The Best Bottomless Brunches in San Francisco - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The Deal: $23 per person for 75 minutes of unlimited mimosas. Brunch at Home Plate is a one-way ticket to an afternoon on the couch. The fluffy pancakes and heavy dishes like corned beef hash or chicken-fried steak are decadence on a platter. But you should still get to this Marina spot any time for their bottomless mimosas (available daily), which you can enjoy for exactly 75 minutes." - ricky rodriguez, julia chen 1, lani conway

The 17 Best Restaurants In The Marina

"If one of the city’s many data companies illustrated Marina brunch spots as a pie chart, the larger slices would be "bottomless mimosas" and "social media-friendly wallpaper" and the smaller slivers would be lowkey breakfast spots like Home Plate. The diner looks like a living room straight out of an East Coast beach house, and you’ll want to get here for the buttermilk pancakes loaded with fruit and whipped cream, omelets, and benedicts, all of which you can dig into while admiring the baseball photos on the wall and the pillows with motivational quotes stitched on them." - julia chen 1, lani conway

We were the first ones to arrive at the restaurant, as they had just opened, and it was shockingly a quite pleasant and quaint place to dine in. The staff was friendly and welcoming, as well as attentive to our needs throughout our breakfast. To be frank, the food was not great, nor was it bad, it was simply "okay" considering how pricey almost every dish was. The croffle caught our attention, which I believe is just a croissant pressed down with a waffle iron, and served with toppings you typically see in a crepe (bananas, strawberries, Nutella, etc). Again, it sounded a lot better than it tasted, as it was not anything special in our opinion, again, also considering how pricey it was just for one croissant essentially. The environment just outside their front doors is unfortunately not the most pleasant, with there being a large amount of trash on the sidewalk. Overall, it was an okay breakfast, the most convenient part being how early they open compared to other breakfast serving restaurants.

Nice place, calm with good staff and delicious brunch options. Prices are also very good and I recommend you go with their pancakes.

Super cute place! Came after a run with the MRC run club. Good: - The ambiance is great, beautiful decor and it's a cute brunch place - The acai bowl was great - super beautiful plating and good portion size, I liked the acai blend they used too and there was a lot of fruit on the plate - The huevos rancheros was also delicious, the tortilla was plated in a cute way - The latte with oatmilk was so tasty! - Staff checked in us a lot Bad: - Takes forever for the food to come out! I swear we waited about 30 min for the food to get to us Overall enjoyed the experience though it was a lot of waiting.

Some people go to brunch for the food. Some go for the ambiance. I unknowingly went to meet my future husband… Home Plate is everything you want in a brunch spot: welcoming, consistent, and just indulgent enough to feel special without being over the top. My personal favorite is the crab omelette with shrimp added—extra protein, extra delicious. Paired with a bottomless coffee and steamed oat milk, it’s the perfect way to start the day (or a whole new chapter). Whether you’re here for the food, the cozy vibe, or an unexpected twist of fate, Home Plate delivers every time :)

Google
Such a fine little cafe, the service is exceptional, good food, lots of menu choices, nice decor (although the chairs need to be shampooed). I had the starter breakfast, bacon was cooked just right and not greasy, hashbrowns, toast and eggs likewise very good. Lots of good places to eat in SF and this is certainly one of them.

Drove a hour from Santa Rosa to San Francisco just to go eat and I wish I didn’t choose this place because my experience was awful!!! I am not that familiar with san francisco so we parked by the restaurant thinking the parking was free and after we ate, we got back to the car and realized we received a ticket that was on our windshield for not paying the parking fee which we had no idea about. we were just so eager to eat that we completely didn’t notice that we had to pay before parking. As we got to the restaurant the Food was okay, felt too soft almost raw and I didn’t really enjoy it. I ordered pancakes with scrambled eggs and sausage. We were automatically served water as a drink but weren’t even asked if we wanted to drink something else. Waitress seemed a bit rude and didn’t look like she wanted to serve us. She didn’t even ask my kid what she wanted to eat and didn’t let me talk either because she rushed attending us. So in conclusion we had a bad experience in the restaurant and even as we left for which we had to pay $60 in parking and basically It was a total of $120 wasted because of the food. Will not be coming back here again.

