Go Go Bird - Review - Hollywood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"There’s a lot of new fried chicken in town, but the spot I’ve been most impressed with recently is Go Go Bird, a Hollywood pop-up run by Brandon Kida, the chef at Hinoki + The Bird. The chicken really is the star of the show here - it’s brined in white soy, paprika, and a spice blend involving kombu, shiitake and bonito powder - then fried in Szechuan chili oil (which you should also order a jar of on the side). This bird is taken to a new level with both hot and numbing spices, and it’s extremely umami-forward. As far as sides, the mashed potatoes and curry gravy, and the fries doused with furikake are both winners, and the cheddar biscuits with honey miso butter are absolutely tremendous. I highly recommend this place go(go)ing straight to the top of your personal takeout hit list." - Brett Keating

Yelp
CSL was once one of the best luxury buildings in Los Angeles- but has slowly declined over time in terms or service and amenities. Past Sales Manager Nick and building Manager Michelle were experienced in hospitality and provided a high level of professionalism and maturity that this building badly misses. As amenities have deteriorated or disappeared over time, the Valet team remained as the heart and soul of our building - but as of today, with no feedback from residents about how much this service provides from a safety, convenience, and luxury perspective- greystar has made the decision to get rid of valet service all together. Valet was the last thing maintaining the buildings feeling of "luxury". We are left now with residents who smoke indoors filling the corridors and units with marijuana and cigarette smoke, unruly guests of residents who use the pool and have parties without repercusion, air conditioning that doesn't work for weeks on end, and a reminder of a building that once was but is still trying to claim a title of "luxury". Consider looking at Eastown or El Centro across the street (buildings that would never have been in the same conversation of Columbia Square a few years ago) for the same services for way less money- you might even end up with better neighbors who are actually paying their rent and aren't squatting for free. If you are looking for security, service, hospitality, and luxury, it truly pains me to say that you will have to look elsewhere, away from our beloved Columbia Square.

Yelp
My experience with the leasing agent Maggie was extremely disappointing and frustrating. From the moment we began our interaction, it was clear that she didn't care. Maggie consistently displayed a dismissive attitude towards our concerns and questions. Her attitude is almost as bad as her communication skills. She seemed disinterested in actually doing the tour and blamed us for not booking the tour properly. The worst part is, she was the person on the phone we booked with. She went on lunch at our appointment time, making us wait an hour, and half way during our actual tour she refused to let us see a unit again because "she had other tours lined up" Maggie single handedly pushed us to go lease in another building. Which I'm glad, because not only she is utterly incompetent, she also blames her problems on other people. She's a leasing agent, who can't do a tour. Speaks volume about the building.

Yelp
If you're trying to move to this building, let me make it easy for you and tell you dont even consider it. This building used to be literally the best building in LA, hands down, but since the management company Greystar took over everything has been going downhill since. We used to have one of the best community of people here which if anyone from outside would visit here would be shocked to see how close we are together, but since Greystar took over the only thing that have done is to make sure this building loses its amazing sense of community (which you don't expect anything else from a multi billionaire $ company). We used to have the top notch amenities and concierge here, but they have been taking all of them away one by one to cut their expenses and bring down any kind of liabilities for themselves. Here they will treat you like they own you, with disrespectful attitude and the worst kind of communication that you can deal with. They encourage residents to flip on each other and give penalties and just charge you hundreds of dollars without a heads up. If you have any maintenance problems you will definitely need to wait at least a week before they consider coming to fix things, and even when they do they just come in and fix thing in hurry with no quality work and they leave. This management have been in court nonstop because of the lawsuits they get because of all kinds of negligence that you can think of. Just recently we didnt have a manager for over a month because no one wanted to take this job. Now they new manager is in court most of the week for hours at a time! Greystar is famous for getting rid of the people in our concierge that started getting friendly with our residents (and also knew their illegal and dirty secrets and negligences that they always try to hide and get away with) In this building Every 2 month we used to have some of the nicest parties and gatherings with the best quality from music, vendors and music. since Gresytar took over with their cheap sense, now we have 2hrs events with left over foods, cheap drinks and radio music. One of the best things about this building is the valet, that amenity I can tell you is the best thing we got in here, but now we just got the news that they made the decision to take that away as well, without even communicating with the tenants first! and let me tell you, if they actually do that, you better off living in any other building in this area than here. At the end I will tell you why I didnt mention my name, and that's because Greystar is known, not just here but in every other building they manage, all over the US, to retaliate against the residents that they talk about their negligence and wrong doings, and that happened here in this building multiple of times. Greystar is the worst management company out there, and if you do your research, you'll see they are in court and being sued all over US by many of their tenants! What you read in this photo is the biggest lie they are telling us, this ruins our convenience and they never ever talked to any of the residents about removing our valet! Greystar is the biggest lier and the worst management company possible

