How to Plan the Perfect Multi-island Trip to Hawaii

"Although you’re not permitted to step ashore on Ni'ihau, the “Forbidden Island,” without an invitation, you can snorkel the waters nearby on a Holo Holo Charters Super Tour." - Travel + Leisure Editors

We had an amazing day on the water. The crew, Heather, Mike, & Kevin, could not have been more skilled, knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, or amazing. They truly made the trip and made sure everyone felt safe. The views were unmatched and I will be forever grateful for this beautiful day on the water. 10/10 recommend. Don’t forget to bring a jacket for the way in. I hear the dolphins show more for the morning tours if you’re debating which to choose. Thank you!!

Had a great time with Captain Mike and his awesome crew last week! This was our third sunset cruise with Holo Holo and it did not disappoint. We had rough seas going out and coming back, but it was super fun, and every time we’ve been out there it’s been different. The views were spectacular, the captain and crew were knowledgeable and they shared a lot of Kauai history with us. Met some very nice people as well. So nice to see people celebrating honeymoons and anniversaries. Dinner was good. Even got a rainbow on our way back. Got back to the dock soaking wet, salty, and happy. Mahalo!

Been on many charters , but Holo Holo rates as 1 of the best as far as the newest ships and best staff. 2 meals are included with evening sunset charter. Crew was very attentive and caring towards seasick 1st timers. Thank you Captain Matthew, Kevin, and Lucy for a most memorable trip, will def be back and request you again. You will not be disappointed with Holo Holo for anything you book. they are truly worth every cent

Google
Captain Mike and crew provided valuable guidance regarding the “spicey” conditions that could be expected considering the winds expected late in the afternoon. Their concern and care for everyone’s safety and comfort was exceptional. The crew was vey knowledgeable of the landmarks and sights we enjoyed as well as being very attentive to ones affected by the very active motion of heading into the wind. The sights were incredible, food and service were outstanding, catamaran and crew were very seaworthy on a splashy day. Would definitely do again when Captain Mike would say he expected “smooth sailing.” If he says there might be some rough seas, you may want to listen and reschedule. Great, memorable trip for us!!

First class outfit from check in to departure and returning to port. Thank you Capt Jess and crew. We did the Super Tour and it was a advertised, super!! Great snorkel spot. Two nice meals and amazing views of the NaPali coast... truly breathtaking from the water. We really enjoyed the excursion. We saw wildlife along our route and had a super experience. Fair warning - while we got what WE expected and really enjoyed the trip, the open ocean swells and 7+ hours on a boat can be difficult for some. I would highly recommend Holo Holo and their crews.

Google
If I could give higher than 5 stars I would. Nate, John and the entire crew were fantastic. Professional, engaging, entertaining and knowledgeable. The entire trip was phenomenal, the snorkeling experience was more than I ever expected. We were able to see multiple types of marine life including sharks and seals. We also were able to see three different types of dolphins during the boat trip. I highly recommend Holo Holo charters especially Nate and crew.

Captain Glenn was obviously experienced and showed us so many unique features of the entire area going out and returning. Aaron also knew so much and was very helpful and took good pictures of each of us with our phones. I hope I remembered Jess' name correctly. She helped us all, I swear she seemed everyone's right hand mate. Together they all gave us such a great experience. It also helped we had extraordinarily calm seas. We spotted two groups of humpback whales, and spinner dolphins. Goats on the mountains, waterfalls, spectacular views! The coast was awesome, no one became ill, the food and service was perfect for our anniversary celebration. This was the best tour for our last outing before returning home. My wife and I highly recommend this sunset tour. 😃

Google
Hands down one of the best things we did in Kauai! We went on the sunset sail with Holo Holo Charters and it was incredible from start to finish. The Napali Coast is just wow. Those cliffs and sea caves don’t even look real. We even saw the sweetest couple celebrating their 50th anniversary by showering under a waterfall from the boat - so cute. The food was great (light lunch and dinner on board!) and eating with that view? Unreal. The waves were a little big that day, but Captain Mike has been doing this for over 20 years and made everything feel super smooth. And then the sunset… the whole sky lit up in the most amazing colors. It’s a memory I’ll have forever. If you’re in Kauai, do this tour. Trust me, you’ll love it.

