If you’re anywhere near Como, stop here…period. Home Place Pastures has that perfect mix of down home and good taste. Burgers are legit, fries are killer, and you can stock up on some of the best local meats around while you’re here. Can taste the love in these here burgers, yum. Service: A+ , Vibe: Even better.

Where do I even begin? The Home Place Pastures Farm Store was nothing short of phenomenal. I ordered the smash burger with fries fried in tallow, and it was unlike any meal I’ve ever experienced. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the freshness of the ingredients truly showcased the farm-to-table quality. To top it off, the staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. An unforgettable experience from start to finish!

While not conveniently located, it is in a perfect location for a working farm. Lunch there was fabulous. I had a bacon cheeseburger with fries and it was great...unlike any found elsewhere. Wholesome ingredients and excellent service. My 3rd time there & worth the drive.

Man this place is awesome! Had a burger and took home a couple steaks. Good product, good mission, glad to support a local butcher!

Google
New to area and stopped in yesterday for the first time. I bought two boneless rib eye steaks. I guess we are not used to fresh grass-fed beef or this style cut. Unfortunately the meat was tough, despite being cooked and seasoned well on a Weber grill. Sorry to say we will not try these again.

If you appreciate quality meat, this is the place. THE PLACE! Quality sandwiches, quality service, and a quality drive through the country. You know the French fries are good if they don’t need any ketchup.

Google
Quality meat, tasty French fries fried in tallow, what’s not like? 😊 A couple of my friends had burgers and I ordered the Greek pita which was absolutely delicious! We didn’t have the opportunity try any of the fresh meat selection as we were just passing through but would love an opportunity to return as you can see all the meat is of good quality.

Just so you know this place is not a hotel Google maps thinks it is. . This place is a small restaurant and meat market. They sell pasture raised beef and pork. We ate lunch there and the food was great. The Staff was super friendly. They give a Military discount too.

Yelp
Stopped in here for lunch today. I'm the only one who knew where we were headed, I kept the destination a secret from the rest of the family. I don't know why, I'm just cool and mysterious like that. They didn't have the full lunch menu available today, they only had a lunch plate special. And damn what a plate it was. 2 pieces fried chicken, mashed potatoes, greens, and a biscuit. The fried chicken had a sauce over it that was very reminiscent of Uncle Lou's sweet spicy love sauce but with less of the heat. That's a good thing for our table because one of the kids is not a spicy fan. Think I'm gonna need a DNA test on that one because I don't know what's up with that. In addition to the lunch counter there is also a full butcher shop with many different cuts of pork and beef. Prices seemed pretty reasonable as well and although I didn't get anything from the butcher I'll bet it's a damn sight better than what you'll get at Kroger. Everyone we dealt with (okay there were only 2 people, the lady at the register and the guy cooking) was very friendly, checking in without a few times throughout the meal, asking if it's our first time (it was) and welcoming us. Insider it's a cute country store vibe with some various sun dried in addition to the meats and lunch counter like soap, honey, I think I saw bags of grits.....

Yelp
I discovered Home Place Pastures within the last year or so through the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science Alumni Magazine. Since I grew up a hop, skip, and jump away from Como, off of Highway 310 in Marshall County, I was eager to check out the farm store on one of my upcoming visits back home. I finally got to stop by this past weekend, and I ordered takeout for lunch on Sunday, which consisted of 4 smoked brisket sandwiches, 2 wedge salads, 2 orders of egg rolls, a basket of French fries, and 3 slices of chocolate pie. The customer service I received during my visit was superb, and I throughly enjoyed the butcher shop meets Hill Country cafe vibes in the dining area while I waited for my food to be prepared. Once I got back to my mom's house, I realized both salads came with bacon, which meant the pescatarian in our family couldn't eat her meal. Other than that small hiccup, everything else was phenomenal! My family raved about the smoke brisket sandwiches, and I really enjoyed the egg rolls, wedge salad, French fries, and slice of chocolate pie that I ate. Overall, a great experience, and I look forward to stopping by again in the future when I'm back home in North Mississippi.

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch and had some amazing burgers! The atmosphere inside is cool and everyone working here was so friendly. We also got a few steaks from the meat counter to cook for dinner the next day and they were wonderful! If you are ever any where near Home Place I highly recommend stopping by!

Yelp
Booked a glamming experience on the farm & we of course had to get some meat! We bought the NY strip steak and carne asada. They were absolutely delicious! The pasta salad (not pictured) was also delicious! Go visit! Very friendly & helpful staff!

