Service was amazing, both the girls working were so kind and funny. The coffee was amazing, not too sweet not too bitter. The cinnamon coffee cake was out of this world, best dessert i’ve ever eaten. I highly recommend coming to Homers Coffee House. Not one crumb left.

Google
This is a wonderful place to enjoy a cup of coffee, there is something about this places that makes it so special. I can sit there and feel at peace doing absolutely nothing or working on my computer, also they have a printer available for customers if they need to print something out, the atmosphere here is so relaxing I just want to sit there and drink coffee. Also I love their protein balls and their frozen Drinks!

Coffee, Tea, Hot chocolate great. Can be a but noisy so check to see if back room is open. Great vibe back there. Parking can be a challenge.

I always stop into this coffee shop anytime I travel through the KC area. It is such an incredibly special place for me and has been for almost 15 years now.

I was fortunate enough to meet to nice young ladies who took my order and we actually experimented with a new shake that came into my head. It consisted of an espresso brownie and their like half and half with ice and chocolate syrup and I called it the Tokyo brownie shake or something but I was highly impressed by their open mindedness. And it was absolutely quality! 👌👌👌

Ordered a Cortado and was greeted with one of the worst cups of “coffee” I’ve had in the past 20 years. First of all the Cortado which is supposed to be a shot of espresso and 1-2oz of milk was not even close to that. It was served in an 8oz coffee mug and filled to the brim with the most hot and burned milk you can imagine. The espresso also was not extracted correctly as it was extremely bitter. The staff there seemed more interested in being on their phones than serving a good cup of coffee. Really disappointed in the lack of basic coffee making skills. I think this is permanently off my list of shops to ever go to again. I should say I previously went here a few years ago and had an awful drip coffee and have avoided this place since. But when Parisi was completely full yesterday I was forced here since I had a meeting with someone.

Google
I really mean it this time, this might be the best coffee in Overland Park. I had the Thai Supreme (it has sweetened condensed milk) and my friend had the Angel Caramello (white chocolate and caramel). Both were amazing, but I think the Thai Supreme is the winner for me. Although the place was starting to get busy, the 2 guys behind the counter were keeping up with the orders while maintaining a fun and friendly attitude. No one had to wait more than a couple minutes for their order. The place was clean, including the bathroom, which had a beautiful smelling deodorizer. They have a great comfortable seating area with a nice atmosphere to talk, read, or do some work on the laptop. I'm glad I stumbled upon this place. I will definitely be going back for some more Thai Supreme coffee.

Employees were very welcoming and nice. Had one of the best cinnamon roll coffee cakes I’ve ever had. So many coffee options and very quick service! Definitely recommend and will be coming back regularly!!

Yelp
My favorite coffee spot of many to choose from in old OP. They serve Marcell coffee, a local roaster that's delicious. Lots of fun espresso drinks. A must try in the summer is their coconut dream cold brew. A regular cold brew coffee with coconut milk and coconut cold foam on top. Not too sweet - a great flavor profile that captures all the elements that matter in a well blended coffee drink. You know you've found a good coffee spot when the drinks are equally good cold or hot. The Mexican mocha is a great winter pick, as is their basic drip coffee - nothing fancy needed. The only lost star is their pastries. Not much to choose from and they are "meh" at best. I can't comment on their food because I typically only go for a morning coffee after a walk through the farmers market. Love that they have live music at select times, and they often bring in small arts and crafts vendors to support the local community. Can't go wrong with a stop at Homers. Spot on coffee, comfortable and spacious atmosphere, great location. Well done Homers!

Yelp
Delicious. Top 3 caramel latte in KC. Cute little small town atmosphere and friendly staff

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop in downtown Overland Park. I hopped in for coffee and a pastry this Sunday morning. I absolutely loved the taste of their espresso! I got the Mocha which was perfectly selectable. I was a bit hungry so I also grabbed the quiche. They had three homemade quiches one of which was vegan. I opted for the bacon one personally. It was good! It had a strong garlic taste. The only downfall was that it was a bit cold in the center. The texture was great though. The baristas were friendly and the music was perfect. The seating was open but there was a lot of it. Had a great experience and will be back soon!

Yelp
One of my fav coffee places in Overland Park (I think it's better than all the ones in the crossroads too). They have tons of flavor options: I usually go with a toffee cappuccino or an iced toffee latte, depending on the weather! they also have live music frequently, so check their Instagram for any upcoming dates--it's a great vibe! Workers are always very nice too.

