"Home Baking Co., Bloordale by Zachary Radford. From one of the people who brought you Bakerbots, Home is a charming little spot with a selection of baked goods and hot beverages. The decor is simple and home-y; the treats are delicious and home-y. Try the ice cream sandwich—made in front of you with a freshly baked cookie and your favourite ice cream—or the sea salt brownie."

We stopped in for iced coffees and some sweets. They have a great selection of sweets that they make in house; tarts, cakes, cookies and ice cream. Our iced americanos were great and we really enjoyed their pecan butter tarts. Couple things to note: No washrooms available. If they do, they were not clearly marked or clear to customers. They did have hand sanitizer available. They do have limited seating indoor and a couple spots outdoor. It’s a very small shop and the products are quite good. However it is not a spot that’s easy to sit and enjoy your order. I would recommend for take out.

Visited EVERY OTHER DAY during my stay in Roncy! In terms of variety and sophistication, best bake shop in the neighbourhood and possibly the best I’ve had in Toronto. My favourites are their cream puff series and the seasonal fruity chiffon cakes 🍰 both options would be best suited for those who aren’t into overly sweet treats. The mango and coconut chiffon cake is still my favourite of all the items I’ve tried. It’s light, refreshing, and flavourful - the best kind of cake for summer and doesn’t leave you feeling heavy. All their cream puff flavours are delicious, tried their vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, lemon and caramel. I must say that the caramel definitely left an impression as it tasted more burnt and Smokey, which is quite different from what I was expecting, in a good way so the sweetness wasn’t over powering at all. Highly recommend!

Google
Tried their pastries and desserts for the first time. They had a huge selection of different pastries, cakes, cookies, etc on display. I got a few items and I thought it was just okay, it could be because the items I chose had really similar flavours. I also got the banana pudding that everyone’s been talking about and I thought it was pretty good. Staff were super kind and friendly as well.

Google
Follow @bredgyeats for more food photos! The banana pudding and carrot cake are very much worth the hype, and you know how much I love banana-flavoured desserts. The pudding is light and packed with an addicting banana pudding cream that is magnified by the chunks of ripe banana, and some wafers inside for texture. Each bite of the carrot cake comprises indulgent, moist bites of sponge cake, with a perfect amount of sweetness and seasoned with cinnamon and toasted pecans. It's layered with the cream cheese frosting for a sweet, creamy and tangy addition.

Google
Wow!!! This bakery is an amazing find in a city of tourist trap bakeries! Every item in there is so unique that i was stressing out when it came my turn to pick what i wanted. I ended up choosing a staple, a chocolate and lemon combo, in my the chocolate ganache cake and lemon curd crème puff. The chocolate cake was so decadent yet the chocolate wasn’t all that sweet so the combination made the cake just perfect! I wanted to try something new, and i saw the crème puffs just looked so pretty that i needed to get one. The puff pastry was perfectly well made, the creme as well was splendid, but i feel as if the combination of the very sweet creme and very sweet lemon curd, was just too much that you couldn’t take very many bites. It was also soggier than i would have liked it, but that was also because i tried it at the end of the day, so it was probably my fault for that reason. I really wanted to get their banana pudding but i didn’t see it until after i ordered and i didn’t want to over do it. Only other downside i would say is that it is a very small inside and only so many people can fit, and when you are ordering, it feels overwhelming and overcrowded. But I would definitely come back here again and recommend to anyone visiting toronto!

Google
DELICIOUS! The cinnamon buns are the best I’ve ever had!!! We also loved the chocolate cake and strawberry tart! The croissant and bread pudding was good too. Will be back to try the other items!!! The prices were affordable too!

