Tony Holman hand-throws functional stoneware in an 1890s Victorian cottage near downtown; the gallery also showcases American artisans. Marking 35 years in Plano and covered by Community Impact, it’s a genuine window into local craft.

Fabulously creative unique items...and you can cook with their pottery. Such a fun time, shopping at their historic house, turned gallery. Great gift ideas...and their pottery is in demand at art and gift shops all across the country, and they're right in our backyard in Plano Texas! Reasonably priced, creatively inspiring!

They make some nice, artistic, but practical pieces of pottery that you can use everyday. Got some coffee (or tea in my case) mugs with nice bluebonnet artwork on them recently while paying a visit. I love the home they bought for his business, too, as it’s a designated “Heritage Landmark” in Plano’s history, namely Mary Schimelpfenig House (914 18th Street), as there’s always a history lesson learned while visiting the shop.

I met Mr Holman in Minnesota at a pottery festival. His work was beautiful and I really wanted to have a piece. Nothing he had would fit my room so he offered to make a custom piece. I sent him a picture of the space where I wanted the piece and measurements. Look what he made!!! It's beautiful and matches my home perfectly. Thanks Mr. Holman

We are SO enjoyed at the pottery class and the final potteries. Can’t believe this is our first time and the potteries look so good, even though the cup shrunk a lot. Lol One thing is that we waited for a month

Handmade pieces of pottery available for purchase and a few classes are offered a year. If you have the opportunity to attend a class and have never worked on a potters wheel, I highly recommend it!

My friends and I took a pottery class last week with Tony (the owner) and had more fun than we could even imagine. Tony was so accommodating and made us feel welcome at his shop. He was beyond helpful with his tips and tricks and felt like a friend by the end of our class. We didn’t want the night to end! We have yet to pick up our pieces (should take about a month) but it’s gonna be worth the wait. He had so many beautiful glazes to choose from. Definitely check this place out if you wanna have a relaxing, fun night and have some keepsakes to remember it by. Well worth the money spent and I know we will be back again. Thanks for the memories, Tony!

Neat little spot. The owner was super insightful and kind. Bought a baby vase! Will be back soon to buy some bowls.

I called to find out information about his/their studio and was instantly cut off. I wanted to have a place for my daughter to go with me as she is very creative and having a birthday soon. The gentlemen was rude and told me they are not that type of place to just “throw clay”. We had planned to initiate classes. Had he not been so rude, my husband and I may have been at least interested in taking lessons with their staff, as we are also intrigued by the art of the trade since he said “they don’t allow kids”. Very unprofessional and rude. I would not recommend someone of that nature or imagine him being a driving force behind creating art.

Yelp
As one other review suggested, not sure why this shows up for Pottery classes. I am unable to find any information for Pottery classes. This profile needs to be updated or removed.

Yelp
I ordered a nacho plate from Holman Pottery years ago. Great design, well crafted. Tony listens to what you want, does it. If you have any issues with your item, he will correct it. Great art, great products, great customer service.

Yelp
No information on this business on what they provide exactly. If offer classes to make your own pottery and paint the the wife and I may be interested?? I will update this review if the business provides the proper information people need to make a decision.

Yelp
Scheduled a 3 hour introductory class. There were 7 of us in the class. Owner was friendly and informative. We each got to make 3 pieces of pottery. It was fun. Picked up pieces 3 weeks later. Very pleased.

Yelp
I passed this little joint on the way to a business meeting about 3 weeks before December holidays. After my meeting, still looking for that handcrafted gift I knew my wife and artist would love, I had to stop by. You know its location by the flag out front, and the greeting I got from Tony Holman was amazing. He and I collaborated on a single custom piece, which he hoped to have completed before the holidays. What an experience! Not only was his pricing amazing, the custom order was ready 4 days early, and my artist SO was very impressed with his skill. What a well run specialty business. I hope to find a reason to do more with them, but I know my wife will be bragging for months. Thanks Tony!

Yelp
What a fun place. Today I carved a jug-o-lantern (jack-o-lantern made out of pottery). The owners are upbeat and helpful in showing you how to carve. The gift area is a fun mix of their own pottery and other artisans work - glassware etc. A relaxed atmosphere in an 1890 Queen Anne style Victorian cottage on a half acre in the Haggard Park Historic District near Historic Downtown Plano.

Yelp
The traditional 9 year anniversary gift is pottery, so I went to Holman's. for less than $50 I got a nice little heart shaped bowl, a stopperless salt shaker, a tour of the facility, and a nice conversation with the potter. My wife loved the gift, I enjoyed visiting and supporting a local business. Stop in, really great stuff.

Yelp
During our visit to the Pecan Street Festival in Austin Texas this past weekend, came across Holman Pottery booth. Lots of nice pieces. I saw the *jug-o-lantern* pieces. Of course, each one had their own expression making it difficult to choose. Picked one with a *Surprised* look on it's face. Too cute.
