On the Grid : Hollywood Park Casino

"Hollywood Park Casino just underwent a massive upgrade. The new casino is the first operating building in the Hollywood Park development, which will later feature the future Inglewood Stadium, home to both the LA Rams and LA Chargers NFL teams. Check out the Casino while traffic around the area is still civilized." - Aero Collective

LA Bars and Restaurants Where You Can Watch Football | Eater

"Located in the Hollywood Park Casino, this restaurant features classic American fare, including steaks and salads, as well as a selection of beers and great cocktails. You can make a reservation or walk in, and it’s a fairly casual environment to watch a football game. Note that there are events that happen on premise often, during which you can only order from the Quick Bites or Event menu, which offer more limited (but still delicious) options. And the best part? It’s open late on weekends." - Samantha Leal

Google
Newly remodeled Hollywood Park Casino. Great new look. Atmosphere kind of layed back for a Casino but staff very friendly and these players are serious about their poker. The drive was a nightmare but we'll worth it A fun time and mildly profitable.

Paid parking available. I came for a little concert at the bar area. Drinks were pricey and tasty. The bartenders were friendly and offered great service. Intimate stage it was a great size. I passed the casino floor level there were cool slot machines. Good Luck!

Google
Great parking and nice casino. But the grounds are pared down considerably now since there is no longer horse racing. Convenient to SoFi Stadium and CosM, as well as the Intuit Dome/Inglewood basketball arena.

Be aware of the bartenders here. They often hide the Happy Hour menu underneath so they can charge you full price, even on slow weekdays. I’ve been going to Hollywood Park since 2016, almost 10 years now, and this has happened several times. Even when I specifically asked for Happy Hour, the menu was not presented, and of course when the bill comes, the drinks are charged at regular price. If you’re even a little tipsy, it’s easy to miss until it’s too late. This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed it, but now I feel like I should warn others. Especially watch out for the older bartender who has been working here for a long time — everyone recognizes him. I still enjoy coming here, but this kind of practice really takes away from the experience. Management should make sure Happy Hour is honored properly without trying to hide it.

I was doing the math here but something didn’t add up. There’s $10 extra dollars I was charged and not listed for. Unsure if $15 + $15 is $40. I’m not trusting the employees are aware of what’s going on here. Please be aware of your tab !

I had the worst casino experience of my life at Hollywood Park Casino, and I’m saying this as someone who has visited casinos all over the world. The moment I walked in, I realized something was off. Their blackjack tables use a strange variation of the game I haven’t seen anywhere else, it pays 6 to 5 which any blackjack player knows is horrible and that alone gives the house a huge edge, and as if that’s not bad enough, they use continuous shufflers. However, I had already driven all the way there so figured I’d at least give it a shot. As soon as I put my chips on the table, the dealer tells me I need to pay a $1 commission for every single hand I play. I’ve never in my life had to pay to play blackjack. Still, for some reason I just went along with it. The game itself was even worse. The continuous shuffler was obviously rigged and was killing the entire table. The only time anyone had a chance was when they had a 20 or a blackjack. The dealer’s 4–6 rarely busted even though the math shows those cards are highly likely to bust. Furthermore, I watched them pull 5–6 card 21s off a 5-6 multiple times, and I’ve played enough blackjack to know how abnormal that is. It felt blatantly unfair and to be honest it sucked all the fun out of a game that is supposed to be fun. I decided to leave blackjack and try baccarat instead, thinking it would be a better experience, because at the end of the day I enjoy gambling and I just want to have a good experience whether I win or lose. But my experience at the baccarat table was somehow even worse! I sat at an empty table while the dealer was shuffling. When she handed me the cut card, I did what I’ve done at countless other casinos and have witnessed many other gamblers doing, I swiped it through the deck with the card to find that sweet spot. Immediately, the dealer got rude, aggressively snatched the card right out of my hand, and said she’d have to reshuffle. I was so shocked! I’ve never seen a dealer react like that nor have I ever known this was even an issue. After reshuffling, instead of handing the cut card back to me (the only player actually at the table) she asked a random person just walking by to cut the deck. That person even asked why I wasn’t cutting it, and the dealer responded “He no cut, he make me shuffle again.” right in front of me. At that point I didn’t even want to play there anymore, all that negative energy isn’t for me. So I got up and got out. I will never be coming back to this casino. Everything from the unfair games to the hostile attitude of the staff. If you value your money, your time, or even basic respect, I strongly advise you to avoid Hollywood Park Casino.