Yelp
Here's the honest review. I've been holding back, but whatever. When I moved in almost a year ago, it was great. Super friendly valet, mostly great concierge team, fast and friendly maintenance + housekeeping. Fast forward - 9 months later Insane management turnover, the newest one being Paris, who is by far the worst of the bunch. A week into her arrival she eliminated some of our favorite staff members, who made this place feel like community. Further, she removed valet parking - stating that residents wanted this - which was not true. To the point where we did a petition that received over 100 signatures, yep, within days. She tried to intimidate the petition holders, who happened to be contractors with the building as fitness instructions, when they resisted, somehow they lost their contract. To me, that feels like retaliation. Especially when suddenly she has a new fitness team that she happens to have a personal relationship (fast forward: she hires even more of her friends as staff members). It's blatantly obvious, as we've all seen her Instagram page, posting about her waking up in Dubai on her Instagram, #travelblogger. That makes sense as to why she went on vacation twice in her first three months here. Subsequently, the "weekly crepe breakfast" they offered us in lieu of the valet parking was cancelled three weeks in a row because of her vacation. Lol. Facilities she has been extremely strict with residents with has been for her own leisure, for example, using one of the vacant penthouses to take a photoshoot. I can't make this up. My final straw was walking into the lobby and overhearing Paris making intimidation statements directed to the maintenance team, which by the way - are incredibly kind, helpful, and care about the residents. Unfortunately, Jose's maintenance team is understaffed, which is terrible timing, as our building has been facing rampant cases of leaks. Some residents also get targeted. Unfortunately myself included. I was berated by a leasing agent, Danielle (another friend of hers), for a few drops of water falling on the ground from a houseplant I was carrying. Meanwhile, the smell and sight of dog urine doesn't get the same hostility. Neither do the residents moving trash bags full of weed or the scammers in evictions. Just a couple weeks ago, they started charging for EV usage, which was free. For us EV drivers, our cost of the valet was cheaper than the self park + charging option. We're actually paying more but have to do more. Make it make sense. EDIT: I completely forgot to mention the spider infestation on our roof. It is RAMPANT with spiders. We see about 10-15 large poisonous spiders per day, with insanely large webs. UPDATE: This Instagram post is from our manager, Paris. While Greystar has not reached out trying to rectify the situation, our manager is instead calling us stalkers, haters, and demons. This is a luxury building, ladies and gentlemen. I don't see current management lasting here.