Google
A trendy minimalist style bakery shop. Bought few times by Uber delivery service but my first-time drop-by here while waiting for a table in Mexican restaurant nearby. My favourite was their banana pudding and cookies. ( I think Canada is going through inflation, now their banana pudding cup is getting smaller size than we bought 1 month ago.☹️) Somehow, it looks simplicity and neat. I like their cake, looks moist and fresh. Can’t resist, ended up again with strawberry chiffon cream cake ( last pc….$6.30/ pc isn’t expensive compare with downtown cafes, right? ) Sorry, can’t comment the cake taste yet. Haven’t taste while write down this review. Btw, it’s a nice comfortable cafe around this area, surrounding with many local housing nearby.

Google
I genuinely love this place and felt it definitely lived up to the hype. I tried their brownie which was super fudgey and chocolatey. Very decadent and delicious. Shoutout to my fellow fudgey brownie lovers! I also took one of the cinnamon buns to go and asides from being extremely aesthetic, it really held up to its looks. It was perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, and a perfect icing to bun ratio. The cinnamon flavour was also very prominent, which I appreciated. Ok, now the atmosphere of this place was super cute, I can imagine on the weekend, it would be a bit busy, but I went on a Thursday afternoon so I was able to sit in and truly enjoy my brownie. Definitely will be coming back here for sure!

Yelp
This was such a cute bakery/cafe. I wanted to try everything, but we got the sweet and savory scone with bread pudding, apple cider, banana pudding, and a coffee. We enjoyed each thing soo much, and it wasn't overly sweet. I would love to sit in this pretty cafe for hoursss.

Yelp
Very minimalist aesthetic bakery but have a large variety of desserts. It's a bit difficult to spot at first as there isn't a proper sign and rather just written on the window. Banana pudding: I tried out the banana pudding and was so delicious. They sell a full pint or a half pint but totally worth getting the full pint. It was really flavourful but not too overwhelming. Highly recommend the pudding! A bit of a small space but there were 2 small tables by the window that can be combined for bigger groups and a few tables for duos. I would totally come back for the pudding and to try out other desserts.

Janice R.

Yelp
Yummy bakery located on Bloor Street. We ordered the butter tart and the banana pudding and they were both very delicious. Would love to try their pies and cakes as it looks divine. There's not much seating inside FYI!

Charmaine T.

Yelp
* Signature cinnamon roll * Butter tart * Lemon meringue tart This shop is really popular for their cinnamon roll, carrot cake and banana pudding! However, since butter tart is such an essential sweet treat in Toronto, I had to get it. I can totally see why the cinnamon rolls are popular. They are the softest and fluffiest ones I've ever had. Despite being drenched in the icing, it's not too sweet at all! The butter tart also has a perfect ratio of gooey filling and a nice crusty shell. If I had more stomach space, I would 100% have gotten the 1/4lb brownie too.

Oshynne L.

Yelp
I ordered an affogato and a cookie from Bakerbots, and both were phenomenal. I enjoyed the dahlias they had on the tables; they were cute little centrepieces that added to the vibe of the place. The service is friendly and there are many people who come in just to purchase to go. If you choose to sit inside, it's likely that you can enjoy a seat there for a while without it getting too busy. I would stop by again if I was in the area!

Emily B.

Yelp
Nothing like a milestone birthday adventure. 6 of us came by to sit after visiting a 'nearby' playground. This place is smaller that I was expecting but packed with sugary goodness. There are 3 tables and it can feel crowded. We had 2 strollers that we had to push into a corner to keep the space clear. I had one of the epic ice cream sandwiches. They offer some of the Bang Bang classics. There's a reason it is often voted the best of the city. I took home one of their cookies, which was both salty and sweet and perfectly baked. I also bought a lemon tart which was just the right amount of tartness with a buttery crust. What was a pleasant surprise was the price! It's not as expensive as you expect. Definitely delicious.