I just wanted to take a moment to compliment our server, Mel, for her exceptional service during our visit. She was incredibly polite, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. Her positive attitude and professionalism added so much to our dining experience. Honestly, if I ever come back to this restaurant, it will be largely because of Mel’s outstanding service — and of course, the great food as well!

Yelp
The food is excellent. I had the home plate special it was delicious. My partner has thService was quick, we came on a Wednesday morning so there was no wait. The place is super cute. I found this place on Yelp and out of all the breakfast spots in San Francisco that we have tried this one is my favorite. They also have a cute set up in the front to take pictures.

Yelp
So my family and I are here in San Francisco touring colleges for our youngest son, and we decided to check out Home Plate for breakfast! So as always, I'll begin with the good. Home Plate was a very nice a chilled spot that had a relaxing vibe while your dining. I loved how attentive everyone was. As a matter of fact as soon as we walked in, we were seated. When the waitress saw that I was running low on coffee, she was there to refill. This definitely put me in my happy place. Now for the food. The Pancakes and the French Toast I ordered, were a hit! So flavor, hot, and mouthwatering. Even while my oldest son was eating his pancakes, you could tell that the cook put a little love in making the pancakes. Now for the opportunities Home Plate should consider. My youngest son shared with us, that there was a review that said the waffles were just so so. I really think they should have listened. The waffles at Home Plate made Ego Waffles look amazing. And my Chicken Sausage Patty wasn't any better. The sausage was very dry and extremely hard. I would definitely be back when I'm back in the San Francisco area, but we won't be ordering the waffles or chicken sausage patties.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with a few friends and had an overall nice experience. The service was wonderful. Our waitress was super friendly and gave us great recommendations, which we really appreciated. The ambiance is pretty and inviting when you first walk in, but there was a noticeable oily, greasy smell coming from the kitchen-possibly a ventilation issue that took away a bit from the overall vibe. We were also a little underwhelmed by the coffee, especially for a spot that serves breakfast and lunch. That said, the food was enjoyable, and the service really stood out.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem! How come I have only found out about this place after all this years? Ambiance is the best, food is amazing- try their fried avocado, server Nacha is so genuine! The coffee lady is awesome too except she thought we had a problem with food and I think it's a language barrier issue lol. Bathroom is spacious and clean , has a changing table for infants! Love that this place is here. Definitely an alternate for breakfast to go!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute restaurant & friendly service! I love that they have fresh juice I ordered the carrot celery and it was refreshing. I also ordered the fried avocados and the chicken sausage with friends toast. The French toast was delicious. I was not too much of a fan of the chicken sausage. I prefer it to be more savory but that is just personal preference. I still would recommend Home Plate. Breakfast was solid.

Yelp
7:15am Friday: You know how people older than you always say everything in the city used to be better? Cleaner, cheaper, etc? Back in the day Sonny, I used to work 6am shift & my coworkers & I would make a 2 mile special trip for this cute little place with the homemade jam. Fast forward, the table has a pile of tiny Smuckers packs, just like a greasy spoon. However, ambiance now that of a fancy hotel where breakfast is included, not much personality. I ordered a classic bacon & eggs, with many side options. I chose potato pancakes. Big mistake. What are these 2 thin square things that I'm sure are stacked frozen in the kitchen. For two large pancakes it was weird to get about 2 teaspoons each of apple sauce & sour cream. Bacon & eggs just ok. Left the bland toast on my plate. They forgot to heat the teapot water. Anyway, super friendly wait staff, working hard. Didn't take long for food to arrive. Steady stream of tourists from the many Lombard motels. 8am the back room was packed. When paying my waiter disappeared with my credit card for a long time. Most places take your card at the table so it's never out of sight. Just a suggestion here. I can see the appeal of Home Plate if you're staying nearby or want a fancy place to take grandma. For me, I wouldn't return, so many better cafes & restaurants in San Francisco. I felt bad for the tourists, they could have taken a fun driverless car ride to an actual neighborhood establishment.

