The Best Brunch Restaurants in Portland, Oregon | Eater Portland

"Build-your-own bloody marys are not for the faint of heart. They are awesome, however. This restaurant with surly servers and a spin-to-win menu (literally, there’s a wheel) has been around since 1933. It’s only a brunch place insofar as the unfussy breakfast menu is served as of 8 a.m. on the weekends. That doesn’t make it any less destination-worthy. Grab a seat on the patio on warm days." - Zoe Baillargeon

Where to Drink a Guinness in Portland | Eater

"Even with the recent revamp, this charming dive in Kerns is old-school Portland at its finest. This is the kind of place where beer and shot combos make perfect sense, so take a seat at the weathered bar (or the surprisingly nice back patio) and order a Guinness with a whiskey back. Everyone from out-of-town visitors to lifelong Portland natives can appreciate the come-as-you-are vibe." - Krista Garcia

The Team Behind Portland’s Sandy Hut Is Reopening Holman’s | Eater Portland

"I've learned that Holman’s Bar and Grill, a stalwart of the Buckman neighborhood since 1933, is about to get a new lease on life: Warren Boothby and Marcus Archambeault have bought the bar from former owner Bill Craine and plan to reopen it in a few months after it’s been temporarily closed since March 2020. The new owners, who have restored other storied Portland bars and manage places like the Alibi, Double Barrel, and Gold Dust Meridian, say the place “will remain Holman’s,” and one of its defining features—the game wheel that diners can spin for a chance to win a comped bill—will remain a fixture." - Janey Wong

Google
This is such a cozy and authentic PDX dive. I love relaxing here on my lunch break when it's calm, but it also has a super fun and lively vibe during the night! The food is a tiiiiiny bit hit or miss, the fries really could use some work and I'd love to see a couple more vegetarian items, but most items are good straightforward dive food! Love the VLT especially :) The bartenders are seriously the sweetest and prices are fair!

Holman's Bar & Grill – Review Holman's Bar & Grill is a classic neighborhood bar known for its friendly, laid-back atmosphere and solid American comfort food. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, wings, and pub-style appetizers, paired with a good selection of beers, cocktails, and spirits. The food is generally tasty and well-prepared, with generous portions that satisfy casual diners. Service is friendly and attentive, contributing to a welcoming vibe. The ambiance is relaxed, with bar seating, casual tables, and often TVs for sports. It’s a great spot for catching up with friends, enjoying a casual meal, or watching a game. Overall, Holman’s offers a reliable, comfortable bar-and-grill experience.

I don’t normally write reviews…but I love this place. If Portland still has a vibe, then it’s on 28th and definitely at Holman’s. Been coming here for over a decade — my go-to spot for a quick beer and smoke. Great patio, chill vibe, and always polite bartenders. Shoutout to Zoe (assuming she’s the manager?). The other night there was this wild rainstorm — felt like I was on a Universal Studios Jurassic Park ride that broke down mid-scene and everything started flooding. While most of us were just trying to stay dry with a drink in hand, Zoe jumped right in — literally — helping fix the flooding on the back patio with a bunch of others. She took charge, kept everyone’s spirits up, and clearly cares about the place. It’s rare to see someone handle chaos with humor and leadership. If she’s not managing yet, she absolutely should be.

Google
Cool place with interesting history. It's definitely cozy. The 57' burger is phenomenal. Between the perfectly prepared patty, toasted brioche bun, gooey swiss, and the thick pepper bacon ... the honey pepper sauce puts it over the top. One of the best burgers that I've had in town in a long time. Adam had amazing service.

Google
This is hands down the best best place I've ever been for breakfast! Everything was delicious, my friends and I couldn't stop talking about it! The water was also really good, we had 3 glasses!

Google
What should happen if your cocktail spills after one sip? And what if that cocktail spilled because the restaurant's table had a significant bump in it? According to the bartender, a towel to clean it up yourself, and no discounted/replacement drink. "It's out of my hands." As a regular at Holman's, I was shocked at the apathy I received during my most recent visit. I loved Holman's, but I feel burned and will be quick to warn others about this cost cutting technique. This review is up as long as I haven't reached a resolution with management. This was previously a 5 star review.

