A tentative agreement between unionized workers and Detroit’s casinos has been reached - Eater Detroit

"Hollywood Casino at Greektown is one of the main venues discussed in the article. The casino's vice president, John Drake, expressed happiness over the mutually beneficial agreement and the anticipation of welcoming back their team members." - Serena Maria Daniels

Detroit casino workers have gone on strike | Eater Detroit

"Employees at this Detroit casino joined the citywide strike and began picketing to push for wage increases, improved retirement and healthcare benefits, protections against job losses from new technologies, and lighter workloads after pandemic-era staffing reductions. The negotiating coalition — including UNITE HERE Local 24, the UAW, Teamsters, Operating Engineers and Carpenters — spent hundreds of hours bargaining and advanced a strike authorization when talks stalled; unions emphasize that gaming revenue has rebounded to record levels even as union wages lagged. The operator responded that it plans to remain open during the strike, said it has made ‘‘generous, progressive’’ settlement offers, and expressed a commitment to continue bargaining in good faith." - Serena Maria Daniels

Supporters of Maple Creek Organic Farm are raising funds so the beloved farm can remain in operation | Eater Detroit

"Staff at this downtown Detroit casino authorized a near-unanimous strike vote after months of negotiations led by the Detroit Casino Council and multiple unions. Key bargaining issues include securing raises, strengthening retirement provisions, and safeguarding jobs from technological changes; union leaders characterize the move as a response to economic pressures and restored industry profits not being shared with workers, and say strikes could be called when contracts expire in mid-October." - Serena Maria Daniels

The rooms aren’t very clean. For a hotel like this I expect it to be spotless. I’ve stayed here 3 different occasions and each time there were some dirty spots. Shower had small strands of hair, dirt coming off the inside of shower door when the water hits it. There were water spots on the bathroom doors. The sink had dirt underneath the counter and faucet. They need to do a better job with details and deep cleaning. I was never able to connect my Netflix to the TV with my mobile devices. They do not have many dining options for breakfast and lunch in the hotel. One Dunkin’ Donuts for breakfast and 1 sports bar for lunch. One time only 1 elevator out of 4 was working and we waited over 1/2 hour. I do enjoy the spacious room and nice view. Fitness center is adequate.

Google
Great location, great view from our room, up-to-date decor, I liked the walk-in shower with the glass door. Lots of places to eat on-site, I especially liked the ESPN BET restaurant. The food was good and reasonably priced. That brings me to what I didn't like. There were times when I had more food than what I could eat and I needed to get a to-go box. There are refrigerators in the rooms but no microwave anywhere on the premises. I understand it may be a safety issue but it seems they could have microwaves somewhere that could be easily monitored by staff. Also, I don't mind that they don't do daily housekeeping but they could at least have trash bags for the trash cans and somewhere to dump your trash. I had to try to catch up with housekeeping everyday to get rid of our trash. Other than that, everything else was great.

Google
The valet attendant was very nice, friendly, and pleasant. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown, and the view from the room was superb. However, the toilet and coffee machine were broken, and the noise at night was quite disturbing. The front desk service was okay but didn’t go above and beyond to make guests feel cared for. Overall, it was an acceptable stay, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

Google
We paid for one night, a 2bed queen. It stunk like old cigars. The grout in the bathroom appeared to never been deep cleaned. There is visible dirt and hair on the floor and some unknown substance in the shower. The curtains were stained with chocolate, maybe? There was a piece of dog food by the closet, and nothing has been dusted in a long time. Not impressive. The location is great, but don't bother paying for a room. If you can use points from a CC, great but otherwise hopefully there's better accommodations to be had.

Crustina G.

Google
They have A LOT of keno machines! The other casino in town that I used to frequent has gotten rid of all but 5 of the keno machines I like and all of the slots I played so I come to greektown now. It's a much nicer experience imo. They don't hassle me for ID every time I enter, which is nice considering I'm double the age required to enter the casino.

Devin J.

Google
Unfortunately most of the staff in the casino was less than friendly. The room was clean enough, but after paying for a late checkout, still got a wake up call by room service. This casino used to be better than this. I’d chose to stay and gamble at MGM if I’m staying in Detroit.

Rebecca W.

