"Located in Beacon Hill, this wood-fired restaurant suffered a fire on May 31 that appears to have started in the building’s duct system; staff detected a plastic-y, toxic burning smell and the exhaust hood made an unusual noise, prompting staff or upstairs tenants to call the fire department, whose quick response prevented far worse damage. The bathroom and portions of the ceiling were badly burned and the ducts will need to be replaced, though the dining room and bar areas were largely untouched. The owners expect a temporary closure—optimistically two weeks but possibly up to a month—and have begun remediation to remove particulates and check for mold.