Yelp
I've been in this building for about 4 years now, had nightmare issues with horrific neighbors that weren't properly screened and had to be kicked out, never ending problems with my AC System literally EVERY SINGLE year, not just a problem for a day or two, but DAYS and WEEKS without the system working whatsoever.. The last time I went nearly 2 MONTHS without working air and had to fight them to just get it fixed Leasing agents always coming and going, we can't hold down a building manager for longer than a year, amenities are all falling apart, plants rotting, upkeep of this building is just spiraling More Bad News: Just today we have been informed that the building is taking away one of the last best parts of living here, the Valet. I'm disgusted with this decision that they did not let the tenants take part in whatsoever, not even an email saying ' hey we're considering this, what do you think? ' This building is not designed to be self parking, and Valet is one of the greatest parts of this building. With the cost of living here.. Nobody cares if it will save you a couple hundred dollars a month, people want the service regardless This building keeps trying to cut costs left, right and center on everything and anything they can, and then start to charge us on anything they can come up with.. Like our Mail?? If you don't come and get your mail in 2 days, they will start to charge you.. Unbelievable. It won't be a surprise if a large amount of people decide not to renew their lease or move out due to the loss of this service and FYI the Valet Team is so wonderful to be around..they are kind, polite and so great at their job.. At this point if I could leave zero stars, I would

Yelp
This building used to be fantastic, even though I haven't been here as long as many of the others. Unfortunately, Calvin, the former building manager, spent most of his time in evictions court with non-paying tenants which made him lack visibility in the building. The best concierge staff is either leaving or already gone. Our remaining concierge staff is unprofessional and we only have one leasing agent left (who is great, Maggie thank you!). From there, we had no manager for months. Now, we have a manager, but ownership (aka Kilroy) is taking away our lovely valet, the saving grace of this building. Many of us, including myself, moved in for this specific amenity. Seeing them cut costs at the expense of our experience is a shame. This place is going downhill fast.

Yelp
I've been a resident at Columbia Square Living since 2018 and have seen its various iterations. Unfortunately in the past 18 months has been the worst of all and the community has declined significantly. Today it was announced that valet service will be cancelled. This is the only luxury service that was left of a once flourishing property that residents were proud to call home. If you are looking to rent here I'd take note of the following issues as they will likely affect your experience. My advice you'll get more for your money elsewhere. Red flags - cigarette and marijauna smoke will fill your unit and corridors and the non-smoking policy remains unenforced by management. - residents smoking weed in communal areas like the rooftop go unchecked - drug dealers live here and traffic copious amounts of product throughout the building welcoming buyers at all times of day and night - residents playing insanely loud music until the early hours despite residents and management attempts to enforce community rules - AC unit goes out for weeks on end without ongoing communication or remedy - we had no management for the month of Feb this year Services that have been cut since 2018 - in room dining from rooftop restaurant - in room ice delivery - towel service on sun loungers - package delivery (we're now charged if we don't collect within 48hrs) - lost key or locked out that'll be $150 please - 24hr concierge - rooftop gas heaters we disconnected indefinitely to save money - community fitness classes were reduced from 3 to 1 weekly - the gym is a hot mess and rarely clean or tidy - assistant manager position was recently eliminated

Yelp
My fiancé and I just went through the application process at Columbia Square! I had toured this building back in September, fell in love but it wasn't the right time then. Toured it again with my fiancé this time and we just knew we had to do it. Maggie at the leasing office has honestly been super patient with us in answering all our questions and extremely helpful making this process as seamless as possible. Excited to make this beautiful space home and thanks to Maggie for ensuring we are satisfied!

Yelp
Valet concierge and management are amazing here at this property. As soon as you walk through the door the property is well kept so you can tell that they're housekeepers & maintenance team really cares about the property. I'm so excited to be moving in Columbia Square by far my favorite place to tour. Maggie in the Leasing Office was amazing as well as Henry and Esmil as well.