Yelp
Home Plate is one of the BEST breakfast/lunch restaurants in San Francisco. Great food no matter what you order. The wait staff is amazing, you want for nothing. Prices are on point and huge portions. Rush to 2150 Lombard!!!!

Yelp
This place was weird. Food was mediocre. Service was below average. One step up from a Dennys.

Yelp
Came for a Saturday morning breakfast around 10am. Street parking was plentiful. We were warmly greeted when we walked in and the staff was very patient while we were trying to find a table within the restaurant that would accommodate my elderly godparents hearing issues. We were quickly seated, ordered orange juice (OMG - it was so delicious - fresh squeezed)!!! Portions were huge (we were able to share one plate amongst two people with plenty to eat). Restaurant was nicely decorated, nicely lit and clean. There are some other dishes that sounded good, but I was bummed that my stomach could not accommodate my desire to eat them..ha ha. I know what I'd like to try when I come back.

Yelp
There was no wait on a Sunday afternoon at home plate and it's a nice quiet spot inside, decently big with lots of tables. The iced mocha was super yummy and pretty and tasted like chocolate milk, and the English breakfast tea was good. However the mozzarella sticks were a little bit overcooked and tough. I was expecting the four cheese toast to be better but the bread was really soggy and the cheese on the very top was too hard and did not taste good at all. The service was great and so were the coffee and tea but sadly the food I got here was disappointing.
google avatar

Yelp
There was a wait of about 20 minutes for our party of two. It went by pretty quickly. Parking outside is quite a hassle but there is metered street parking; it just takes some driving around to find. The place is cute, chairs are comfy (at least the ones we got), and the decor was nice. The food was okay. I tried being healthy with the carrot juice. Benefits are great of course, but taste, not too great. I had the Philly steak omelet. The meat inside was good but the eggs were a bit bland. Ended things with a mimosa 'cause why not.

Yelp
Good and close to lots of hotels. This spot was decently priced and had a few vegan options. Inside was very clean and bright. Perfect spot to stop before traveling to airport!

Yelp
We came on a Sunday afternoon for brunch with a few other friends. this is in the city but a little bit further south not too far from the actual San Francisco area. The place is pretty spacious so if you have a large group of friends or family, it should be easy to accommodate. They are only open for brunch/lunch. Despite all that, I really enjoyed everything we ate. It was really good. They did seem in a hurry for us to leave. I understand it was 3 PM and they were close. That was the only thing that I noticed, but other than that, I definitely would be coming back.

Yelp
Had brunch at Home Plate and overall, it was a solid experience with a few quirks. We ordered the Home Run Plates--one with waffles and one with pancakes, paired with the chicken apple sausage. Both were delicious, but the egg servings felt a little odd. The Peach Bellini was a definite highlight--perfectly balanced and refreshing. The atmosphere was quiet, nice, and aesthetically pleasing, which made for a relaxing meal. Service was friendly, but not as attentive as we would've liked. The biggest letdown? The hash browns. They didn't quite hit the mark. Not bad, but definitely underwhelming compared to the rest of the meal. Would I come back? Probably, especially for the Bellini and the overall vibe. But I'd skip the hash browns next time!

Yelp
Interesting concept! We went relatively early on a weekday for breakfast and even though tables were filled, it felt like a library. All of us were almost too scared to speak. Although everything was so pretty, including the food, it was all a little underwhelming. When we first sat down, the seats felt worn in with a lot of stains which is normal for a restaurant, people are going to spill food. it's inevitable, but these were fabric, upholstery seats/couches. The food wasn't amazing, didn't wow anyone and felt like for the price we were paying there should've been more to them in terms of flavors.