Yelp
Unlikely to order ever again. They have a wicked banana pudding, which is revered by many including my bestie. Placed an order for her bridal shower, because we had to have the bride's favourites! Called and put a $20 (deposit on a bowl) + $65 for the banana pudding itself. I mentioned I had a glass trifle bowl I wanted it in because it was for a shower and I'd drop it off, because of the layers you can't transfer. Logistically they said better to use their bowl. They assured me it was a glass bowl and it didn't look bad. Day before the event, it wasn't a bowl - it was a plastic Tupperware. I had no other option but to take it and I already paid for it. Associates said they couldn't do anything, emailed them and no response, and they don't answer their phone. You can grab delicious cupcakes, cakes, and baked goods at many places but it's how a place values your business and this place doesn't. It wasn't my first time coming back for their banana pudding. It really is the best, but this incident left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Yelp
I've been craving a proper cinnamon bun for a month now. I didn't want to go to any of the chains nor want a vegan cinnamon bun; the cream cheese is not the same and I'm a fan of cream cheese. My friend surprised me with this delicious cinnamon bun today and it was the perfect amount of ingredients. I thought I could save half of it for tomorrow but it didn't last the evening. If you want a delicious cinnamon bun look no further than this place. You won't be disappointed.

Monika K.

Yelp
Best pumpkin pie Pre order - call ahead They can save a slice or a whole pie Line ups can be long Crappy parking They have many other treats

Jane G.

Yelp
Unbelievably good food! Beautiful display case! Best cheesecake I've ever had. Delicious flat white. Can't wait to go back!

Lily Z.

Yelp
Came across this cute bakery when I was in the area and was not dissappointed!! They had a ton of pastries/desserts and they all looked amazing. The oatmeal cookie was so soft and chewy and had a great cinnamon flavor. The Icecream was so creamy and they had a ton of unique flavors - my personal favorite was the lychee rose raspberry icecream!! It was tart from the raspberry but balanced by the sweetness from the lychee and the rose added a very subtle floral flavour

Michelle D.

Yelp
Update after two years with a slightly different order: I got two 1/2 ice cream sandwiches and the one I had was the oatmeal cookie with totaro ice cream. The ice cream is just as delicious. The menu states that it's ToTaro with a side comment that says that it's ube. So if you're looking for taro, this is not it. I wish they sold two 1/2 ice cream sandwiches for the price of one whole ice cream sandwich. The staff have adapted to the pandemic using limited contact with staff. You order, pay, and get your order from the table beside the slightly opened door. I did notice that the worker was touching the cookies and the touch screen with the same gloved hands. If the touch screen is sanitized, then all good. Otherwise that's one point to improve on. I will soon return to try their other baked goods- I hear their carrot cakes and cinnamon buns are delicious based on other reviews. In summary really quick service and even better ice cream!

Jasmine L.

Yelp
It's by the same owners of Bang Bang ice cream. So the ice cream is the same (but less variety than their Ossington shop) along with their cream puffs & cookies. But what's amazing about Bakerbots is their daily tarts, cakes, cinnabons and the BANANA PUDDIN'. Come here early in the day so your favourites don't sell out. My first time here was late at night so most things were sold out, although the staff can still be seen baking fresh items, even at 9pm! They also have some day-old goods that they sell for discounted. I tried their Banana-chocolate layered cake with a scoop of their Banana Puddin' ice cream on the side. The cake wasn't unbearably sweet, but it was very dense & moist. The ice cream was delicious as usual & I loved the chunks in there. My second experience here was even more outstanding as I came as soon as they opened on the weekend! The window display & freshly baked pastry spread was colourful & soooo enticing. I chose their popular Banana Puddin' in a cup (5/5, soooo creamy & the sliced bananas in there was incredible), Rosewater Raspberry Cream puff (5/5, super filled & true to its flavours), and Lemon Tart (3.5/5). Bakerbots has quickly become my favourite go-to bakery for decadent treats! Absolutely love their variety & everything I've tried has been consistency great.

