I usually eat and go... as in I don't always have time to write a review unless the food is too good not to tell the world about, or if it's subpar. Honestly, even when the food is delicious and a perfect meal, I don't always leave a review (busy, busy). However, when the food is blah, I try to remember to leave a review.
I was craving crawfish today. Having grown up in the South, hours from New Orleans, I love, love, love, crawfish, cajun dishes and spicy food. I found this place, read a few reviews and thought I'd give it a try. It wasn't the worst ever but I probably won't return, unless I want crab legs and can't find another spot in the city (which I doubt will ever be the case).
I ordered the crawfish and crab legs combo- mild level. If you're looking for a slightly spicy kick (which I was) don't order mild. There is no spicy kick with mild. Go to the next level or beyond. Actually mild is slightly sweet. On a scale of 1-5, it's a 1.5.
The crab legs were crab legs. Again, the seasoning was a miss and fell flat yet again.
Now about that crawfish, I paid the premium for "fresh/live" crawfish... but they played me. It wasn't fresh. I know fresh crawfish vs frozen. Definitely not fresh... I mean maybe it was fresh a week or so ago when they caught it but ummm, not today sir. lol!
Overall, this place is rated higher than it should be but that comes from someone with high standards as it relates to food. I love tasty, delicious and mouth watering dishes- this was neither. 2 stars for the crawfish and being open, I guess. Oh, yeah... and the drawn butter even tasted weird...
Craving crawfish? ... just book a flight to New Orleans. You won't regret it!
