Buxbaum Boutique Hotel (Vienna, Austria) 6 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Spacious rooms and high modern style in the center of old-town Vienna, all at a relatively modest price... the Buxbaum is a rare beast: a small and intimate boutique hotel, almost a bed-and-breakfast, but a thoroughly modern one, with a location that’s just about unbeatable." - Tablet Hotels

What a cozy and welcoming boutique hotel! The rooms are spacious, the breakfast is delicious, and the location couldn’t be more perfect. But what truly makes this place special is the staff. María Luisa and Marcos were incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our stay. Natalie, Tobías, Anita, Katherina, Vivían, Mario — and many others whose names I wish I could remember — all made us feel so cared for. This was our second stay in Vienna, and once again, the team made it unforgettable. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Thank you for another wonderful experience!

We had a lovely stay at this boutique hotel in Vienna. Situated one street back from the main tourist areas but was so quiet. The hotel was quirky, relaxing and inviting. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was great quality and plentiful. The omelet, was the nicest I have ever had. Beautiful coffees. I would thoroughly recommend.

We stayed for 4 nights while visiting the Christmas markets in Vienna. We booked an XL room (room 23) which was on the corner of the first floor. |We enjoyed the space in the room and having extra seating. The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. The room faces on to the street and we did not hear any noise. We would have appreciated black out blinds as the street lights mean that the room is not particularly dark during the night. ||We found the staff to be pleasant and helpful and very unobtrusive. We were looking forward to breakfast each day given the very positive reviews but overall, we felt somewhat underwhelmed by it. We liked the fact that you can have breakfast from 7am until 11.30am but we found that the buffet items were often not readily replenished and if you went to breakfast after a busy spell (around 9.30am) there wasn’t much left. Service at breakfast was also a bit hit and miss and we had a few occasions where we had to remind staff about our coffee orders. ||Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return as we think this hotel offers good value and the location is ideal.

Good location for the 1st district, underground and trams, so very easy to get around, with good bars and restaurants close by. Very small hotel, rooms are fairly compact but have everything you need. Breakfast was cooked fresh, small portions but you can have as many as you like, buffet a little limited, but quite a small breakfast room, but there is more tables next door. A nice little touch was snacks and beer at five for a couple of hours included.

We visited Vienna for the Christmas markets and museums. The Buxbaum hotel is in a quiet street a short walk from all the sights. It is quirky but charming. Our room was spotless. Housekeeping was immaculate. The breakfast service was charming 😋 and we all enjoyed the healthy selection available each morning. The breakfast room is small and we sat in the outside area on our last morning. The reception staff were excellent with Sunday evening dining options.

A true boutique hotel. Everyone was so friendly. I stayed for a week and felt at home. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was great with à la carte options include. The goulash and eggs are perfect after a night out. In a very convenient part of the old town close to the sights, restaurants and subway. If you are inspired by the music in Vienna there is a piano for your enjoyment as well.

We had an amazing stay. Stayed in the suite (26) which is absolutely incredible. Spacious, welcoming, clean and warm. Amazing Hamam within the room. Also, the breakfast was very rich and tasty. Great service. Highly recommended, we will definitely come again.

We enjoyed our two nights in this hotel. The breakfast was delightful as well as the staff, who was very kind. However, I would have loved to have known - prior to the booking - that the hotel has six rooms (out of a total of 26 rooms) which are literally 3 steps away from the breakfast dining area. Can you imagine opening the door of your room and being 5 steps away from your breakfast table?

Yelp
While typically I cannot go recommending a hotel simply because they do a beautiful breakfast, Hollmann Beletage serves up what might just be the best morning meals I have ever had in a hotel. I'm talking fresh juice, eggs made to order, meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, bread, pastries - all included in the nightly rate. Not only that - the rooms are well-appointed, the sheets soft, the wifi reliable and the location central. For the discerning traveler wanting a truly local experience, it's hard to imagine there's a better hotel in Vienna. In fact the only thing missing at the Hollmann Beletage is a lively bar scene. This unique hotel's a little more like staying at a hip friend's flat and waking up to find a chef in the kitchen preparing you breakfast. If you require 24 front desk reception or room service it might not be the right pick. But if you're just fine letting yourself in and you don't mind getting dressed to eat, head over to the nearby Hollmann's Salon and have your drinks and dinner there. I'd definitely rate Hollmann Beletage right up there with some of my other favourite hotels - The Ace, New York; The Drake, Toronto; The Hoxton, London; The Soho House, Berlin; The Louis, Munich; CitizenM, Amsterdam - and look forward to sleeping with them again soon.