Yelp
Taste: 5 Creativity/Authenticity: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Service: 5 Bang for your buck: 5 Hidden gem and best kept secret, the restaurant here has some of the best food in LA. Even the spinach artichoke dish was insanely good, best I've had so far, the most basic dishes like the chicken strips WTH! Whoever's in the kitchen, wow props to the chef! Will be back to try everything else after I loose in baccarat lol

Yelp
I live in LV and am used to a completely different environment. Nonetheless this is my honest rating. I wouldn't recommend it . We played poker and it was so disorganized. We didn't know where we were supposed to check in and when we thought we found the place he points and says "check in is there" (no idea where there is) but says he will check us in anyway and they will call my name. Minutes later they call my initials and my bf saying that my seat is on. When I check in I ask where my table is and she says "your table ain't ready." My bf who was literally right behind me then says he's here. The lady says "I don't have a JH you must've taken more than 5 min." What? We got call at the same time and walked up at the same time. Anyway when I finally get called I have no idea where we are going or where we get chips. Moving on. My bf asked the supervisor if he can get a new card. While he grabs his ID I asked for mine too and he didn't look happy. Ordered 2 drinks and it was $46 plus tip. Shortly after we called for cocktails and waited 2 hours - I'm not exaggerating. Sure you can walk to the bar but doing that means losing playing time and they also take forever. In short, the workers are rude. The vibe is off. Employees all look miserable like they don't want to be there. The poker room is unorganized. They run out of chips or are not quick enough to get them. Yan the dealer was cool and Shemar the server was friendly. I prefer the bike. PS - after getting super slow service the server came to use at 1:40 am and said she's taking our drinks in 15 min. I understand there are laws here in Cali but by far the worst experience ever.

Yelp
This establishment shows potential but needs significantly better management. They should be trained to handle harassment situations appropriately and ensure that men who step in don't face unfair repercussions when security fails. Bartenders also need to maintain professionalism and avoid passive-aggressive behavior towards patrons. Our dreadful experience on a busy Sunday, following the Chargers vs. Raiders game, revealed severe shortcomings. The bartender in the Chiefs jersey was particularly surly, charging my group varying prices for the same drink and treating us as an inconvenience. While I understand he may have had a bad day, he should either manage his attitude or excuse himself if he cannot be courteous. Given the horrid service and the poor treatment of my husband, I will not return, despite the convenience of this location after a game.

Yelp
Beautiful and free parking including valet for $5. No slot machines, no roulette.. just Texas Holden, blackjack, and baccarat. The crowd is vibrant with a variety of ethnicities. Must bring picture ID to enter.

Rob F.

Yelp
One of the best casinos in LA. I mostly just play tournaments and they are very well run. The staff is very professional and friendly. No complaints on the poker side. The century bar/restaurant is trash. $11 beers?

Yelp
Great place. And free parking! Love coming to the Comedy show! I can eeven bring my elderly mom

Yelp
Fun place. Went for the MMA cage fights. Parking was far but nonetheless a fun environment. A bit sketchy but people were nice.

Yelp
So, I hadn't been here in years. I actually use to be at this casino at least once a week before the new building and NFL field. I decide to go and play last week. It was easy access and tables were pretty empty. I played for a bit and went home. I decided to go again today. I did notice at 3:00pm that there were people walking in strange attire, but oh well. I get to the "free" parking garage where I am stopped and asked "where are you going"?? I thought this was the casino parking. He replied that there is an event and I'd had to pay $20 to park. I said that is ridiculous and said I would exit. I did. Might try again next day, but if it's that hard to go to a casino and potentially lose money. Why bother???

Yelp
We held our 50th Crenshaw High School Reunion here. It was perfect . Everyone from Lora to Cha Cha made everything run smoothly. The allowed for decorations , great food the lots of it on the buffet. Salmon hanger steak vegetables and potatoes all delicious and the price was awesome

Yelp
This is a good safe place to play some Poker , either a cash game or tournament- I've done both there. Parking is easy and the restaurant inside the casino has very good food. The only thing is they need more attentive servers at the table games - sometimes its hard to find one.
google avatar

Marouane S.

Yelp
Not a bad place to play some card games and have fun. Staff could be more friendly and helpful though
google avatar

Brandon H.

Yelp
This was my 3rd visit since the remodel, and it is a small yet beautiful casino. lots of great details, friendly helpful staff all around. Decent casino and looking less gloomy and tired than the other LA casinos I have been to.