Yelp
Checked in to Homer this morning for a vanilla latte. Ended up getting their "coconut dream cold brew" Decent injection of coconut flavor into the cold brew. Not too bitter not too sweet. I'd say, "Perfect balance"

Yelp
We had not been in Homer's for quite some time and we really enjoyed our visit. Homer's is spacious and comfortable and has a relaxing quiet atmosphere. We really enjoyed the seating that wraps around 2 sides of the building. They have good quality coffee and tea and we each enjoyed a treat and I was happy that they had gluten free options. I also like that a portion of their proceeds help with a variety of local ministries to help various communities. I liked that they had a hygiene pantry outside for anyone that needed an item. The service was friendly and good. We will be back!
google avatar

Hannah R.

Yelp
Quick & delicious coffee. There's a large sitting area for working & hanging out. Priced fairly. 2 20oz coffees were around $13.
google avatar

Natalie S.

Yelp
Seem to be a lot of diverse people in the cafe so that is a plus for me. I got a sandwich that was almost $10 and super overpriced. I was like that's ok because I am going to do my work here. Then I ask for the wifi, and then I tell them it's not working. They act shocked and say they lost power an hour ago. I feel like if you see someone walking into your coffee shop alone with a laptop, you should tell them before they order if the internet is down. I didn't come for your sandwiches! Anyways they tried to reset the router and it didn't work so I ate my sandwich and left. Now I still need to find a place to do some work. I probably won't be back if I can help it.

Yelp
Great spot in downtown OP. Plenty of seating, live events every so often. Have some good seasonal drink options. Would come again Vegan friendly

Yelp
A staple in the area for many years, feels like you're back in 2005. Not the spot for true coffee snobs or a streamlined coffee shop atmosphere, but a perfectly acceptable location to get work done or meet a friend. Can't speak to the sandwiches or food but the chai latte was mediocre at best
google avatar

Natalie H.

Yelp
I visited Homer's today to grab an iced vanilla latte while I was in Downtown Overland Park. The service was very friendly and very quick. There is LOTS of seating inside and some seating outside. The atmosphere is very chill, perfect for a working remote situation or reading. Most of the seating is tables, but there are some comfy chairs scattered throughout. I'd highly recommend Homer's Coffee House if you're in the Downtown Overland Park area.

Yelp
If you've been in downtown OP recently, then you know things are rapidly changing. But there are still anchors amidst all of the hubbub, and Homer's is one of those mainstays adrift in the controlled chaos. Homer's offers a nice coffeehouse that is doing artisanal coffee drinks and some darn good baked yummies. There is plenty of space to settle in and read or work while you enjoy your coffee or tea, and the environment offers sidewalk seating as well for nice days. The coffee itself is pretty good, a robust house blend, or they offer a bean of the day, such as Guatemalan. My foodie sidekick sampled their Thai Supreme, a breve with sweetened condensed milk, and it registered pretty well. Maybe a touch too milky, but if you love a Vietnamese coffee, then this might be your jam. I had to sample the quiche, which was a summer tomato & mozzarella offering, and it was smashingly delish! Perfectly fluffy and not overdone, just the right alternative to some of their other baked goods. Pro tip: try the handmade Pop-tarts, which are always outstanding. The baristas are always exceptionally friendly and when there is local music on stage, they speak up for those of us who can't focus well even in peace times. Parking is kind of first-come, first-served, but it's always within a short amount of steps. Pricing may be a bit higher than some spots, but the value is there. Great local biz offering a good menu top to bottom with a comfortable setting will always bring me back.

Yelp
Stopped by for the first time after visiting the farmers market. The shop is cute and the staff was friendly. I got a seasonal cold brew with coconut vanilla "cold foam". It tasted okay, but not great. The "cold foam" was some barely frothed milk. I may give them a try again when I'm in the area, but it's not one of the coffee shops I will seek out.

Yelp
I wanted food that wasn't fast food came here and the customer service was amazing super sweet! I didn't get the guys name who helped me but he was amazing the food was great! I definitely recommend everything is super affordable very friendly staff!