Yelp
one word, WOW. We ordered banana pudding and carrot cake! The carrot cake was well made - nice and fresh. But the banana puddling was next level. I am not a huge fan of banana pudding but after trying this one, I was hooked! This place is literally amazing and the employees were very friendly. I would def recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
Still an amazing 5 star bakery hole in the wall. They are cashless now (I believe since Covid began). The lovely cat that used to roam around their famous benches outside has passed. A lot has changed, and yet they haven't. Their ice cream sandwiches remain a favourite but their carrot cake and other baked good have somehow gotten better? This update is truly just to say that they have (somehow) upped their game. The customer service has always been top tier, and I am so glad to have this place as a local guilty pleasure.

Jeremy L.

Yelp
Decent bakery with fair prices. The kyoto matcha latte was a bit of a letdown - there was barely any matcha flavor and it was mostly milk without much sweetness. The rococoa cookie was a bit better, with good texture and proper chocolate, albeit a bit sweet. The other parts of their menu look more enticing though.

Gabriel S.

Yelp
Got an ice cream sandwich with an Everything cookie & Lychee rose & milk & cookies ice cream. It was excellent. The cookie was crisp & had rich & tasty ingredients. The ice cream was great: rich & fragrant. The lychee had a tart edge & was refreshing.

Tammy N.

Yelp
Baker Bots have the same flavours as Bang Bang but without the line. This london fog ice cream amazing!!! Highly recommend. I actually wanted a cream puff but they ran out, but hopefully I'll be able to try it next time.

Shay W.

Yelp
They didn't have much of a selection. The prices aren't posted so it's a bit confusing. I only went there for the banana pudding because an influencer had posted about their's being the best. Unfortunately they didn't have it and when I opted for the banana pudding ice cream and mango pudding ice cream instead, by the time I paid for it, the server told me they were out. So I wound up with two banana pudding ice creams, a hot chocolate and butter tart. The line up was deceiving because the items weren't that outstanding. Nice people but just not somewhere I'll be visiting again

Jacqui L.

Yelp
Delicious and so glad we got to try! Half ice cream sandwich with everything cookie + lychee raspberry ice cream (wow, cookie was a good soft/chewy ratio). Half ice cream sandwich with ginger molasses cookies + burnt toffee ice cream (the cookie was hard which was unfortunate but overall still tasted good). Vanilla cream with strawberries - delicious and not too sweet. Lemon meringue tart - by far my favourite. Sweet and tangy... The fluff was perfect ! Altogether was $25. Not bad for delicious baked goods. Definitely a must go and repeat !

Nicole A.

Yelp
Tried out the Key Lime pie which was actually very tasty. It had a perfect mixture of tart and sweet and it sat nicely. The graham cracker crust was very flavorful. Also had a couple of the cookies for the kids- it was chocolate chip/pretzel/oat cookie. One kid enjoyed while the other didn't love. But it was tasty. Not much to walk through in there, it's tiny and closed off. Had a day old pastry I think a bread pudding thing which was good too I'd go back and try a fruit tart with fresh whipped cream next time for sure I think it would be good to have a plain chocolate chip cookie or croissant available for the pickier ones ha. Nice place though

Linda N.

Yelp
I love the freshness of the ice cream. The flavours were so pure. It tasted exactly how the flavours of the item should be. My favourite ice cream is mint chip and always has been. The mint flavour is strong but very refreshing. I loved it.

Zach M.

Yelp
Wow! How am I only discovering this place! I was passing by Bloor street and saw a lineup here which caught my attention. Peaking into the store, I saw fantastic looking baked goods: cakes, tarts, cinnamon buns, cupcakes, banana pudding, many different cookies and a cheesecake all looked so inviting. Given that it was a colder day, I stayed away from the ice cream options (like Banh Bang that could be served between cookies or even the cinnamon buns) and opted for one cinnamon bun and one red velvet cupcake. Oh my, this was, without question, the best cinnamon bun I've ever had. The frosting was generous and delicious and the bun was very fresh. I easily could have had a second. The red velvet cupcake was also delicious: moist, not too sweet and I could taste the cream cheese in the icing. My only constructive comment was that service was a little slow given the lineup. There is only one cash open and though there were only 6 people in front of me, I was in line for about 15 minutes (the lineup is outside). Prices were very reasonable and the woman serving me was very friendly.