Google
Booked through expedia and had a great experience! Check in was quick and the ladies at the front desk were so sweet. We got a room on the 24th floor which seemed to be newly renovated. It was clean and cute! I love the amount of mirrors with outlets nearby, it makes multiple people needing to get ready in a room easier. A major bonus was the complimentary shuttle to the event venue we were going to! Negatives: - construction in the area made it super difficult to find/access parking garage. - elevators were quite slow. - there was an open leftover waterbottle in the fridge from a previous guest

Maya B.

Google
I stayed overnight the room was clean & cozy. The staff were helpful & friendly, Especially Micheal(during check out today)! I had two encounters with 2 different 2nd floor bartenders, male & female; they both sucked without going into details... And I still tipped them. Staff on the floor was 5star

Yelp
Very clean casino. Our fav in Detroit. Nice area with things to do outside the venue too. It's a bit confusing if you're a first time visitor. The casino is a separate building, and a short covered walk from the hotel and parking deck. Level 3 of the hotel/parking deck connects to Level 2 of the casino building. Remember that and you'll be good. We had a couple people ask us for directions. The lower level of the casino is smoke-free. The upper-level is mostly smoking with a couple smaller smoke-free areas. Couldn't find any coffee on the casino floor. Also didn't observer much drink service. Bar was closed at 11am, but we aren't morning drinkers so just pointing that out. We stayed at the hotel too. It's nice and the rates are reasonable for the price. No complaints.

Yelp
Good day, This email is in regards to our recent stay for the Detroit auto show charity event. This was our first stay at your casino, as we normally stay at  MGM Hotel/Casino. We were very perplexed that we had absolutely no way to shower without hot or even warm water.   I contacted guest services asking about the situation and was told the boiler was down and to wait 30 minutes, still no hot water. I was then told we were sorry, they're still working on the boiler, and they could credit my bill $25 and not charge me for the late checkout.  I do understand things happen beyond our control. My concern is with the response and how this was handled as your patron. First, let me explain that I did not need a late checkout however, waiting for hot water led me to stay over.  I explained my reasoning for not checking out on time and was told they would let housekeeping know not to bother me again due to the circumstances and would go ahead with an extra $25 m.   I told the agent that that wasn't going to work!  I was then put on hold, and a few minutes later, he said, "How about $100 total off of your bill?".  I wasn't going to argue at that point, but having paid $400 for the night without water seems a bit ridiculous.  I want to explain that I didn't need just a hotel room to sleep in. I needed a room to shower in so that I could continue back to the auto show to fulfill my obligations as a partner - dealer principal of two dealerships.    I'm assuming this information will help so that you can adequately adjust my stay to compensate for the lack of benefits your hotel should have properly given me.  I await your reply on how I can move forward with my review on Google and Yelp.  We want to consider your hotel-casino again for future endeavors.   Regards,

Yelp
This place was meh at best. Not sure I would be back. It's dingy and dirty. It's nothing like what one would expect, at least not what I would have expected. There seems to be a lot of folks there that seem like they were likely regulars. They seemed almost robotic in their actions. Don't go here expecting an upbeat environment.

Yelp
We stopped in after breakfast before checking out of our hotel and heading to the airport. It was pretty empty and quiet. Numerous slot machines but no video poker machines and no wheel of fortune. Not much luck either.

Yelp
We had such a terrible experience on our last trip. It started out when my husband and friend ordered two white russians and I ordered a wine and the bartender said it would be $45. We were flabbergasted at the price and said no place charges like that and she said well I don't work there and this is what we charge. gotcha. I tried using my FreePlay at four different machines and four out of four You couldn't even punch in your pin number because the screens were broken. I was finally able to find a machine that you could do it on and then the machine locked up on me. No one came to help and thankfully the machine figured itself out and I was able to get my money out. My husband went and asked for a floor manager and the pit boss said he would be over and he never showed up. We went back to the pit boss and the guy had an attitude and said well we're just short staffed. Sorry about that. Good luck out there. These are reasons why I normally do not come to Hollywood casino and I would rather put my money elsewhere, but my friends wanted to get their gift card so we bit the bullet and went. This experience will definitely stick out in my mind. I'm not gonna put my money into a casino with piss poor service and management.

Yelp
Went to pick up winnings, since it would not allow me to cash out on the app. Was charged $27 in parking for 30 minutes. Will no longer be using the app or the casino.
google avatar

DiAndra H.

