Mixed Feelings – Great Cocktails, Poor Pickleball Experience
I was really looking forward to trying Solarium after they added the pickleball courts. The cocktails are great, and the general atmosphere is definitely a vibe—perfect for a night out. We booked a court along with one of the private rooms next to the courts for a birthday gathering, expecting a fun, elevated experience.
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t book the private room again. The service was slow—it took forever to get drinks, and there was no music in the room, which made it feel disconnected from the lively ambiance elsewhere. To make matters worse, the TVs in the room weren’t working, so we missed out on using them for entertainment.
The bar area, despite being farther from the courts, had better airflow and a much more enjoyable atmosphere. I honestly wish we had just stayed there.
One of the AM bartenders really dampened the initial vibe. They were unfriendly and unengaging, even when we tried to be personable and chatty—not what you’d expect from a place known for its social scene.
As for the pickleball itself, we had fun playing with our friends, but the setup wasn’t ideal. We had to keep pausing because people walking by would cut across the court (poor design). Also, their system for check-in process was slow— which took 15–20 minutes. That ate into our court time, and there was no offer to make up for it.
We still had a great time because of the people we were with, but I wouldn’t return to Solarium for pickleball. Maybe I’d come back for a drink, but the private court-side rooms just aren’t worth it.