Yelp
I was blown away when first visiting this property. Its architecture and interior design was immaculate and management seemed very professional. Marco gave an amazing tour and provided great detail to each unit, the impression was sold that they could really work with my needs and wants. However as the process grew it was obvious that management, specifically Calvin operates on a very hurry up and buy without providing significant information that will later bite you if unprepared. - I was pressured to apply to a unit to lock in a rate without being told that you have only 2 weeks to move in or the rate will increase. - During the application process I was reassigned a new leasing agent Chris where I was told I was approved and I'd receive next steps the day after I applied. However 4 days went by where I heard no word and was later told because he was out of office after I followed up. - When expressing I needed to simply push my move in date by 4 days due to not being in town for work they offered a one day push with a $1k increase and ultimately refused to accommodate the request, although they had taken their dear time in getting back to me after the application was approved. Its unfortunate as from an outer perspective the fasade is perfection but their process is disorganized and frustrating, which makes you feel like you will not be a valued tenant. There are plenty of other buildings that I'm sure would be accommodating and appreciative of the admiration from a potential loyal resident.

Yelp
just moved in and love this building and the residents are so great, however very disappointed as it seems the amenities are being stripped away. the new mail room is a disaster and half of the packages never enter the system, three of mine have been lost this month. the management was entirly unhelpful in that situation and now we are getting emails that they are going to take the valet away, which was one of the reasons I loved this building, and I've heard many Tenants are upset by this. hopefully they listen as I've heard from people who have lived here for years that say they would move out and removing the valet would be their final straw.

Yelp
Maintenance team is incredible . Fast and efficient this team! Completely reliable and communication is key when it comes to them. Always very informative and helpful can't thank them enough.

Yelp
Absolutely love this full-service, luxury building and the staff are phenomenal! Steve Wilson and Elvira Desiderio are the best---so professional and welcoming. The front desk and valet staff are also amazing and so friendly and helpful--Marco, Brian and the rest of the valet and concierge staff are truly top notch! Thank you all!!

Yelp
Love our Columbia Square Living experience. The top-tier amenities, rooftop, and finishes make every day feel like a vacation. Our favorite part of living here is being able to connect with the staff who makes it a point to get to know you and are always super gracious. From the valet team, to maintenance, housekeeping and the front desk , every interaction has been remarkable. Dahee in particular has been so responsive, friendly and helpful.

Yelp
This is hands down one of the nicest buildings in L.A. As soon as you arrive you know you are taken care of. From the valet, to the front desk, to management...it's all top notch. Everyone is super professional and kind. Anything you need, they are on it! The units are also incredible. The views, the finishes. I could go on and on. And the rooftop pool is almost too good to be true. Nothing in the area even compares. When I'm here I feel like I'm at THE most luxurious hotel and I don't ever want to leave.

Daria D.

Yelp
The worstes management team in the world. The ventilation not working properly, in a lot of units as write people before, landlord not fixed, ignore all complaints. Lost my mailbox key twice, give me 2 weeks ago old key that they lost half year ago, it's not Mach my mailbox, doesn't want to solve this problem say that I need to go to usps and do it by myself madness.

Yelp
I am a tenant of Columbia Square Living, the Kelly Wearstler designed building in Hollywood, and I think it's a fantastic residence! From the time you drive-up to the porte-cochère, the team of uber-friendly valet whisk your car away and open the door for you--that is assuming that the concierge has not beat them to it! The front desk is staffed 7pm-7pm with two resourceful and kind concierge who are always ready with a smile and to be of assistance. Afterwards, there are always two night-desk people to keep the lobby safe and guests welcome! The units are large, architecturally significant and bright and contemporary! And the rooftop, amazing! The saltwater pool is complimented by the Sorra restaurant which serves up yummy cuisine while you soak up the 300-degree views! Check it out, you will be glad you did!

Nick D.

