I was on a mission to find some matcha while waiting for my partner to get our burger order from The Win~Dow. Unfortunately, the coffee shop next door didn’t have matcha so I needed to find something quick. I walked by the colorful storefront and noticed the Asian flavored donuts, which immediately had me looking for a drink menu. Lo and behold they had several types of matcha drinks on top of a mocha inspired drink which my partner was looking forward to. The donuts themselves are made out of Taro and made to order, so very warm and delicious! I ended up ordering a matcha with 4 donuts varying from sesame seed to passion fruit flavored. And while the price per donut may seem more than your mom and pop shop, the flavor, uniqueness, and quality of the donut really show for it. Overall, cute shop and happy I stumbled upon it!

Google
Great little donut shop. I got the tasting menu and a latte. I like that they make the donuts fresh to order so they come out hot every time. Out of the four on the tasting menu, the passion fruit was my favorite. I love anything passion fruit and this one had a nice flavor combo. The donuts are vegan, but if they hadn’t mentioned it I wouldn’t have known. The texture and flavor were close to what I’m used to, maybe even a little crispier in a good way. There’s a small seating area outside where you can hang out. Definitely worth a stop if you’re nearby.

Google
Absolutely DELICIOUS. I got waffles and sausage for breakfast a little too sweet for me, but it was absolutely delicious. We got a variety of donuts, including the most popular ones and everything was fresh and tasted magnificent. The coffee was good and the presentation of the box and how everything was put together was very classy. I love this place check out the photos, they say everything.

Google
Let's just say it: freshly made donuts hit different, and Holey Grail totally proves that. I'll admit, I was a little curious about their donuts since they use taro flour and are fried in coconut oil. I wasn't sure what to expect! But honestly, you can't even tell the flour is taro. These donuts are seriously delicious. We got to try a few, and here's the rundown: * The Reincarnated was a perfect, classic maple. * The Hail Mary was really interesting with cardamom and rose – you can definitely taste them, but it's not too much at all. * The Lilikoi had this awesome, bright passion fruit frosting. * If you like pandan, you'll absolutely love the Pandan Paradise. * And the Tropical Swirl was just a great all-around choice. Holey Grail has really created something special with their unique and incredibly tasty donuts. You should definitely give them a try!

Google
The donuts are good, but despite the complex names they all seem to taste the same. The dough is not exactly light, it looks like a cake. I ordered a hot coffee and it came lukewarm. They don't have disposable cutlery.

Google
Oh my goodness I am so happy with this place, the donuts were amazing! The taste was beyond good. I am a huge fan of taro and definitely gave that texture and let me tell you about the service! ROBBIE and THE PASTRY CHEF! Reminded me what great service looked like which these days is so rare. If you have any catering needs or just popping in definitely go to this one!

Google
This donut shop has a great location and a really nice interior. It’s clean, modern, and inviting. It’s definitely the kind of place you’d want to stop by if you’re in the area and craving something sweet. The donuts are unique and clearly made with care. They were a little on the heavier side, and while they were good, they didn’t quite blow me away. Still, the quality is solid and the flavors are interesting enough to make it worth trying. Overall, it was a four-star experience. A great spot to satisfy a donut craving, especially if you’re into specialty treats and good atmospheres.

Google
Stumbled upon this donut shop while walking down the street and wanted to try it out after hearing good things about it. Ordered one featured donut and one regular donut to try out! Price point was on the higher side, however understandable that it’s made to order and they use premium ingredients. It took quite a while to get our 2 donuts (about 15 minutes) but there was a large group before us so we figured there would be a bit of a wait. The donuts’ flavours were so delicate, nicely balanced and not too overwhelming sweet! Was pleasantly surprised that they were delicious and you could taste the flavour in each bite. Definitely pairs nicely with a coffee, will try that out next time!

Yelp
My go-to donut spot, Holey Grail makes you feel a little bit better indulging in an "unhealthy" treat. At first it does taste way different than your usual donut but you get used to it, the dough is made of taro and cacao then fried in coconut oil! Holey Grail really takes pride in their ingredients used and its mostly sourced from Hawaii! When you order, they make the donuts fresh to order so it takes around 5-10 minutes for your donuts to be made. I recommend eating them right away and it will literally melt in your mouth. There is a decent amount of seating inside and outside to relax and wait for your donuts. As for the donuts itself, I recommend getting the tasting box to get a flavor you really like. I've tried the Cosmic Churro which tastes like your average churro, Lilokai which was sweet and just the right amount of tart, Pandan was pretty good and their hot singles and Original Sin are good options too, you can't go wrong. My ultimate favorite is their Miso Honey though, that one is outrageously good. Shoutout Robby for holding the store down too!