Yelp
The casino was nice, plenty of spots to grab something to eat before or while gambling. Clean for the most part, plenty of security, mix crowd of people. Will return when back in town.
google avatar

Yelp
I like the GreekTOWN casino and I usually feel like I win more than at Hollywood Toledo. Since I've quit smoking, the cigarette smell can be a little overwhelming though. It's a great place to park for free, gamble a little, and then walk around downtown. Astoria pastry shop is right outside and you can now use your rewards points there. If you need to use the restroom, head to the high limit room. Clean and secluded.

Yelp
I made a reservation with this hotel back in march of 2024 for check in Sept 12, 24. The first of august I canceled the reservation because my plans had changed. There are policy states that you can cancel anytime before forty eight hours before check in. So in hindsight I canceled One month prior. On the morning of september 13, 24... I received four and the press a charge of $334.00 From my bank account From the hotel. I have emails And confirmations from the hotel, stating that it was canceled back in august. They refused to refund my money. After having my bank try to reach out to them, they will no longer return my phone calls. Think about it if they do this ofte., How much are they profiting? I need my money and i've contacted the better business bureau, And even though it's only three hundred dollars, i'm going to let the world know how crooked these people are.

Yelp
Hi! Went to Hollywood casino in Detroit recently and was very disappointed in the atmosphere inside, particularly the smoking areas are basically everywhere in the casino. it really punishes the people who don't smoke at all and are subject of being in a smoke cloud the whole night. why can't you guys put the smokers in a separate isolated room (like MGM does), instead of non smokers having to deal with that. I think you lost a customer in me. Sorry BK

chris b.

Yelp
Absolutely awful staff. Not one of them wants to work our has any clue on how to provide the proper customer service. We checked in and the woman at the counter began doing it then walked away. Another gentleman came Out and finished it. Latonya had something else to do? Did she not know how to do it? Was there a problem? We don't know since she said nothing. We called for toilet paper and the front desk said "it's going to be a while". We stayed at the MGM and Caesars and Windsor and they know how to take care Of their guests. We booked this place due to location, never Again!!!!

Matt E.

Yelp
I was not aware this was a smoking casino. In their non-smoking area there was only a limited selection of slots. I will not be returning

Yelp
Hollywood has taken over Greektown and so far that seems to be a good thing. The Rock Bar is a new addition that caters to a younger crowd. Barstool Sportsbook offers bar food that is slightly more upscale and delicious. Love the new changes and they offer such great entertainment. I've seen Johnny Mathis, Dionne Warwick and Tracy Morgan in the last few months. Love the fact there smoking sections back, and I'm not even a smoker. Great customer service and a fun place to try your luck!

Yelp
I must say this is my favorite casino in Detroit! Lively, lots of space, great parking and there are a few Dunkin Donuts inside among some other great spots to get food and drinks! It is located right in Greektown where there are some great restaurants and it is centrally located where you are in walking distance of many Detroit area attractions!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been coming here since they opened but I will not be back again. They want to charge us $30 to check in 15 minutes early. So we are sitting in the lobby. They also will charge you $10 to make a reservation via a live person. I think they make enough money off us in the casino. Never again..... if I could, I'd cancel my reservation for tonight.
google avatar

Yelp
I like this casino. They have made a bunch of upgrades, including a revamped food court, with Taco's & Dunkin Donuts among my favs. They also added a non smoking room, which I appreciate as well.

Yelp
Staying at Hollywood has become one of my favorite things to do when I'm in need of a staycation. In the heart of EVERYTHING. Casino is well kept, my room is always super clean, the staff is so helpful. Definitely recommend staying here.

Frederick S.

Yelp
First off, they no longer give you a cord with your card, so you WILL lose your card before the end of the night. 2nd, getting a waitress to come to where you are playing with drinks is impossible. 3rd, they have 90% Asian gambling machines, what is that??? 4th, I go there to play, not to win, but there are NO winners there. I seen NOONE winning, no lights going off like they were in Toledo. I will not be going back there. Not worth it. Send those non-winning machines back to Asia.

