We had a great lunch here! Cool atmosphere and great service! I got a pulled pork platter and she got a slider. We shared some. Wings and they were delicious! The Alabama white sauce is really good! Everything was great ! A bunch of sauce selections made it even better! They have a full bar as well if you need a cool one.

Went to this particular location on a Friday night. Definitely a college aged vibe. Our wait wasn’t long (about 25 minutes for 6 people,) and there’s an outside bar while you wait. The chicken salad sliders were amazing!! The ribs were also wonderful! Their signature drink, the “Game Changer,” was everything I was promised it would be! I’ll definitely add this place to my list of favorites!

Excellent BBQ. Loved having the different sauces handy on the table rather than having to choose just one or two! The fried pork ribs were a special and my god they were the best thing I ate all day. The pulled pork platter with baked beans and Mac and cheese was also very good, finished off with a banana pudding and I left there so full and happy.

This place was amazing, we are from Ohio & had the best service. The food was delicious & had awesome flavor. Would love to go back

The carnita tacos are life changing! We went back a couple days later and I had to get them again. Amazing flavors! Also get a game changer drink. So good. This will be one of our spots now.

While on a guy's trip, we went to the Home Team on Sullivan's Island to watch college football, drink, and eat BBQ. This is one of my good friend's favorite restaurants and I also love this place. They have an impressive selection of craft beer as well as a full bar. If you want to drink, you need to order a Game Changer. It is a frozen drink with rum, orange & pineapple juice, and cream of coconut with a dash of nutmeg. This is a fantastic drink. You can even add a floater, which is a shot of liquor on top. We were a party of 7, so we ordered a bunch of appetizers, including the smoked chicken wings, BBQ nachos, pork cracklins with pimento cheese, and the Tots. They were all so good. The wings are cooked perfectly and are some of the best wings I have ever had. For dinner, I had the ribs with a side a chili and mac & cheese. I enjoyed all of it. The Home Team is a great restaurant and sports bar. I wished they had this restaurant where I live, as I would be here all of the time. The food, drinks, and service are remarkable, and I highly recommend the Home Team.

Their BBQ was fantastic.. the nachos were very tasty and filling - probably enough for a meal alone.. lots of TVs to watch the game.. and great sweat tea, too..!

High energy- quality bbq and great service. Fun place to watch a game too. We caught a UNC basketball game - local Carolina fans in the house. Highly recommend this place any time of of day. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👏🏽🐺 Wings are incredible and they have several sauces on the table.

We went to Home Team in Sullivan's Island for the first time to meet up with my girlfriend's college buddy, and we couldn't have picked a better spot. The place has a fun, busy vibe that immediately draws you in. Our friend greeted us with two "Game Changers," which definitely kickstarted the buzz--highly recommend trying them if you haven't! We were told the wings were a must-try, and they did not disappoint. Perfectly crisp, with a delicious dry rub, and super meaty--easily some of the best wings we've had in a long time. But honestly, the only thing better than the wings was the overall hang. The service was friendly and accommodating, even with our drunk friend dapping up the bartender every five seconds. This is the kind of place where you can grab a drink with friends, enjoy great food, and have an all-around good time. We'll definitely be back!

Game. Changing. BBQ. This was my first stop in Charleston after a long afternoon of traveling. We sat at the window and had a lovely view of the patio lights. I ordered the Home Team Frozen Game Changer, which was so refreshing. A few of these could be dangerous! I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich with house pickles on the side. YUM! Their sauces sit at the table, and are more vinegar based and thin! This was different from what I'm used to, but I enjoyed the sweet red on my sandwich! I got a side of mac that was ooey gooey with some crispy cheese pieces mixed in. They had a allergy coded menu, which does make it easier to find allergy safe foods, but options were quite limited for my friend with Celiacs. She ordered pulled pork, no bun and no sides. Loved this spot, it is a must visit if you're in Charleston on Sullivans island!

My favorite beachy meal spot. Open air, good tunes, casual, great service, and so many winning menu choices. During Covid we started a new tradition of ordering ribs and smoked turkey for our feast, and never looked back. Spicy smooth bloodies, frozen sweet game changers, or local brews all recommended. Their wings have such good flavor and are never dry- they sell that dry rub! Plus this is a business that consistently gives back to the community. I'm consistently over ordering here so that I'm sure to have leftovers! No reservations so prepare to wait a little in peak times. Game times can make for a slower table turn.