Yelp
These donuts are freshly made to order with unique flavors that really burst and stand out. When you receive the donuts, they are still hot with a great fluffy and bouncy texture and a flavor-packed glaze on top (depending on which flavor you get). The size is quite small for the price, but you're paying for the quality and the flavors that are hard to find in other donut shops. This spot might not be for you if you want to dig into a big, classic donut, but I definitely recommend to try at least once!

Yelp
Delicious donuts made of taro! I'd say texture-wise, they feel like a hybrid of cake and mochi donuts. They are definitely unique so you ought to try them for yourself! I loved the donuts but I'm not a big fan of their coffee and matcha drinks because they are dairy-free and use macadamia nut milk and I do not like the taste of macadamia nut milk combined with coffee or matcha. It just doesn't work for me. I'll go back for the donuts but I'll skip the beverages..

Yelp
This is one of my favorite new places. Donuts are made per order so very fresh and presentation is excellent. I'm big on customer services so the intentional connection with us was great. The vibes were vibing here. It wasn't busy when we arrived so we got our donuts right away. As someone who isn't big on sweets this is now my new favorite dessert place. All of the donuts we got were so delicious. The wild guave licking fingers good. The Rick Martinez the layers of flavors was exceptional. This is the second time I've got the reincarnated donut and I'm so happy about it!

Yelp
Taro based donuts! Each donut is made to order and dipped individually by hand. Very interesting process of making them and fun names : original sin, hot single, PB cup, Hail Mary and lilikoi. You can get an assortment box from 4 pieces to a dozen. Friendly and patient service: it's not easy deciding which one to NOT get. Also got iced Hawaiian vanilla latte and and iced Hawaiian chocolate drink. One bathroom but no changing table for infants or toddlers. Lot of merchandise including coffee beans and shirts, bags, mugs, hats etc... Open air seating but our group took up the one long table (10 adults). Many more stools available. I really enjoyed the lilikoi or passion fruit donut. You can get a pack of donut holes dipped in one flavor I suppose.

Yelp
I swear we've seen this movie before but the grail is something you don't have to sacrifice your limbs for. It does hurt the wallet though when you realize the box and portion is the size of said wallet. Hey it was good though! I think I'd have to sacrifice something just to get a spot around Belmont Shores though. Obviously it's not a bakery issue but who would've thought an 11AM visit on a Tuesday would still compel finding parking in a residential neighborhood 2 blocks away. The takeaway here though; nothing feels better after walking a bit in the blazing sun when the place literally slaps you with immediate AC and a cool fan. ‍‍ The vibe and service matches each other perfectly which is amazing to me; vibrant but chill, loud in appearance but classy in execution and approachable. What surprised even more is that the cashier actually knew what the food profiles of each little donut provided. Expertise even though she said she was only working there for a month or two? Slay girl. Especially when I heard the menu changes almost every week. Now the prices don't seem off-putting at first considering we're entering this establishment with an expectation of what a donut looks like both in appearance and size. Let alone I never would've expected that they glaze, style and the donuts on the spot when you order it. All that frosting caking up a fresh pillow of a donut But guys/gals... that expectation caught me by surprise. The sizes between the price to portion is... sub. I want to say it has something to do with the taro-based dough they used. But when I got my box of what was four donuts thinking there was only two until I opened the box; Miso Honey (funny enough miso and honey do go together), Food of the Gods (looked plain but those cacao nibs were awesome), Pandan Paradise (pandan, mango and passionfruit? Yo chill) and Tropical Swirl (swirl of strawber-SWEET, it was too sweet). I put these in order of favorites, starting with my most favorite. Premium flavors but definitely something for an occasion than a frequent visit.

Yelp
Really excited about these, but they fell short of my expectation. Came on a recommendation of a local. Love that they're taro based donuts from Hawaii. They fry them to order so they come out hot and fresh. The flavor combos are unique and fun. However, they were greasy and if not eaten right away they were simply not good. They shop is beautiful on the main drag of Long Beach. The employees were patient and helpful and the place was clean.

