Holy Land Deli

I ordered the breakfast burger before my flight. No peanut butter, so that was disappointing. And the woman working the counter was robotically polite and seemed to passively hate (in true Minnesotan style) every customer she interacted with. Skip this place and eat anywhere else.

The gyros wrap and grape leaves were a great choice! Ask for their hot sauce too. The gyros was so tender and not over-seasoned like the commercial "spindles-o-meat"; this was very good gyros. There is a good balance of lettuce, cucumber and tomato together with the tahini sauce in the wrap too. The grape leaves are good sized and come w an assortment of pickles (cauliflower, carrots and sweet peppers). Will be coming back next time I come through MN!

Had a nice lunch at Holy Land before flying out. They were very accommodating letting me swap falafel for the meat on the platter meal.

We love getting Holy Land when we visit Minneapolis, but unfortunately the airport location was extremely disappointing. We ordered two wrap combos and both were terrible. The meat was dried out and the wrap was so dry it fell apart immediately. We were the only customers there at the moment and it still took awhile to get food despite there being 4 workers. We would not recommend this location.

They use the old rice .it was so hard to bite and the chicken kebab as well .It’s so hard to bite .

Food is expensive but good. Got the chicken kebob. 17 bux. Didn't take too long. Tastes great. The guy at the counter could have had a better attitude, maybe smiled more. Got the sense that I was bothering him by placing an order.

Disgusting Chicken Shawarma Wrap. The wrap was cold. The only 3 ingredients were chicken cucumber pickle and a sauce. This is not what a shawarma is. The order taker was rude too and not helpful at all.

Eat their gyro shawarma if you wanna die of blood pressure. Too much salt in gyro couldn’t even eat.

Loved the chicken kebab wrap and fries hit the spot before a flight and definitely happy with halal food and the service. Cute cart too! Don't be confused bc there's another food cart menu is on the same board the halal stuff is on the right and recognizable items such falafel and shawarma.

Heading out of Minneapolis for spring break and due to a flight delay, we had a little longer than anticipated which let us to be on the search for dinner. Was excited to see that there was a holy land option just over in the next set of gates. Walked over and saw a cute set up where the window looked like a food truck. Quick look at the menu was that they had the basics. Gyro Sandwich, Gyro plate, Shawarma plate, beef plate, and combo plate. I ordered the combo plate but was told they were out of beef so went with just the chicken. We also got a Gyro plate. Serving sizes were extremely large and two plates enough for our family of four. There is a ton of rice so it's easy to fill up on that. The food was fresh, although it wasn't as good as directly from the restaurant. I would say one downside was that the person working the counter was definitely lacking in customer service. Not necessarily rude, but just seemed annoyed at the fact that they had customers. Overall, I'm glad that the Minneapolis airport has a wide variety of offerings beyond the chains and I can see myself headed to Holy Land again if I'm in need of a meal before a flight.

This was my first trip to Holy Land's restaurant, although I've previously shopped in the store. It's a bit confusing how to order, but there are menus and you order at the counter (and pay). You are then issued a number and they bring the food to your table. The ambiance of Holy Land is "basic" to be polite. However, in my travels to the Middle East, this is actually how all of the restaurants looked. So although very plain, it is authentic. More importantly, the food was excellent. My wife had the appetizer plate as an entrée. Although all of the included food was good, and more than enough quantity, she thought the overall food was a bit bland and wished she had ordered a regular entree. However, she said it would be great for a group. It does include Holy Land's famous hummus which is the best I've tasted in the Twin Cities (except, perhaps, Emily's Lebanese Deli, whose hummus is very, very garlicy which I like). You can also pick up a container of hummus in the grocery store. My chicken kababs came with a side Greek Salad that was surprisingly fresh, crispy, and tasty. Also included was several pieces of pita bread (fresh takes it to a higher level) and a sauce of my choosing (cucumber, which was a great dip for the chicken and for the hummus). The chicken kabobs were excellent and included onion and peppers. The chicken was not overcooked (easy to do) and very well seasoned. Along with the chicken was a huge serving of yellow rice. This also was flavored to perfection and not just white rice with turmeric. This rice was also very authentic (in flavor and quantity) to what I have had in the Middle East. Holy Land has a lunch menu with very reasonable prices. I recommend checking them out. Then go next door and wonder through the amazing grocery store full of specialty Middle Eastern products. I was able to buy fresh lamb, which is almost impossible in the Twin Cities. The prices were very reasonable and if you like lamb, a trip to Holy Land is well worth the travel. I also bought a box of excellent Baklava for about five dollars, which is not that much more than you would pay for one piece in a regular restaurant.