Lyla M.

Yelp
We love it! You can get the ice cream sandwich on a cinnamon bun, which makes it huge. The bun itself is worth a buy; we always get an extra one for the next day. Lemon tart is actually really citrusy and flavourful. The top of the toffee apple cake was amazing; would be even better if it could be mixed more into the cake. Strawberry custard tart is smooth and creamy. It's also pretty enough to look impressive if you're hosting.

Connie H.

Yelp
This is the sister shop to Bang Bang ice cream and I love both! Bakerbots is more of a bakery so they don't have as many ice cream flavours as Bang Bang but have more baked goods like cookies, tarts, and cakes. During COVID they placed the table of baked goods close to the window so customers can shop from outside and place orders at the door. It's a really small store so this works really well. I enjoyed everything I have tried but my favourite is still their cookie sandwiches.

Elvis A.

Yelp
This is an outpost for bang bang ice cream (one of the top ice cream spots in Toronto IMO) the selection here is limited as the place is quite spartan. However if you want to avoid excessively long waits at the flagship store then this outpost will do just fine. There are located right next to a TTC station as well which is great if you want to just make a quick stop and be on your way. I didn't pay much attention to their baked goods as they didn't look enticing.

Kat J.

Yelp
I still feel like this seems to be a secret for people who like bang bang ice cream. I think it's the same owners and they have many of the same ice cream is here as well as the cookies. They have all of the wonderful ice cream sandwich options and they have less lines. My friend got the bird toffee ice cream and it was delicious with large chunks of the toffee in it and I got an ice cream sandwich with the old fashion oatmeal cookie that has dates in it and the London fog ice cream. I love the London fog ice cream because it's not too sweet so it goes really well with the cookies

Farheen S.

Yelp
Stopped into Bakerbots after dinner to pick up a few treats. They had window side pick up, so it was a bit hard to see all their offerings. They weren't labeled so I felt like a bit of a pest asking the employee so many questions to identify them all. Picked up the lemon tart, the banana pudding & a cupcake. All the desserts were delicious and absolutely beautiful! I'd definitely return.

Robert P.

Yelp
Amazing! Everything is made with love and you can taste it. One of my favorite spots for baked goods in Toronto. Cinnamon bun with sweet cream ice cream is unreal!

Kelisha C.

Yelp
Went here for the first time because I was craving carrot cake. I didn't want a whole cake just a slice and they had it. I waited in line for 20 minutes. The location is great. It's right beside Ossington station on Delaware Ave side. The display is beautiful with all the baked goods in the window. The carrot cake was moist and delicious plus it was raisin free !!!! I also got a London fog. I felt the London fog was over priced ,but it was delicious. I definitely will be coming back here to try other baked goods. The carrot cake is a must!!!

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Conveniently located right next to Ossington station (exit to Delaware Ave. from the subway platform) makes it my go-to spot for when I have a sweet tooth. I usually get their single cookie ice cream sandwiches ($4.50-$5.50 + tax). Cookies are usually hard-chewy in texture which works fine with me. Their Blackout cupcake ($2.75 + tax) is a splurge for when you really need your chocolate fix, it is moist and the sweetness is subtle. The cake embodies the true taste of chocolate (that you would want in a cake) with no sign of additional sweetener. The chocolate ganache adds a smooth texture and is the cherry on top. The workers are nice and knowledgeable of their menu.

John D.