Yelp
This is an excellent boat cruise, but unless you have sea legs, I don't recommend it. The tour itself is over five hours long and the waves can be incredibly choppy. Multiple people vomited on our boat. But, if the sea is for you and you don't get seasick, this is an absolutely beautiful and breathtaking tour of the coast. The captain Mike was a really nice guy and drove the boat safely. He went over all the safety recommendations before we left and even gave people an opportunity to get a full refund - because it was so choppy - and not come on the tour. We of course still went - because we love boats. The drinks were plentiful, and we enjoyed the service from all of the crew members. They were a little bit too chatty, and I recommend just moving to a place where you cannot listen if you don't like to talk to anyone while cruising. The catamaran has trampolines you can lay on, but you will get wet. The boat does allow young children and teenagers, so just be aware if you were looking for a romantic catamaran ride this is not it. I would absolutely do this tour again. You guys have done a great job and the food was delicious. The only recommendation I would have is that when people throw up that you clean the railings immediately- because each of those people who vomited got puke all over the railings and their hands and then touched everything and that was gross. Not your fault, people are just disgusting.

Yelp
The views were amazing, however it was only 1 spot of snorkeling for appx 1 hr for a 7 hour day. Was able to see rare turtle, monk seals and a Manta Ray. Good food, friendly staff, only 1 bathroom for 50 passengers

Yelp
$350 7 hour Niihau + Napali Super Tour: I was hesitant about booking because of cost, length of time, and motion sickness. However, I took the leap of faith and it turned out to be worth it! THIS BEING SAID - I would NOT go on this tour if you are susceptible to motion sickness. It will get really rocky. I took a preventative Dramamine even though I've been on boats before. They're very organized and give these tours daily. I felt very safe. They called us to confirm the day before and sent a list of things to bring like sunscreen - don't forget to wear clothes and a rain jacket that can get FULLY soaked if you want to sit out front. Bring an inflatable waterproof phone case with a lanyard too for photos. At 6 am, you'll have a briefing by the captain and he warned us that we could cancel with a full refund. Most of us accepted the challenge. There's 1 captain and 3 friendly crew members. You can sit inside a covered section, outside at the back of the boat, or at a small section at the very front of the boat (the splash zone). At times you can also stand up but the number one rule is HOLD ON! One concern I had is that there was a small child on board but she wasn't required to wear a life jacket. This was odd to me coming from the mainland US where children are required to wear life jackets at sea. I decided to sit in front for most of the tour. The way over to Niihau was relatively smooth - like being on a speed boat - but you could stand up if holding on. It took an about an hour. They played relaxing tropical music. We didn't see wildlife on the way there but being out on the water was a joy. They served a modest breakfast with eggs, pastries, and fruit. Coffee was available. Once we got close to Niihau the captain told us the history and then we made our way to the crater to find a snorkel spot. It got more rocky on the way there. One of the crew members jumped in first to make sure the water was safe and we saw a manta ray. Once we dove in, the snorkeling was awesome! The visibility was great and we saw lots of fish. I even saw a reef shark and a monk seal. We snorkeled for an hour until 9:30 am. It gets chilly in the water so they had a warm fresh water hose to spray down before drying off. Please note: snorkeling is never a guarantee and depends on weather. If we didn't get to snorkel, I would've expected a partial refund since that contributes to the value. We crossed the channel again to head to Napali coast. This was the rockiest ride of my life. I sat in the front and it was like riding a water ride at an amusement park for about 1.5 hr. The swells were 3-5 feet coming from different directions so they'd combine to be even larger swells. Sometimes the front of the boat wasn't even touching the water. But I was having an absolute blast!! We were getting sprayed and splashed almost constantly, but it was such a rush. They told us that if we wanted to move to the back, we would need to wave our hands for them to slow the boat down. This happened a few times. After that wild ride, it started to get old and I desperately desired calm waters. We stopped to see some dolphins sleeping and that's when I made my move to get my sunscreen and rain jacket. It gets very cold in addition to being soaking wet up front. My biggest mistake was not wearing the rain jacket and not reapplying sunscreen post snorkel because the hour ride back burned us (literally) pretty bad. Then we made it to the beautiful coast of Napali, which was genuinely stunning. I was feeling a little gross from inhaling so much salt water so I enjoyed the slower cruise. However it was still pretty rocky at times. They have plenty of photo ops both at the crater and the Napali coast and will take photos for you. They also provide unlimited drinks with an ample selection of non-alcoholic beverages (alcohol post snorkel). I stuck to sparkling water and wouldn't recommend drinking alcohol on these rocky waves unless you have a strong stomach. They served lunch which was deli sandwiches, pasta salad, and a veggie tray. I'd suggest some bags of chips or dessert as well since it was a pretty modest lunch. I got to lounge in the sun on their front deck tarp when the boat was going slow but then I spent the rest of the time inside. They have 2 bathrooms and sea sickness buckets. It's also important to note that you can always see one of the islands when out at sea, which makes it feel less like you're in the middle of the ocean - if you're nervous about that. While I think the same experience could've cost less I still feel it was worth it - it's only $50 an hour for an experience you wouldn't otherwise able to have in Kauai. Thanks so much Holo Holo and to our crew for transporting us safely and making it a fun last day in Kauai!