Yelp
Labor Day weekend, I was in town for the Irish fest, and I wanted to stop here but didn't manage to make it. So, the next time I was in town, this was top on my list. It just so happened that there was a fall festival in the neighborhood on the day, so that made parking an adventure. I had the Angel Caramello, and let me just say, highly recommended! If I wasn't afraid of getting towed (again, it was an iffy parking situation the day I visited), I probably would have hung out here for awhile. Very inviting! Will definitely stop by again sometime.

Yelp
My first time at this coffeeshop, in old Town Overland Park. Room and comfortable. Smooth, generous cup of latte in a porcelain. The Hymnuts jazz band was playing that night. They are astounding. The crowd was lit up with excitement. I already have friends wanting to go back with me.

Yelp
One of my favorite Kc coffee spots I've tried recently. The March menu was amazing. I love anything cereal related so the lucky charms latte and rice crispy treat were sooooo good. Highly recommend the Carmel macchiato as well. Lots of seating and easy parking.

Yelp
Are used to live near homers and stop in all the time. Now I'm not so close, but stop in whenever I'm in the area. It's a pleasant environment with the coffee drinks you'd expect, and a tasty Mexican mocha. On the tables, and some comfortable couches and chairs. The staff are always friendly. Love this place.

Yelp
I was headed to the amazing Overland Park Farmer's Market and found street parking near Homer's. I decided to pop in for a few reasons: I hadn't ever been in before, The Wild Way hasn't come to the market this year, and last time I came to the market there was one stand selling cold Starbucks coffee out of jugs. As I walked around with my iced coffee later, I discovered others had noticed the coffee gap at the market and there was now a glut of stands selling lattes and coffee. I digress. My reasoning aside, I decided to check out this spot. As I walked in, it was bright, busy, and there were a surprising number of people working or studying for 9a on a Saturday morning. The place was really big, and had cool options like a printer you could use. The staff was super friendly. I tried the quiche for breakfast. They reheated it in a toaster oven or something similar looking and when I started to eat it, it was lukewarm. It was super tasty despite the temperature. Although Homer's is big and has a ton of seating, I struggled to find a clean table, and ended up having to wipe a table down myself with some napkins. Overall, a great coffee shop with friendly staff, plentiful seating, good coffee, and good food.

Yelp
A classic tradition of coffee and teas, but offer gluten-free cookies. Inclusion to all based on ethically and morally sourced standards and creative thought is really doing God's work. It is a safe place to relax and unwind while the staff stays up-to-date and transparent to the inter-personal relationships of its customers and surrounding businesses. I have had the gluten-free cookie and it was nutritious. I wish them well, God bless!
google avatar

Julia M.

Yelp
I stopped in to grab a quick coffee before hitting the road, so I didn't get to enjoy Homer's quite as much - but inside it is quiet, clean, and very cozy. The perfect spot to meet up with friends or get some work done! I'll definitely come back to meet friends. My cold brew was good - not the best coffee I've ever had, but a solid, reliable option for a caffeine fix. Next time I'm trying one of the delicious looking muffins!
google avatar

Allison N.

Yelp
Not anything too crazy, but had lots of open seating on a busy Saturday morning. Short wait, and overall friendly staff.
google avatar

Cruz M.

Yelp
Their mocha hazelnut freeze is perfection and the espresso brownie is addictive. I appreciate their late hours.
google avatar

Dena N.

Yelp
I have lived in the area for over 15 years and this was the first time trying Homers. I spent about $14 for a 20 oz cold brew, 20 oz fruit smoothie and a chocolate chip muffin. My son disliked the muffin and said it tasted like cardboard. I had a bite and it was quite dry but the most disappointing part was my cold brew coffee. It was so bitter I couldn't drink it. I choked down less than a third of it before throwing the rest out. My daughter had the fruit smoothie and it wasn't anything spectacular. Will definitely not be going back.
google avatar

Kari P.

Yelp
First time at Homer's and I can't wait to go back. Lots of seating, friendly staff and delicious quiche. If you're headed to Downtown OP, this is a must.
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
Homer's is a cute little spot, it reminds me of home. Staff was very friendly. I believe on Friday nights they have live music- I would call to make sure though. We stopped by on our way to dinner-really enjoyed the music. I ordered hot chocolate- it was okay. They have a very tiny parking lot but street parking is also available- both are free.

Kelly G.