Yelp
Great cookies. Good ice cream. Forget Subway, ice cream sandwiches are the best kind of sandwiches, but like the deli equivalent, all parts have to be spot on to win my hungry heart. I've been to Bakerbots several times for ice cream sandwiches, and the cookies were always the best parts. They have that nice balance between crispy and chewy with a slight edge toward buttery crispiness. Try the birthday cake or Captain peanut versions. The ice cream tends to be just ok for me...something about the texture not being right, although the PB Jelly is better than the rest. Given they're typically eaten outside on nice days, the ice cream sandwiches melt fast, so you can't actually eat them like a sandwich, well, not without dripping globs all over yourself. This is a very tiny shop (one table with some outside seating), so expect there to be a line on hot weekends. Conveniently located steps from Ossington subway station. Rating: 4 Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder duets out of 5

Heidi J.

Yelp
The flavours here are so delicious! There was around a 5-10 minute wait when I went (Wednesday 6pm) the icecream in puff is so worth it in my opinion since the single scoop was close to $5 too and with the puff you get to choose two flavours!

S. S.

Yelp
Am I obsessed with Bakerbots? Yes. Have I tried the ice cream? No. Will I? Yes. Baked goods here are great. It's a small operation though and there is often a line outside.

Teena D.

Yelp
I was out walking this afternoon and was craving something sweet so stopped in at Bakerbots Baking (it's right next to the Ossington subway entrance). I've never noticed it before. There was lots to choose from and everything looked delicious. In addition to baked goods, they also have ice cream. I finally decided on a blueberry tart. It was really good and I restrained myself from getting another one. The tart was slightly hard and the custard (or whatever was in the tart) was really good. The blueberries were plump. It's a cute spot. I'd stop in again if I'm in the area and wanting something sweet.

Kimberly J.

Yelp
Sooo good! This place reminds me a lot of Bang Bang Ice Cream & Bakery. Maybe they are the same owners? The store is cute and offers ice cream and baked goods. There is a small bench inside and outside their store. This is more of a grab and go kind of place. Their flavors are written on a board and their baked goods are all neatly displayed. Employees are quick and friendly. You can get your ice cream in a cup, in between their homemade cookies, or in a puff. They don't offer as many flavor options as Bang Bang Ice Cream & Bakery. I don't mind, since we didn't have to wait in a long line either. There was no line at all at the time we visited. We tried their London Fog, Burnt Toffee, and Pb Grape Ice Cream. All three were on point. The London Fog had a lovely natural Earl Grey Tea flavor. The Burnt Toffee had generous pieces of homemade toffee throughout the ice cream. Their Pb Grape will make any peanut butter and jelly lover happy. I love that their ice creams are smooth, creamy, not overly sweet, flavorful, and do not have any ice crystals in it. Bang Bang Ice Cream & Bakery and Bakerbots Baking remind me of my favorite ice cream shop in LA, Scoops. I will definitely be back!

Elaine O.

Yelp
I would give this place an overall 3.5. Was in the area and passed by this cute ice cream shop which I've heard about before and decided to give a try! Looking at the menu, I definitely wanted to try their ice cream sandwiches, as the flavours sounded pretty good. The place is pretty small but luckily came before the line started to get long. The place was overall very aesthetically pleasing, and staff and service was good. With the ice cream sandwiches, a half sandwich is already enough to fill you up! You can choose your choice of two ice cream flavours and cookie as well. I got the flavours London fog and cinnamon toast. Both flavours were sweet, cinnamon toast being sweeter which I liked since I have a sweet tooth. Got the birthday cookie which I thought was okay, didn't really taste like birthday cake and the cookie was not chewy which I think it would've made it a lot tastier if it was! If I were to come back, it would be to try their other ice cream flavours!

Cindy D.

Yelp
Literally beside Ossington Station, you can smell the bakery even if you're outside. My friends and I came here since we were in the area and was looking for something sweet. I opted for ice cream, you can test certain flavors (like at any other ice cream place). I got the pink lemonade and green tea and I really enjoyed both flavors as they were strong enough I could taste the two which I like. My friends who ordered different flavors also agreed with me that the flavors I chose was really good. Service was great, I wanted green tea ice cream but I assumed that they didn't have any there so she had to run to the back to get some. Overall, this makes a great stop if you're near this location and want dessert. Next time, I might come back and try it with their birthday cookie because I love those!!