Decided to give this place a try before my flight back home. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma plate. Which consisted of rice and very small amount of chicken and a pickle ( the pickle was a first). The food wasn't bad it was just bland. I mean nothing had any flavor whatsoever. The only thing that had flavor was the garlic sauce. After ordering my food I noticed that this place was actually featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. Which really doesn't say much because I've eaten at a few of the places that have been featured on this program and none of them were as good as the host made it seem. The people working were okay not very friendly but nor were they unfriendly or mean. To me it seems like they are there to do their job and that's it.

Yum yum! I got the falafel wrap and make it a meal for an extra $5. So I got a side of fries and a drink too. Super pleased with the wrap it was really tasty and full of flavor. While the falafel is fried, it didn't feel greasy. I got the wrap with some hot sauce for an extra kick. The cucumbers were crispy which added to the texture of the wrap. The fries were the true star. I love when the fries are slightly breaded and extra crispy. Got some hummus too and excited to try it on my flight. **the only downside is the fountain drink dispenser is also used by the restaurant next to it and it's super awkward because the servers are pouring drinks and you're just awkwardly waiting to get your drink.

Stopped here again during a morning layover just to eat a falafel wrap at 9am. This place is a gem.

Cool little food truck exterior. Quick and easy service. Prices are lower than what you'd expect at an airport so two thumbs up here from me. Ordered the vegetable samosas for $10 and was served freshly made in 10 minutes of wait time. The 8 mini samosas had peas and potatoes as expected. Not overly greasy. Enough to tie me over for a few hours. The to-go container included pickled cauliflower and other vegetables below.

Very good restaurant it was the best restaurant I have ever been halal and has a small halal mini market the food is so good meditarian food I really appreciate it if you go here you'l enjoy your food before your flight Thank you

Place is horrible! Two slices of thin gyro meat if that's what you call it! The gyro sandwich was just full of lettuce and I asked for garlic.

I always get excited to see Mediterranean cuisine during my travel as it's one of my favorite cuisine. With excitement, I ordered Arabic Beef Shawarma, assuming it would be keeping up to it's name and be authentic. It was a complete disappointment. Soggy bread with not so good quality beef with appeared to be made from store bought Shawarma mix, which tends to be bitter. I think it gives a bad name to Arabic Shawarma. #onetimerrestaurant #Airwolf

AMAZING FOOD! Seriously!!! Get the Greek salad with triple the meat! It's worth it!!! That said... I leave frustrated each time I visit. The problem is the customer service. Communication is rough (clear language barriers), and it took countless people (5) to find out how to ALLOW ME to get extra meat on my salad. The guy in front of me had his food taken by the guy in front of him because of their EXTREMELY POOR IDEA of gently sliding a TABLE NUMBER SIGN to identify orders, often leaving multiple table signs unused while the cashier calls out the order number. Absolute disarray. Let me note, each cashier I've dealt with has been kind, very well intentioned, and seem to mean well, but the method of getting your food into your hand needs a revamp. Poor management strategy.

70% pita, 8% meat 20% lettuce, 2% sauce. Very sad. 13$ for this..... i think i learned me lesson. I asked for sauce because it was so dry, sour wanted to charge me extra. Meat was like leather . Really disappointed.

Falafel wrap was tasty but not that well made as the ingredients wound up more in the center of the wrap rather than spread evenly. A little pricey too. Note that food will likely take 15+ minutes to prepare even if no one else is ordering. Also, the food preparer wears his mask around his neck rather than over his nose and mouth. If I had realized this before I ordered I wouldn't have ordered!

I was very disappointed with the service in both my experiences at the Holy Land Deli in Concourse E. Though I love the food Holy Land Deli offers, even at this location, the service, unfortunately, worsened both my experiences tremendously. My first poor experience involved asking the employee taking my order a question about the food. I was taken aback by a slightly rude and condescending answer. In addition, my next poor experience involved waiting to order while the employees clearly sat behind the counter talking to themselves. When one of them finally did turn to look at me, she turned around and continued to talk for another 30 or so seconds before coming back to take my order. It is my hope that the service improves here, as the food is very decent.