Yelp
First time here. We figured we were here for a week. Let's try another casino hotel. Pictures on Yelp and the YouTube videos made it look good. Smooth check-in. The valet was a nice guy. Don't be cheap, people tip the Valet. One thing I wish the receptionist would have done is to see if this was our first visit. First impressions are everything, but she didn't. I'm not looking for a free upgrade, but if we could have a room with a better view or something like that, it would have been great. In the end it doesn't cost you anything. Or I wish she would have asked if we would like to upgrade. We could have asked to, but as cold as it was and us having our teenage daughter, we were just trying to get into the room.. once we get in, you can tell it's very modern and may have been recently renovated room. One thing I normally do before unpacking I inspect the room, but of course, not this night. First trip to the restroom I noticed many things. The cleanliness of the bathroom was horribly done. I could see pee spots on the front of the toilet bowl, The base of the toilet was yellow, the grout was black, and then I realized it was actually white . Months of dust on the top of the baseboard (tile). I spent 45 min cleaning the restroom just so I didn't inconvenience my wife and kid. Didn't want to go back downstairs with all our luggage. The other issue we noticed for some reason many people working at the hotel were more worried about talking about their day than acknowledging a customer. Some of the employees there seemed inconvenienced when asking a question. First night, Valet was great. The first night of gambling started badly. The area where you get your players' card was not maned. The person was on break. Went to the machine to print one out of all out of service. I've never been to a casino where you don't have anyone to make a players card. Somehow, we got directed to a black jack table, and he as well could not assist. He referred us to the high limit area, and Britney took care of us. Turned a bad start to our gaming into a good one for that Tuesday night. Coming from Texas to experience inconvenience and crazy attitudes was not good. We usually stay at MGM, and we kind of regret staying here. I'll post some pics of the room experience. We also encountered some attitudes at the sports book restaurant. Check out my review on Yelp. This property is in a good location and has the potential to be as good or better than MGM. last day experience. We called the front desk to see if we could have a late check out. Quickly said we would have to pay more. Said ok how much she said 50 some dollars. I said that is fine. So check out is now at 12 noon. At 11:30, housekeeping knocks on the door. I opened the door, and she said, "You guys are leaving?" we need to clean the room. I told her we paid for the extra hour. Just got this look of whatever. So as we were trying to finish packing and we had 17 min left. I hear housekeeping knocking again. At this point, my wife, who had surgery and barely move opens the door and tells her in pain that we needed 10 more minutes, and we'll be out. Housekeeping finally backed off. My wife was still nice enough to leave a tip for housekeeping. As we walked out, the housekeeping lady did say hope she felt better. I guess that counts for something. Went down to check out and noticed that the lady whomever we got on the phone didn't charge us for the extra hour. We appreciated that. We are from Texas, had a person who had surgery, and had a teenage daughter. I would hope the employees working there would recognize situations like that and use that to create a positive customer service review. So we greatly appreciated the person not charging us half the cost of what a night costs. I think 2 1/2 star is appropriate, but I'll round up for the few positives.

Yelp
Kelly was VERY helpful explaining the event. I was VERY late so I was only able to get a drink. It didn't help that I had gotten lost in the casino so I was only present for the last 10 minutes of the event. Don't have much of a review to give, unfortunately!

Yelp
We had our family reunion here this past weekend Friday through Sunday. We had a banquet room for 2 nights and a conference room for breakfast Sunday. ALL 3 days the food was cold, not seasoned, just horrible. The eggs were powdered and runny, the fruit had mold on it. The waiter staff had bad attitudes never opened their mouth to say hello, please, thank you. Needed a roll of toilet paper in the room it was never bought up I had to go to the front desk to get. We will not be back especially after the high bill for mediocre service.

Nikola G.

Yelp
Food is horrible especially their knew asian kitchen cuisine..No taste no value 22.00dollars for shrimp curry ..bell pepper white rice and 5 popcorn shrimp..they never have soup .. always out of edamame..Their 10dollar egg roll what a sham as well as their 15 dollar pot stickers..crab ragoon 15 dollars..of jokes..when u ask them for chili sauce to some what add at least a little flavor..they say we don't have any..they give u hot sauce..and I am a Elite card carrying patron .filthy bathrooms and tables.. especially now since they paid off their busboys and bare minimum maintenance care for the tables and bathrooms.. please bring it own towels and toilet essentials

Yelp
I stopped in to place some sports bets at the heralded ESPN sports book, expecting a nice, new, classy operation. I felt dirty the minute I walked into the casino, as it is pretty gross. You can almost see the air, and there is a very unclean feel about the place. I couldn't find an actual person working a sports book counter, only finding several machines on which to place bets outside the sports bar. We asked THREE different employees where the in-person sports book was located, and we received THREE different answers. After twenty minutes of searching, we finally gave up and left. This was not a fun experience. There is a very sad, tired, almost desperate atmosphere at this casino, and I have a hard time seeing how anyone could have fun there.
google avatar

Steve Z.

