I’ve eaten here more than a dozen times, and every meal has been delicious! This is one of those places that is fresh, tasty AND healthy, giving you that virtuous glow as you return to the office. Today, Manni was awesome and created a beautiful “bowl” I wanted to share here.

Destiny C.

Google
Just got my food and I do love this place and I will always go here however I added avocado to my meal and I got a sliver of avocado for a dollar and I totally would’ve said something, but it kind of looked across the counter that there was more, but then I saw how much actually was so very disappointed about the avocado portion The girl at the counter, maybe she was new I don’t know or maybe that’s how the actual avocado portion is, but I’m definitely not getting avocado again if that is the portion

Google
It’s a nice little poke restaurant in the quiet plaza, and the restaurant looked and smelled very clean. Hoki Poki is close to UTD. As a student, I like their reasonable price with suitable portion sizes. Of course! The most important thing to be mentioned is that all the ingredients are fresh, like fish, shrimp, tuna… etc. The toppings are plentiful, with a good variety and many mix-in options, and the seaweed salad is impressive. I made my bowl with spicy salmon and tuna or the bowl with shrimp and salmon here many times, and it’s really good and tasty! Everything was perfect, and I absolutely love this restaurant and definitely be back very soon. If you like Poke, this is the place to go! I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Google
Amazing place , never ate it , it’s like chipotle of poke to me . Very very clean . Amazing food

Amanda T.

Google
First time here. Delicious!! Will definitely be back. I did the regular bowl with shrimp and salmon. I also did cooked tofu and edamame. The seafood salad is super good, I'll get that on mine next time. Also highly recommend the house milk tea with boba. Yum!!

Jeremy S.

Google
Clean and yummy. The 'Sushi Burrito' was fun to try out but the Poke bowls is what's best. I've only had the tuna and salmon but they have both been fresh. The staff was friendly and talked us through all the options and how to order.

Google
If you like Poke, this is the place to go!!! Food was really good! And it was reasonably priced. $10 for a regular sized bowl! This is gonna be my favorite poke spot in Richardson.

Amanda

Google
Good poke place. Prices have gone up quite a bit since COVID. My favorite poke place closed during COVID so this was my next go to. Bowls are organized pretty now 🥴

Yelp
Overall Rating: 2 or 2.5 (0 = good, X = bad) 1. Atmosphere: X - its fair enough in terms of cleanliness but it's pretty vacant and only had one table so most times you'll be taking out 2. Service: O - Courteous staff, they did a good job 3. Food/Products: O - The food was good, the problem comes primarily in the sizing in it in terms of its price. The portion is much smaller compared to its hefty price tag so it's not favorable. 4. Pricing: X - Around 15-16, for poke it's around the market price of most poke but the amount of food given is not equal to the price. 5. Overall Experience: Ehh - Most of the experience comes in going in, ordering your food, then bringing to home to eat. The actual experience of making the food is seamless but the problem comes after in which the environment is lacking so you often just go elsewhere to eat and you realize there ain't much to actually eat. Highlights/Recommendations: N/A

Yelp
I would always go here during my college days, and recently I've been back more often again and I'm so glad I decided to revisit this place!! It's just as amazing as I remember!! The fish and sides and toppings are all so fresh. All of the sauces taste so amazing. I really like their menu, too. It has enough variety without being overwhelming and the way to order is simple and easy. The staff is always super friendly when I go. Most of the times I visit here by myself, and it's a nice, relaxing place to take a break and enjoy some really good poke. I'd say this is by far one of the best poke places in DFW and it'll always be one of my favorites.

Yelp
Consistent quick friendly service. A laid back vibe at this restaurant and excellent poke compared to their competitor

Yelp
FOOD Build your own poke bowl! My go-to is: - Regular Bowl with White Rice - Seaweed Salad and Spicy Crab Meat - Spicy Tuna and 2x Salmon - Green Onion - Onion - Cucumber - Pineapple - Mixed with Poke Sauce - Spicy Mayo and Eel Sauce - Garlic Crumbs - Furikake - Fried Onion Flakes I go here very very often when I crave poke just because they do give a good portion size and don't add too much rice to fill up the bowl. I will say that sometimes they do go a little overkill with the amount of sauce and the last bites are more wet, but overall they do a pretty good job of mixing everything. All the ingredients are fresh! VIBES A pretty casual place to eat. Very spacious and decent amount of seating. Pretty quiet all the times that I have gone which makes it nice to study or just casually talk amongst friends. Very popular with UTD students nearby. SERVICE Service is always very fast and very nice. They also offer 10% off for student discount if you show your student ID. Overall pleased!