Yelp
Super quaint. Off Metcalf & 80th with parking! Many choices for coffee and not anymore expensive then Starbucks, but MUCH better. I purchased the medium Angel Caramello and my other half got the large Maple Cinnamon Latte. Both drinks came to around $10-11. We were walked through the process with it being our first time in. I was asked what type of milk in my coffee and I'm glad I was (I am not able to have high fat content at the moment). I would highly recommend stopping in even if you just grab and go. They also have a lot of wonderful looking pastries and snacks as well as a small selection of sandwiches. I will be returning once I am allowed to eat a better selection of food.
google avatar

Stephen W.

Yelp
Amazing spot in downtown OP! Support local! These guys have been at the forefront of the area, staying true to who they are as a brand. Thai Supreme on ice is for sure my favorite. Head down and grab a cup!
google avatar

Susan C.

Yelp
Cute place and lots of comfortable seating. The tomato mozzarella quiche was amazing. The protein balls were also good. They had fruit and yogurt cups, scones, muffins and special bread. Coffee was smooth and not too bitter. Good place for conversation with a friend or studying. Lots of parking nearby but you have to contend with customers at other businesses.

Hugh J.

Yelp
Moved back to kc after several years away and downtown Overland Park is much different so I had trouble finding this place. Well I wish this was the worst part of my experience but unfortunately it wasn't. I ordered a sandwich around 530pm and I was told by the rude counter person that they stop serving at 2pm. What kind of place advertises food but stops serving so early? They should have a sign at least. I got a smoothie and it was fine I suppose but I went to the bathroom and there was someone pleasuring themselves in there! When I told the counter person they just laughed! Never coming here again
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Seen this place many times but never been in. Had a cup of coffee and it was great. One of the better "house" coffees I've had. Great menu items and the atmosphere was great. Got packed so it's obviously a great place. I will try again. They also do live music.
google avatar

Anna G.

Yelp
New vegan donuts! Heard a young man was making them. So delectable! Good treat for the soul. Wonderful baristas there! Protect them! Wear your mask!

Yelp
Have made several visits here over the years, even dating back to my pre-Yelp days which is probably 10 years ago. Stopped in today to get a flat white for the drive home... no way I'm popping in with a laptop these days and sucking wireless and joe without a mask on. And yet (unrelated to this review of course), I counted 7 people doing just that. Good grief. An espresso drink to go is rarely a pretty thing. Not looking for any latte art, just taste. Found the temperature well under my liking, the roast kind of on the lighter side, possibly their choice. Bottom line: a cup that could be pure goodness but didn't live up to my expectation. Good enough, not great. The interior, as observed by others, could use a fresh update in comparison to most venues billing themselves as an urban coffee shop. It's not that I'm down on the place, and don't get me wrong, I like that it's here, but just don't see it as the kind of place that's a destination to seek out. So 3 or 4 stars it'd be. I'm happy their average is 4, but end the end it's not the kind of atmosphere and coffee that gets me really excited about being a coffee drinker, so 3 it is.

Lindsay A.

Yelp
Place was cute for customers to meet up with one another, study, read, work, etc. Only complaint about the place was the service started vacuuming (vacuum was very noisy and rattling) while customers were here trying to enjoy the time here. Had to talk over the noise. Could have been done before opening. Other great food and nice people.
google avatar

Rod M.

Yelp
Great iced coffee, love the salted caramel bars (anything from the pastry case is good). I try to start every day with a Homer's fix.
google avatar

Zoila C.

Yelp
The coffee has been consistently delicious and the vibes are everything. Great space to enjoy the beautiful days to come!
google avatar

Joe P.

Yelp
We have been going To Homer's for years. Some of the smoothest strongest coffee in the game. We love going here, awesome chill vibe, great friendly people, sweets are great, coffee is strong, I really like the way they make vanilla lattes, way better then the chain coffee shops.
google avatar

Gianni D.

Yelp
Stopped in to get a coffee this morning, about 5 minutes ago and decided to leave before placing my order. Letting a 5 year old play a round at the checkout without a mask, touching every bag of coffee, picking his nose and taking his sunglasses off and putting them on things. sorry, but you can tell a customer to keep their kid in line or ask them to leave ‍
google avatar

A B.