Yelp
All around 5 stars for Home Plate - Food, service, ambiance! We were immediately greeted and provided seating options, and the server promptly came by and took our order. Way to make guests feel welcome right off the bat. When the food came, everything we ordered was delicious! Of course the usuals - pancakes, French toast, hash browns SO yum! But the surprising star of our wild card order was the mozzarella sticks! I've never had mozzarella sticks like this - definitely not your typical freezer sticks. These are as if they were hand breaded and made to order - we ordered two orders.... Almost 3 lol. We will absolutely be back with the family! Thank you Home Plate!
google avatar

Harlee S.

Yelp
Cute restaurant with great food! This place gets pretty busy, though, so you might have to wait to be seated. I liked the interior, but we sat by the main door which was opening and closing constantly, and I'd rather have sat in the main dining room, which was cuter. Food is good and tasty, which is really the most important part.
google avatar

Yelp
Home Plate didn't quite hit a home run. The good stuff: Upon entering, we were immediately seated by a friendly hostess . Interior was clean and spacious and somewhat of an intimate setting. Chairs were comfy; owners very brave to have plush tan colored seating...hope all chairs scotch guard! Now the not-so-good stuff: Service was fair (constantly had to ask for refills on water and iced tea). The busser literally had to be flagged down numerous times to refill our liquids instead of our waitress. Also, bummer that the wife couldn't substitute breaded chicken for grilled (that should've been an easy adjustment IMO). The food was fair; my waffles had to crisp to it, and the chicken fried steak was thin and seemed like to be to frozen ones from a food distributor. My wife's roasted chicken omelette was probably a 3-egger, but chicken was scarce. The Monte Cristo didn't look like a typical one; more like a ham and cheese Sando. Overall a nice place to have good conversation, but food was ok for breakfast.

Yelp
Home Plate is a great, casual, cozy breakfast/brunch spot in the Marina. I prefer my breakfasts to be straightforward and delicious, and Home Plate hit the mark! I enjoyed my Greek Frittata, though would forgo the olives next time. The potato pancakes were a nice change of pace. The ambiance was super cozy and the service was great. My only suggestion for Home Plate is to revamp their menu. The categories had so much overlap and it was hard to follow the organizational pattern/know where to look. :)
google avatar

Braeden H.

Yelp
Overall, I would summarize the trip as a mixed experience. Both the food and service were ok, but could have been better. The inside of the restaurant was clean and had a nice vibe to it, and they have an area with a bench inside for pictures. One ding I will also mention is that the menu tab on the website advertises at the top that they are known for their scones. However, when asked, the server said they no longer serve them. This seems like a fairly simple thing to remove. I don't see myself coming here again. Fried Chicken and Waffle Benedict: A solid dish, but nothing special and not something I would order again, especially for the price. The chicken was pretty thin, so not a massive portion, but I thought it was a reasonable amount of food. Potato Pancakes: These are more or less just thin hash browns. However, they were soft rather than crispy like a typical hash brown. They were served with some sauces which seemed like sour cream and apple sauce. The sauces were light and complemented the potato well. Bottomless Mimosas: You only get access to the plain orange mimosas, and you have 1 hour and 15 minutes of service. They were pretty quick at first, but we barely saw the server towards the second half of our meal.