Yelp
Captain Nate was very capable and stated everything clearly that we would experience. Easy sign up and check in. Crew was fabulous--very attentive. They watched carefully so no one would fall on rough water and served a great meal and snack. Scenery was stunning!

Yelp
We went winter time for the sunset cruise. If you decide to go then, BE READY! The water was rough, and the waves were big. Some people got sick, but it was a fun ride. The guides were correct when warning us of things that would make us seasick. The water was calmer near the coast, so we got some good pictures. The sunset was beautiful!

Yelp
Had a wonderful outing doing Holo Holo's super tour! As a tourist, this was the perfect tourist activity. Holo Holo took me to places I couldn't access on my own. The staff was very friendly/helpful, the boat had all the conveniences needed, and the entire process was very easy from booking to parking. The scenery was epic, loved getting to go in the water. There is potential for seasickness because you're truly out in the ocean but I felt safe the entire voyage as Holo Holo was a very professional operation. No regrets, would 100% do it again.

Yelp
Great caption and fantastic crew. I travelled with older folks who were a bit nervous. They relayed many times how safe they felt. The weather was rough and yet I came away feeling if we revered spinner dolphins as deity the planet would not be on fire. What a magical day. Ask to sit in front and bring a rain coat because this is the best E ticket ride ever! Also we took the am tour and watched the sun rise over the ocean. Stunning. I had to call back 3-times with questions (due to my travel party) and the reservations staff is great too! This was my first trip to Kauai and I'll be bringing by family back with my grandchildren. They have all of the gear and prescription masks up to 7 which worked well for me even tbh rough I'm a 10 Well done Holo Holo.

Yelp
Make sure you pop a Dramamine cos 6, to include my wife, got sick on this tremendous adventure. The sail to Na Pali Coast gets progressively rougher and is pretty "SWELL," as you approach the center or Kalaulau Valley. It's the turnaround point, if weather allows, and is impressive. Charcuterie, crackers, veggies, and an abundance of beverages on way out is nice. On sail back, it's much calmer and time to dine & catch sunset. Food was "meh." Kalua pork was salty & dry, chicken Teri was bland & dry, pasta salad was good, and rice was the best thing! They do provide take out boxes for leftovers, if so inclined. The brownie Hans handed out was ONOlicious!!! Captain Glenn braved the waves and Rob & Hans were spectacular at seeing to everyone's needs. They all work their okoles off! So, make sure you show them at the disembark. Saw whales & dolphins on way out/in, so bonus, for those that care. Oh, and if you want true 4D, sit on the bow (front of the boat to you landlubbers!)! Good fun...

Yelp
After looking back at my photos I WISH I would have taken more photos! The captain said it would be probably be choppy and stated the knots (I can't remember what it was), but that it would be choppier the next day. He gave us a chance to bow out, but we stayed. That was nice he did that! We left early as the sun was rising and it was cold to begin with, but it heated up during the day and turned out to be a perfect, beautiful day. The one thing we really wanted to see were whales and we saw them! If I could attach a video here I would, but it doesn't let me. The tour we took was the "Niihau + Napali Super Tour - 7hr." It might be pricy, but VERY worth it! I get seasick, but I took (and brought extra) Dramamine. If you're prone to even a little bit of motion/sea sickness, TAKE IT prior to boarding!!! I can't stress that enough.