Yelp
Probably the best coffee place in the KC metro to actually sit, chill, read, work, etc. The coffee has never let me down, either. This place may not be as cutting-edge/hip as some of the coffee places in downtown KC, but I mean that in a good way -- it's just friendly and unpretentious.
google avatar

Yelp
I come here almost every week for networking and coffee. There's a large back room that is usually open for meetings with plenty of seating and a TV with HDMI capabilities. I always order a mug of coffee because it comes with a free refill. Though I'll order a large latte when I fill up my punch card. Occasionally I'll change it up and order a mug of loose leaf tea (Kansas City's own Hugo Tea). Though there's not a large food selection, Homer's Coffee House does offer a diverse mix of healthy and indulgent snacks. From nutty oatmeal and fruit to overflowing muffins and giant cookies, I can always find something for breakfast. The quiche is good, too. Sometimes I'll stay for a sandwich and chips. So far everything I've eaten has been great. Side note: Don't believe what other reviewers say about parking. There is a small lot next to the coffee shop however there's a large parking lot across the street. You'll have to walk across the street but you need to walk more anyways. Bottom line: Homer's Coffee House is great for meeting people, having business meetings or getting your hustle on. The staff is friendly and the WiFi works (mostly).
google avatar

Sari C.

Yelp
Pretty average coffee shop in Downtown OP. I have been here for meetings as well as to just grab a coffee and go. Overall my experience has been good, nothing special or really note worthy. It always seems to be crowded with someone at every table. Parking can be a bit hard since the lot is really small so I usually park farther away and walk to avoid the traffic jams of turning into the lot. I am pretty sure there is a live band that performs here regularly but I haven't had the chance to check them out. It's a typical low-key coffee shop that gets the job done.
google avatar

Joe G.

Yelp
A Tasty way to start your day. WiFi is available to customers. Comfortable seating is located all over the place. Interesting staff tend to your every need.

Yelp
I think that Homer's is absolutely fantastic and is definitely in the running of my top 5 coffee shops in Kansas City. The two times I've been there, the baristas have been middle aged (I'm guessing in their 40's) but absolutely hilarious. Baristas have made me smile. Baristas have made me chuckle. But no one has made me laugh during the ordering process, while I am enjoying my drink, and as I was walking out the door. Today, I told the enthusiastic lady that I wanted to try something incredibly unique and creative. They immediately put on their game faces and said they would brew up any combination of flavors I wanted. Excellent. My mind started to formulate ideas. Needless to say, the drink I ended up getting wasn't all that creative. They shot down my idea of adding raspberry to their Coffee Toffee Freeze. I ended up getting a Blended Mango Mocha and a lemon poppy seed muffin. I was in mango bliss as I slurped my drink. I even went up to the counter before I left to thank them for the excellent drink.... That was when they admitted to trying it and hating it. I must have a crazy coffee pallet because I adored the blend. Anyway, after some intense discussion of whether or not my drink was delicious, they decided to name my creation after me. It is officially called "Sara's Mango Mocha Freeze." :D
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
My cappuccino tasted kind of fake, play Doh-y, it's hard to explain, unable to finish. My boyfriend's americano was more on the sour side, unable to finish. The women's bathroom was kind of gross, poop stained toilet bowl. Service by the cashier guy was good though!
google avatar

Matt P.

Yelp
Great local coffee spot!! Came here for the first time for a meeting and it quickly became one of my favorite places. They make a really good chai tea latte!! It's also a great spot to throw open the laptop and knock out some work. Can't wait to hold another meeting here!
google avatar

Justin S.

Yelp
Nice coffee shop . Lots of space and seating . Coffee was excellent - didn't eat , but the food looks great ! We will go back !

Mel F.

Yelp
It has been a part of downtown OP for 20 years and it is a cozy welcoming place. The coffee is fantastic and the staff are great. I'm so glad the live music on Friday and Saturday is back!
google avatar

Kathryn M.

Yelp
Hands down, my favorite coffee shop in the area! Homer's staff is unrivaled; they always greet us with big smiles and remember our names. I love all their coffee, but my favorite is the vanilla latte. Iced coffee, black coffee, and Americanos are very good, too. My husband loves the Mexican mocha. The food is great for a quick bite. The bagels are always a solid choice, and my husband loves the quiche and breakfast burrito. It's always a great spot to hang out, too, especially with the live music!
google avatar

Teresa M.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! I love swinging by to grab a quiche in the mornings when I didn't have time to make myself breakfast before going to work. I think the one thing that would bump this review to a five star is if they had larger sizes of drinks. Other than that I think it's a fantastic main stay in downtown Overland Park and they're doing a great job with social distancing.