Lo C.

Yelp
I am so impressed with Bakerbots! I came here after my birthday dinner on Wednesday to have a "light" dessert. The place is pretty small, even smaller than Bang Bang's but stepping into the store felt super coziness and welcoming. An EXTENSIVE menu of icecream and drinks that would please any one. I got the Half Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich - Oatmeal Cookie: DELICIOUS. So great to chew on and not overly sweet. This will definitely be my go to. - London Fog Ice cream: This was really refreshing, tasted 100% like the tea (but didn't really go with the cookie) - Milk & Cookeis Ice cream: omg, reminiscent of when I used to crush chocolate cookies into my milk. The ice cream was 'creamy' (haha) and smooth. 100% better than any store bought boox. For ~$5 this is a really good treat that won't break your bank.

Bianca A.

Yelp
I never even knew how sensitive my teeth were until I bit into one of their monster serving of an ice cream sandwich! It had me switching toothpastes and all in favour to a heck of a better chewing experience when I return because what better way to ruin an experience than agonizing nerves interrupting a perfectly good date with your sweet tooth. We had the chance to visit this place more than once and although I'm always tempted to just order a cone from anywhere else in Toronto where the line up is not as crazy during the summer, we always find ourselves back again for the wait to an awesome dessert. If you love cookies, come on down! If you love ice cream, come on down! Heck, if you like diabetes this is the place to go to be. The ice cream acts as a numbing factor for your tastebuds while you go nuts on the cookies, psyching yourself to believing you're actually having a salad instead of a scrumptious dessert. So good, too good and the staff are incredibly nice and they don't need to treat you good to become a fan of this place, it's that good!!!! One bite and you close your eyes exiting the world into a lalaland of reasons why your morning workout was so worth it. All the more room for Bakorbots!

Rebeka P.

Yelp
My favourite bakery in all of Toronto, super good ice cream sandwiches and milkshakes, always my go to place for ice cream.

Deb F.

Yelp
Excellent icecream and so local! They also make very good cakes. I Recommend It. (Have heard comments about bad service from the owner but that was not my experience.)

Carly M.

Yelp
When I'm craving me some ice cream, Bakerbots is a go to. I shared a whole cookie ice cream sandwich with my fiancé and we couldn't finish it. We had the everything cookie with chocolate peanut butter ice cream. It was one of the best chocolate peanut butter ice creams I've ever had. There is always a lineup out the door, so be prepared to wait 10-20 minutes for your dessert! It's a tiny store and not really meant for sit down. But it's a great stop on a walking date! They have other baked goods there if you don't want ice cream. I don't love their cookies on their own but they're great for a sandwich. If you have dietary restrictions they can accommodate (GF options available). Staff are very friendly and it's always pleasant to stop at Bakerbots. 4 stars because I have a hard time spending over $8 on an ice cream sandwich!

Yelp
Delicious ice cream, ice cream sammies, baked treats...what more can I say? Bakerbots Baking is the place to go if you are craving something sweet. I always have a hard time choosing what to order because everything looks so good! From their butter tarts to cup cakes, tarts, and pies - who can resist Bakerbots. Definitely go during quieter times if you dont want to wait for those ice cream sammies (but who are we kidding they are totally worth the wait)!

Yelp
This place is disgusting I came with my friend I got the London fog ice cream sandwich with cookies and their cakes were sold out they got some little cakes we got that. The cake was so sweet I thought I was in a diabetic coma and it's so overpriced. One of the worst dessert places they are a fraud of cakes and should be closed down

Yelp
Fewer flavours than Bang Bang but equally as good! The burnt toffee had a nice crunch that added a nice texture to the ice cream. The london fog was nice and aromatic! The everything cookie is a must get every time- a good mix of everything! We also got a london fog latte - found it a bit diluted in flavour even though it had a tea bag in it, probably not steeped long enough with the milk? They use vanilla extract and not syrup which made it less sweet- in that way, it paired really well with the ice cream.