Yelp
Chin-sea-uh, Kevin, and Mike were dang good at what they do. We did the evening sunset cruise up the Napali coast and loved every second of it. We got the gift cards at the Costco in Lihue before heading out saving us 20% ($100) on our excursion for 2. Very knowledgeable crew about history, wildlife etc and very funny with classic one liners from start to finish. Was expecting the food to be mediocre but was very pleasantly surprised when it was delicious and one of my favorite meals on Kauai.

Yelp
K, Luke, and K were super friendly from the beginning to end. Had an amazing time with great weather and semi-smooth seas. My wife and I did the 5 hour tour with breakfast and lunch, and the food was great. The egg scramble was simple and delicious, including the best pastry I've had in a while. Can't recommend this boat trip enough!

Yelp
Captain Kathy and her crew make this trip so much fun and enjoyable! This is the second cruise I've taken since Sept of 2024 with Holo Holo and have been lucky to have Captain Kathy both times. I highly recommend this cruise for first timers or repeat customers. Thanks so much Captain Kathy and crew!!

Yelp
The crew, boat, views, snorkeling, wildlife were all amazing! My wife and I were on our ten year anniversary trip and had a blast! Capt Kellie was awesome, and we had a great time chatting with her on the way in. Holo Holo is a must do when visiting Kauai.

Yelp
While on a trip in July, we took a 7 hour boat trip with Holo Holo charters on one of their smaller catamarans. The trip took us from Port Arthur to Lehua crater off of the neighboring island of Ni'ihau. Before heading to the crater, we journeyed up and down the Napali coastline. We enjoyed dazzling views of the island and were accompanied by a pod of dolphins. While in the crater, we snorkeled and ate lunch.

Yelp
Had the best experience with Holo Holo Charters! From start to finish, everything was incredible. We got up close with playful dolphins, sea turtles, and whales--it was truly magical. The crew was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole journey feel safe and fun. This cruise was an unforgettable experience with some of the ocean's most amazing creatures. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for an adventure on the water while visiting Kaua'i!

Yelp
An Unforgettable Na Pali Sunset Tour - Adventure, Chaos, and a Whole Lot of Laughs! Our Na Pali Sunset & Sightsee Boat Tour with Holo Holo Charters was definitely one for the books! Captain Rob set the stage early, warning us that the waters would be rough due to an offshore storm. He even gave everyone the option to take a refund before we left. No one did--but looking back, I think some might have reconsidered! The tour started off great--calm waters, excitement in the air, and drinks flowing. My wife and I sat in the back corner of the boat, enjoying the ride. At first, the waves weren't too bad, but as we moved further north, things took a turn. I found myself gripping my third Mai Tai, trying to keep it steady, while around me, people started getting sick over the side of the boat. Crew members Luke and Aaron worked quickly to clean up, but as they were washing away the aftermath, the situation escalated--a poor woman in the restroom got tossed around by the waves and ended up smearing her shorts in what we can all agree was not pudding. The crew jumped into action, helping her get cleaned up, all while trying to keep up with the growing chaos. As if that wasn't enough, the skies opened up, and a torrential downpour started. My wife and I held onto each other for dear life, feeling like we had somehow landed on an episode of Deadliest Catch. Cameras stayed tucked away--there was no way we were risking losing them in the madness. Eventually, Captain Rob made the call to turn around for safety, and after a dramatic U-turn, we finally hit calmer waters. Despite all of this, we were laughing the entire time. The sheer unpredictability of it all made for a wild, unforgettable experience. And just when we thought the adventure was over, we were treated to a beautiful meal and the sight of whales breaching in the distance, which made the whole ordeal 100% worth it. Would I do it again? Absolutely--because when the weather cooperates, those Na Pali Coast views are spectacular. Just be prepared for whatever the ocean decides to throw your way! Huge thanks to Captain Rob, Luke, and Aaron for keeping us safe and making the trip as enjoyable as possible!