Yelp
Always a great option near the house. Fast and friendly service. The ingredients are always fresh and delicious. I ordered two burritos and both very tasty.

Scott B.

Yelp
A friend of mines son went to work here and after working several hours was told this was a tryout, he wouldn't be paid, and they would let him know if he got the job. If they are willing to take advantage of a would be employee like this I have no faith in what they might try with their customers. I won't be spending my money here.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered online for pick up and it was ready within 5 minutes. I decided to give poke another try after not enjoying it from a different place and I am so glad that I did. The ingredients tasted fresh and their signature sauce pairs perfectly with the rest of the bowl. My poke bowl was delicious and I will definitely be returning.
google avatar

Eloisa B.

Yelp
I tried this place out because my go to poke place was closed on a Saturday. Poke was okay. The portion size was fairly small for the price you pay. I only got 5 pieces of tuna. There are way better poke places in the area that give more food at the same price or less.
google avatar

Robin F.

Yelp
Really enjoy this place as the ingredients taste fresh and the staff are so pleasant. Clean and simple decor.
google avatar

Jared M.

Yelp
This restaurant had an amazing staff, and absolutely delicious food. The fish was fresh tasting, and the vegetables were crisp. Highly recommend if in the Richardson area. Until next time pupils, -Sensei Jared

Yelp
Was loving poke in Hawaii two weeks ago and was wanting some. It's been a hard find in Texas. Tried Hoki Poki and was very pleased. It's a build your own which is cool for a mix. I kinda guessed at what to do and did okay. The tuna and salmon were fresh. The shrimp was fine but I would have preferred it chopped. Seaweed salad and edamame for sides.
google avatar

Gina K.

Yelp
Love this place!! It's very clean and everything is fresh. The servings/portions are decent. The sauces are really good and compliment the food. Spicy Tuna is spicy. I love the Matcha Latte. Great job Hoki Poki!! Wish there was a place like this closer to my house.

John S.

Yelp
Was good. Quick and efficient ordering. Taste wise no complaints. Only thing was the lack of customization. You got very limited selections included. Worth stopping by but I wouldn't go out of my way.
google avatar

Marina V.

Yelp
Haven't been this place years... Portion, especially protein shrinked drastically, i asked to put extra shrimp, even tho it was tiny. And they charge extra for extra protein.... Overall i like poke bowl, you will choose a lot of ingredients... However price doesn't match what you get... Because before it was they put pretty amount of protein (i mean, salmon, shrimp) but right now price go up but portion has gotten smaller...
google avatar

Ayano N.

Yelp
Clean and simple restaurant. Good portions, flavorful sauces, fresh fish and vegetables. Loved stopping here for a quick lunch! Very reasonably price and good service.

Jerry P.

Yelp
Food is always good. Great selection. Always fresh. Good price. The mini bowl is plenty big.

Yelp
Second time eating at Hoki Poki and definitely won't be my last! I'm so glad there's a poke place near my house (15-20 min) and my university as well (3 min). They have have the option of "build your own" bowl or burrito so I built my own mini sized poke bowl. What I ordered: 1. Mini poke bowl with white rice 2. Seaweed salad and crab meat 3. Chicken 4. Cucumber and fresh jalapeno 5. Eel sauce/mayo sauce mixed 6. Fried onion flakes Although the options were limited, the options they had were still great and delicious. My bowl was filling for the size and it was a decent price compared to other poke places. The service is kind and quick. I ordered through phone and and they already had it ready for me once I arrived. The place is clean and friendly. Definitely check this place out!
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
Honestly is the best poke I've ever had? no. But is it tasty? yes! fish doesn't taste old and taste fresh enough. love the mixtures and options that they have here and the price point is not bad. They used to do UTD discounts so if you are a student/staff ask about that! Overall pretty solid place.
google avatar

Minly L.

Yelp
Came for lunch with two other friends. It was a quick service and the workers were friendly. I love how you can customize your poke bowl. They were a bit restricted on what they had but what they could provide was amazing. Overall, great place for a quick sushi craving.