Yelp
I actually used to really like Home Plate. This was my go to spot to take my clients or industry friends to dine at. I always came in on a weekday after breakfast rush and usually around lunch but it doesn't get busy during the weekday as it does for a weekend (also parking is easier during the week.) The last time I came in about a week or so ago was going to be my last. When they got rid of one of my favorite items (corn nuggets) a while ago I was bummed and was thinking the chicken and waffle was going to keep me coming back. The chicken is actually chxn fried steak which is one of my favorite breakfast items and the "trendy" spots don't make comfort breakfast items like that anymore. So I decided that I will continue to come here even sans corn nuggets. Anyways, I came in ordered my usual fresh orange juice and chxn and waffle but recently I've been trying to lose a few pounds and I didn't want the additional waffles. I asked the waitress if I could swap the waffles out for fruit (you know how most places let you swap or add something for a few bucks) but the waitress simply said they can't do that even if I paid (she didn't even bother to check.) OK, I get it if I can in during the rush but literally we were the only diners there (the other 2 parties of 2 were done eating and paying the bill) so I just feel th3 inflexibility was a bit insane especially because they do offer fruit... the inflexibility even when they are dead left a sour taste in my mouth along with the orange juice which had a bit of a vinegary aftertaste this time around. If I want chxn fried steak I'll just go to Big Bear Diner near my house.

Yelp
In a sea of Thai/Asian fusion brunch spots, home plate stands out for its classy decor and reasonably priced options! We started off with a liter of raspberry lemonade mimosa, which was reasonably priced at about $33. It filled about 6 glasses. They have a lot of flavoring options that I didn't get to try, but I really enjoyed the sweet/tart balance this one had. I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was quite well done! I was surprised at how well the grilled pineapple complimented the dish (and makes me want to grill pineapple more at home). Both the steak and waffle were crispy, the gravy was savory and the syrup was lightly sweet. A winning combination all around. The crab omelette was my favorite of my friends orders. It was a decent amount of crab, especially given the price, and really fresh crab! The corned beef hash actually surprised me. I've only had it twice before but I think this is easily the best one I've had. The meat was tender and crisp and who doesn't love a good runny egg+meat+potato combo? The home run special was a good classic. I wasn't a huge fan of the French toast, but I'm not a sweets person at all. I did enjoy the sweetness of the sausage. The service was phenomenal, prompt and kind. We had some people running late and they still sat us and let us wait to order our food so we could eat together.

Yelp
Disclaimer: "house fries" here are roasted potatoes. Enjoyed my Sunday brunch here. Large portions and expansive menu. Menu is definitely more on the breakfast side on the breakfast-lunch scale. Portion was personally too big for me as a light breakfast person, would like to do a half portion next time if possible. We got coffee as well. Can add caramel or vanilla to coffee and my vanilla cappuccino did not disappoint. They only have oat milk and whole milk. Also the restaurant wraps around the back and it gets nicer and nicer as you walk in. We got seated in the back and the restaurant was so fancy!
google avatar

Meg G.

Yelp
Pros: huge portions, great service, good vegetarian options Cons: pricey for food that wasn't the most flavourful
google avatar

Serena L.

Yelp
Came a second time around 1pm on a Sunday and was immediately seated. Not sure how other days are, but it's nice to have zero wait time. Monte cristo - 3.5/5, french toast with egg and ham, served with fries and apple sauce. The fries on its own are 5/5, super crispy and delicious! The monte cristo was alright, I tried it with apple sauce, syrup and ketchup. I personally think it's better with syrup since it's a french toast, but the apple sauce was alright.

Yelp
Love the ambiance of the place. Felt like I was dining in a kitchen/dining room. The decor was simple but pleasant on the eyes. I got the chunky corned beef hash and my friend got the spicy chicken kim chi burger. I enjoyed my meal. The corned beef was not salty like most are. The best touch was the sweet potato. The poached eggs were perfectly poached and so tasty! The portion size was perfect. I complimented my meal with a large orange juice that was not too sweet and not too tart. My friend loved the spicy chicken kim chi burger. He noted that it was not spicy at all but just right. All the flavors were there. The fries were garlic fries and that was nice touch to the meal. I ended up eating them. Service was great. The only thing was the 18% gratuity that was already added to bill. I am not big on restaurants not allowing me the option to tip based on the service I got. I would have given 20% but because that was the 18% was already there, I didn't.