Yelp
This is our first time doing a charter boat. What better a place than the Nepali coast sunset dinner cruise. My Wife, 13 year old daughter and myself arrived at their office to a very enthusiastic captain who went over the basic safety rules and what to expect of the experience. We then all proceeded to walk down to the dock and board the ship. There were probably 25 passengers. Once settled in, we departed and the crew wasted no time breaking out the Mai tais and other assorted drinks. Right then, I knew this was going to be amazing! Once heading up the coast, they served an appetizer plate with various meats, fruits, and cheese and crackers. This would tide us over until dinner later. The trip up the coast was a bit rougher than I expected due to the weather and swells, but that wasn't their fault. My daughter spent most of the time on the bow getting soaked by the spray which she obviously loved. Once we arrived at our destination, the captain took the boat inside a sea cave which only their boat can do because they don't have a mast. It was amazing! After many pictures and more mai tais, we we served a delicious dinner buffet style. It was very good. The staff was incredible... constantly checking on everyone to see if they needed anything. The ride back was much smoother and the gorgeous sunset just topped off the experience. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Every time we're in Kauai, our agenda includes the Super Tour with Holo Holo Charters. This is our 6th time and we're always in awe of our spectacular day! The team is superb! Their care & attention for their guests from the time you check-in to escorting us back to the parking area is first-class to ensure the most memorable experience. Their breakfast and lunch was delicious especially their homemade cookies and open bar. We cannot thank you enough for such a memorable experience always. Mahalo! We will see you again next year.

Yelp
We took the sunset dinner cruise by Holo Holo and it was a wonderful experience - worth every penny! The views of the Napali coast were amazing. The crew was hands-on and kept tabs on everyone onboard. The captain of the ship communicated well and informed us ahead of time incase of approaching rough waters. I recommend having motion sickness tablets before boarding the boat incase you are prone to being seasick.

Yelp
Capt. Mike and his crew did a fantastic job on our sunset dinner cruise along the Nā Pali Coast, and from booking to returning to the dock, the whole process was smooth sailing! My girlfriends and I were looking to book a cruise only two weeks out before we arrived and thankfully we were able to book online with Holo Holo Charter. They were great about reminding us about the upcoming tour and the need to complete our waiver and check in the days leading up to the tour. Parking at their lot may be difficult if a lot of charters have gone out for the day, and you're not supposed to park across the street at the restaurant's spaces, as tempting as it may be. My girlfriends and I prepped by taking Dramamine, but unfortunately it didn't work for them. One was pretty miserable for three quarters of the 4.5 hour trip, and she ended up hurling over the side at one point. The crew were nothing but super helpful and nice throughout - and they had ginger ale, ginger chews and soda crackers for anyone feeling ill. I loved the rocking of the boat, especially up front where you also get hit by sea spray - it's like an amusement park flume ride! At the beginning of the trip, they laid out cheese, crackers and salami, and while heading back they brought dinner to each of us. There were plenty of drinks - alcoholic and nonalcoholic. I felt bad for those who got seasick but we all agreed this company does a stellar job with their tours. I highly recommend them and I really hope you tip the crew at the end of the trip - they are serving people throughout the sail, not just helping the captain sail the boat. From delivering drinks and food to regaling us with the history and stories of the Nā Pali Coast, the crew is busy the whole time. Please tip!

C Y.

Yelp
Very caring staff!!! I have difficulty walking so staff was so kind to find out if there was the best place for me to be on the boat. GRACE went to ask the captain what he thought then reported that captain said current weather conditions before our trip was indicating it was going to be choppy and possibly rainy. The captain kindly let everyone know this and offered a rescheduling or full refund. Because we were leaving soon we were unable to reschedule but they processed our refund quickly. I feel the staff has the Kauai heart and aloha spirit and i would, without a question book with them in the future. The office also was very nice and new with lots of sitting area and immaculate.

Yelp
The sunset cruise was amazing. The boat sped up the coast, and even though we opted to sit in the back, we caught the occasional refreshing spray from a wave. It was very windy when we went, but the boat ride was fine - I only saw a couple of people feeling sea sick, and the Holo Holo boat staff were very helpful, offering advice, ginger ale, saltines, ginger candies, and buckets. The mai tais, appetizers and dinner were great. The Na Pali coast was beautiful, and we loved it when they were finally able to unfurl the sail and slowly meander back down. We did not see any wildlife aside from mountain goats, but the sunset was so gorgeous and an amazing photo op. We were out for almost 6 hours and loved every minute. Can't wait to go again next time I'm in Kauai.

LauraAndKyle W.

