Holm Somerset

Just spent two nights in The Elm room at Holm and it was exceptional. Design led room with freestanding bath and an amazing bathroom and shower. The shampoos, handsoaps etc are plentiful and by Dulcie which are lovely. Breakfast is included in the restaurant downstairs and is really good, as you'd expect from a restaurant of this calibre. Seriously good bacon and hash browns, and the the yoghurt and granola is banging. We also did the tasting menu in the evening which was great, generous portions which can be a bugbear of a tasting menu and a decent wine list although I would opt for the one above the house red as was considerably better. South Petherton as a village is lovely with lots of local businesses and a great pub in The Brewers Arms. Pricing is on the top end side for stay and restaurant but when this much thought and care has gone into everything you can't really grumble.

I booked a surprise visit for my partner's birthday and am over the moon with how perfect it was and how much she (but also I!!) loved it. Right from the get go, you're greeted by genuine, warm, kind staff, and made to feel truly welcomed. This was a continuing theme throughout our stay with every single person we interacted with. We stayed in the Elm Room and although I had been excited to stay after seeing the pictures online, they did not do it justice at all. The room was absolutely stunning. The double shower felt luxurious and the bath is the biggest one I've ever seen! The bed was also so comfortable! Not to mention the other lovely little touches (some of the best cookies I've ever had). The tasting menu was the best I've had to be honest, and the ambience of the restaurant was just lovely. Breakfast was also delicious! I loved everything about this stay, from start to finish and would love to return again. Highly recommend!!!

A fantastic NYE tasting dinner at Holm. Could not fault any of the dishes and the staff were really friendly and polite. Knocked it down a star as the service could have been improved; small details such as offering drink refills and taking our coats. We just felt they could have been a little more attentive given the elevated dining experience, but was a great experience nonetheless.

Incredibly pleased with our decision to stay at Holm during a wedding venue scouting trip last week. The overall feel of the place was so positive from the friendly, warm reception when we entered to the natural sunlight throughout the property to the clean, chic, organic rooms. The staff’s attention to detail was perfect and very appreciated down to the cookies left in our rooms specific to individual guests’ food allergy requirements. Such a wonderful experience that a friend traveling with us already plans to book rooms for her family for our wedding in 13 months! Don’t hesitate - Book and enjoy!!!!!

Holm was nothing short of exceptional! The service, the food, the room - all of it was truly amazing. We stayed for one night, arrived very late, and the staff were extremely accommodating of our arrival and ensured we were still able to have dinner with them…which was just as amazing as the room! Additionally, they are very dog friendly and went out of their way to ensure our pup also had a great stay :)

Fabulous food, we've eaten here quite a bit the last few years but haven't been for 8 months, just stunning, definitely the best food we've eaten here. Delightful nibbles, Oxtail Croquettes a delight, great risotto, but the absolute star of the show was the vegetables! , yes really, veg is often forgotten, but oh boy, Brussel sprouts cooked to perfection with chilli jam, delightful, sweet buttered cabbage and carrots, not soggy nor hard but spot on perfect with so much taste and beautiful potatoes. Petit fours amazing, probably the best caramel chocolate I've eaten, (I have eaten loads over the years), and the mince pie was delicious. Well done Holm, chefs that know their stuff and a warm welcome and pleasant service.

Lovely Bonfire Night special menu! The food was excellent, and I really appreciate the gentlemen who served us — they were attentive and friendly throughout. A wonderful experience. Special thanks to Nicholas Balfe for going the extra mile and creating a special kids’ menu just for my daughter and was made possible by the booking team member Yuliia — it made the evening even more memorable.

We enjoyed a wonderful two-night stay in the beautiful Elm Room, complete with incredible food and outstanding service. A heartfelt thank you to Samantha for her impeccable care each morning… and for helping our nervous puppy down the stairs! The whole experience was simply lovely, made even better by glorious weather. Truly a hidden gem worth discovering.