Yelp
I stayed here with my husband over Christmas on our honeymoon, and I can't imagine a better, homier hotel anywhere. Seriously, this is my favorite hotel I've ever stayed in, full stop. Every hotel I stay in now will be compared to the Hollmann Beletage. We found the place fine (look for an orange overhang), and were able to walk from the Wien Mitte train station after taking the CAT from the airport. Extremely convenient city location! The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful for anything we needed. They have limited hours, but I don't require any assistance overnight, so it was not an issue at all. The room was quite large, with a very comfortable king sized bed right in the middle. Separate WC, shower stall on the side, sink adjacent to the headboard, a desk, a couch, and a comfortable chair. We were here for 5 nights and 6 days, so we were very happy to have big closets to unpack and the couch to hang out and read on. The room was cleaned every day and the first day we were given Pez candies on our pillow. (Not sure if we should have gotten these every day, but we only got them one day/five). We were also provided slippers and robes, which are basically necessities for me in a hotel, especially in the winter. I prefer not to travel with my own robe, but as a long haired girl in a hotel room with limited towels, this amenity means a lot to me. We loved the breakfast each morning! In an intimate room on the top floor, a small but efficient team serve up truly delicious food. There was always a selection of rolls/croissants, meats and cheeses, jams, nutella, fruit salad, and granola and toppings. Additionally, one could order a made-to-order dish as well as any espresso drink or tea. All this was included in the price of the room, which we thought provided a great value. The Hollmann Beletage has a lot of personal, homey touches that truly made us feel comfortable. There were games on the 1st floor we could take down and play, as well as couches to lounge on (with throw blankets!) and magazines. In this area, there were also small sandwiches, delicious Kugelhopf (cake), and sparkling wine set out in the afternoon each day. I've never hung out in the common area of a hotel before, but we took advantage of this every afternoon happened to be in the hotel, and we were not the only ones! On the top floor, there was another common area, with tea and whiskey set up in the afternoon, a computer and printer available, and a lovely fireplace. Because we were here in December, there was also a Christmas tree!!! On Christmas morning, the staff placed packages for the guests in each room under the tree of their lovely homemade jam. Such a special touch! I would not only stay at his hotel whenever I am in Vienna, but I would plan my trip around the hotel's availability, as it is a boutique hotel with only 24 rooms. We stayed at the Penta Hotel in Vienna the night before we flew out, and it only confirmed my love and strong preference for the HB. Don't hesitate to book a room here, you will love it!

Yelp
Excellent customer service. The hotel is just a few blocks from the nearest U-Bahn and in the heart of old Vienna but it's not lacking for space or comfort -- the rooms are spacious and well designed, loads of public space, and plenty of high quality free food is floating around. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The Hollmann Beletage is an über cool boutique hotel perfectly located in the heart of the Innere Stadt of Vienna. Upon arrival, I was a bit worried, it looked like I was entering a somewhat shabby apartment block, however, I quickly found the main door to the Beletage and was immediately impressed. The lobby and common areas are clean and very trendy. There is a small old school cinema in the middle of the first floor which even serves freshly popped pop corn. There are very living room-esque common areas which are great for a quick read or an impromptu meeting. There are also several brightly orange colored bicycles to borrow. My room itself, was large with a massive canopy bed in the middle of the room. Instead of night-time chocolates I received a Pez dispenser and some pez candy on my pillow--what a nifty treat! There was also a bowl of fresh fruit upon arrival. The king-sized bed was comfy though I was a bit dismayed that instead of one large duvet. it came with 2 twin duvets. The rain forest shower was nice and surprisingly located in a closet like alcove---don't worry it is bigger than you'd think. Wifi was free and fast and allowed multiple devices (phone, ipad, and laptop of course) to connect seamlessly. British Airways lost mt luggage on the way to Vienna, but the front desk lady was super helpful offering complimentary toothpaste and toothbrush, helped me find a late night convenience store (harder than you would think in Vienna) and a store that opened up early enough to buy some fresh clothes before my conference. Miriam W is spot on about the breakfast---included in the room rate is a culinary feast of cured meats, fresh croissants and breads, yogurts, and fruits. One of the top breakfasts I've had in some time. Note this is not your typical hotel---the front desk is only open during business hours, however, it's very easy to get in and out of the hotel after hours. Definitley will be staying at the Beletage during future trips to Vienna!

Yelp
The room came with a fruit stand, and a Pez dispenser for each guest! We were confused at first as to why the Pez, but then looked it up and found out that Pez was invented in Vienna. Haha..who woulda thought :) The bed is not one large bed, but rather two smaller beds pushed together, with same sheet but separate duvets. The hotel is located in a rather quiet area on the north side of the inner ring. Access to public transportation is about a 5 minute walk. Stephansdom is within walking distance. The pros 1. I love the open bathroom 2. Great design, spacious rooms, large windows 3. You can rent free iPads! 4. Friendly staff 5. The breakfast is really good, although service can be a bit slow 6. Free lockers on the ground floor to store luggage with a € 2 deposit The downsides 1. There were two tiny bugs crawling around in the bathroom. They were about the size of a period. One was on the wall, and one was on the roll of toilet paper 2. The staff does not stay late, so be wary if you need to check in late