Yelp
This is a great little dive bar! I stopped in because i was in the area and saw that they started running their holiday menu. We got two of the drinks of the holiday list : the rubi martini & the sleighbell sour The Rubi Martini was better than i expected! it wasn't too sweet and was easy to drink. I preferred the sour, it was really balanced and i ended up getting a second. Service was friendly, casual & fast they also have really good house made mozzarella sticks

Yelp
Holman's is a great dive bar. I went last night, and it was sparkling with colorful Christmas lights. It has elevated ceilings and a beautifully carved wooded bar. Warm colors, wood grain and vintage decor. The service was pleasant and prompt. Thanks, Cole. I'm big fan of chicken tenders. They're large pieces coated in Panko crumbs with a healthy portion of fries. I get them every time. The rest of the food being served looks good as well. They serve traditional pub dishes, and it's all made in house. The in house made touch comes through in the quality and taste. They have live music about once a month. Usually on Thursday. It does fill up with patrons, so get there early, if you'd like a seat. We found street parking. Their lot was filled. Oh, and they have Guinness on Draft!!! And an outdoor patio, which is open all year

Yelp
Stopped by Holman's and really enjoyed the outdoor patio in the back -- perfect for a sunny day. Inside, the booths and pool tables make it a fun spot to hang out with friends. The wings could have had a bit crispier texture. The happy hour is solid. Overall, a great place to relax, grab a bite, and play a few rounds of pool.

Yelp
What do you get when you mix great cocktails and neon signs? A fantastic dive bar you keep going back to!!! They've been around since 1933 and that says a lot. They are famous for their Bloody Marys but I didn't try it cuz it's not my thing. But my friends loved it so much they went back later that week. They got you covered from breakfast to dinner, they got happy hour delights and even their own Whiskey club for those interested. So come on down and drink your way through their list of libations!!

Yelp
Nice dive bar with decent prices and a cozy outdoor area. We came here late one night as it was one of the only places that was open near where we were staying! The drinks were decent and the place was a bit empty as it was a Sunday night. We didn't get to try the food so no word on that. More people were in the outside area with the heaters. There were a decent amount of tabled out here with a few heaters. We liked the vibe here! It was recommended by a friend who lived close by!

Yelp
I generally despise bars, especially those of the "dive" variety. Holman's, though, has an undeniable "cool" and comforting vibe. It is also far larger than expected, with two main rooms (one bar and one more of a "dining" room, the latter of which is where bands perform). There is also a big outdoor patio area with picnic tables and umbrellas. A very unique standout is the cab of a vintage Semi truck protruding right out from the building (VERY cool!). I came here to see a band play, and had a great time! There were lots of dancers, who tended to block the view of the stage area, but it was really nice to see so many people having so much fun. The band was FANTASTIC, and fellow patrons were extremely friendly (always a plus). Staff is very helpful and friendly, and there are MANY non-alcoholic options. The food is CHEAP, and portion size is big. I got the chicken strips are fries, and they were far better than expected. Parking can be a challenge, as their private lot is on the small side (not a lot of parking spaces), and street parking is tough.

Yelp
Fascinating spot in PDX. Ended up there with a group of 5. We headed out to the back patio and honestly there was nowhere to sit except a small 4 person table. There were a few singles sitting at larger tables but they showed NO signs of moving. So...we all squished into a 4 top, really four of us did and one person sat on a barrier wall at the end of the table. We ordered a burger, some beers and a bunch of apps. Food was ok, we were there about an hour and no other table opened up nor did anyone offer to move or swap tables.

Yelp
This place is a classic Portland dive bar. The drinks are cheap and the pretzel was crazy good. They have an awesome patio, with decent coverage on a rainy day. The only thing lacking was the service. I wouldn't say they're rude, just not very friendly, and I felt like a burden when going up to order.

Yelp
Holmans is a super fun and lively pub! There's a great outdoor space and the place is super dog friendly. Food is decent and reasonably priced, and comes out pretty quick! Service is phenomenal - you order at the bar and everything comes out quickly! The employees are super friendly and kind. The place also had pool and pinball machines!! 10/10 will be back

Yelp
A fun divey bar with plenty of seatings. We enjoyed their Midori Sour and Magarita very much! Super flavorful and refreshing. Super hardworking bartenders as well. A fun spot to hangout and get rowdy.

Yelp
A fun little dive bar which made for a great night in Portland! We were stopping in for a nightcap but wound up sticking around for a long night -- if you're expecting chatty bartenders who can make speciality drinks... this is not the spot. If you're looking for a spot to play arcade games with fun bartenders who make drinks with generous pours... this is most definitely the spot. It's deceptively large on the inside with a nice back patio. I loved the 6-in-1 arcade machine with games ranging from Galagga to Donkey Kong -- I think we easily spent an hour there. They have a pool table which is pay-to-play. It wasn't crazy busy the night we went, but they had on a college football game which drew some fans. I'm glad our post-dinner detour wound up here!