Yelp
Hello vegan-friendly, made-to-order, taro-based donuts! I didn't even know taro-based donuts is a thing but here they are at Holey Grail. Strolled in with friends at this Belmont Shore location. I was instantly intrigued by the Pandan Paradise because I'm super Pinay like that. Good mix of tropical flavors from the pandan, coconut, mango, and lime zest. The donut is warm when I received it and the texture was light, fluffy, and a slight toasty bite from the caramelization from being fried in coconut oil. Visually eye-appealing too! https://yelp.to/HCHJScBe_V I paired this with a Hot Hawaii Vanilla Chai made with macadamia milk. IMHO it was lukewarm upon receipt but the flavor was good. https://yelp.to/BqY_iTafGV Small patio area to enjoy our sweet treats. Great for people watching. I'm a fan! I've had the opportunity taste other flavors on a different visit. But it was for a Yelp Elite Experience which is not reflected in this particular review. But that experience can be read here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/apihm-on-the-coast-yelp-experience-at-holey-grail-donuts-long-beach?hrid=fu5vwru6ud6YxJeq-xvzeQ&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) Note to self: Not all flavors are vegan. Some may contain honey or bee pollen. Online ordering indicates those items. Staff can also help let you know too.

Yelp
After the Yelp event, I decided to purchase coffee sticks and candy bars. The review below is based on purchases made and not the Yelp event. I viewed the merchandise, but I did not purchase any, yet. The coffee was bold and dark with a nice scent. I made sure to get that scent before putting cream inside. I loved the milk chocolate and dark chocolate bars, I liked the flavor of the milk chocolate a little more. The coffee packs and chocolate bars were not cheap, I am absolutely not rich, yet I would buy them again. The transaction was quick and once again, the staff was very friendly and answered all questions I had. This shop is on the popular Second street in Long Beach, some days, sometimes, it can be harder to find parking, plan ahead. I look forward to trying more coffee and more donuts, which are fresh and refreshing. The Staff here is awesome, so I am happy to write this review. Yelp
Finally tried Holey Grail donuts - we got the sampler box. Their donuts are made from taro root and are fried in coconut oil! so they are healthier than typical donuts I loved their pandan and passion fruit donuts - so unique. Need to try their chocolate one soon. The iced matcha colada fizz was disappointing. Would come back for donuts, not for drinks.

Yelp
Very cool concept - taro donuts. A nice change from your usual donuts. Chewier and not as bitingly sweet. Each one topped painstakingly by hand. Coffee's pretty good - pretty sure it's Hawaiian coffee.

Yelp
Best and freshest donuts I've ever had! I felt a little less guilty eating 2 donuts knowing they're made with taro and coconut oil. We tried the Rick Martinez, Hot Peach, Lilikoi, and Reincarnated. All phenomenal and came out warm and soft. I'll be thinking about donuts until my next visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly and helpful staff who can answer any questions you have about the type(s) of donuts you are craving/seeking. Freshly made donuts with great flavor and awesome attention to details! Adequate street parking. Small outdoor patio with some tables and chairs to enjoy the sun. Clean space with music playing in the background.

Yelp
First off, I am plant based vegan and always scour places that are friendly for me to patronize. If you haven't tried Holey Grail, do yourself a favor and run to it! My first time in Long Beach and I was happy to find it. The store is open, airy and bright. The ambiance and vibe is great and the service was top notch. This is the first made to order donut shop that I've heard of. I love this concept because you do have to worry about getting stale, old donuts and did I mention made to order equals HOT and FRESH!!! And although that is the case, the speed in which they are able to get the donuts out is seamless. No issues with waiting a long time from my perspective. The flavors are so unique and they have signage in the store that speaks to what they make the donuts out of, so that is helpful. I came back here two days in a row and plan to take some before I leave Long Beach. Overall, great experience for me and I highly recommend if you haven't given them a try!

Yelp
I have never had a donut MADE TO ORDER before, but wow I don't think I can go back to any other way! We stumbled upon Holey Grail Donuts when running some errands down in Belmont Shore and decided to split the maple donut which was soooo good. The team members were really helpful in their recommendations too! With an open air concept, it was so nice to sit and enjoy our treat after.
google avatar

Lisa K.