Michelle S.

Yelp
Terribly small portions, and insane pricing. service is okay as any place would be. ambiance is nice, but it can't make up for the insane prices and terribly small portions they basically give you 4 melon-baller size scoops of fish for a large, which some of which wasn't even properly trimmed (salmon was cut too close to the skin, which allowed it to have that tougher brown section. Rice is NOT sushi rice like at any other poke restaurant and their side sauces are the sizes of a child's cough medicine cap full. One good thing: tuna was actually pretty good. tldr: taste isn't bad, not worth insane price
google avatar

Liane W.

Yelp
This is an overdue review. After trying several poke places in the Richardson/Plano area, this is the best bang for your buck + flavor. It's my favorite fill-me-up poke spot that tastes delicious. Here's my go-to order these days: + Regular poke bowl (white rice/spinach) + triple salmon for my protein + double crab (you get 2 sides!) + cucumbers + carrots + avocado ($1 extra) + fried onion and garlic + masago + sesame seeds If you like spicy tuna, just be aware that... it. Is. Spicy. At least for me lol. All of this with their eel sauce and garlic sauce. Seriously? It's like $12 for all of that, and they don't skimp with their protein. Service is always on point, and it's great for dine in as well as to go. They also have free WiFi! :) Will be back. I always get cravings for this place haha.
google avatar

Yelp
By the end of this work week, I can officially say that I have been to Hoki Poke for dinner four times. Two of those times I ordered the large poke bowl until I figured out that the way to go really is the Sushi Burrito. It's so much more affordable, convenient, and it will be enough food to fill you up! Every time I ordered online, the order was ready to be picked up by the scheduled time, if not sooner. Quality was consistent and so was the way I was kindly treated by the staff. Definitely have a favorite poke place in the Dallas area! TIP: Definitely grab some chop sticks or a fork, it's almost inevitable that the roll will come apart at some point.
google avatar

Lauren R.

Yelp
This is a great poke place. The fish tastes good and fresh. There are also a lot of options for toppings! I will definitely be going here again.
google avatar

Karla C.

Yelp
Met up with 2 of my friends for some poke and we all ended up getting sick right after eating here. Each of our orders contained spicy tuna and spicy mayo so I believe either or could have been bad or contaminated when served to us. I've been here before and did not have this issue.
google avatar

Jorge G.

Yelp
Súper! Is the best poke bowl I have had for long time. The options they have are great and super fresh
google avatar

Tiffany N.

Yelp
Hoki Poki has been our go to poke place in DFW for the past year, they are the best! Affordable prices, killer selection of toppings and sides and awesome portions. I love that I can come here, support a local business and leave full. They have order online options or walk in, both are great and convenient. The regular bowl with three protein options is my go-to, two salmon and one tuna please. My only gripe is that there are not open on Sunday but oh well, what can you do!
google avatar

Yu-kwong C.

Yelp
I love sushi and sashimi. I also love poke especially when I crave for chunky sashimi but I just can't afford it. Also, I can get a lot more veggies in poke because you can replace the rice with salad. I was here for the first time. The instructions for ordering were posted up high behind the order counter. So I acted like I were a dummy and followed each of the steps. I thought I did well, didn't miss a single step, and ordered myself a mini bowl because I came in for an afternoon snack. I picked spinach as base and two proteins (tuna and salmon) and a variety of mix-ins like cilantro and carrot, spicy mayo, and my favorite masago topping. Everything was great. Of the two proteins, I liked the salmon better. It was fresh and delicious. With so many items, the tiny bowl was just not big enough! There was a big poster advertising their spicy braised rib. I'll save it for next time. I may pair it with a boba milk tea. I think it's great combination! The portion is generous, and the prices are affordable. If you're in the area, try it out.
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
Having come here 3 times I keep forgetting to take pictures of my food. Everyone knows what poke looks like by now and have experienced it in one way or another. However, to get the true Hawaiian flavors Hoki Poki nails it in the most authentic fashion and does it with grace and pizazz. The first time I dropped by I grabbed a small bowl and wasn't expecting much but it certainly delivered. Second and third time I grabbed the regular size and still wanted more after I was done! Flavor, authenticity and hospitality all get high marks. I will drive the distance to come on the regular while I pass 2-3 poke places on the way here! Big thanks to the staff for always welcoming everyone who walks through the door and offering super fresh grindz! Mahalo!
google avatar

Kacie D.