Yelp
Big extensive menu for brunch so plenty of options! Reasonable pricing for big portions and good quality food. Got the croffle benedict which is a croissant eggs benedicts basically but was interesting with the black forest ham and the buttery flaky croissant added an interesting element to the flavors which worked well- have gotten it twice now it's very good. We also got the surf and turf benedict- really liked the spicy hollandaise sauce on this. Can never go wrong with a buttermilk pancake for the table to share also, nicely fluffy and left extremely full trying to scoff it all. Looks unassuming on the outside but nice indoor seating in a spacious area with pretty decor, been a few times and have never had to wait too long for a table at the weekends- usually walk in and are seated quickly by their friendly staff. Will be back to try more menu items and their $22 bottomless mimosas special

Yelp
Good solid spot for brunch in the Marina. Be ready for a long wait specially on the weekends. I like the vibe of this place, it's spacious and modern. The service is also quick given the insane rush here. Their menu is versatile with great options catering to all kinds of audience. I got the Chicken on Fire Burger with Katsu Chicken Katsu which was delicious and juicy, I loved this burger and the helping was huge for one person. On the contrary, didn't enjoy the Breakfast Tacos I had ordered. They were a bit bland for my taste and lacked good seasoning. I was happy with my Mimosa and the coffee I had ordered. Overall I would recommend this cute brunch place in the Marina!
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
We came here for brunch in the Marina. I got the Fried Chicken & Waffle Benedict because I'd been craving Fried Chicken & Waffle since I got to SF. The one they served was solid, but nothing special. It definitely wasn't mediocre either, but I felt that the fried chicken was just a bit on the dry side. I could've used a bit more juiciness and flavor. My favorite part about the place was definitely the vibes/ambiance. The interior was really cute and a nice setting to catch-up with friends over a nice meal and some long conversations. The service was solid too, but for the price point, I'd say there're better brunch places in the city.
google avatar

Michelle Z.

Yelp
Get the crispy french toast. It is so incredibly delicious!! Not too heavy or sweet, but still filling enough for brunch. This is one of the first brunch places I went to in SF and it's still stuck with me since then, even after all the brunch I've tried. The plating is also beautiful and very aesthetic. No complaints about the service either. Vibe inside is very homey and comfortable. There's a bit of a wait here but that's expected from a popular brunch spot in SF.
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
Usually there is a line out the door and long wait times but on this particular Saturday there was no wait! We got bottomless and they came to refill very quickly. Our food came out really fast which was also nice. I had the California Burger and it was juicy and a very good burger.

Yelp
Love the vibe of this place and always enjoy the breakfast! Staff is extremely sweet and attentive and the food is always delicious. Great for breakfast or brunch!

Yelp
My friend and I had plans to attend the Giants home opener at Oracle Park as is our tradition every year. We decided to get brunch beforehand, and chose Home Plate because why not choose a baseball-themed restaurant/café on the day of the home opener? It just makes sense. So we hauled @$$ to Lombard Street. If you drive over, there's metered street parking nearby. And it's a fairly safe neighborhood, so I wouldn't worry about having your car broken into. We walked in and were seated promptly. The walls are decorated with Giants and baseball-related pictures. I ordered the Crispy French Toast as i'm a pushover for french toast. I complemented it with an order of a latte to also get my morning coffee fix. Friend ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich with a latte as well. The food came in about 15-20 minutes. The Crispy French Toast was delicious. Granted it was just two pieces, but they were well-sized and filling, and I was also given a generous amount of butter and maple syrup. The fruit and nuts that circled the edge of the plate were a nice addition too. All in all, it was great. My latte was good too. Could've been a little bit warmer, but was still to my liking. My friend claimed his Monte Cristo was great as well. I tried a few of the garlic fries that came with it, and they were among the best I've ever tasted. Never thought a breakfast/brunch place here in SF would have such tasty garlic fries. Prices aren't cheap but not super expensive either by any stretch. Overall, Home Plate is a great breakfast/brunch place especially if you're a big Giants (or baseball in general) fan like me. 4 stars

