I had the nerve to gatekeep Hollywood Oyster Company, but sharing is caring! Gather with your oyster lovers as these orders come in quantities off 50 and our oyster lover truly have hard time abiding by daily limits. Ha! All jokes aside the process from inquiry , online ordering and delivery is seemless. I called a few times to understand if the oysters would be shucked and they are not but they do sell two different shucking knives. After chatting with a phone rep about the process and being encouraged to check out shucking videos on the safety l, i was up for a challenge. I placed my order and this bad boys arrived about 2 days later. I ordered the Sweet Jesus …and my were they a hit. Butter, clean fresh taste. And i impressed my family as i was shucking like a pro. The order arrives on ice , well packed with instruction on how to store them so they stay alive. I was able to serve these raw, baked grilled for a bout two to three days and they really held up as i kept a damn cloth on them and them on refreshed ice. My knowledge about HOC is my new little party trick for parties i host and endearing treat for my east coast friends who now longer have access to the freshness of local oysters. Id mentioned that i ordered the Sweet Jesus but they do have 2-3 other options that you can order that are well described on their website .