Yelp
Although I was in Honolulu in December somehow I missed this mostly vegan, taro-based donut shop. For my vegan friends, there are just a few donuts here that aren't vegan (honey) do just ask at the counter for confirmation. I ordered the Original Sin bc you can't go wrong with a maple donut. I didn't realize that these taro-based donuts are made-to-order. I loved the crunchy little bites. My only complaint about the donut-I wish it was larger! The staff were super-friendly and were great to talk with while my donut was getting made. Bright, clean shop with merch & other items (chocolate bars) for sale.

Yelp
I love to eat donuts. So I decided to stop by to try their special Taro donuts. The donuts are made to order. They are not only beautiful but also delicious. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They recommended that I tried the pandan paradise and the Hawaii vanilla as it is not too strong. I ended up ordering what the staff recommended; Pandan Paradise and Hawaii Vanilla. I love how the donut and the coffee pair well together. The donut has a good balance of sweetness and tartness. I really like the passion fruit flavor and the coconut flake. I love how the coconut flake really shine through even though it only a small part of the donut. The Hawaii Vanilla was so creamy with macadamia nuts milk and a hints of vanilla. It's so good! I will be back to try more!
google avatar

Maritza S.

Yelp
Delicious made to order taro donuts. They are cake-like so don't expect an airy donut. The flavors are inventive and the flavors are strong. Not sure that I could eat 2 of these donuts. I had the Original Sin which is glazed with vanilla bean and salted maple. Can't wait to try other flavors! They are a bit pricey but I think it's worth it. The service was just ok. No one was super friendly but they were not rude and answered all my questions.

Emily F.

Yelp
Donuts are 10/10 !!! The drinks are really good too. I do miss the non plastic cups and the cashew milk!! Wish they could bring this back. Service 1/10! Employee was on her phone and didn't really notice us at the kiosk. She was not friendly or helpful. She was kind of rude and we felt like a burden even ordering...she was so disinterested that she got our order wrong and i didn't even want to mention it bc it was so uncomfortable even talking to her.

Yelp
Took a stroll along 2nd Street and a sweet scent made me stumble upon Holy Grail Donuts. The inside has an open concept with a patio to enjoy the weather. The menu has weekly rotating flavors as well as permanent flavors. They're slightly on the pricey side at about $4 a donut, but they pride themselves in using very clean ingredients. All donuts are made to order. Ordered the Hail Mary, J Dilla, Miso Honey, Original Sin. The size is relatively small compared to usual donut shops so it's pretty easy lose track and eat multiple donuts in one sitting, especially when they're warm! Since each donut is fresh they have a good exterior crisp but also melt in your mouth.

Yelp
2/7/25 Kaua'i favorite makes it to the mainland (great donuts with an island flare).--each made to orders get 'em piping HOT! Must've passed by the original food truck donut shop in Hanalei a few hundreds times in Kaua'i-- only to finally try em here in Belmont Shores! Been meaning to stop by & try them too. This used to be Earl of Sandwich I believe (?) now serving up made to order donuts. Flavors inspired by the islands bounty: lilikoi, taro, cacao with fun names like Original Sin. The logo, which is the Holy Grail-legend has it that it holds (pardon the pun) miraculous powers because it was thought to be the cup that Jesus Christ drank from. It would've been fun if they served their coffee in such a vessel lol. Yet digress. Tiffany (friendly & helpful) happily took my order & recommended to try the donut holes to also try their dips. I requested their popular flavor (i forgot the name). Then the Chocolate Crunch caught my eye- with cacao nibs sprinkles. The shop is small but it has an open air concept. There's a long common table with benches inside & a patio with stools & a bar type table so you can people watch as you enjoy your treats. Hey bring your pup, Long Beach is very dog friendly. Made to order does not mean long waiting time, mine was ready in less than 5 minutes, as I said, piping hot! The Chocolate Crunch had glistening chocolate glaze & I saw the donut maker sprinkle the cacao nibs artfully onto the fresh glaze, in a pinch. et Voila! Soft, fresh doughy goodness, a bit too sweet but good enough to share the calories with Hubby (he's not a fan). I loved the Original Sin donut holes as I dipped them- perfect! Parking on 2nd Street is metered or find any along the side streets. They also sell merch like T-shirts, chocolates & other fun knickknacks. Now I really wanna visit the one in Hanalei when we return to Kaua'i --- if you can't wait, check this one in Belmont Shores!

Yelp
Update: my friend really liked the POG donut. (Passion Orange Guava) and it's a pretty decorated glazed donut with small florals on it. I remember when they first opened, their donuts were really good but just overpriced for small size donuts. However, I will come back to try their other flavor donuts on another occasion or to bring for friends.