Yelp
good spot great patio, lots of scraps from bars past, truck out back from Sloans really brings me back.

Yelp
I just wanted a grilled cheese sandwich. They have a grill, they have cheese, they have bread for sandwiches. I offered to pay full freight for another sandwich if they would make a grilled cheese, but was told no. I guess the customer is not always right. Sad, it seemed like a cool option next to my work.
google avatar

Yelp
A great SE Portland experience. With ample indoor and outdoor seating, patrons will have plenty of opportunity to choose a place to hang out. The biggest obstacle to your good times will be ordering drinks, with limited areas at the bar to sneak past sitting guests, so be ready to order more than one drink at a time (for the table, not for one person). I loved the vibes. Weird art, incredible objects, and dark rooms. What's better than this during Portland's bleak falls and winter? The drink prices are quite fantastic, with several just around the $10 mark. The staff are also very kind and will help you modify any drinks you need. The bathrooms can be confusing, so make friends and ask for directions.

Yelp
Good burgers good fries good beers good cider. Fun patio if you want to bring your dog. Can get crowded and loud outside but there's always inside.
google avatar

Caleb M.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite bars in the area. It's got a classic dive bar feel and a great covered outdoor seating area in back. I've never had to wait at the bar for too long to order a drink. The bartenders have always been friendly to me and I've even seen them help other people figure out a good drink based on the types of liquor they like.
google avatar

Kimberly D.

Yelp
Food is meh and not worth the wait. Service is counter and my husband waited close to 30 minutes to order. We left after we ate and went across the street to Cheese and Crack. Beautiful place though. Their website doesn't reflect what they actually serve. I probably wouldn't have even gone if I knew that.
google avatar

Christopher M.

Yelp
Came by for brunch today - this is my favorite breakfast burrito in Portland right now. Instead of salsa on the side, you get a cup of sausage gravy to drizzle on every bite, yum! Did I mention the top-notch bar sign collection inside, and doors along the walls that have been collected over the 80 years this place has existed? It's a cozy, your uncle's cabin in the woods vibe. Staff is awesome and friendly. Order at the bar, but don't have to bus your own table. It's a small kitchen, so be sure to order a Bloody Mary, screwdriver (or two!) while kitchen gets orders out :)

Don S.

Yelp
Stopped in today to check out Holman's as a possible dive bar to frequent. We had martinis and relaxed. The bar is a throwback and brought back memories (my wife and I are old school 70 and 71 years old). Great vibes and the play mix was incredible (Buck Owens, George Trait, Waylon, Kitty Wells). Kind of place. Will frequent in the future. Martini and classic country can't be beat! Thanks for the experience

Yelp
fun atmosphere and the staff/service is outstanding. some of the nicest and best bartenders in the whole dang town.

Yelp
Dive bar? Holman's is the perfect description of one. Lots of cool things here. First things first, join the whiskey club. Drink all the different types of whiskey on the list and get a plaque on the wall with your name on it. Probably don't do it all at once. Lol. Spin the wheel after you eat. If it lands on the designated area, your meal is free. Play some games after you're done or just hang out and have a drink. The food was alright...nothing memorable besides the chicken fried steak being bigger than the state of Portland. It's bar food...so don't expect gourmet goodness. Probably wonderful for a hangover. Service was friendly and cool. They were on it and got us additional drinks when ours were running low. If you're looking for a dive bar, this is it. You'll be happy and content. Street parking only.

Megan R.

Yelp
Service is horrible. In fact, there is no table service. Lots of attitude from the bartenders and they are often late opening. Too bad, they used to be great under former management. No adult in the place.
google avatar

Yelp
After a restless night of not sleeping in Portland, I awoke craving a strong cup of coffee and - after that - a Bloody Mary. So I searched for Bloody Mary buffets on Yelp and found Holman's not far from my lodging. This iconic and very vintage Portland bar features dark wood, dark lighting, friendly service, and a pretty delicious-looking breakfast menu. But, having just downed a giant caffe latte at the coffee shop down the street, I wasn't hungry so I just ordered up trip through the Mary buffet. For a very reasonable $6.75 I was given a pint glass with a healthy shot o' well vodka in it and sent to the back room where the buffet awaited. I gotta say, the selection of mixers and hot sauces was over-the-top impressive. And while the selection of add-ins was pretty so-so (um, no bacon or pepperoni sticks - what?!), it was enough to make myself a mean Mary to get the day off to a fun start.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun spot for a night out. Cool crowd. Damn good wings. Damn good bar food in general. If I lived here, I'd hit up this spot regularly.
google avatar

Jimmy R.