Yelp
Nothing glamorous about the management or sales staff. You can not even get in touch with management by phone or email. Apparently, they have too many phone calls from their residents that they are unable to answer calls since the building is shady. There is loud noise from the construction that goes Monday - Saturday that starts at 7 am. I wish I knew this before signing my lease. Biggest complaints: - They make recycling very difficult even though they say they are eco friendly - It takes about 3-5 mins to get hot water for my shower or kitchen sink. - loud noises from people throwing parties in their units and construction - Parking is difficult for visitors, lots of meter parking, however, lots of homeless people that live at the parking meter. My girlfriend parked at one of these meters and was attacked by a homeless man. - not a nice area to walk around. False advisement on the following Community Features: - There'ses no Complimentary house bicycles - There's no Synthetic-turf dog run - Rooftop Resident Lounge has been closed for no reason though they rent it for private events. They promised coffee at the lounge which has NEVER been offered. I had high hopes about this building and loved the kelly wearstWearstlerler design but there's too many negatives about this building.

Hans K.

Yelp
I've lived here over a year and am in love with this building. There are no more homeless people around the building, the valet is amazing, the front desk is super helpful with everything, and the units are incredible. It's right between some of the busy streets but our street is quiet with plenty of parking and barely any traffic. You could double park in the street if needed. I've read through some of the bad reviews and haven't experienced those problems, whenever there is an issue or something isn't working they send maintenance up promptly and they fix it for free. I feel like I'm a part of a community the valet and front desk people will address me by my name. And having grocery and postmates delivery's brought up to door while having secure elevators is a great luxury. The walls a lot thicker than other buildings and so I've never had any noise complaints. I feel super safe w security all around the building. It's also great that I can tell a girl where I live and they already know the building and you will see famous models in the elevator haha. Not a place to raise a family (no apt in hollywood is) but it's great for 21-35 year olds. I feel so blessed to live here, it's really an amazing place
google avatar

Christina I.

Yelp
This has been one of my all-time favorite places to live in LA! The staff, the views, the amenities... it feels like you are living in a fancy hotel! I love it so much.
google avatar

Natalie A.

Yelp
I am a current tenant at Columbia square. This building is very nice. However management has been unable to control the amount of marijuana use in this facility. Elevators, lobby, rooftop and inside apartments constantly reeks of marijuana. If you like that, then definitely this is the place for you. It's not kid friendly, due to above and also the population that lives here. Management is not prompt about repair requests and ignores most. Somewhat disorganized. Overall if I had to choose again I would not live here. I could still see the appeal though.

Drew M.

Yelp
I have been living here for almost two years. It has been a dream to say the least. If you are looking for a full service luxury building in LA, this should be the first place you look. The leasing and management team is beyond professional and helpful. The building is always clean and maintained to the highest standards. They are always renovating or improving the building and it actually might be nicer than when I first moved in 2 years ago. The rooftop has to be one of the nicest spots in all of LA. Small perks such as free coffee service, cold brew on tap (nitro and regular!), Kombucha on tap, and over the top resident events every month with DJ's, food, top shelf alcohol, and even dancers really make living here amazing day to day. Valet service for residents and guests make living here feel like a hotel. The building used to be a Proper (like the one in Santa Monica), designed by Kelly Wearslter so the finishes and design of the apartments are unparalleled. Not to be crude but for lack of better words, its a "panty-dropper" (for both men and women). If you are looking for a luxury living experience, you won't be disappointed.

Eli S.

Yelp
Went on a tour with Steve Wilson! Amazing experience- felt sincerely welcomed, professionally shown around the property. Prompt response, quick efficient tour and information. Answered to all my questions. Very pleasant vibe from this leasing agent and the property in general. Would recommend to wok with Steve!

Takács N.

Yelp
I live in the building since 1,5 years, and it is the best. Love that i can start my morning at the gym on the second floor, and finish my day, by the pool, drinking the best glass of wine, and having some bites at Sorra. Everyone at the management, and at the front desk is lovely, professionals and always very helpful. Always feel safe in the building, and my amazon packeges always arrive.:) I have a stright view to the Hollywood sign, which was a childhood dream of mine... Also everything is in walking distance..stores, restaurants, services, etc... if you are looking for luxury style living, this is the place.. you won't regret leasing here...we love it

Yelp
Living all around the world, I've never experienced such great service, and amenities. This is truly a full service building that has their stuff together. Always clean, always friendly, and absolutely beautiful. Have to definitely mention Jordan for helping me get the unit I wanted, and accommodating me with my move. He went the extra mile when helping me, and always brings a smile to everyone's face with his energy. Everyone else has been amazing as well, from valet, to the front desk, maintenance, and the other Jordan's on the rooftop restaurant. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who's looking to live in a full service luxury building. I never went to leave this place.