Yelp
I cannot recommend Holo Holo Charters enough. We had an amazing time doing the Niihau and Na Pali coast tour as a family of three (9, 38, 45) with Captain Jess (4/19/25). The food, service, and experience could not have been better. The staff was so attentive and professional. I loved how they actively asked everyone if they wanted group pictures, constantly checked if people were handling the journey, if anyone needed drinks, etc. A few people became sick and they handled the situations discreetly and immediately without making guests feel bad. We got to see the beautiful landscape and snorkel. To top it off we got to see a humpback whale, monk seal, and dolphins. The crossing is a little rough but 100% worth it. People of all ages were on the journey and everyone had an amazing time. Book this tour!!

Yelp
The views were spectacular! The five stars are for the staff and the views. Alec and Ahren were amazing hosts. They took care of all the passengers on board, made sure everyone was safe, fed, and hydrated. Big shout out to Alec, who patiently took photos and was very engaging. Dinner was tasty, although many passengers didn't eat much due to seasickness. They packed up food for the passengers who didn't eat to take home. That was a very nice touch. The ride out was not as smooth as advertised and was a little wild. It felt as if the captain was rushing a bit to get out to give us the opportunity to see the coastline close-up and make sunset. It made for a 20 to 30 minute very bumpy ride.

Yelp
Having never visited any of the Hawaiin islands, I heavily researched all the boat cruise tours for Kauai. Hours of research paid off because Holo Holo Charters was awesome! My wife and I wanted to make the most of our tour so we booked the 7-hour Super Tour on their largest catamaran that takes you up the coast of Nāpali Coast and then west to the "hidden island" of Niʻihau. We arrived hours before dawn, checked in, received instruction from the captain, walked a few blocks to the dock, boarded the boat, and pushed off. As we made our distance from the coast, the sun began it's rise in the sky giving us a beautiful view of the coast with its backlit picture perfect setting. It only took about an hour to reach the Nāpali Coast. The captain stopped many times to allow for pictures. He was quite knowledgeable of the sights and had wonderful commentary. From the famous sights of the beach used in "Pirates of the Caribean" to local known treasures, the captain did not spare on the many impressive places. At one point we had a pod of dolphins join us and run along the catamaran for a good five minutes. Speaking of the catamaran, if you are adventurous, you can sit in the front and enjoy the incredible views with a splash of water here and there. Since the water was warm and the sun was up, I never found myself cold even though the wind was on me. We began our tour with an excellent breakfast of fresh fruit, muffins, and other goodies. The coffee was hot and good. Later, when we made it to Niʻihau we had an equally good lunch with sandwiches, salad, and chips. Beer and wine were also available. Niʻihau is an interesting and fasnitating island which of course the captain gave all the details to. Just north of it is a smaller island Lehua which has a picture worthy hole in it's cliff that the captain stops the boat at and the crew happily takes a picture of the guests in front of the ciff. This is also were we had lunch and then did some snorkeling with all needed equipment provided. As we began our return to Kauai, we were treated with a mother whale and her offspring playing in the water before us! I chose this trip for one more reason than maximizing our time on the sea and that was due to a back condition I have. My wife and I considered the tour where you can go into the caves but those use smaller rafts and with the choppy waves, I didn't think my back could handle it. The captain did have some concern for me on his boat but the large catamaran took the waves well and I had no issues at all. Lastly, the captain and crew were amazing. They were absolutely incredible. Cheerful, helpful, courteous, and skilled. There were times during the tour that their skills were on display and it was obvious they knew what they were doing. You really couldn't ask for more from a crew. When we left the boat and walked back to our car my wife and I were completely satisfied with the tour. Having been seven hours long, we were a bit worn out and thought, 'We checked that box off and won't need to do it again'. Looking back, and now recovered from the trip, umm, ya, we want to do it again. :)

Yelp
Booked this dinner cruise for the last day of vacation on Kauai. I was concerned since the weather can determine whether the boat will sail or stay docked. This didn't happen until an hour before you departed, but we lucked out, and the tour was on! Most of all of the island tour's groups leave from this harbor, and there's plenty of parking. The captain was very detailed about what the Na Pali Coast tour included and gave individuals the last chance to bail before we boarded ship. I suggest sea sickness meds if you're sensitive since I saw several adults getting ill. Excursion included an open bar, veggie appetizer platters, crackers and cheese, and buffet dinner. The two ship mates provided super service and knowledge regarding the beautiful coastline of the Na Pali coast. We even experienced a group of dolphins swimming along our boat. I would highly recommend Holo Holo Charters for a memorable tour, and don't forget to take care of the staff when departing.