**MUST TRY** - Fiery Don's Smoked Chicken Wings Top 3 wings I've ever taste. The Home Team BBQ Dry Rub used on the wings was savory & sweet! I regretted not getting the 12 wings. The Fried Ribs are also rubbed with the Dry Rub. Home Team BBQ will definitely be a must for us from now on whenever we're in town! ASK FOR EMILY. Excellent server and great suggestions.

Fantastic! Great Southern BBQ with warm and friendly staff. If you are looking for some good BBQ this is the place for you! BBQ and sides were fantastic. Salad choices weren't huge, but the salads were good for the vegetarian in our crowd.

This Sullivan's island BBQ is the real deal. Had just been to a few iconic Texas bbq places, and Home Team had well crafted food. We were greeted by an incredibly friendly hostess who seated us quickly, and the server immediately connected with us and took our drink order. Through out the evening, service was friendly and efficient offering up hot food and clearing the table in a timely way. Impressed by the execution of the restaurant. Started with the wings that were perfectly cooked - flavorful rub that was crusty with juicy meat. Alabama white sauce was a nice complement. For dinner, had the pulled pork that was exceptional, ribs that were bbq'd to perfection with a slight crust and moist. For me, brisket is a good gauge of bbq technical execution and it didn't disappoint. Good choice of beer and craft beer. Had a few nicely mixed drinks. My only issue - Why hadn't I stopped by for dinner sooner! Will be back soon!

I visited on a pretty crowded Thursday afternoon after a walk on the beach.Tourist season is upon us, so I was pretty happy to be able to snag two seats! The food is pretty good, barbeque. My brisket was tender and very juicy! The bartender was fantastic and suggested I try the Brunswick stew as a side. I wasn't the biggest fan, so I changed it to baked beans, but I appreciated his suggestion! The place is close to the beach and offers outdoor seating that even lets you feel the breeze of the coast. Its an enjoyable bbq experience! Definitely would go again!

You can never go wrong with the smoked wings here! This location is definitely busier than others during the summer, so expect a wait in the evenings and on weekends, buts it worth the wait! We sat outside with fans and it wasn't too hot, the service is always great.

My wife and I stopped in here for a very early dinner on a Monday and were immediately greeted and seated. The atmosphere is welcoming and just how I like BBQ places to be but they also have a fully stocked bar which is a bonus. We ordered a brisket platter with potato salad and chili for our sides and 6 wings along with a sweet tea. The food came out quickly, was very tasty, and our server was great. The brisket with the mustard and red sauce was great so were the wings and potato salad, the chili was good, but I'd try something different. I got a banana pudding to go, but as of writing this I haven't eaten it yet :)

Super good and great service! My hubby and I really liked the atmosphere we settled on splitting something and I am glad we did since the portions were huge. We landed on the brisket chili, and the potato salad. My hubby said he was not very impressed with the banana pudding. It didn't look all that great either I had a bite. It was OK but the food was amazing. The potato salad was made perfectly. The brisket was cooked. Also very good. They had a bunch of different flavors of barbecue sauce to try including what is my Charleston South Carolina favorite mustard Yes mustard. We loved the vibe and will definitely be back!!

Second time here and was just as good as the first time. Sat inside the ambiance is nice has a big bar with TVs high and low top tables. Our server was great and funny. We got the bbq platter and was enough food for 6 people. The wings were my favorite. We got macaroni and cheese , baked beans ,cucumber salad and potato salad all were delicious. This place never disappoints. Just wish the tables were bigger my family had no room with all the food and plates .

We stopped here on our way into Charleston one afternoon. We sat outside, which was perfect on a beautiful afternoon. The service was good and we were well taken care of. All the menu items we ordered were very good and we were happy with our selections. The mac & cheese side was a bit spicy for my kids.

Best coleslaw we've found! The food was amazing and the staff was great they weren't that busy so there was no wait the price was pricey two sliders come out to $14. The atmosphere was nice it seems like a great place to go and watch a game.