Vaughn B.

Yelp
I've been living at Columbia square a few months now and living here has been a pleasant experience. I feel like I'm living on a resort. The roof top pool, amenities, gym, and the Building grounds are kept very clean. The staff from the valet attendants, to the front desk concierge, and leasing staff are all warm and friendly. The quality of the apartments are built well and the finishings and appliances are high end. I do not hear any noise from shared walls with neighbors or from the person above me , however this might just be the floor that I'm on. Most improbably the building is very secure and has always felt safe in my time here. If you're looking for a safe and clean luxury building with great amenities and fun building events thrown for residents; I suggest you look no further. Hit up Steve from the leasing office, he has been so great and goes the extra mile to ensure your time here is great. Elvira in the leasing office is also amazing as well :)

Yelp
Had a great experience leasing through Nick Williams. Very professional and worked rapidly to get me in the unit I wanted in the time frame I needed. I highly recommend contacting him if you have any interest in the building. Great amenities and great people make this a great Hollywood spot to live!

Yelp
Coming up on our renewal wanting to buy a house and I'm honestly hooked on living here. I actually quit equinox because our gym is so great. Rooftop pool with bar/restaurant definitely doesn't hurt

Ali Z.

Yelp
Great experience living here. Super friendly staff. Very covid friendly. Jordan is the best. 10/10 service 24/7. The valet is super quick aswell. Love it

Yelp
I recently moved from Austin back to Los Angeles and couldn't be happier here at Columbia Square. My leasing agent, Jordan Huston, made the entire process seamless (from the initial tour to the day I moved in). He truly went above and beyond for me, which is a testament to how much he and the team cares about the residents. Since moving in...Jordan, Danielle, Nick, Marco, Shelly, Nate and the rest of the team have made me feel so welcome. Every day they validate my decision to not only move back to LA but also the choice I made in Columbia Square. It definitely has family vibe to it (something that is important to me). Lastly, the amenities and design here are great.....from the complimentary valet, to the amazing gym, Kelly Wearstler designed apts/furnishings and the beautiful rooftop pool. If you're moving to Hollywood this is where you need to be!

Mathew Z.

Yelp
I've lived here for sometime now, and honestly this is one of my favorite buildings in Hollywood. The valet and concierge service is awesome but the leasing office is my favorite! Danielle, Jordan , and Nick have been nothing but great and extremely helpful. Getting all of my problems sorted ! If your looking for a new building with good amenities this is the place .

Pashka K.

Yelp
Been living here for years. Love this building. Shout out to Jordan for being the best point of contact. Love the service, love the building.

Pär E.

Yelp
Columbia Square Living in general and Jordan Huston, together with his staff, in particular has been a pleasure since day one. I moved in together with my wife 18 months ago and we have had an all around amazing experience. We were looking for a modern living with all the bells and whistles at a central location in Hollywood and we truly found what we were looking for. Amazing location, amazing building, great staff, nice vibe and all the amenities we wanted. The apartment is very nice with big windows and great views. Generous size bathrooms and a very nice layout. An elevator ride away we have a pool and a sun deck up on the roof top, together with a great sunset bar and restaurant. A 24 h gym downstairs, valet parking service and friendly service at the front desk all day, every day. Clean, cool and exactly what we want to come home to at night. And close to night life and all sorts of restaurants and bars whenever we want to stay out. This is an awesome home for us. We love it. Thanks Jordan, thanks Columbia Square. I can strongly recommend it.