Yelp
Decent place but not very accessible for handicapped people. The casino is a long, carpeted bridge from the hotel, so it was very taxing for our Son in a wheelchair. The staff was great however, so they certainly tried to make the stay a nice one. I don't think we'll be back here, given there are plenty of other options in the city of Detroit.
google avatar

Amy T.

Yelp
Horrible! Their workers on strike! 90% of staff on strike. DONT GO TIL strike over. The place is dirty. Trash cans over flowing, no toilet paper and cigarettes everywhere. One bathroom open, no food venues open. Barely any tables open cause they wont give dealers a fair raise so their on strike too. One bar open and no servers. Pay your workers Penn they deserve it.

Yelp
This was one of the worst Hotels I have ever stayed at. 1. Check-in It was 3 workers at the desk looking down they looked up saw us waiting and looked back down never said Hi or I will be with you shortly. I get checked in nothing was explained, (nothing about Wi-Fi or that they don't clean the rooms) Bellhop helps us to the room, we get to the room it is footprints on the bedspread, stuff all over the floor and countertops in bathroom dirty. Bellhop takes pictures puts luggage back on cart and we go back downstairs for new room. Same lady who helped us gives us a new room and stated " Hope this room is clean if not come back downstairs" We go to the 2nd room and same thing its dirty. We go back downstairs and this time ask to speak to a Manger who gave us a new room and $50 credit. We get to the room it's clean but the safe is not cleared out from prior guest and the Toilet is not flushing correctly. (both issues got corrected that day) The 2nd day we are back we come back, and room is not clean we called front desk and inquired, and we were told at that time they do not clean rooms everyday (Even though you are charged a daily amenity fee) The toilet is not working again, the Safe is stuck. I asked for the Manager and was told it's a line at the desk and I would have to wait. Someone did bring towels up even though they were damp. Manager called me back; I started address my concerns and she stated well a Manager gave you a comp yesterday. I had to stop her to tell her that was for the problems yesterday we have a whole set of problems today, and I was not trying to get any money back or anything comp, I was highlhy disappointed in the service that I had received. I will never stay here and will recommened tfhat none of my family and friends stay as well.

Yelp
Front counter people very unprofessional and not helpful, the one black lady unhelpful and doesn't care about you or your stay

Yelp
No STAR Would BE MOST APPROPRIATE. It's 5:15 pm check in is at 4pm and the room isn't ready. Wow Celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in Hollywood Casino Hotel in Michigan. What I know is checking in is SLOW as *%ck! Hopefully it gets better from here. We've been in line for an hour and some and the lobby lights have been turn up because it's getting late and it was dark in this lobby. No Manager has said sorry for the inconvenience or the long wait. Very disappointed and that's being polite. Jeff was as helpful as much as he could be. Kudos to front desk employee Jeff (Thank you). I would take a picture but I don't want to put anyone on BLAST.

Yelp
Total scam-- like all casinos are. No big surprise there. If you're white-- and need a room at the GREEKTOWN CASINO HOTEL-- think twice. Also, the rooms need to be cleaner and the hallways are always dirty. On top of all that I can't believe they can even breathe there's so much marijuana smoke everywhere. Did I get rubbed the wrong way? You betcha, but everything I said is true ‍
google avatar

Jess L.

Yelp
The rooms here are nice. Clean and free parking. Nothing crazy spectacular though. The casino itself was redone in the past few years and definitely has a better feel than ten years ago. What makes this casino/hotel is the location. It's right in the middle of Greektown and walking distance to multiple other establishments- numerous bars and restaurants. While MGM and Motor City are nicer casinos with better bars inside and better in-house dining options, they are not walkable like Hollywood Casino. Overall, if you are looking to explore the area around you and want to be able to walk around, this is a good spot.
google avatar

Jon G.