Solid BBQ option when you're in/around isle of palms. We carried out the turkey, brisket, and pulled pork for a family trip and the whole family had great things to say. Food was ready in no time when we called it in and definitely maintained its quality in the 20 minutes it took us to get home and eat it. Definitely worth a look when you're in the area and looking for a solid BBQ option.

It was a Saturday afternoon and the joint was crazy business. We only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table for two. The staff at the host stand were very friendly and helpful. Our server, Paige S., was extremely pleasant and helpful. She checked in on us and offered suggestions. The reason this review did not rate a 5 star is the BBQ (brisket and pulled pork) while tasty, I have had better. If I were in this area again, however, I would definitely return because of the staff and outstanding service.

I absolutely love this place! Always busy but such a fun spot to meet up with friends! A game changer is a must if you come here! The pork rinds and pimento cheese go great with said GC! Wings are pretty phenomenal too!

Last night my bf and I were near the area and decided to go to Home Team. My all time favorite bbq in Charleston is Home Team and we've been to this location a couple times before. We got there around 8:46 and the hostess told us it would be a 15 minute wait and asked us our phone number. Another team member suddenly walked by and said "we're not seating anyone else." Which I found strange since this location closes at 12. Then the hostess told us, "sorry we're not seating anyone else." Very confused and disappointed we left and decided to grab food across the street. We were seated outside. Within 15 minutes of being outside we saw more people go into Home Team and be seated immediately. I really don't understand what happened and why we were turned away but I'm very disappointed. Home Team is the bbq I take my friends to when they are visiting out of town. I hope this is addressed and sadly I will not be back to this location.

We've been going to Home Team for a decade and have always enjoyed the combo platters so we don't have to choose just one meat. When with the boys, we usually go with The Board so we can "have it all." Solid wings, tasty ribs, moist pork, and a HUGE sauce selection. We've been to all the locations and have to say that we've been most (overall) impressed with the West Ashley service, food, taste, and efficiency. The Sullivan's HT gets busy so put your name in right away, grab a Gamechanger, wait patiently for your table, then put your order in RIGHT away. Servers are always friendly; however, the Sullivan's servers get overwhelmed with the crowds and "tight" dining room layout. We look forward to our next Station 22 beach run, big Board, and cold drinks.

Randomly passed by this place and decided we had to go! The staff was super friendly and helpful in helping us select drinks! We got the iced/slushy coffee, it was tasty and not to strong. They had awesome shirts for sale too, make sure you check those out! Food: everything on the menu looked great and the restaurant smelled like delicious bbq, but we were only stopping in for a snack, so we got the wings (perfectly cooked and seasoned), the nachos with polluted pork, and pimento cheese with fried pork skin. Everything was delicious, there were so many delicious flavors, I especially liked trying all of the sauces on the table, they were all great and very unique! I think my favorite was the orange Carolina sauce! Home team bbq is right near many other restaurants and shops, there was limited free parking out front, there may be additional parking around the corner. It's on the way to Ft. Moultrie and the beach as well. We'd recommend checking this place out!

Home Team is amazing! We did a large carry out order for 12 people without any issues. All of the food was amazing. We will def be back when we're back in town.

Overall: We'll definitely be back for more delicious BBQ from the Sullivan's Home Team! The good: All the meats we've had there are delicious, from pulled pork to the wings, or my personal favorite the brisket sandwich. You can tell that they put the time and effort into all of their dishes. Sides are amazing as well, with favorites like mac and cheese, baked beans, or hash and rice. Their outdoor seating isn't huge but luckily we've able to sit there every time we visit. Live music on one the Friday nights we were there, and service is always friendly and attentive. Decent sized menu and specials, including plenty of drink options. The not-so-good: Crowded and loud. Sauces could use a bit more variance, but that's a bit of a nitpick. On one occasion they ran out of several menu items. Food/drink:9/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 9/10

I had never been to this location before, the food is just as good as downtown which is great! The staff is friendly and attentive which is huge for such a busy restaurant. It's a great place to grab food before or after the beach. It will be very busy so be prepared to wait a little. The inside is much smaller than downtown and I felt squished into our tall table of 6. I couldnt really move and definitly not go to the bathroom without climbing over our chairs.