Yelp
I wish the portions were bigger. Food: $11 for a scoop of corn, crabmeat, white rice, spinach, onions, sesame seeds, masago, sauce, and three (small) scoops of protein! When all the toppings are mixed together, the portion looks pretty good, but the rice portion is not even a full 5 spoonfuls. It is also very saucy, so it's not as healthy as poke should be. Fortunately, the fish is extremely fresh and the meal is pretty damn good. Service: Friendly and quick! Environment: Pretty open and bright, but plain. It's definitely just a quick bite spot, not an Instagram worthy location.
google avatar

Jane G.

Yelp
They have your standard make-you-own-poke bowl, and they do a good job of it! The fish is decent, but not super fresh (although what else can you expect in Dallas?). I'm a big fan of their "sushi burrito" and their bowls are a good size! I like that they let you mix and match your rice/salad options. And they offer corn and crabmeat which are my favorite additions to any poke bowl! The workers are really nice! There are better poke places in Dallas, but this one is still decent. They also have a student discount, which makes it way more worth what you pay. If you're in the area, go for it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to try it.
google avatar

Ryanne D.

Yelp
Omg YUM O Burrito and the mini bowls are awesome. So is the milk tea w boba. The place is very clean. Staff is friendly and patient...which was good, this was our first time. There are 6 steps in making your meal. Everything is fresh! They do have non dairy options for milk teas too. Very healthy and lite option w a variety!

Yelp
No idea why the insanely high reviews. Maybe people who don't eat poke very often? It's not terrible, and it tasted alright, but for a poke place it's below average. I've been to tons of different poki joints in California and I've never felt more ripped off than here. The reviewer saying this place is overpriced is right. At first, the price seems normal for a poki place, even on the cheaper side, but what you get for the money is what makes it a rip off. Their bowl size (for the 2 protein) is pathetically small. It has no depth at all. The portions of fish I received was also pathetic. There was hardly any! I'm used to a looot more fish than what I got here. I'll happily pay 14 bucks for poki, but at least I feel full after. They charge $1.00 for avocado (standard, although I been to places where it's free) but they also charge $1.00 for masago! What a joke! Even the crappiest places give that for no extra charge. This place is sadly overpriced and sub-par. For a handful of mixed greens, and meager amount of fish, I want my $11.90 back. It wasn't even worth it. I hope this place isn't representative of what the Dallas area does with poki...

Bart L.

Yelp
We loved this place but the crabmeat and the chicken changed so we don't go anymore unfortunately.
google avatar

Nga N.

Yelp
I remember trying this place for the first time a couple weeks after I gave birth. I was excited to finally eat raw fish again. So on the way home from my OBGyn's visit, I conveniently stopped here. I had the Poki bowl with salmon, tuna, and spicy tuna with eel sauce and spicy mayo. For toppings, I added almost everything except for pineapples. I was surprised how tasty it tasted. I guess I didn't expect much from a place that looks like hole in the wall. I also had the spam musubi but I'm not really a fan of spam right now so it was whatever to me. I liked it enough to come back again whenever I'm near by and want some Poki. Definitely recommend this if you're in Richardson.
google avatar

Deseree D.

Yelp
10/10 would eat again, yum! I got a mini bowl with so many things, everything was fresh and delicious.
google avatar

abby e.

Yelp
Great local poke restaurant! The workers are always friendly and the prices are great. The mini bowl is plenty for a filling lunch. Their fish is consistently good, and their sides are plentiful.

Emily R.

Yelp
They get 4 stars for customer service but the food itself was terrible. Zero flavor. Then our stomachs hurt all night. Not sure how it had such great reviews.
google avatar

Yelp
Great poki. I made my own, how i like it and it was amazing. Coming back for sure. The staff was great too
google avatar

Yelp
Best poke in the city. This place has to be the best poke place in the DFW area. Ingredients are fresh and and sauces are delicious. It is also the best priced poke place in the DFW area. I really love this place and also the friendly and very efficient service. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
You really can't go wrong with poke but Hoki Poki does things a little differently than other poke places I have been to. First, their regular size bowl comes in a tray (for takeout, unsure about dine in) and the rice is 2 scoops on one side of the tray (instead of piling the toppings on the rice). The tray is pretty shallow and mixing everything together is not easy. The spicy tuna was delicious but the regular tuna was HUGE chunks. So big that I removed most of them because I just don't love big pieces. The whole bowl was sour and I'm not sure if it was the sauce (I ordered the sweet garlic) or what but it wasn't my favorite poke experience. I will say that the price is lower than most poke places around here so if you can find something you like here, it's perfect!