Yelp
Such a cute donut spot! Fresh, made to order, hand-fried taro donuts. Which means they use Hawaii-grown taro as the base of their donuts. I ordered the 4-pack box. Original sin, notorious P.O.G. (My fav), whisky n' s'mores, and yuzu creamsicle. Don't those flavors sound intriguing?! Small donuts but mighty in flavor. All the 4 were so good and guess what? They were all gone by the next morning. Staff is so friendly and attentive. I love exploring all the places on 2nd street. These donuts are not cheap but I'll still come back. So should you!

Yelp
This donut place was absolutely amazing. We ate the chocolate donut right away and it was perfectly crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside. Delicious. And so beautiful to look at. And the girl was so nice and helpful there. Would definitely go again! Wish we got more!

Yelp
A little bit pricey but it's worth it. We got 9 donuts. Small but not bad to munch on for a few days. They are made to order so they do taste fresh. We tasted quite a number of flavors and they were all delicious and unique. It's a small place. Mostly for pick up. Glad we could come by!

Yelp
I love this unique Hawaiian Taro donut spot, located on 2nd street in Long Beach. The donuts are made fresh to order and fried in coconut oil and they are delicious! I bought a 4 pack for my husband's birthday. The cost for 1 is $4 and if you buy a 9 pack, you'll get a bit of a discount. The donuts are a bit on the smaller side. I bought - Notorious P.O.G. - Passion Fruit, Orange, Guava. (A favorite) - Reincarnated - Real Maple, Smoked Coconut, Hawaiian Sea Salt - Original Sin - Hawaiian Vanilla Bean, Maple, Sea Salt - Hail Mary - Cardamom and Rose Love the donuts, and vibe of this spot that is definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Best donuts in town especially if you're craving a donut in the late afternoon which for some reason seems to be my jam. Loved the flavors after getting to sample them at a Yelp event I had to come back and try more flavors. I think my favorite at the moment is Miso Honey or Original Sin. I can't really decide. The Maple one is also amazing. Staff is super friendly and the donuts come out warm and fresh. Tried the tonic coffee too which is fun and different. Cool vibes inside with good music and fun merch. The donuts are too good I will be returning too often. Just writing this has me craving one again.

Yelp
Made to order donuts how could you go wrong? The menu has a wide variety and nothing beats how fresh it is but I think if I ordered it delivered and it sat for a bit, it wouldn't be the same experience

Yelp
So happy I don't have to go all the way to Hawaii for Holey Grail anymore! This place serves up some made to order taro donuts that are nice and crispy on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside. Definitely recommend eating it fresh if you can! I also tried their pineapple passionfruit drink which comes with some coconut cream on top and it was so refreshing and not too sweet. I believe there is a small private lot, but I was able to find street parking pretty easily on a Saturday afternoon!

Yelp
The weather was so nice we decided to walk down 2nd street today and we came across Holey Grail Donuts. As soon as my wife saw there was a connection to Hawaii and she saw the P.O.G Donut on the menu we had to stop. We were welcomed in by a very nice young woman. Who gave us a few recommendations. We ordered the P.O.G and the Reincarnated, both of which were really good. Hot, fresh and had a very mild crunch on the outside which I loved. Only complaint, well not a real complaint but they could've been bigger, they were quite small but very good quality. Price was average for the quality, $4 per donut but worth it. The inside was clean.and very organized. Had a mini shopping area with some items that catered to the store. Had a public restroom and some stools where you could relax and enjoy. They are dog friendly so bring your pup and enjoy the afternoon
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious, freshly made donuts that are definitely worth trying at least once! I learned about Holey Grail through a Yelp event, and had to bring my family along to try it. The fact that these are freshly made to order makes a huge difference so if you can stay and enjoy right there, do it! Love that they have more interesting, tropical flavors, and I like to think that the fact that these are taro-based makes it more healthy. That's how it works, right?

Yelp
My fav kind of donut is a simple yeast glazed donut, but I saw this place after getting coffee at Colossus so I figured I'd check it out. It was so good, I forgot the flavors I got but the one with the crumble was so delicious. They come out nice and warm, so it's a little bit of a wait bur worth it. Definitely will go back.