The food was good, but I didn't find a sauce that I loved. It's a small spot but with lots of seating. The parking situation is scarce and we literally hs traffic waiting on us to park. There's like 10 spots out front for like 8 businesses for free. Other parking requires a little walk. I got the park plate with mac and cheese (yum!) and brunswick stew which tastes like beef stew. I couldn't find a sauce that I loved but they all taste like vinegar and the mustard is good but wouldn't put on all meat.

The lines is long. Try Poe's for a snack while you wait on the text. Home Town is great from the sliders to the plates to the sauces...YUM! Amazing BBQ!

Food yummy. But it's veeeeeeeeeerry busy and loud inside. My voice was so tired because I was almost screaming to my friends. The server kinda spilled a little bit of food on our table, but I guess it's because she was so busy. The lights are kinda dim so you can't really read the menu either. If you want a chill vibe, go to a different place. But if you want that young spirit near the beach, this is the right place for you.

We are staying in IOP for 3 weeks. Thus far, this restaurant is my favorite. We had pull pork and brisket platters - staples of any bbq menu - and it did not disappoint. Our sides were slaw, beans, Mac & cheese. Just the basics done well. Loved the selection of sauces. Perfect, relaxed vibe. Great service. Would be a good place to watch a game.

Go here. Came with our group of 6 - included 2 young kids and a very picky adult. Everyone was happy and left full. Outstanding BBQ. Genuine hospitality. Fair prices for ample portions.

Our first time visiting Charleston and we stayed at the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina. Someone advised that for a beach day we visit Sullivan's Island and we were not disappointed one bit! Especially when we stopped in for a snack at Home Team. The service was quick and our server knowledgeable. We ordered two sliders (one brisket and one pulled pork) and both were absolutely delicious. My favorite was the pork with the Sweet Red Sauce on it. The crunchy coleslaw just helped pull the sweetness right out of each bite. We put the Spicy Red Sauce on the brisket and that was also a perfect bite. We ordered some chips and queso also and it was pretty darn good. Cheers!

I'm from Missouri, lived in Charleston for a year for work and this is hands down my favorite bbq, and dare I say favorite restaurant of all time. The vibes are immaculate, the game changer (frozen alcoholic drink) lives up to its name and the food is phenomenal. We used to come here every weekend. Sullivan's island is definitely the best location. Make sure you order a game changer or two (get the bigger size, it's only $2 more and twice the size) and the pulled pork nachos with queso. You won't regret it!

Initially got take out catering for our baseball families during a spring break tournament . It was recommended by our team mom last year. Pulled pork, brisket and sides was fantastic!! Families returned for drinks and food during the week. Never disappointed! Place was always packed but consistently had great service! Highly recommended for food, catering or just some drinks!

This is literally the worst service, and the rudest staff I've ever encountered at any place in the entire world. Avoid it all costs. Wish zero stars was an option.

Food: platter- plenty of food for 6 people if you add on the full rack of ribs and wings. Excellent, only complaint which is a personal complaint is I enjoy the membrane off of the ribs. Turkey is ok. Everything else was delicious especially the Mac and cheese! Server was tentative and very nice! Atmosphere is a dark, cool vibe with plenty of TVs. Other issue was I wish the tables were wider. Cramming all of the food is tough. Will come back!

Was visiting a buddy on Sullivans Island and he brought us to this delightful establishment. Home Team featured a packed crowd on a Saturday night but it still didn't feel claustrophobic at all. (You can see why this place is in such high demand!!) I was on edge coming here as I have visited a home team before and it didn't hit the spot, but let me just say this place completely overthrew those expectations. We had a great hostess/waitress and a great experience with our time and food there. Was reconnecting with some buddies and even with a packed house they managed to serve the food for our table of 4 quite fast. I ordered the pulled pork platter as I was feigning for some meat and it was the PERFECT texture, softness, and quality. I have not had pulled pork this good in years and after the scrumptious meal we wrapped up our time at Home Team! I loved how each table gets 5 different sauce bottles so you can try tons of different ways to eat your food! This little detail goes so far and makes the experience that much more enjoyable. Not to mention I really appreciated their payment system too! The waiters/waitresses bring out a little doodad where you can pay right then and there so they don't have to run to and from the kitchen to bring back your checks. They totally expedited the process for food service and are above capable of handling a full house. Food and service was definitely worth the price along with a generous tip to the staff for a great time! No complaints, thanks Home Team BBQ!!

