't believe it took me so long to find this place. The fish is always fresh and I love the service. It's casual but always fun. Whether I want to go alone and be left alone it's great! Or when I want to go and have fun they always make it that way. I'm really obsessed with the yellowtail. Always on point!

Yelp
We have been coming to this restaurant For about 10 years now and while we absolutely LOVE the food its the service from the front of house that is just horrible. We keep thinking it will get better but it just keeps getting worse. The past couple times we have gone the waitress never comes to check on the table to see if we need anything. We will sit for 10-20 min sometimes waiting for someone to come so we can get a re fill on our drinks. We order a good amount of rolls but the past couple times rolls have been forgotten and yet we were charged on our bill. When we let them know we didn't get those they acted as if it was our fault for not reminding them. My last experience, date 10/5, was for my birthday dinner. The server forgot a roll again (same server as the past couple times) so as we went to pay the bill I noticed she was charging me for that roll that we didn't receive. I mention we didn't get that one to another server that was there as our original server wasn't to be found. She apologizes and leaves, our original waitress comes minutes later with it in her hands and says oh it was in the oven I'm sorry. I said its okay but we are ready to go. Now instead of her taking it off the bill, she asks what do you want me to do with this? So I ended up paying for it and taking it to go. It's sad but this might be the last time we go to this place because of the service from servers. I would say just order to go but when you do that the rolls end up being half the size as when dine in and you still pay the same as you would dinning in. So ridiculous!

Yelp
This Sushi Spot Never Disappoints !!!!!! I Ordered My Favorite " Dark Horse && California Rolls " Delicious Like Always

Yelp
Wonderful service, awesome owner. Loved everything we ordered: from sashimi to rolls to ramen to fried rice and the drinks! You gotta try all their recommendations, they have hardcore guests that love the energy and good vibes here. Sit at the bar and prepare to laugh and have great times. Highly recommend!!

Brianna H.

Yelp
This has been one of our go-to sushi spots for a couple years. We like going for happy hour at 9pm, usually isn't very busy and food is quick. The Alaskan roll and lobster roll are a couple favorites.
google avatar

Stephanie G.

Yelp
I've been going to this place for years and they're food is good however the wait time is fairly long which I didn't mind in the past until today. I went in with my family for Father's Day and the place was not as busy as I expected it to be. We got sat and had our orders taken. We waited for about an hour and thought we'd just order some food to go if it's gonna be that long of a wait for the food. The server came back to us with our to-go order and our bill. When we brought it up to the server that we never received the food we had initially ordered she began blaming the chefs in a very unprofessional manner. We decided we didn't want to wait any longer for them to make our food and checked out to go order and they had completely messed it up. Our to-go order was completely incorrect and by that time we had been in the restaurant for about 2 hours. While waiting I overheard another table across from us get their orders wrong as well. We ended up leaving without paying the bill since we never even got our food, I will not be returning here and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Abby Tea Z.

Yelp
First time in, great food but service wasn't the best. Server forgot the salad, soup and rice that came with the bento, our drinks and seemed to mixed up a few other things. But they are friendly and fast!

Yelp
The friendliest service, freshest food, great prices. I took my 14 year old son there for his birthday. The even gave him a dessert with a candle on it..nice touch/surprise. Agree with other comments portions are big. Happy Hour has many choices. Best Japanese lasagna and paradise roll. We have been going there for years and their high standards have never falter. Head and shoulders better than the sushi restaurant at NYNY. easy to get to and plenty of free parking!
