First of all, I tried to make my concerns known, but was only allowed to send a "brief" message via their company website - guess I'll put it all here!
First of all, the environment and theming of this theater is great, and is definitely the highlight. However, I will NOT be coming back to this theater unless it's for a movie I've already seen multiple times, since there are several experiences that disrupt the movie-going experience.
First, they do not notify you when purchasing a ticket that you will also be required to purchase something to eat/drink while in the movie. This means every single customer has to be bothered while the movie starts by putting in an order. Then, our food (which we ordered at the very start of the movie) did not come for an hour and a half, and was TERRIBLE. They also force you to tip at least 15% for service that is also terrible. Then, to top it all off, throughout the ENTIRE last 30 minutes for the movie (arguably the most important part), the servers go around to every customer and make them pay. Not only does this mean you're distracted yet again from the movie, but you get to HEAR everyone pay out; and I'm not just talking about voices, because this theater also has a little payment machine that LOUDLY beeps every time someone pays. So, during the murder mystery movie I came to watch, while the literal mystery is finally being explained, every two seconds it sounded like a microwave was going off and I was distracted by a high-pitched beeping noise.
When I spoke to a manager about this experience, he simply smiled and said there's nothing they can do about it, because the sound can't be turned off and they cash out during the last 30 minutes. NOTHING you can do? Here are multiple things that would easily solve this issue:
1. Buy new payment machines. I've been to plenty of places that don't require sounds when paying. Get the little white square! You're already using iPads.
2. Want to save money? Put tape on the freaking speaker of the machine so it isn't so loud. Or, open them up and cut the wire connected to the speaker so it doesn't work at all!
3. Don't make people pay during the last 30 minutes of the movie! Every single person is REQUIRED to purchase something, so either go around during the CREDITS, or have people at the exit to checkout customers. There is no reason we should be interrupted during the movie we already paid for, just so we can pay even more money to the establishment.