Juan S.

Yelp
By far the greatest Poki Bowl I've tasted. 10/10! Definitely coming back. You won't regret it!
google avatar

Carmen H.

Yelp
OMGosh! Heaven! We are hooked on Hoki Poki! Healthy! Love! Yum! We got 2 large bowls & we could have spilt one. $14.99 is such an excellent value! We will take pictures next time! The spicy crab & spicy tuna, spicy sauce with eel sauce & spicy mayo! I have lunch for tomorrow. See you soon Hoki Poki!
google avatar

Hannah R.

Yelp
Huge fan. This place is high quality, mellow inside, and just simple good poke. They are incredibly well priced - the large bowl is only about $15 and you get more than enough food for one. So good!

Yelp
After spending years eating poke in Hawaii, I now have a weekly craving for the stuff. Thankfully there is a poke craze sweeping the country, and little mom and pop shops can be found serving this island specialty in most cities on the continent. Hoki Poki is a simple, little, strip mall shop that will make you dance for joy. It's located near the University of Texas at Dallas on Campbell Road. You can't see it from the road. Instead look for the ubiquitous DONUTS sign, as it is located just next door. Parking is free and plentiful. They don't offer any premixed poke options like you would find at Foodland grocery store in Hawaii. At Hoki Poki, you are the creator of your poke mix, so you only have yourself to blame if you don't get the concoction right. I was perplexed my first time, as I knew the taste I wanted, but I wasn't entirely sure I could recreate it with a host of ingredients laid out before me. Fortunately I had help. I'm a loyal fan of the place after the owner spent time walking me through what to mix in my bowl. She poured samples of the different sauces and some of the ingredients I wasn't sure about like the eel sauce and seaweed salad (both delicious by the way). I tasted everything and was able to acknowledge what I really wanted to add to my bowl. I recommend coming early in the day, as they will often run out of fish. I brought my hubby here recently and he is a fan of the place too, especially since a meal and drinks for the two of us totaled $16. I would give the place five stars if they offered some signature dishes too. Wouldn't it be nice to just order the tuna bowl or the salmon bowl, and have them throw together a traditional, standard mix for those things without you having to think about it? Until then, you have to jump through a few hoops and dance the hoki poki to get just what you want.

Yelp
This is the second time I have eaten at Hoki Poki as I found out about them when the COVID pandemic started. They do a great job at ensuring social distancing protocols are followed in their store and that everything is clean. But now onto the reason for reading, the food. The food here is hands down some of the best poke I've ever had. The staff is always very kind and they give sizable portions for their servings. The quality of everything is always really fresh and you can tell when you walk up to the service bar. They also offer a good selection of options to choose from. I crave this places poke in specific often but I have to restrain myself due to my college budget. If you are curious about trying this place out I definitely recommend it! Their mini poke bowl and spam musubi fill me up nicely for lunch every time!
google avatar

Dan B.

Yelp
The food was fresh, service was good and super fast. It was healthy but tasted great. I'll be back soon!

Yelp
My husband and I have been craving Poke recently and wanted to try ones that were nearby. This one is located on W Campbell right before Custer on the right hand side. We found the name "Hoki Poki" cute. The establishment is cozy with couple of tables/chairs. The Poke station at the front has many different items to choose from. It's very clean inside. The woman who made our Poke was very sweet, polite and kind. The Poke looked very appealing and appetizing(see picture/s). The presentation was definitely 5 stars. The only thing that my husband and I agreed was that the Poke was marinated in just a bit too much Korean spices. It's not necessarily a bad thing though. We had ours to go as the place was closing in 15 minutes or so. Over all, it was a good experience and we will keep this place in mind for one of the "go to" places for Poke when we want some Poke.

Yelp
Really good, quick food. Seems to be full of students which is always a good sign :) I got the regular sized poke bowl, which was decent sized for one person. The fish was flavorful, and the topping options were plenty! Overall, a good quick spot for some good quick food!