Yelp
A little pit stop for drinks... Stopped by for a few drinks and a little gambling got off the tables and went and had a little to eat got a nice drink the lemon drop martini was good and strong then I ordered the winter citrus salad with a side of the citrus vinaigrette that was good so good that I had to double up on it..lol overall the drinks are not watered down and the food is good and the service is not bad I will definitely be back...

Yelp
As a lot of people here have said, this is a local casino so be prepared to encounter lots of loud LA Locals. For example- a gentleman at my table was super drunk and they did not remove him because he kept tipping literally everyone, 60 to the dealer 40 for the cage person etc. Dont engage with anyone trying to argue here because you may need security. Good variety of games and I love the nice airy open space with high ceilings. Out of all the casinos locally here in LA They all stink except this one - HPC sprays some sort of lavender Jasmine through the vents so it smells heavenly! Tournament play here was light due to another large poker tournament in town at another casino. But I know that this casino is pretty consistent with their 10,000 guarantee. Food here isnt good and way overpriced. Wasn't too many people at the bar but I suspect that the weekends get more action and also game days, because Sofi stadium is right next-door. Once the intuit stadium is built across the street this casino will really be a place to be!

Vanessa S.

Yelp
"Valet" in the parking lot are all gathered up and looking to sell you a parking ticket starting at $100. Then you say no and they haggle down the price to $40. Just a hustle out your money. Don't park here don't come here. Fake valet who ensures your car won't be stolen
google avatar

Ana A.

Yelp
Went to the dinning area and the booths were small. The food was good but the seating area wasn't that great.

Paula J.

Yelp
Very nice place to visit for food, gambling and entertainment. I went to a comedy show there which was nice to have as a change of pace and something fun for local residents to experience.
google avatar

Brandon V.

Yelp
Not my kind of casino. Dealer gets the first hand instead of the players on the game, lower payout, and you have to PAY a "commission" to play a hand
google avatar

Daisy M.

Yelp
FYI - CA casinos are just poker clubs. Unless you go to an Indian casino, you will not find any slot machines in any "casino" here in CA. Also, parking is free. Just make sure you have a players card and park in the upper floors. Valet is first floor. With that said, HPC in my opinion is the nicest and cleanest one of them all. Getting a seat is a little hectic but as long as you pay attention you'll get a seat. There the only casino I know of that has a freeroll.
google avatar

Alyssa N.

Yelp
DO NOT park here to go to any events at SoFi. Absolutely do not. You will be better off literally anywhere else. They charge upwards of $200 just to enter the structure. On top of that, you can pay an additional amount to park either on the 1st or 2nd floor. If you're a reasonable human who would rather spend that extra money on tickets or merchandise, you park on the 3rd or 4th level. Here's the kicker... they post security guards at every corner to prevent anyone above the 2nd level from leaving until the ENTIRE parking structure is cleared out. Over 2 hours, usually. For literally no reason. If I got here before people on the 2nd level get here... I should be able to go. But nope! Doesn't matter. You have to wait. Really shady stuff. Really crappy business practice. I'd give negative stars if I could.
google avatar

Fernando F.

Yelp
I went here yesterday for radio Big Boy 30th Anniversary party. When you first pull up there's ample parking in the front for drive to the right to park at the parking structure. When you first go in the security scans your license, then lets you in even though you go through a metal detector. My first impression was this casino is really clean like brand new... When you go to the left you see the gaming, if you go straight they have a bars everywhere with t.v.s. They have multiple bars to check out, first one is straight ahead from entrance, another bar with big t.v.s. Is to the right, it reminded me of buffalo wild wings. The food served was really good, the chicken, egg rolls, shrimp cocktail, etc. however, I ordered a margarita and it was super strong. I had to baby sit that drink. They have seating at the bar, tables with chairs, even a VIP area with tables, chairs, and lounge chairs. The bathrooms are tricky down the hall by all the bars, lots of turns, and signs to guide you. Great event at the Hollywood Park Casino, I want to come back.

Yelp
I had not been here in awhile. We were in the area tonight and got our gamble on for about an hour. I usually go to Hawaiian Gardens Casino since its closer to Orange County where I live. I played some Black Jack and won some and lost some tonight. My girl sat by my side and watched since she does not gamble. I had fun at this Casino. Very good dealers and rollers. I need to get back on the boards again .
google avatar

Josue Z.

Yelp
No slots or roulette. They need to advertise that they don't have those things. Only card games

Rebecca G.

Yelp
So the poker is ok but we went for a bite and they had chicharrones on the menu so my husband asked about them. They must've gone down to the 7-11 and gotten a 2.99 bag and added some guacamole on the side. We should've sent it back. Ridiculous!

