"Homeland, chef Peter Gordon’s ‘food embassy for Aotearoa and the Pacific’ located in the waterfront Wynyard Quarter, offers dishes like creamed paua from the Chatham Islands and pork belly cooked in the traditional hāngī style. Kūmara is wood roasted and served with kawakawa pesto."

"Part cooking school, part restaurant, and part food embassy for Aotearoa and the Pacific, Homeland is chef Peter Gordon’s (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Kuri) welcome return after years abroad in London. The cooking school bridges the gap between consumers and small producers, educating the general public on how to use lesser-known cuts and other sustainable practices around kai (food). Whether you sit in for a cooking class about making fish heads into fragrant curry or stop by quickly to grab one of Gordon’s cult-favorite cheese scones, there are many ways to experience the multipurpose space. Find a spot out on the deck for lunch among the plants with a bowl of Gordon’s famous Turkish eggs. — HE" - Hillary Eaton, Leisha Jones

I’m happy that I come for breakfast before heading home. Recommend to come with few friends as they have interesting menu so you can share to try more from the menu. I’m happy with my Turkish egg. I love eggs and yogurt but never think that Turkish eggs, whipped garlic yogurt, chilli butter is a good combination but it works. It serve with a slice of sourdough. Recommend to share by two, I finish it by myself tho. My boyfriend ordered Smoked Salmon, soft boiled egg with yuzu hummus. The salmon taste so good and the whole plate is nicely presented. Last but not least the cheese scones is their signature too. Very crispy outside and butterfly soft inside. Delicious, I asked for strawberry jam too. There are smoothies and fancy drinks menu that I can’t try it all. But I’ll definitely come again next time to try more from the breakfast menu, brunch and dinner.

Food was amazing, the views out over the water and harbour bridge were top notch and the service was great. Will absolutely be coming back. We had sticky lamb ribs and pigs head croquettes to start, steak for mains and a beautiful soft and creamy cheesecake for dessert. The peach cocktails were a hit too!

A spacious restaurant located next to the waterfront with a stunning view. It has a spacious and bright indoor seating space as well as a lovely courtyard. Friendly staff and quick service. Food was excellent, amazing flavours. My favourites were the lamb ribs, paua ciabatta, and the blue cheese beetroot.

Went to Homeland for a birthday celebration. There were 13 of us, including 5 kids. Adults were on a set menu, 3 mains were lamb, fish and eggplant. They were all delicious. Kids enjoyed their meals too. The service was great and the atmosphere too. Definitely recommend and I will go back

Loved the relaxed vibe and beautiful setting, and the food. The taco and the lamb were the stars for us, but everything tasted delicious. Our server seemed a bit new, which may be why our order wasn't taken for awhile, but the food was worth the wait.

Overall it was a very good experience. Service was excellent. When my friend sent a dish back the staff were so obliging and friendly. Aside from a slight issue with one of our mains, the food was very good. The desserts were a particular highlight.

Homeland is such a lovely, calming space. It’s one of those restaurants that is quiet enough to hear your friends talk but lively enough to feel like you’re part of something exciting, with that low hum of other conversations going on around you. The ambience is perfect and the staff so friendly. I was also impressed by the wealth of delicious & unique cocktails (including a mango lassi one & a kimchi Bloody Mary!) and the wide variety of vegetarian & vegan options. Everything pictured is vegetarian & some of it vegan! And I love how many Aotearoa / NZ specific ingredients (like kawakawa) are utilized so beautifully. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone :)

Amazing coffee and cheese scone! would recommend booking in advance as on weekend they can get very busy, lucky to get a table without booking the other day. had salmon dish and creamed paua, the price is def higher for the portion you get but the quality and taste makes up for it. and the coffee is def the best in Auckland imo, I would come back even just for a cup of coffee and cheese scone. They are also pet friendly, so easy to take your dog walking around marina afterwards