Yelp
I have been coming to this breakfast spot location for numerous of years when it was called Baywatch. The restaurant is now called Home Plate. I don't know if it's the same owners but breakfast/brunch/lunch is always good - portions are ample, tasty and service is to please. There is always something for everyone - some of my table mates are quite picky. The interior has changed since it was Baywatch. They took out the small glass enclosed dining room (sat 30 persons max where I would hold wedding showers/baby showers/family gatherings and where organizations would hold there meetings). The restaurant serves "home made" type of food - nothing fancy or fusion. Food quality and service still remain excellent.

Yelp
Went in for breakfast and loved the crispy french toast. The OJ was ok, questionable if it was freshly squeezed. Mocha tasted like hot chocolate, didn't taste any coffee. Parking outside was easy, and ambiance inside is cute, but chairs are dirty and could use cleaning or replacement. Overall would recommend, but maybe order regular coffee.

Yelp
First of all this is the cutest place. It's also so big inside which is surprising for San Francisco since usually restaurants are pretty small in size. There is usually a wait during Saturday, Sunday brunch so just be prepared. I think I waited about 40 minutes however, the wait was definitely worth it. I was going back-and-forth between a savory dish and a sweet dish. I usually will always pick savory but I was craving something sweet that day. I ended up ordering the French toast and it did not disappoint. Oh my gosh was it perfect - it was sweet, crispy and adorned with fresh fruits and plated so beautifully.

Yelp
Very good! We went on a Wednesday morning and the place was pretty empty but the host was very attentive and kind. The food was super good and they kept the coffee coming.

Yelp
Service is not friendly. You can feel the rush, careless and perfunctory while waitress taking your order. Food is fresh.

Yelp
Home Plate | San Francisco 1. Chicken Fried Steak & Waffles ~ chicken fried steak (sirloin steak) served with waffle, gravy, and grilled pineapple. 2. Crispy French Toast ~ fresh mixed berries, nuts with Mascarpone mousse 3. Side of hash browns Home Plate is one of the best brunch places in San Francisco. This traditional-style American breakfast joint is known for revolutionizing the way we enjoy our food by simply making you feel like you are at home. They focus on creating unique flavors while ensuring that their food is consistent, their presentation is beautiful, and their staff provides excellent service. From the outside looking in, it doesn't look super nice, but once you walk through those doors, it feels like you're at someone's house. A lot of the decor is inspired by household items, which really gives it that homie feel or look.   Aside from that, the food was fantastic. We ordered the chicken fried steak and waffles, crispy French toast, and a side of hash browns. Their version of chicken fried steak and waffles was something I'd never had before, which was super eye-opening to me. The steak was fried perfectly and had the right amount of tenderness to it. The gravy itself complimented not only the steak but the waffles as well, which was crazy. The crispy French toast was fried which gave it a nice crunch. Overall, I had an amazing experience here. If you're ever near The Marina in SF, please check out this place!

