Had lunch at a place called Home Kitchen yesterday and all I can say is wow. Just wow.
On the surface it’s a fantastic restaurant, no doubt. But dig a little deeper and it’s doing something MUCH bigger.
Home Kitchen employs 16 people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. They're tackling two huge issues at once: breaking the stereotypes around homelessness and helping solve hospitality’s staff shortages.
For most of us, homelessness is often associated someone asking for change on the street. But what many don’t realise is that’s just the tip of the iceberg & only a tiny slice of a much bigger, more complex story about people who, for all kinds of reasons, have ended up in this tough situation.
So Home Kitchen was actually created to give people hands-on experience in professional kitchens and a path back into work and stability.
To me it's a small reminder that we can all be a bit better and that powerful change doesn’t always have to come from big, flashy initiatives. Next time we grab lunch, maybe we can all think about how our choices could support something meaningful like this!!

Thanks for hosting us!