Yelp
In the depths of the greektown casino, we had an excellent time celebrating at another Yelp Elite event. The bar was filled with regulars like an episode of cheers. The staff was absolutely delightful. Great time, and a knowledgeable staff when it comes to making well crafted cocktails.

Dave M.

Yelp
Heidi D the Marketing Coordinator is a huge asset to this business. She assisted me with an issue today and I could not be happier. Her professionalism, understanding, listening and respect are out of this world. There are not enough STARS to place on the experience. I do not know who her Boss/Manager is however it is my sincere hope that she will atleast be recognized by that person. It's so very challenging these days to find dedicated employees let alone someone like Heidi D. Grateful beyond belief. WOW!!! Thank you Heidi for your help. Dave

Yelp
Friendly staff, GREAT check in, clean (modern) rooms. We were very happy and comfortable during our stay. Five Star experience!

Yelp
The online casino for Hollywood Greektown is horrible! I put in $50 and won $200, went to cash out and I have to wait three days to get my money. You can't borrow against the house for three days and then pay them back. So stupid! Every other casino app you get to cash out immediately for online gambling. So dumb. Get with the program HOLLYWOOD! Terrible, never again!! Going to FanDuel where you get to cash out ASAP, and the $$ you win is yours when you want it!!

George H.

Yelp
Would have given a ZERO if that were possible. After checking out they charged my credit card amounts that were not disclosed when I checked in. BEWARE: They will try to charge you for things you never purchased and will charge you fees that they don't tell you about.

N N.

Yelp
I live in Vegas and decided to stay here for 5 days. Here is my experience in the Casino. The tables are an absolute joke. For the blackjack table, they trick you into sitting down and buying chips by showing you the minimum bet is 5 dollars and the game ISN'T EVEN BLACKJACK! I sat down, got 100 in chips, and put a 5 dollar chip down. The dealer informs me that the minimum is not in fact 5, but it is 15. He also informed me that its not traditional 21 blackjack, but has some kind of weird poker rules involved which completely threw me off. The dealer looked like he wanted to quit his job so bad. In fact all the staff looked misserable and some we're incredibly aggressive and rude. So if you like being mistreated while losing all your money - totally go here. I got up and went to roulette where the dealer starts yelling at me for holding money out to him over the wheel. Actually made a huge scene about it. At this point I lost about $200 at the tables and another $800 at slots over the course of 5 days. I come from the mecca of gambling and this place is the biggest rip off casino to ever exist in all my 36 years. Not a single bonus spin at the slots and the tables are total obvious scams. The drinks are never free - even if you're gambling but they will have you believe so and not inform you. This casino is an absolute disgrace and I hope this review really helps someone NOT go here for ANYTHING! You will not be entertained. You will be tricked and taken advantage of in the most insulting way possible. This is not vegas. This is detroit. Lesson learned. I won't be back.

Yelp
Hollywood Casino at Greektown...formally Greektown is my favorite Casino Downtown! No matter what you always feel welcome here, it's easily accessible from the highway. The parking garage is so easy to navigate and then you just take the elevators and tunnel right over to the casino. It's large with multiple areas and ll is the regular casino favorites. I always seem to win something here (even if it's just $10) and for some reason my luck is non existent and most of the other casinos around here lol. They have great places to eat and drink. I recently checked out the Rock Bar and the drinks are amazing!

Yelp
Will update with photos Horrible!! Wish there was a way to add videos.A/C started squeeling @5:30am..they switched us rooms. 2nd room in it the 10min, sat down to eat and a roach ran across the desk..we packed up and checked out!! Made an incident report...no one has called me yet!!...Been 4 days. I have video of the roach walking on desk and of the loud squeeling!!. I hope I do not get one of the generic responses for me to contact them by email. I made an incident report and my contact info is on it. Will update her if I'm contacted or not ...been 6 days so far no response. Made reservations for 2 days left after 1. Roach checked in we checked out.

Yelp
The casino is not very clean. The smoke smell is very strong. Make sure to keep your eyes on Your belongings. My cell phone was left at a machine. Gone in minutes. Security not concerned I was told they don't look at the cameras. They never asked for my name or number in case it was found. They acted as if it happens all the time. Cop cars we're outside with lights and sirens later in the night. I will never return again.