Yelp
I'm glad that this space is still active, but the food has gone WAY downhill. How do you mess up a Chicken Caesar Salad this badly? The meat was fried (which defeats the purpose of ordering a salad), much too salty and really gristly. Now I'm up at 4am with an upset stomach. Major disappointment from an old fan.
google avatar

Seneca P.

Yelp
Came by both March 26th & March 27 on both mornings it was after 9:30 and they were closed both times, I'm guessing they hours don't matter as it appears that hours depend upon what ever they want to open not posted . We went to a place that was open .

Yelp
What kind of bar makes you line up for 30 minutes at 7pm on a Friday for a drink and food..end result you get your food, one drink and leave..crazy

Yelp
Sunday the 17th 2023 went in for Eggs Benedict and was seriously disappointed. First the menu says thick sliced Canadian bacon and generous hollandaise sauce. I ordered that with a side of Hollandaise sauce . What I was served was a hard-boiled poached egg with room temperature hollandaise sauce, shaved deli sliced thin Canadian bacon. The bartender had informed me only he could take orders. So after being served I had a bite of the house cut potatoes and asked for ketchup from the server, on his return told him potato are great. But When I cut into the poached egg that was well done and shaved bacon and the cold hollandaise sauce I decided this wasn't right. Then I took my sauce dish and asked for the bartender to bring me warm hollandaise sauce even though the egg wasn't right I was willing to still eat it. What I got back was the same room temperature hollandaise sauce. Then I took my whole meal out to the bar and could see the cook, I do believe he was giving me a harsh look about my complaints of having asked for warm sauce. However the potatoes were excellent. And the bartender took the whole meal off of my tab. Thank you because I left 3/4 of it behind. Paid $6 for a simple well gin and tonic with muddled lime. Which everywhere else is like 4.50. To say the least I won't be back. By the way I was really looking forward to having meals there. Back in the day it holds nostalgia for me for the after hours when I was closing down bars downtown and coming home having a meal on my way. The decor is there, bartender was friendly but the cook that day failed. If you order a poached egg make sure you order soft center unless you like it firmly cooked. And Warm hollandaise.

Simple C.

Yelp
Stood there waiting. Made eye contact and smiled at bartender who walked past me to the end of bar to greet people who just walked in (CLEARLY after me) and serve them drinks. Then another guy walks in and sits down. He also gets served. I'm still standing there. Finally get to order. I have 1 veggie burger and 2 well vodkas. $29!?!?! Burger - $9.25 Well vodka - $9.875 ?! A shot of well vodka is more than a burger?!
google avatar

Chris E.

Yelp
Tried twice to have breakfast here. Evidently, it's a guessing game as to their hours. The website says 8a. The door sign says 10a. Neither is apparently correct. Won't be trying again. And those at the door in line with us probably won't either.

Yelp
I miss living down the street from Holman's! A great dive bar with daily drink specials, pinball machines, pool tables, Sunday Bloody Mary bar, and a Whiskey Club. They even have a patio in the back if you don't feel like sitting inside. Happy Hour is the time to go to Holman's. Items on their Happy Hour menu are under $10. I absolutely love their fried Mac and Cheese bites - have not been able to find anything like it at any other place in town. Bartenders are all super nice and helpful. They've got plenty of beers and a full bar (if you're not a fan of beers). What else can I say? Try stopping at Holman's before or after your movie at Laurelhurst theater next time you're around. If you're lucky, you can spin their wheel and maybe have your entire meal paid for on the house!
google avatar

Terry D.

Yelp
We live around the block we were so excited to see that Holman's reopened I wanted to like it so badly but. No table service one bartender to take orders a guy that spent more time wiping down tables and putting menus on the tables then bringing out our food. Never once came by to ask us if everything was okay. On the weekend lunch menus don't come out until 3:00 p.m. which are also happy hour menus so I paid extra for a burger and fries because I arrived 30 minutes too early for happy hours. I want to support your business but I won't be back sorry.
google avatar

Randall B.