Overall I would say Holy Land Deli was Ok. Not great not bad but it was Solid for an airport. I got the Chicken Shawarma with garlic sauce. Wrap fine . Everything about it was just ok, I don't really have anything more to say then that.

It's called Holy land Express. Great food with resonable price. Comes with fries and drink. Terminal 1 Gate E. Next to RedCow. Fully Halal...Loved the Swarma. Hours are 7am to 9pm.

Wow! Great food for being an airport quick spot. I loved the food truck look. The price was right in and well worth it. I got the gyro plate with hummus. It came with pita, cucumber sauce, tomato, lettuce, gyro meat, olives, olive oil, chickpeas, cucumber and red onion. This was $13! A total deal. Very good spot for the airport. Give it a try!

This was the absolute worst, worst, worst food I have ever tried to eat. I ended up throwing it away. Please save yourself and your money and do NOT buy anything from this restaurant. I got the greek salad with chicken which was grisely and fried and inedible. Also, it took forever to receive my overpriced, inedible salad. Hope this review helps others.

Food is good and reasonably priced. I ordered Spinach Pie which came perfect, Chicken Kebob where I said I wanted cucumber sauce and it didn't come with cucumber sauce and I ordered Falafel and it didn't come with Tahini. I had to go back for the Tahini and when I came back I noticed the Cucumber Sauce was missing as well. I didn't go back for the cucumber sauce. Everything is good except the forgotten sauces was really annoying. Solid 4 stars.

Walked up to counter. Girl looked at me and said "What?" I told her to have a nice day, turned and left.

Stopped here on my way to board my plane and got the wrong item. The manager came out and personally apologized. Refunded the difference in cash out of his own pocket as he knew I was in a hurry and got me fresh food immediately and it was hot, fresh, authentic, and delicious. Thank you.

Greek salad is tiny and sparse. "Greek Sauce" is ranch instead of tzatziki. Falafels are fried to hard crisps. Pita is stale and chewy. They're lucky they're in an airport and get accidental business. Two stars go to the hot sauce, for trying hard to make this salad decent.

Had Greek Salad with Chicken. For an airport fast food version it is well worth it. Unlike the other review, I do not feel it is too small. I way stuffed. It has pitted olives, chickpeas, red onions, tomatoes, banana peppers, and of course crunchy romaine lettuce. They don't mix all the ingredients just in case you don't want one of the ingredients which is nice as I don't care too much for banana peppers myself. There was either no dressing or if there was it was already lightly drizzled. It was not ranch as per previous review either. Just some light olive oil is my guess. They do give a small bowl of mozzarella cheese on the side in case you want to sprinkle some on top. And three pieces of pita bread as well in case you need some carbs :) Overall it is well worth it for the price. I would order it again!

Bizarre. Ordered Greek Salad with grilled chicken. Salad was not as described. Key ingredients left out. Chicken had a mustard/curry drizzle! Dressing was creamy Italian! This is my first negative review - ever. Hope the owner reads and makes a change.

I end up buying food from this place despite the quality being just a notch better than the dumpster outside the terminal. But having a habit of catching flights at last minute, my choices are limited. As long as I lower all expectations, come to accept mediocrity, and a cashier who hates her job and customers, Holy Land beef or chicken shawarma were my punishment for coming hungry to catch a flight every time.

Understood that they have not much good options since it is a small outlet ..There is absolutely nothing special about the food .I had a chicken kabob wrap .2 pieces of chicken with some vegetables poorly assembled in a pita bread .taste is ordinary .It was not pricey though.

Love the food truck vibe. And at $15 for a gyro plate it might sound high (even for airport food), but there was enough to feed two people. Tasty, fresh and plenty of seating nearby.

I was very confused. I got the beef and chicken shawarma platter, and both the beef and chicken had what appeared to be curry powder on them. The meat was cooked well and the rice was fine, but since when does curry powder go on shawarma? It made everything taste the same, and was really bizarre.

Not an authentic middle eastern restaurant. We ordered Kabob, it was not as good as we expected from what we saw on the reviews. The table was sticky. I like only to shop groceries there.

I have been there several times. Every time the staff cannot understand what I'm saying or is somewhat rude. I'm happy that they are employing refugees or immigrants but I think more training is needed. The food is also fairly bland. The pita bread is fairly chewy. Overall, consistent with most Minneapolis airport food-either too high priced or Bland. Nothing in between.
