Hole In The Wall Coffee Review - North Beach - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"This street-window spot takes up about 15 square feet of total real estate (wonder what their rent’s like…), and has four pour-over coffee options: Blonde, Brunette, Redhead, and the North Beach roast. While your coffee’s being made, the friendly barista – there’s only room for one – will make conversation. Take your coffee with you on a morning stroll." - Calder Silcox

This coffee shop is cute and close to where we live now. I recently tried the amaretto latte, it was so good! Also enjoyed their chocolate chip muffin.

Latte only, no food. Wonderful all around. Nice folks. A mini vacation

Hole in the Wall is a local, cute, family owned coffee shop. The owners and staff are amazing, their muffins and pastries are great, and we always grab a few pizzas on Friday nights. Their lattes are delicious and the owner always suggests a new flavor for me to try, which never disappoints.

Went there today and they were out of everything. The staff weren't very nice, either. What a pity.

My first time visiting and service was great, the coffee was okay but not the best. But the atmosphere has a nice vibe and it’s very quaint.

They were not busy when we arrived but got busy shortly after. We ordered and got parts of our orders 20 minutes apart. I ordered a coffee that came after my food, so I couldn't enjoy it with my food. A friend ordered a muffin and waited 45+ minutes and was then told they were baking more. The runner/server never said anything about it cooking just that it was coming. She gave up and just got her money back because the rest of the table was ready to leave. Great to see a small business busy but would like to see better service and a cohesive oder come to the table. Don't expect quick service and plan to spend at least an hour there.

I don't know how this place has all 5 stars. We own a Coffee Shop, and any time we are out of town we try to find a local Shop with great reviews to give them a try. This shop was quite a drive off the freeway but the reviews drew us there. We got 2 16oz. Drinks (that is there largest size they offer) and not only were they the MOST EXPENSIVE coffee I have had, but they were hardly drinkable. I asked for mine to be 110 degrees and it was easily over 160 and hardly had any coffee taste (maybe 1 shot of espresso). My wife ordered a dirty Chai Latte. I think they made a Chai Tea with water and added some milk to it, plus they charged an extra $2 for the shot of espresso. We don't even charge $10 for two 20oz. Lattes which comes with 3 shots of Espresso in each. Needless to say.... We were Very disappointed. Now I'm curious if this review will be deleted and that's how they keep keep 5 stars

Yelp
We visit this local coffee shop almost every morning to get coffee and pastries. I love the customer service and atmosphere. And of course their mini library! It's so relaxing.

Yelp
What a great little shop. The name is deceiving- it sounds like it will be a little dive. It IS in a little row of condo style buildings. The inside decor is great. It's buried in a downstown-ish strip of The Waters neighborhood. It's got very tall ceilings, great decor, soft, non-offensive background music playing. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The lady serving us explained everything on the menu. We chose two bottomless cups of coffee. They brew Prevail coffee, which is full of flavor, but not over-roasted. Smooth finish, with nice flavors and no strong after-taste. This place is out of the way for us, but worth the drive for a morning coffee date. We sat and chatted uninterrupted, loved looking at the layers of very attractive decor, while sitting in a couple of leather chairs. It's what a coffee shop should be- cozy, airy, smell of java, clean, (99 health rating on the wall), comfy with a great server. I can't answer to their ability to knock something out of the espresso machine, but what we had was very good, and is definitely a nice break from a Starbucks, with a better cup of coffee, in my opinion. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Great family owned local place in the neighborhood. Homemade breakfast pastries and coffee. Wine night on Fridays.

Yelp
Love the coffee, breakfast and wine nights - but the best part is the people! This great little location in a Pike Road neighborhood welcomes people with a hometown feel.