Yelp
To those that have read my hundreds of reviews over the years, there are very few breakfast/brunch spots that are worthy of a 5-star Yelp review. "Home Plate" deserves that honor. This place offers upscale ambiance, amazingly delicious food, top notch service, reasonable prices, and an amazing location in the heart of the Marina District. Located directly on Lombard St. (and in between Steiner & Fillmore St's), this place has been serving traditional breakfast favorites dating back to 1989. As crazy as this sounds, this was my first time eating here (in April 2023). I lived in the Bay Area until 2001 and never got around coming here. And with my busy work schedule, I only make a few trips per year to San Francisco. As far as the location, the Marina/Cow Hollow neighborhood is one of my favorite places to visit in the whole city. I was raised only a few blocks from here so being in this area brings back vivid memories and nostalgia where I grew up. I arrived here during the morning of Sunday 4/2/2023 at around 9:35am. Upon entering, my party and I were seated immediately and given iced waters. The interior design and aesthetics of this place is absolutely amazing. Ladies, this place is Instagram/TikTok worthy complete with the floral planted backdrop to the cushioned seating, beautiful chandeliers, and upscale walls throughout. To be honest, this place resembles more of a Williams-Sonoma catalogue than a breakfast spot. And that is not necessarily a bad thing. When it was our turn to order, I went with the "Breakfast Starter" (for $15). This included two eggs (I prefer mine over easy), sourdough toast w/butter, 3 Hobb's pork sausage links, hashed browns, and a side of mixed greens. Since I already had coffee (at the hotel I was staying at), I settled with water. One of the members in my group went with "Home Run Special" (for $16.50). This included two eggs (scrambled), French toast, bacon, and served with warm syrup, butter and topped with powdered sugar and seasonal fresh berries. Our meals arrived in roughly 10 minutes and was presented perfectly. I love the little attention to detail this place offers including a small condiment holder which houses the packs of jelly, sugar, creamer, salt/pepper shakers, and hot sauces. As far as the taste, I was impressed with how fresh and delicious everything came out. And I have to say, for only $15 in an affluent touristy area of San Francisco, this was an amazing deal. All in all, the overall experience of "Home Plate" felt as if I hit a grand slam deep into McCovey Cove at Oracle Park. This is a great place to bring your significant other, family, kids, or anyone that wishes to enjoy a quality breakfast at a reasonable price. With that said and done, I am giving Home Plate a unanimous five-star Yelp review.

Yelp
New fave brunch spot! We came on a sat morning w a big group and we got seated quickly even tho it was busy! The dining room is so homey, every table feels like an intimate family dinner table. The food was bomb. Chocolate chip pancakes were fluffy & perfect. Aleks couldn't get enough of his eggs Benedict chicken and waffles. He ordered something else and got this on accident and the restaurant was so accommodating. He was NOT upset! He devoured. They were great w refills and checking in on everyone. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Service was not good waitress came off like she was having a bad day and passed it on to me and my friend. We both ordered the steak and asked for medium well and i wanted 2 eggs fried all the way through. We got 2 over cooked steak and eggs over easy. We ordered 2 coffee espresso 1 with caramel the other vanilla absolutely zero flavor and the coffee was cold. Place is clean and cute but food and service was not good.

Yelp
Gotta get the pancake - super good! Loved the decorations inside the restaurant. The waiters were super communicative and helpful when we told them about my friends peanut allergy. So was the host when we called ahead. 10/10 in my book!

Yelp
From the outside it does not look like much. Considering there is construction going on. However, as soon as you walk it it looks very nice inside. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Not only our server but the other server that was on the floor was very attentive to all tables not only their own ensuring the water never low, checking if we needed anything, refilling the coffee, it was just great and very pleasing to leave a tip ( which is automatically deducted)... but with service like this we don't mind at all. Aside of the great looking place, and great staff the food was very delicious as well. I would def recommend and return.

Yelp
I was in the mood for pancakes and I looked up a place close to where I was at the moment , They had good reviews so I ordered from Uber Eats , I was definitely not disappointed! Buttermilk Pancakes fluffy and bacon cooked just the way I like it, the scrambled eggs were cooked super hard , I should have had for easy .. anyway , I was pleased with my meal , and the fact that the food held the temperature during transport! Would I order from this restaurant again, sure if I am in the area ! Until then Happy Eating !

Yelp
Perfection. We ordered the Classic Eggs Benedict and the Smoked Salmon Benedict. The food was very well prepared. The eggs benedict potatoes were delicious; the salad was good and it was a full plate of wonderful food. The decor was very nice. The servers were very attentive, but not intrusive. I'm often so disappointed. I could not have been happier at Home Plate and recommend the restaurant highly.