Yelp
Went on a Tuesday at 6pm. Parking could be difficult, but luckily we got a spot right in front. It wasn't busy. It's like an upscale donut spot. Nice spot to chill at if you're looking for a place. The people there were very friendly. Got these ones to try: -Original sin -Dandelion chocolate -Holeys rolled in sugar Each donut is made fresh, so they're all nice and warm. Size is small. Liked the crisp outside. Smooth inside texture. It's more donut like when it was cold and more mochi donut like when it was hot. I liked it better when it was fresh. Notes: -They have an all gender bathroom

Yelp
Last review of 2024 has to go to my fav new business on 2nd Street! The donuts here never disappoint. We routinely bring visiting friends and get variety boxes for parties. I personally love that the smell of these donuts makes the whole block smell scrumptious. Favorite Flavors: Original Sin and Hot Single (we like the OGs), but the rotating flavors are usually great too - favorite recently was the Naughty List. Vibe: super chill, mostly street parking, open air seating. Donuts are made to order so always super fresh. Service has always been pleasant!

Yelp
Haiku: Holey Grail Donuts Taro-made donuts Sustainable, organic Hawaiian flavors. --- I'm so glad I stumbled upon Holey Grail Donuts while walking around 2nd Street in Long Beach. The Tasting Box was calling my name. I mean, how can you resist Lilikoi, Black Sesame, Chocolate Crunch, and Purple Haze flavors? All the flavors were spot on. When it's fresh, it's light and fluffy. Just note after a while, it has a bit of a mushy texture. Maybe because it's taro-based? Service is sweet and friendly. The whole shop has a local, chill vibe with Holey Grail merch, curated home goods, and chocolate. I align with their mission to create made-to-order, fresh taro donuts using sustainable ingredients and donating proceeds to charity. They use Hawaiian-grown taro, single-origin cacao, and fry in organic coconut oil. They also locally sourced ingredients from farms in Hawaii and West Coast states. I'm looking forward to coming back!

I stumbled upon Holey Grail with one other person when we were grabbing frozen yogurt across the street. Unlike other donut shops Holey Grail uses taro as their donut base and 100% organic coconut oil to fry their donuts in. That is super impressive to me considering how much I hate that other donut shops uses cheap seed oils to fry their donuts. Holey Grail uses real ingredients and they even make them fresh when order. And they change their menu every Thursday. When I came in that Monday it wasn't very busy. We ordered and shared their seasonal Holey Snickerdoodle donut holes and Original Sin (which was a Hawiaii Vanilla bean with maple sea salt). The snickerdoodle donut holes were my favorite. They were still warm when we got them and the cinnamon sugar outside was divine. The original sin donut was also good. The flavor wasn't super empowering and it was nice. Both were very good and I would get them again. The staff was nice and knowledgable. The donuts took 5 minutes to cook. The taro base gave it a new chewy flavor which I enjoyed. A donut is $4 and they aren't super big but they definitely are satisfying. The donut holes were larger balls than other donut shops and were priced at $7 for 5 of them. You can also buy 16 for $18. They usually have over 8 different flavors of donuts you can choose from. Besides donuts they also have crafted drinks such as lattes and their fizz drinks. Overall, I am glad Holey Grail choose to be here and I am all for their ingredients they use. I recommend it to those that apprecaite quality ingredients.

Yelp
Donuts were delicious make no mistake! My only suggestion would be to make them a little bit bigger to validate the price per donut.

Yelp
The texture of these donuts is what sold me. They were very moist and warm. The lilikoi donut was my favorite a little tart and sweet. I also got a chocolate crunch donut that was a not my favorite, but I'd give it a 6/10. The Hot Hawaii vanilla Latte was amazing, I drank it so fast, not too sweet. The shop was cute, has seating inside and outside and the workers were nice. Definitely going back for more

Yelp
The box is beautiful. But maybe because it's vegan donuts or something like that... taste wise its not good to me. The dough is dry but dense, and soaked with grease. Then the icing is thin and doesn't cover the thickness of the grease. The flavors weren't strong or fragrant either - for instance, the POG should be delightful in theory, but the passionfruit taste was chemical-y and artificial. For a spot that came from Hawaii, I had way higher expectations. I've been to way tastier asian-adjacent donut shops that actually give decadent bites, but then again its LBC so my expectations are probably too high. Krispy Kreme fresh might even be better than this (though Krispy is usually waaaay too sweet). Also these donuts are smaller than usual sized ones, but maybe that's a good thing to some people. This box of mid-tasting small donuts was $36 after tax.