Yelp
Huge disappointment! If the prices per night are going to triple because of a huge event night, Taylor Swift concert, then there should be more staff to handle the demand. The fact that there were so many people hanging around the lobby hopelessly waiting for a chance to check in was absolutely ridiculous. Shame on this hotel. I will never come back as a guest since all that matters is making money based on a sold out event in town. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE.

Yelp
After a year or so break I have returned to Greektown casino. The new owners have settled a few kinks and implemented new programs. I like the changes in rewards and promotions. The games are in overall good working order. The staff are very pleasant and professional. The facility is clean. I love swirling up the the garage to get to my parking space. The riff-raff seems to be higher here than at the other casinos but I still feel safe. Overall, I enjoy playing the slots here at Greektown. They do have table games for those that love that type of playing. They also have large screen tv's for those that like playing sports betting. Come on down to Greektown.

Yelp
If I could do negative stars there would not be enough. Stayed in a $600 room on the 28th floor to go see the tigers get blown out by the Astros. Only reason I chose this crap hole is because it is a 10 minute walk to the stadium. My family and I got up the next morning, I go downstairs to get breakfast on the 3rd floor at Dunkin Doughnuts. Ended up being called a "Bitch ASS Nigga" by 3 black female hotel workers after they already were being rude, unresponsive refused to quit gabbing and get the manager that me, and 4 other guest were waiting on for 30 minutes. Threatened and assualted by a security guard after confronting this horrible person for even using that word, was denied the right to speak to a manager, and 10 minutes later the police threw us out on our asses without letting me show them the video evidence that I have showing these events. They wanted me out of there before I could get my side in, but unfortunately for them, I am not the ignorant one and and have already filed a police report, and am working on doing what I can to prevent this from happening to others. They actually lied and said I was the one doing the threatening THEM, and have EVERYTHING ON TAPE AS WELL AS THEY DO. Attorney will be grabbing that footage. Regards,

Yelp
This was my first time back here in a number of years. I went to register for a mychoice card. The line to activate cards was a bit lengthy as some of the machines were malfunctioning. I eventually got one to work and received $10 in Free SlotPlay. I was glad to have my Aunt with me to determine an area to play in. Once I found an area and selected a slot. I had some luck in less than an hour of playing.

Yelp
The good: the service folks are extremely polite and nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable The bad 1. No restaurant. Regardless of what they tell you there is no restaurant in the building. The hotel is not associated with any restaurant. all the restaurant information they give you if they tell you that there's anything other than no restaurant is not true. They claim that they are connected to a casino. The casino and the restaurants are not in this building. Be clear about that. If you don't mind going out to find a restaurant, then you will like it here. In order to get food and work in the lobby I had to go to Uber eats and have Uber eats deliver to the lobby, which is where I eat. There is nowhere else to get a bite to eat or to sit down and have a meal in this building. 2. No bar. You can wait until the front desk is finished serving anybody who's waiting to check in and they will go in some back room and come out with a beer for you if you would like. And you can drink it in the lobby which was freezing cold when I sat there, drinking my beer out of a can. 3. No room service. Probably related to the fact that there is no restaurant for them to serve you from.

Yelp
Good location with proximity to restaurants and other points of interests. I believe the attached parking lot is a paid lot however on the day we stayed at the hotel, they had free parking. The hotel seems like it was recently remodeled. It was very clean. You need a room key to use the elevator to access the room floors which is nice. The river view from the higher floors offer a nice view or as nice as can be for downtown Detroit. The casino was clean and have a lot of slots on two floors and decent amount of table games on the upper level. The dealers and staff are nice. Some of the customers walking around can be sketchy.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been here and it is one of, if not, my favorite casinos in the LP of Michigan. I've celebrated endless birthdays here and have came here just for the drinks and atmosphere, since I'm not a gambler myself. But meh, COVID-19 sucks so all the bars were closed and restaurants were carry-out only which left me more ready to leave than anything. I don't understand how casinos can be open but the services inside are closed. On the plus side, a woman (I think her name was Erin) at the service center was so friendly! I felt like I was talking to a good friend while talking to her.

Yelp
Fun, clean casino. There are some hidden nooks for non-smokers which I found worked perfectly fine to have a few drinks while playing penny slots. Overall, we had a lot of fun. Glad they settled the labor dispute so that we could enjoy the fun!