I was so excited to have BBQ and it's close by. The service was great on a busy evening. The ambience is cosy but basic. I picked up takeout last week. I ordered the ribs, Mac n cheese and potato salad. The ribs were pretty good, potato salad was pretty average but the Mac and cheese was just not right. It didn't seem to have much cheese and it wasn't creamy but rather a thick lump that was not good. After eating 1/3 of the container I ended up throwing it out. I'll try a sandwich the next time and perhaps just skip the sides.

Love this BBQ spot! Its always packed when we are there but after a short wait we got seated. All our food and drinks were really good. The service was great for how busy they were too. Looking forward ti getting back.

The burger was really good. I can only come to home team when I'm in the mood for loud and crowded. This bar always has a wait and is always packed. Very peopley. But the food is good, so sometimes it's worth the noise.

Bonus comes a crispy cracklin.4.5 stars - Salad: I got brisket and it was huge slices of tender meat paired with a nice salad with real lettuce (bit iceberg), cucumber, pepitas, and corn. 4.5 stars - Mac and cheese: pretty good rendition, thick and cheesy with a broiled cheese crust on top. 4 stars - Atmosphere: chill with outdoor seating it's ice - Service super friendly chatty and welcoming Lowlights: - Parking can be an issue with only few street spots and tiny pay lot which we couldn't get the app to work to pay. Excited for delicious bbq when in the area and would return--to this or other locations.

Wings, nachos, Mac and cheese bites, ribs and drinks were all on point. Stays on a wait, but gets you in and out efficiently. Food is worth the wait.

Home team is an authentic bbq place with a great atmosphere. They have a signature drink called the game changer and it sure is that. It's delicious and fresh. The sauces for their food are phenomenal

Home Team BBQ, located in the heart of Sullivan's Island, is home to delicious and flavorful BBQ. The outdoor seating allows for a casual, laid-back experience while being able to enjoy the fresh air and cool vibe from the small downtown atmosphere. For an appetizer, we ordered the Queso (Corn Salsa Verde, Cotija and BBQ Tortilla Chips). The smoked BBQ flavor in the chips made for a different, yet great tasting dish. My wife ordered the Smoked Turkey Wrap (White Bean Purée, Guacamole, Ancho-Pepita, Salsa, Greens, Cabbage, Cilantro, Parsley, Lemon, Chimichurri, Fresh Jalapeño on a Flour Tortilla) with a side of the Mac & Cheese. I went with the Full Rack (St. Louis Cut Ribs, House Pickles, Pickled Onion and a King's Hawaiian Roll) with a side of Mac & Cheese and Collard Greens. Everything was beautifully presented and packed with fresh ingredients, the right amount of spices/seasonings; and it all tasted great! My only recommendation would be to include more ribs - when ordering a full rack, I like to see more than 5/6 bones. All-in-all, the location and atmosphere, along with the great tasting food, make Home Team BBQ worth a try. Looking forwarding to another visit in the future.

This is a great location and I'm sure it gets plenty of business due to its location. The service was the slowest I have ever experienced. The food was overpriced and the food was just ok. I have never been to a barbeque place that serves Hawaiian rolls with the meal. I would not return as there are so many other options.

We went with friends to the location in Sullivan's island last night and we were not disappointed. Best Brisket east of Texas and others had the half chicken, pulled pork and salad with smoked turkey. Sides of Collards, Baked Beans and Mac-n-Cheese were also very good. All were delighted with their meals.

This location, along with downtown, is the perfect spot to stop with friends and order some appetizers and drinks. I am obsessed with their chicken cracklins! And their frozen Irish coffee and "game changer" drinks are amazing but dangerous. We definitely have a good time that's hard to remember when we come here. If you're looking for good food and a good atmosphere I would definitely recommend!

Great bbq in an even better location. Amazing wings, love the slightly sweet dry rub coupled with Alabama white sauce. Brisket is usually great (when available). Pulled pork always a solid option and awesome sauce choices (I like mustard and hot vinegar).