Veronica S.

Yelp
Discovered a Wonderful Surprise! This is an Amazing Place to host an Event. They've had Re-past, Graduations, Birthday Parties and are available for almost anything you want to Host at the Casino on the private side, the parking lot and designated areas in and around the Casino. I want to acknowledge that everyone I encountered during my recent visit to the Casino was pleasant and professional Very special THANK YOU to LAURA LOVATO ~ Event and Catering Sales Manager! She was extremely professional, helpful, and kind during my recent request for her organizational skills to schedule my event. I will be contacted Laura in the future for my upcoming events. Thank you Hollywood Park Casino for hiring and empowering people like Laura Lovato.
google avatar

Laurel B.

Yelp
We should have looked at the reviews of this casino before heading here after a Chargers game. This is not a high-end casino by any means. We started by waiting in line for drinks only to be told that they were out of margaritas and the only options were in bottles. After taking a walk around, we realized there are no slot machines, only tables (or if there are, we couldn't find them!). I'm not a fan of table games so I usually sit down at a machine while my husband plays blackjack but that isn't an option here. Speaking of the tables, the night we were there, they started at $15/hand and even though the place was packed, half the tables weren't open.
google avatar

Joel O.

Yelp
Great place to enjoy the day . I shall return and play some card games at the casino.

Blake H.

Yelp
If you're looking for a card place place to play blackjack and other card games then it's a cool spot wish they had roulette though

Payam N.

Yelp
Dirtiest casino I have ever seen. Rude staff. Food is ok. They don't clean tables all at.

Nikki N.

Yelp
Alright... let me just keep it real. This is a vibe. You don't have to be a gambler, a big spender, or a party animal to come here. Just come. The interior is renovated & very welcoming. It's nice. Maserati's , Mercedes, Audi's, and BMW's line the Valet entrance. It's lit. The drinks tho..... whole nother level. Daniel... is the GOAT. Respectfully. He made me a Cadillac Margarita that actually has me writing this review... not only does he service 11 customers at once, he knows what's up & knows how to make a drink. He's also very attentive to his customers. Anywho, just come because the men are outside and if you know.... Then boo... ya know. Periodt

Yelp
Horrible staff, rude and mean to I everyone who comes in. They are men to everyone - even if they're coming into spend money.
google avatar

Yelp
I hope the next group that is planning an event at SOFI reads this before booking with the Hollywood Park Casino. This was a disaster! Horrible catering experience - cold food and warm beverages. The food was absolutely terrible... little brisket sliders with but a smear of meat, starchy cold corn on the cob, the salad was just soggy lettuce, frito pie so cold that the cheese wouldn't melt served in a mini bag of frito corn chips. Plus, they didn't start chilling the beverages until the event started. What's worse the bathrooms were on the first floor and the event was on top of the parking garage. Once you found them, the lines were 20 min long. The tents leaked, the umbrellas were blowing over and underneath the tents it was cold and dark, as in no lights. Great deal for only $520 for 4 of us - NOT! This was a horrible rip-off. It's not nice to take advantage of people.
google avatar

Al W.

Yelp
Dealer is professional, although people are relatively betting small comparing the Vegas. Casino vibe was ok, but I am not a big fans of paying the commission every hand. If you are closer to the airport and want to play some asain games. This is the place to go, baccarat commission is free!
google avatar

Adrian C.

Yelp
The SoFi stadium snarl of traffic is a complete logistics disaster. I am a Lyft driver, and the woman I picked up, said that her party took two hours to receive their car after they ordered it, and I had taken an hour to get four city blocks - my point is that city planners should have made accommodations for the obvious Increase in traffic for those stadiums. Furthermore, there's no place for people to wait for cars.l

Yelp
Well, we spend way too long here Quite a lot of characters here. Highly recommend leaving within 10 min of entering.

Yelp
Went to Hollywood Park Casino after watching a Sunday afternoon Rams game. A lower-end casino that is set up for gamblers, not for folks looking for fun or hanging out. Quality: It is certainly not a destination casino, but there are far worse places to find yourself after a football game. They had a few different gaming options, and the minimums are the lowest I have seen in a long time. Be prepared to pay to play, but other than that it is pretty standard. Quantity: It is not a big casino, but plenty large enough for the number of guests after a football game. Value: Relatively low minimums at tables. Ambiance: Hollywood Park Casino is one of the strangest casino set-ups I have ever seen. It is one massive room filled with tables. They do a have small bar area, but the rest of the space just expands table by table as more guests arrive. The ceiling is tall, the carpet is gross, and the options are limited. Crowd: The casino was filled with guests that wandered over from SoFi. Service: Security and staff were all fine. Parking: Parking garage and valet, not sure of the prices.