Yelp
One of the best donuts I've had. Made of taro, these donuts came out fresh (still warm!), have a satisfying crust and a soft inside. We tried the pandan paradise donut which didn't add much flavor tbh other than hints of acidity from the passion fruit, but the donut itself was so good it didn't matter.

Yelp
Pretty unique donuts but expensive. Parking in the back or on the street. Friendly service.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place while walking by and decided to check it out--so glad I did! I love that the donuts are made fresh to order rather than just sitting out. They let me know upfront that it would take a bit, which I appreciated. The service was warm and friendly, and you can really taste the difference--these donuts are made with care. The flavors were unique and catchy, this a super cool and chill spot to visit!

Yelp
Very tasty donut, I loved the texture! A little chewy and a little crunchy. I tried their reincarnated flavor, which has maple, coconut, and sea salt. It was so yummy, not overly sweet, and freshly made to order! I ordered to go and they put it in the cutest little box with fancy tissue paper. Felt like a luxury donut, which makes sense for about $4 for one as it's a little on the smaller side. I enjoyed it though and would indulge in one every once in a while and/or if they have a seasonal flavor that I'm interested in! The person helping me was also very nice, I came at a good time as there was no line, but on our walk back it was pretty packed inside on a Friday night.

Yelp
Simply perfection. I'm sad how late I am in discovering this place, but these folks have redefined the donut world with some serious upgrades. Taro-based and sweetened with raw honey (and originally from Kaua'i) - it'll elevate your mood instantly, I wouldn't be surprised if they begin serving CBD donuts. Health nuts and dessert lovers can peacefully co-exist here. A bit on the pricey end, but your body (& soul) will appreciate you

Yelp
Unique donut shop with interesting flavors to choose from. What makes this donut shop stand out from other donut shops is that the dough is made from taro. I had the dandelion chocolate donut and hot peach donut which were flavorful, soft and you can really taste the hint of taro. While the donuts were good, they weren't amazing where I would come back frequently. It'd be nice if they had more variety of dough available, not just the taro dough. The shop has a small amount of parking in the back and if you have problem looking for parking, there is street parking available. Customer service was ok. There is a good amount of seating for those who want to dine in.

Yelp
Very fun splurge. It's definitely pricey for "donuts". Now $4.50 a piece unless you buy their box of 9 for $36. But if you think of it as a fun dessert stop, it makes it more price average. A restaurant dessert could easily cost the $9. We had the Notorious P. O. G. Whisky N' S'mores (the employee's fav) Original Sin and Hot Single. All were yummy as was the hot coffee. We will be back, but not often. Goes against the diet I should be on. But definitely a yummy splurge.

Yelp
Such a great addition to Long Beach! I only had them once before in Hawaii and it's great to have them locally now. Their beverages are delicious, with macadamia milk! So creamy! The donuts and donut holes are fantastic! I love that the donuts are not overly large or greasy. They're made to order and with lots of care.

Yelp
Let's start out with this caveat: I'm not a big donut person. Do I enjoy the occasional donut? Absolutely yes. If I had the choice from a variety of baked goods, would a donut be my first choice? Probably not. But I've been hearing great things about this place and found myself on 2nd street, a little hungry and with a few minutes to spare. Also, I LOVE cardamom, so I'd been hankering after trying the Hail Mary. I wanted to try a few flavors so I ordered three donuts: a Hail Mary, a Hot Single, and a Dandelion Chocolate. This might have been my first mistake, because I cannot eat three donuts in one sitting and these really are meant to be eaten as served fresh & hot. Let's start with the dough part of these doughnuts. The taro lends a nice cakey texture and flavor and this was my favorite part. I'd be interested to try the donut plain - I think I would really like it served that way. As for the toppings, I found the cardamom donut far too sweet, with the taste of sugar overpowering everything else. I couldn't finish much more than a bite of this donut. YMMV: If you have a sweet tooth and really love sugary glazed donuts you may love this one also. It just wasn't for me. The Hot Single was similarly too sweet, but also too salty. For some reason the two flavors just didn't blend well for me. I ended up saving most of this donut for the next day, which was a mistake. It did not hold up. By far my favorite was the chocolate donut, which was glazed with a semi-sweet chocolate that complemented the donut itself without overpowering. Of the three donuts, it was the only one I finished. With all that said, here are my tips if you want to try Holey Grail: - Order only what you can eat fresh, right away - Consider how big a sweet tooth you have when selecting your flavors