Yelp
I love me a good dive bar and Holman's is a great one. Holman's has two generous happy hours. A regular one that goes all the way to 7:00 then another one that goes from 10 till midnight. On top of that already generous happy hour window, they have daily specials as well. My favorite is the Tightwad Tuesday where the well whiskey and tall boys are $2.50 each. That makes for a $5 boilermaker all day. Combine that with the Laurelhurst Theater next door and you have a cheap date night. So why 4 stars instead of 5. The well whiskey they use is a step below your average well of Old Crow. I can't remember what it is, but it's got an off putting vanilla after taste. I still guzzle it down though. The other problem is that Holman's food is a level below your standard Portland dive bar food. All that said, the prices are great, the drinks are stiff, and the back patio is rocking.

Savanah F.

Yelp
Would give this bar 0 stars if I could. I expect shitty service from the bartenders at any place owned by the people who operate Sandy Hut, but the bartenders here are especially terrible. Rude for no reason the second you approach the bar. There are no redeeming qualities for this place. Food is subpar, drinks are subpar, and the bartenders radiate a terrible energy.

Claira F.

Yelp
Not sure what happened, loved this place back in the day. Bartender was rude for no reason (like rude for rude's sake, not just harried because she was busy). There are better places to get your clam strips and well drinks fix on a Friday night.

Yelp
The slanty shanty. That is the floor of this bar bursting with character. The floor is slanty and the personality of this spot may be shanty but she shouldn't be written off. We had a blast. Our bartender was a breath of fresh air. She's probably seen it all but I highly doubt she has a bitter bone in her body. It's dark here, safe, comfortable and casual. I'm not sure about a dinner destination but I've learned at least 3 things tonight about the food. 1. Don't do the happy hour chicken bites, go for the strips. Our server took one look at the way we reacted to the bites and automatically brought us the strips with a smile on her face. She knew what was up. 2. Sliders are a great bet for happy hour. They looked awesome and our party was pleased with them. 3. If you're in it for excellect greasy spoon breakfasts, here's your hot spot. I like the casual, I love the slanty. Covered patio out back, smoking permitted. Not a single ounce of pretentiousness in the place. Great fully stocked bar, there is a whiskey club (yes, an actual whiskey club). Ask if you're inclined. We also spun the wheel you can spin to get your food on house. We had a lucky spin. Prices on happy hour run $3.00-$5.00 and regular menu items about $10.00-$17.00. They have pinball and pool. It's honestly some of the best service I've received from a bartender and in a bar period. While it's not fancy it's a good place. If you like classy dives, dive right into Holman's.

Dave H.

Yelp
I've been in 6 times since the reopening, hopeful and optimistic, and left disappointed each time. I was a few-times-a-week regular before, plaque on the wall, etc. and now, I have my fingers crossed that things will somehow improve before I wander in again. From slow distracted bar service to the tiny, poorly executed menu, this long-awaited reopening has been little more than a sad reminder that Holman's is gone and it's not coming back.
google avatar

Mikhail H.

Yelp
Do you need a corn dog and some fries at 1am? Because I did...I did not know I did but I did. This place is rad with good service at 1am when you do need a freaking corn dog and fries. My partners in crime had some cocktails and various other fried items. I even got a chance to think about eating remotely healthy and getting a salad so its there if you want it.... They also have pool tables, pin balls and lots of spaces to tuck into with your crew. It amuses me so hard that I have dropped into here more times than I can count to hug a friend or drop someone off, pick someone up - just you name it but my first time ever having friends drag me in there to stay and order was just recently.

Yelp
The patio out back is the place to be on a warm night! Lots of tables and chairs, party lights, even a few trees. So pretty and with all the chatter, you don't hear any street noise and forget you are in the city. Who even knew this little sanctuary in the midst of a dense Urban block existed? Evidently a lot of people as the patio was packed last night! The servers work super hard running back and forth with drinks and food. Seriously, I could not believe how well they managed such a crowd. If you go, please make sure to tip them well. Didn't have any food, but some of the people I was with had the sliders and said they were good. Drinks were strong. I had hard cider and it was just $5.50. Inside, the bar is divided into a few rooms. Bar area, rooms with tables and chairs all tightly packed, and one room with a pool table. The entire Restaurant has an old and dingy feel, everything original and in serious need of basic updating. The floor in the pool room is so slanted at first you wonder if it's you or the floor. Even if you had a few drinks, it's the floor! There are two unisex bathrooms...and last night they weren't that clean. For me, I'll stick to the patio! *Super important* - Park in their lot between Holman's and The Blue Goose or on the street. Do NOT park in any lot that belongs to another building that states no parking and threatens to tow your car. They will! They did! A friend had her car towed and it cost almost $400 to get it back. Ruined what was a fun evening.