Latasha R.

Yelp
We booked this Lounge for a 40th birthday party. It's was such a good day experience, Laura was Our party coordinator. She was amazing from start to finish. Good food, open bar and a team assigned to our party to make sure our guest was comfortable and having a good experience. The Dj was live and on point. When I met Laura right away I felt comfortable, she's the best. Also her team was on point all night. Totally a Hidden Jewel, we recommend to all. It's a Vibe for sure!!! And affordable!!!!

Yelp
Too funny. But not comical. One big room. 200 x 200 You enter thru a metal detector and a guard wanting you ID It resembles a prison chow, table after table, kitchen along one wall, Total prison feel and environment . Fancy sounding menu of prison food. Complete with the dregs of society, lol I was trapped, waiting for an incoming LAX flight that was delayed for 3 hours. Just shoot me, please It was

Yelp
This company is greedy, all they want is your money... avoid parking here for SoFi evens at all costs, you will be better off walking 10 miles on your own than parking here, we parked here in the 3rd floor for an event today and it is been 2 hrs of us inside the parking lot and we haven't been able to move our car an inch. How can they sell the whole parking lot for events when there is no logistic or coordination to exit the lot when the event is over
google avatar

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Do not park here for any events at SoFi worst parking ever very unorganized takes forever to get out! They sell you a parking pass ahead of time then try and upgrade you for more money when you arrive!

Yocelyn O.

Yelp
Unless you are a yt rich billionaire do not come here unless you want to be followed around. As a local I decided to stop by have a few drinks check some of the new locations our city has to offer unfortunately it was very disappointing. The ambiance was horrible I felt very uncomfortable constantly being watched by security as if I was planning a heist or committing a crime ?? I got stopped twice as I walked around from the food court and bar with the excuse of seeing my ID and was told I was not allowed inside because I wasn't of age !? I'm 24 . Mind you they check IDs at the door anyways they told my fiancé to lift his jeans up as if they have a dress code here ? It's a casino IN Inglewood.. not Beverly Hills. Nothing fancy about my city. Definitely not coming back you can feel the racial profiling as soon as you step inside. 0/10 experience would not recommend to anyone who looks like me or anyone who is actually from LA.
google avatar

Yelp
So I came here on a whim as I was looking for a more "accessible" casino and I was underwhelmed. First the positives, it is fairly nicer than I thought it would be. The casino is in a New location and it definitely shows. Everything looks modern and sleek and I think it does show more promise as time grows and outside of the pandemic. However, I don't think I will be back. First, I do not like that online it shows that the casino has craps, when it doesn't. I get the pandemic has changed things and it could come back later on, but please update your website accordingly. However, the main reason for my lack of future return is the $1 bet to just play. I have been to other CA casinos (Temecula, Palm Springs) and they do not make you do that. This basically destroys all "fairly even" house edges on games like Blackjack and Pai Gow. I don't always expect to win or anything, but this just seems like overkill. I will note that the vibe inside from staff was nice and not sure what others are seeing. The problems I see are more of the managerial style and the way the games are played, at least from this experience.
google avatar

Ed A.

Yelp
Markus still running excellent tournaments. Coffee free. Only issue was lady working front desk. Need someone more friendly. I asked for replacement player card to enter tournament and presented my CDL and this small task was too overwhelming for this elderly lady to handle. Please service members with a smile or work in the kitchen where we won't bother your routine.
google avatar

Steven H.

Yelp
I've been coming here for a decade now and got cheated as they always do. TVs channels will be changed and play around like kids. Some dealers will ruin it for all dealers because they don't understand bankroll management and start hating because their lives sucks. Not a great spot to watch what you want because it's all set to one channel when I'm there as if it's a joke. I do like drinking here though so that's something I'll miss for years as I lifetime ban myself since shay the floor man cheated me and that dealer. I think his name is John. Ungrateful people!
google avatar

Yelp
HPC is a great place to play poker. The tournaments are well run, and the cash games are difficult (too many weak players chasing you to the river). Shout out to the greatest tournament directors in CA (if not the world), David N. and Marcus. Great dealers abound in Jose, Cuong, Kathy, and others. Some are new, but the TDs keep a close watch. The tourney structures are very good, and the morning tourneys give players 30 minutes per level.