Yelp
3.5 stars ... avoid the tarts and stick to the ice cream sandwiches.. Just need to pick wisely before adding them into the cookies to prevent a sugar coma, The sister store to the crazily popular Bang Bang Ice Cream, Bakerbots was pretty popular as well when we were visiting the Bloorcourt store. They don't serve as much flavours of Bang Bang but they definitely shared many of the popular ones including the favourite ice cream cookies. Sometimes you arrive in a good time and only a few minutes wait.. worse case is 7 minutes or so. Not that you can time how the subway runs but it's obvious when a subway made its stop next door! The pile of people is like a huge herd coming in. This looks much bigger than the Bang Bang store till you realize that most of the store is actually for the staff only and their baking/ice cream area. There really isnt any seating in the store at all. Just a single table with one or two chairs. There are a lot of benches outside so you can relax in the summer sun while enjoying your ice cream. It was busy when I was here but they do have at least 3 people here working. Similar to Bang Bang, they're constantly moving as quickly as they can through the line. I found their service to be very friendly and allowing me to try a few flavours before deciding on their SJCB Espresso and Matcha flavour. One thing that I noticed that on a Saturday mid evening, there wasn't as many baked goods here. They had a lot of the cookies for the ice cream cookie sandwiches but they only have a few tarts each and maybe 1/4 of one cake available. The old yelp pictures shows a lot more options. They did have a few of their large cinnamon rolls available. Cap'n Peanut Cookie - I've had PB cookies before but this was a cool twist here it was peanut brittle so it had shards of caramel in it. Awesome cookie as it was tender and very PB. If you want to use this as part of an ice cream sandwich, I'd recommend a flavour that isn't very sweet as this cookie is already pretty sweet. 4/5 Burnt Toffee - This is creamy and not icy. I tried to find the burnt toffee flavour and it was more of a mild brown sugar. It's a moderate to higher sweetness. I just would have expected a deeper caramel flavour instead of a sugary one. 3.5/5 PB n Chocolate - Another creamy ice cream and the chocolate is more prominent. The PB is milder and didn't show up as much imo. Still a good ice cream that could be paired up with a cookie. 3.5/5 SJCB (Sam James Coffee Bar) Espresso - A very strong coffee espresso flavour that is bold and bright. I liked this one... interesting thing is that they include tiny coffee grinds in this. I'm not sure I like that touch but the flavour is quite nice. 4/5 Matcha - This is one of the less sweet ice creams that has a better balance of the bitter matcha and sweet ice cream base. It wasn't ice but very nice and smooth. I liked the balance and would be a nice addition to a cookie. 4/5 Pecan Butter Tart - I've developed a fondness for these Canadian iconic baked goods... sugar and butter overload in a flakey crust, what's wrong with not blinking from the sugar high. So these tarts are a bit different... they're not filled to the point where the interior caramelizes on the crust, the crust is more of a soft doughy shortbread instead of a flakey crust, and the the interior wasn't gooey. It reminded me more of a really thick corn syrup. I wasn't feeling this one as I found it to be too soft, doughy, and not very flavourful. 3/5 Blueberry Custard Tart - Its the same tart dough found in the butter tarts... very soft and doughy. It fits better with the custard tart but neither the custard or the tart shell had a particular flavour. I was hoping custard have at least some real vanilla bean seeds or something other than mild sweetness. Blueberries were a bit sour. 3/5 Overall, it's a solid spot to get some good ice cream with some really good cookies. It's a lot better than waiting 40+ minutes at Bang Bang and I would say that the service here is friendlier as well.

Yelp
Good dessert place near Ossington station. Not a lot of seating area, a table inside and benches outside. Lots of homemade unique flavored ice cream. We tried Espresso, Burnt toffee, Fresh mint and Lychee ice cream. All were delicious. Lucky we came the right time as the place started to fill. Would love to come back and try out the pastries.