Julia N.

Yelp
Checked this place out today for the first time since reopening. My biggest complaint is how incorrect basically all of the information On their website and even on this site is nearly completely wrong. They're hours are listed on multiple platforms. Including Google has 8 AM to 2:30 AM. With breakfast served all day. They are. In fact, only open from 2 PM until 2:30 AM. Monday through Friday. They are only open for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. And the lunch/dinner menu is not available until 3 PM. The menu information Is also incredibly wrong? Both in the menu items available and the prices shown on their website. Many items listed on the website are no longer available. And the prices being charged currently are way higher than what's listed on their website. I definitely understand that prices have gone up most places but correcting this information on your website, and other platforms is really important. Most people verify if a business is open by checking Google. Very frustrating when that is not updated. That being said, the food was good solid bar food. Really good fries. Lack of table service is annoying but I get restaurants are struggling and cutting labor. The building is fantastic. Love that they have preserved the original feel.

Yelp
Cardiac alert: so glad I split the super popular Morning Mess. The gravy is so good, however, I wish they'd replace the hamburger/sausage with something else (or dice the meat.) Very friendly service. The Spin The Wheel get a free meal feature is so cool; about two people a day hit the mark. Great vibe. Hey, they employ this concept where the server takes your order, delivers your food, and you don't have to bus it. And, and, and, if you want more water or an extra utensil they bring it to you rather than point somewhere so you can get it yourself.

Yelp
Went to check out the newly reopened Holman's and man this place sucks now! Little to no customer service, no table service, bartender was less than helpful and condescending. Food menu is pretty much gone compared to how it used to be. This place is trying SO HARD to be Waylon Jennings. No thanks, I'll just go to Angelo's from now on.

Yelp
Service excellent! Food excellent! Great spot to grab lunch while at work as I did and see people enjoying the drinks.

Yelp
The burgers are simple but delicious. Breakfast sandwich at brunch on the weekends is amazing (esp for a hangover). The bartenders are local and kind folks. And the dimly lit dining space is charming by the billiard table. It's homey. Good luck finding seating on a weekend night.

Yelp
Can't recommend this place. It's kinda messed up that they don't care about someone having a dead bug in their drink.

Yelp
I loved the old Holman's and was super excited that it came back. However, my first time there was such a disappointment! They no longer have table service even when ordering food. Might not be such a big deal if the bartenders were at least polite. They were not. They took their time wiping down the bar, etc. while we waited for service. Then they acted super put out when we ordered our drinks. Not one smile! The menu was about a third of what it used to be. Basically burgers. We were going to order food anyway, but the bartenders were so rude and slow that we just decided to leave and go elsewhere. Bummer!

Yelp
my beer was fine, and the service was fine, and the outdoor patio is nice. the food was lousy though. i ordered the liberty burger, and it was thin as a shoehorn, with about as much flavor. sorry guys. i wanted to give you your first positive review since you re-opened, but i can't. it wasn't just me, my friends didn't like their food either, and after we finished, we left and went over to the goodfoot lounge for our 2nd round.

Yelp
I've been coming to this restaurant/bar for at least 18 years and I'm sad to say, it's gone down hill. They have a great area in the back for summer time...too bad they don't staff it. I used to come all the time on my lunch breaks from work with my mom and one day they stopped serving outside. Find a different restaurant if you want to enjoy lunch outside. Maybe don't have an outdoor area, at least during busy meal times, if you don't want to staff your restaurant enough to cover your areas. Second, I work within walking distance and during it's better days, I'd order breakfast when I got to work and then walk over and pick it up. I hadn't ordered from Holmon's for awhile because the quality of the food had gone down hill, that combined with the service and this restaurant had completely slipped from my mind. I came in to work starving today and decided to call in an order, pop on down to pick it up and be back at work before anyone knew I was gone. I call and am told they no longer do phone orders. What? My only option side from going down and sitting at their restaurant was to pay $7 delivery plus inflated menu prices and have DoorDash or Grubhub bring it to me in maybe 45-60 minutes. Yeah, no thanks. Your food isn't that good. Maybe work on the food quality and service and people would be more willing to come down to your restaurant and actually eat it there. It sucks people order and then don't show up to pick up the food, but that doesn't mean you stop offering that service. You fix your issues instead or deal.
