Rude, pretentious, crab apple of an owner. Mind you, I have begrudgingly purchased many exorbitantly priced things over the years at this store (mostly as house warming gifts for family and friends) but am unlikely to ever again. I was parking in the parking lot yesterday morning at 9:45am to go to Tous Le Jours with two of my kids. I pulled into one of the Home Grown designated spots because there were no others available and all the Home Grown ones were free (because the store wasn’t open yet). I got my kids out of the car (6 y.o. and 4 y.o.) and was walking in the parking lot and the owner of Home Grown was unlocking the door to her store, since her store doesn’t open until 10am. She asks me “are you coming to my store?” and recognizing that I was parked in one of their spots I said no, and she said “well, then you can’t park there.” So I obliged (believing i was in the wrong) and moved my car down the street since there were no spots in the lot. Upon walking into the bakery I saw the parking sign next to the door of her store indicating that the designated spots for all the other stores were reserved only from 10am - 6pm (see picture). So apparently she believes this rule does not apply to her store/spots. Honestly, it was just flat out rude. It was well before your store was open and I’m sorry but no one is waiting before opening time on a Thursday morning to shop at your grossly overpriced Home Goods. Stop being upset that a franchised bakery gets more foot traffic than your store of pointless accessories. Learn to have some kindness, actually not even kindness just reasonableness. or how about following your own rules about parking rather than being a btich about it? You could have just said, "just be out of the spot by 10am." I was parking in a spot before your store was even open, before any customers would have (or even could have) been coming to your store and I was going to be there for less than 5 minutes, so maybe try using all that fiery dedication you have for fiercely guarding your sacred parking spots outside of business hours into something truly productive—like, I don’t know, removing the stick from up your… Needless to say, you’ll find me at Home Goods buying any holiday home gifts for friends this year and using my savings to buying more baked goods at franchised bakeries

I have shopped here a handful of times and the first time was wonderful. One of the employees was so welcoming to myself and my child. So, I returned a few more times and each visit it got less inviting. This past time I wanted to buy a gift for a friend ( who frequents this shop) and this time I was ignored by not one but two employees. After ignoring me for 10 min my son walked over to a section and one of the ladies immediately walked over to block him from touching an item in the window. I immediately redirected my son and they returned to focusing on helping the only other client in the store and both were so fixated on her that after 20 min of looking around and making sure my son didn’t touch anything I just picked out an item went up to the desk and literally asked them if I could pay for the object. At that time they noticed me. I would expect this in a chain type store but not a small boutique. If I didn’t need to buy the gift that day I would never have given them the business. I personally will not be returning to this store which is unfortunate since it is around the corner from our home.

Very rude woman (curly hair with glasses/ old) working there. From the moment we walked in she had an attitude and asked why we were there. I asked how much something cost and she said "it's right there on the item". Very stuck up attitude toward us and the prices are terrible (almost $100 for a pickleball paddle total rip off).

Wonderful selection of carefully curated accents for a tasteful home. Good buyers lead to a refined showroom. Go check it out! Just picked up some beautiful martini glasses and cocktail napkins. Great selection this time of year.

Everything is beautiful. You'll find the perfect gift and they will package it beautifully. You only need to add a card. And they sell beautiful cards as well. But why not but yourself a gift? Elevate your home decor.

Had to make an account to be able to point out 600$ cheese trays ain't worth it. And most entitled customers I've ever seen in a retail environment.

Wonderful store with fabulous selections. The people who work there are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

I think this is one of the most fantastic shops on the main line. With the customer service level that they offer, I know I can always find the perfect gift. Not that I’m biased but I think this is really the place to shop.

Yelp
Needed a last minute wedding gift. Beautiful merchandise but super pricey. A large resin charcuterie board with some cheese spreaders was over $400. The wrapping was subpar and they put into a shopping bag that was too small. It was embarrassing to say the least. The overall vibe in the store was very "stuffy" not warm and welcoming.

Yelp
Many beautiful items here-some artist designed. Prices are somewhat high however the quality of items and their unique nature makes this a special place to shop for that special gift. Also items are packaged beautifully. Helpful, pleasant staff.

Yelp
Home Grown's selection of home decorations feels classic without being staid or predictable. Items range from decoupaged trays to Italian china, textured cotton blankets to enameled children's plates. I love browsing here for interior design inspiration after my Saturday morning coffee. Prices are high, but not gratuitously so, and there are plenty of things that feel special enough to justify a splurge. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Gorgeous and beautifully displayed, unique items - we've gotten many gifts for our friends including hostess trays, picture frames, crystal, serving items, bowl sets, baby gifts (and we always leave with something for ourselves). They have amazing and original gifts, and several of my friends have bridal registries here. Their children's items are super cute. They have a wide range of inexpensive to ultra luxury items. We used to shop at their original location in Manayunk, and we're so glad they're in Haverford! It's a huge store and you can spend hours browsing, or their staff will help you find what you need.

Yelp
Shopping for a beautiful wedding present, hostess gift, or something from your home should be a pleasant experience. No one has told the Home Grown staff. Stopped in for a hostess gift and was dismayed at the rude and unhelpful sales associates. There are some wonderful shops in Wayne and in Phila that carry the same lines and their staff will be sure you leave with a lovely gift, beautifully wrapped, AND a happy experience. Skip this store and go to a shop where the staff is helpful and friendly to customers.
