LA’s Giant Pancake Destination the Griddle Reopens on Sunset | Eater LA

"In Orange County, I found Smoke Queen BBQ popping up at Bootlegger’s Brewery in Costa Mesa on Friday, May 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; expect brisket and more from the Smorgasburg-based crew, with preorders and to-go options available." - Farley Elliott

Taco Tuesday happy hour 🌮🍺 We stopped by for their Taco Tuesday. Before 6 PM, you can sit anywhere, but if you plan to stay later, you’ll need to be seated in the bar area. When we arrived, the bar was already full, so we sat at one of the small tables nearby. There was a bit of a wait to order. We tried the shrimp, fish, asada, and carnitas tacos, along with the yellow chile, HH Smash Burger, and a Shiner Bock. Out of all the tacos, the shrimp taco was the best. The others were just okay. The BBQ flavors didn’t really come through, the meat wasn’t very smoky and lacked flavor, so I wouldn’t recommend those. The staff was friendly, but the bar area gets busy, so there can be a wait to place an order. The happy hour menu is pretty limited overall. I’d mainly recommend the shrimp taco and the yellow chile. 📍 Holé Smokes 1500 Adams Ave #100B, Costa Mesa, CA 92626

Hole Smokes BBQ is a great place to enjoy some smoked meat. There is a bar, good for happy hour and game watching as well as restaurant seating area, inside and outside good for groups and families to sit and enjoy the food and beverages. Their servers are friendly and helpful and the place is well kept. Onto the food…I’ve enjoyed many things here. The Burnt Ends are a great appetizer, the tacos of all kinds but especially enjoy the brisket. All the smoked meat is good brisket, tri-tip, pulled pork and sausages, choose your sides French Fries, Baked Potato, salads, Mac and cheese, etc. there are plenty of great options.

Ordered off of door dash!! Hands down the best cornbread ive ever had! Brisket was tender and flavorful! Mac n cheese was a little dry but still very tasty 😋

Hole Smokes is the best! Andrea is amazing—always friendly and welcoming. The BBQ wings are hands-down the best I’ve ever had, and my go-to is the Web Salad. Consistently great food and service every single time.

I never give 5 stars but this place has the most delicious BBQ I've had West of Kansas City! We've been here a few times and try different things and I cant even pick a favorite!(Burnt ends are pretty amazing!) Everything is exceptional so far and can't wait to come back to hit the rest of the menu. I've been to some of the few Michelin star BBQ places around and I would eat here 1st for sure! Staff is Soo friendly and the happy hour goes until 8pm in the bar...you can be feeling good and totally stuffed for $25 or less! Smash burger is only$5 and Soo good!

Decent BBQ if in the neighborhood , nothing to get too excited about though. Ribs were pretty good, but a little dry and the sirloin was a bit tough. Brussels Sprouts and Beans were great though. The pickles and pickled onions they serve on the side are mighty tasty as well.

What amazing BBQ! We tried a $40 tray of Ribs, Brisket and Tri-Tip. When ordering, our server asked us if we wanted the lean brisket or the fatty brisket (I'd never been given a choice) and we took the fatty. Best Decision Ever. The brisket melted in your mouth, both the Tri Tip and Brisket had a fantastic smoke ring, and everything was absolutely delicious! One note; you will come home smelling of BBQ Smoke (Not a negative in my opinion), but might be a consideration for some. Highly Recommended.

Walk in not expecting much as other BBQ places around the area have been a bit disappointing. I have to say this is one of the best places I have eaten. Our server Maya, was amazing very friendly and outgoing. The food was incredible, we bought the brisket taco, and the 3 meat platter. Brisket was so tender, links were cooked perfectly and spicy and the tri tip was awesome. We will definitely be going back.
