I am writing to share my recent disappointing experience at Hollywood Casino in Perryville. My wife and I have been patrons since its opening in 2010, and while we've observed a decline over the years, our visit on a Friday at 9:00 PM was particularly unsatisfactory.
Upon arrival, we found that half of the casino was shut down, including the bar. We were surprised that the bar was closed on a Friday night, and the reduced number of operational machines made it extremely difficult to find an available one to play. The atmosphere felt notably somber, which detracted from our ability to enjoy ourselves.
Additionally, I encountered a frustrating situation while attempting to play a slot machine. After locating an apparently available machine, another patron, who was actively playing a different machine, claimed it as her own. Despite the machine being empty and part of a separate bank of machines, a casino employee intervened and confirmed her claim, stating, "that is her machine." This policy of holding machines, especially when half of the casino is closed, is concerning.
Given these issues, my wife and I decided to leave without even playing through the $300 we had intended to gamble. Based on our experience, we would advise others to avoid this establishment.