Yelp
What a nice surprise tucked away in Como Ms. We found this place on FB. My husband and I took the hour drive from Memphis and it did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Chef had the best attitude and was easy to talk to concerning his ability to cook southern food being that he is from Australian. Okay about the food, my gyro was delicious and the Philly cheese made with bauvette beef was tasty to say the least. The croissant was tender flaky and huge! We also purchased the weekend meat special and a slice of chocolate pie, yes Lawd!! We are looking forward to returning real soon.

Yelp
Highly recommend making a trip out to Como MS to visit Home Pastures. An adorable farm that sells direct to the public grass finished beef and pork. Stay awhile and have a yummy lunch in their farm store.

Yelp
To the management... Been heading down to HP for a few years to grab a good lunch and a load of meat. It's been a few months since I have visited...and things have changed. 1. Burgers are too salty. You need to plug up the holes in your seasoning shakers so your new chef doesn't give people a BP spike. 2. Your fries are great. Why destroy them by over seasoning. You should make seasoning an option not jack up every order with your salt and sugar mix on the fries. 3. Front desk attitude. When a customer brings something to you, it's not always a ploy or irrational complaint. Try listening. Honestly, you should have offered to replace the fries. I didn't push it because I wanted to see how you'd handle it. The way you did made me forget about the meat order. (But something tells me you don't care as you read this.) 4. If you cannot manage to put requested toppings on a burger, you might want to look at your processes. I have never had any pushback anywhere asking for something as simple as ketchup and lettuce. Instead you said some line about how busy you get. I still like your place and would like to be excited about loading up the family and making the trip down there as it is a cool spot that is well done. Don't let your success be your downfall. This review would have been a five if written last year; a four if your front counter would have behaved like they valued my business; but calling like I see it today. I hope to return in the future, but my motivation is lower.

Yelp
I live about an hour away from this place and have gone three times. All three times I've had trouble not over-buying as they sell all sorts of great quality meats and specialties. The owner and staff were all homely and took good care of us every time. 5/5 Do you and yours a favor and try it one early Sunday afternoon. Side note: They are ONLY OPEN for the restaurant portion from Thursday-Sunday!

Yelp
Awesome Quality Meat! They always have the best customer service. Looking for a special cut they will get it done! Bulk orders are always correct. They always make sure you're taken care of.

Yelp
the chicken was horrible, the sides were ok, may try one more time, maybe a bad day, the picture of the chicken looked different from what I got!

Yelp
Loved the burger, melt, and hospitality! We left with stew meat and hand cut steaks, too. :)

Yelp
Home Place Pastures is a family farm in rural, backwoods Mississippi trying to raise culinary expectations and standards for the state and region. The approach is to practice humane, environment friendly methods to raising heirloom breed pigs, beef and sheep. The farm products are marketed to upscale restaurants in Memphis, Oxford, Tupelo, Jackson, New Orleans as well as to the public. The farm has been in the family since 1871. On Sunday 8/21/2016, my son and I attended one of several events held during the year to promote and showcase the farm products. The owners invited some of the chefs they regularly supply for an incredible chef's dinner and picnic they called a "Hill Country Boucherie". The chefs broke down whole lamb, beef, and swine in their brand new on-farm butcher facility before cooking. Largely modeled after a farm picnic or dinner-on-the-grounds, cooking stations were assembled beside a beautiful cypress lined lake on the property where a whole lamb and hog were slow cooked for the main course while the chefs prepared different Tapas style small plates highlighting nose to tail eating. Cathead Vodka furnished cocktails and Yalobusha and Tin Roof Brewing furnished the beer. Tables and chairs were set overlooking the tranquil lake where diners enjoyed a beautiful view along with the food. The event benefited the Southern Foodways Alliance at the nearby University of Mississippi in Oxford. It was an event not for the picky eater as chefs were challenged to explore less familiar cuts of the animals that are not on the normal menu. Without exception, the results were outstanding and the event well worth the trek to the wilds of the Mississippi outback.

Yelp
Recently visited Home Place on a sunny Saturday; two couples. We'd been aware of HP for some time and thought it would be a nice outing. We drove across the dam at Sardis, lots of folks fishing, we enjoyed the drive and seeing the lake. The store is a really cool building made from reclaimed lumber, front porch with seating and the day we visited there was live music which added to the atmosphere. Our group had pad Thai and burgers; we're still arguing about which was best; they were both over the top good. I had pad Thai, so I will focus on that. The Home Place version comes topped with some of the best brisket I've ever had and I've had some really good brisket. The dish is well seasoned and slightly spicy, definitely something I will have again. Everyone was welcoming, kind and attentive, we really felt comfortable and at home. Thank you for your kind hospitality and great food.

Yelp
For Christmas I sent a big box from these folks to my son snd his family. It is the beginning of a new tradition, 100%. I sent, bacon, sausage, steaks (fillets & flat iron) and ground beef. Absolutely delicious !!