Yelp
We booked a Napali Coast tour with Holo Holo and it was easily one of the best experiences of my life. Captain Kelly was amazing and very funny. The crew was so attentive and kind and was always making sure everyone had everything they needed and were safe (bumpy ride) We stoped to snorkel for about 45 minutes and also stopped and saw so many dolphins along the way! The boat was very comfortable They also fed us breakfast and lunch and had lots of drink options on board. If you're looking for a tour of the Napali Coast, I highly recommend booking with Holo Holo charters!

Yelp
My wife and I had an amazing experience with Holo-Holo Charters cruising up the Na Pali Coast. Captain Max, Rob, and Kekoa, were great and the information they provided on the Island and her people was great. Then entire crew went above and beyond. We would definitely do this again the next time we come to Kauai and would recommend this boat trip to everyone. For extra fun experience sit on the very front of the catamaran. This was awesome. Thanks again for everything.

Yelp
I'm literally on the boat, dictating my extreme happiness with this tour, charter voting and snorkeling experience. The crew could not have been more professional, and it was the highlight of my trip to Hawaii. Thank you.

Yelp
What a wonderful Sunset Sail from Port Allen along the Napali coast. The captain was skilled, professional, fun and accommodating . The crew were fabulous, very energetic, knowledgeable, and fun. They made an effort to talk to everyone and make sure their comfort needs were met. * We saw a whale! * The scenery really took you out of yourself. * The only downside was the wind just didn't cooperate for sailing. But everyone had a good time.

Yelp
An amazing experience all around. Captain Cole and team were tremendous. We saw sea monk up close (literally 2 feet or so from it while snorkeling), dolphins while on the catamaran, beautiful tour of the island. And even making sure sea-sick patrons were well taken care of. Prior to taking off from the dock there was coffee, tea, and hot coca. After we left the dock breakfast was served. I was surprised at how great the food was as well-breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs with cheese, pastry, and fresh fruit while lunch was a build your own sandwich bar with a wide variety of meats and cheese to choose from, pasta salad, and vegetables with dips. Throughout the excursion there was a wide selection of pop and juice and after snorkeling all you could drink local beers. A wonderful tour of the island, absolutely breath taking views, and beautiful wild life. 10 out of 10 recommend.

Yelp
Our group of 4 went on Holo Holo Charters on to the Napoli Coast and Snorkel adventure. Our Captain Jess and cabin crew Lucy and KeKoa made our adventure so memorable. We gathered at the office, walked to the boat as a group, left the port and were snorkeling in only a few minutes. Lucy supervised our snorkel group from a surf board and KeKoa also assisted. Once back on board we had a continental breakfast and resumed our trip back up the coast of Kauai. Such a beautiful island both Jess and Lucy shared interesting historical and current events. We saw dolphins, turtles and whales! I have taken a number of catamaran trips on both Maui, and Kauai, the crew of Jess, Lucy and KeKoa made this a very memorable trip.

Yelp
Awesome experience and Captain Kelly/crew were great! Highly recommend if you are looking for a great experience seeing the Na'Pali coast!

Yelp
EVERYTHING! The crew was terrific and very helpful. Captain Mike was funny and very professional. Our ladies of the sea Kim and Lucy kept us well fed and watched over us as we snorkeled. A Momma and Papa whale and their baby swam within 50 yards of us as we set anchor at Napali. We loved every second!

Yelp
Celebrated my husband's birthday eve with a Napali sunset boat tour, and it was an amazing experience with Holo Holo Charters! The views were absolutely breathtaking, the dinner was great, and the entire crew did a fantastic job--warm, friendly, and entertaining while making sure safety was a priority. A truly unforgettable evening!

Yelp
We went on this tour in May 2025. We were able to see dolphins and seals on our way to Ni'hau. When we arrived there we snorkeled and saw some smaller fish and reefs, but nothing too exciting. The boat does get a bit fast, so definitely take Dramamine or whatever motion sickness med that works for you before doing this tour if you're not a "boat person". There were about 35 people and there was at least one that we saw that lost their breakfast. It's a decent sized boat, but it can get crowded in certain areas when it's time to take pictures of specific landmarks. Lunch was just OK and they serve local beers which weren't bad. We enjoyed this for the most part, but probably wouldn't do it again. The crew was amazing and they made things interesting while we were in transit, especially Captain Jess.

Yelp
Such a cool tour of the Na Pali Coast! To be honest, The captain was good (don't remember his name but cool guy), but hat's off to Matt, the crew mate who doubles as a server, photographer, crossing guard, etc. He was so friendly & sociable, giving good tips and insights throughout the ride. Quick to give refills on drinks & carry things for you. I had never seen anything about this coast before the ride, and it was awesome to see it all in real time right at sunset. Sunset was amazing from the boat. Bumpy ride on the way out but kind of fun! Be prepared to get wet.

Yelp
Super cool experience! My family did the 3 hour sunset cruise with captain Glenn. The staff was super attentive and were very involved in making sure everyone had a great experience. They serve snacks (crackers, cheese, meat, fruit) and a meal (chicken, rice, salad, fruit) along with drinks the entire time. The trip consists of a long trip out, a pause around the prettiest part of the Napali coast, & then the trip back as the sun sets near the end of the trip. Glenn was great and got us into a cave which he said isn't always possible. There was also a rainbow! I personally felt sick after the half way point, but that's not the charter's fault. I suggest motion sickness patches or pills for most people because you can't predict how choppy the sea will be. A few people got sick and the staff were helpful at getting them to the back of the boat to help with motion. I don't think I'd suggest this trip if you get motion sickness easily, as they weren't having a great time. I found that sitting at the back of the boat and looking at the land helped me best. The wind also helps. Overall an awesome experience with great views of the Napali Coast!

Yelp
Excellent trip! We had an amazing time. Crew (Captain Rob, with Luke and Leah) was excellent- fantastic service and great information. We got lucky with an extremely calm, flat day and saw some breaching whales and dolphins! Even a small green flash- Just a perfect Na Pali sunset sail. Highly recommend Holo Holo- the best!

Yelp
I loved the tour however there was some confusion and misunderstanding I believe by us and a lot of people on the boat about when to take pictures. We were told to just experience it and wait for pictures when we would come back to the coast later for better picture opportunities. We thought that was after the snorkel experience and that did not happen. You experience Na Pali coastline first then snorkel then lunch and zip right back and tour is over. I put away my camera and didn't get pictures of the Jurassic park valley because literally 5 minutes before that, they said to put away your cameras and just experience it, so I did and I missed the very picture I wanted. My son loves Jurassic park and I wanted to show him that exact spot but missed it because of what they said. It was an epic day for weather, clarity of the water and the ease of the waves but definitely need to be more clear what the timeline is and when to take pictures. And if people are taking pictures, just let them without criticizing them! Overall it was a great day but bummed about missing pictures.

Yelp
Amazing tour company!! We've been to the big 4 Hawaiian islands and out of all of them this was the BEST tour group we've been on! Started off by snorkeling for hour, then headed to the star of the show, the NEPALI COAST, it was STUNNING!! Captain Kellie took us to this waterfall and steered the boat right up to it so we could take pictures under it! Crew was so friendly and attentive! Constantly came and asked if we needed more drinks. They told us the history of the Nepali coast. I would 100% recommend this tour!

Yelp
First class experience & crew! Thank you Captain Nate, John, Ehren & Lucy! The crew was super friendly, the service was top notch and the experience was top of the line! Amazing history and storytelling. A 10 out of 10!

Yelp
This time it was kind of a mess. We have done this dinner cruise before and this time was not ideal. First they had an engine problem that delayed leaving. Then the water was so rough multiple people fell and everyone got soaked. It's not fun to get soaked on a dinner cruise, that's for a day snorkel trip. We won't return to this boat company next time we are here unfortunately

Yelp
Look no further for the epic experience of a lifetime with a fun, knowledgeable crew for a Napali Coast and snorkeling tour on a super powered catamaran that crosses the channel to Ni'ihau Island! Words can't express how fun this was!

Yelp
What an AMAZING experience!! We did the 7 hour boat trip starting at 6 AM which included breakfast, lunch with an open bar, snorkeling (gear provided), and the most beautiful views! The coast line is so insanely beautiful and the crew was sooooo nice and attentive. I am so happy we did this! The boat goes fast and it got a little choppy and everyone got soaked at least a few times. This isn't a trip I would take small children on or do if you get sea sick and can't puke and rally.
