14 Delightful Dim Sum Restaurants in the Seattle Area - Eater Seattle

"Homestyle Dim Sum, formerly Duk Li, offers takeout Chinese pastries on one side of the restaurant and a dine-in area on the other. Its fried pork dumplings, often known as footballs, are not only huge, but are perfectly fried and offer a satisfying crunch. The baked, salted egg yolk custard bun stands out with a sweet, tender cookie crust on top." - Leonardo David Raymundo, Ryan Lee

The salted egg custard buns are amazing! We also enjoyed the cilantro shrimp dumplings, shu mai, and soup dumplings.

Google
I ordered the stuffed eggplant today 😋 Highly recommend them I've been eating at Homestyle for 5 years. I like the ready to go option some days and to sit down to order something new. The rice noodle options are tasty too!

Google
Not a fancy place but excellent dim sum at a affordable price. Good selection of all types of dishes. You order from a menu rather than carts like you might find at some dim sum establishments. I didn't miss the carts and the staff was very helpful.

Darlene Gorgonia

Google
Open bright and early at 7am for sit down and take out. This is my go-to for dim sum for the past 12 years.

Yiling Xu

Google
Probably the one of the most affordable dim sum place you can find in Chinatown. And delicious. Friendly staff. My favorite items are fried chive dumplings, cha siu bao, and chow mein

Jessie Shen

Google
We ordered Shaumai, pan fried pork bun and rice roll. All are of good taste! Shaumai is homemade. The bun smells very good. Dough is soft.

Pee-Bee Jay

Google
Dim Sum Shrimp: $5.50 Rice Roll Pork: $6.50 Top-notch dim sum. Enjoyed rice roll as well.

Danny Tram

Google
They offer a very delicious and tasteful homemade dim sum. The staff and owner are friendly and hospitable. The price is reasonable, but they do not have many parking lots when the restaurant gets busy

Yelp
I thought Seattle has good Cantonese food, including dim sum, so I decided to pick a place to try. Ended up picking Homestyle 来来点心 because it opens early and has HK milk tea. I have never seen a dim sum restaurant set up like this, but like nostalgia vibe. There is also a bakery counter for things like sweet sesame ball (煎堆), deep fried donut with pork (foot ball) (咸水角). I have no idea why Seattle area translates 咸水角 as foot ball but find it interesting. We sat down, a lady took our order, and brought over the dishes when they were ready. There was no dim sum cart or paper menu to mark off your orders. We ordered chicken feet (5/5), spare ribs (5/5), shui mai (5/5), beef rice roll (4.5/5), beef stomach (3.5/5), and iced HK milk tea (5/5). Everything was flavorful and cooked well, other than the beef stomach, which they have it more crunchy while I like the soft stewed texture more. The beef rice roll has larger portion than the usual size I see. My husband got a "foot ball" to go and liked it too. I am very happy that we tried this place, and left with a satisfied belly and leftovers.

Yelp
The food here is LEGIT. Taste is on point. Y'all know it's good when you see a lot of older Asians dining here as regulars, because that's a picky demographic to keep happy. Definitely go for dine-in over take-out, dim sum just doesn't keep as well. Things to order: Shrimp rice noodle rolls - great texture, soft and silky like they ought to be. Generous portions. Superior to the other rice roll options in most of Seattle. Har gow - nice and big, lots of shrimp. Good texture wrapper. Cilantro and shrimp dumpling - lots of cilantro! We loved how you could tell the cilantro was very fresh and flavorful. Chive and shrimp dumpling (pan fried) - VERY chive-forward, made in a wonton type wrapper. Sesame balls - had a fresh batch of these and they were PERFECT. Red bean paste was nice and smooth with no bean chunks. Chewy glutinous rice flour with the perfect crunchy outer shell. Sesame came out fragrant and toasty. Service is very warm and friendly, the aunties here make you feel like family. This is a mom & pop shop, so don't expect anything fancy from the ambiance, just come for the great food. Hands down my fave place to get dim sum in Seattle, it the best value bang for your buck in terms of deliciousness to price ratio. Everything is very affordable as well. :)

Yelp
Super good! Ran in to grab one last bite before hopping on the train and.. 1. Their dumplings are delish! Went with the chive shrimp steamed dumplings and no complaints. They're super generously sized and their chili oil is super yummy! 2. If you're just buying one thing, bring cash! I had to make a quick run to the ATM since I was under the limit (but it was going to be 10 minutes anyways so it worked out perfectly) 3. They're super nice! I'd originally planned on taking them to go but since my train got delayed they were super nice about letting me pull up a table and enjoy them there (and thanks again!)

Yelp
My last review of Homestyle Dim Sum was almost 5 years ago. A lot has happened since then with the pandemic, Asian Hate vandalisms and break-ins, increased homelessness and crime in the neighborhood, hyper-inflation, and now bird flu affecting cost and availability of their baked goods. Homestyle has largely stayed consistent and, luckily, afloat, throughout these past years. With the price of eggs, I noticed they sell much fewer pastries that require eggs. I still come for dim sum take-outs (vs. dine-in). The same ladies who worked here when this place opened replacing Duk Li Dum Sum are still here. The restaurant did two small maintenance type of remodeling, keeping this modest restaurant functional in an old building. I support mom and pop businesses. This is one of those businesses. I am writing this update mostly to post the latest menu photos. They don't have a website, so it is important to have these photos handy. For lunar new year, we ordered two noodle dishes, one beef, one shrimp, to supplement the home-cooking and the Chinese BBQ from King's. Their noodle dishes are the thin egg noodles that are commonly used in Cantonese style soy sauce noodles. The preparation is the same regardless of protein, stir fried with bean sprouts, onions, and green onions. No change in overall rating.

Yelp
I love that they open early, food is so good. Perfect location to pick up before starting your day. Service is really good too.

Yelp
We came to Homestyle Dim Sum as a party of 4 on Sunday morning at 9:30 AM. We were able to be seated right away, and we ordered several things. Our go to's: a green onion bun, the shrimp chive dumplings, soup dumplings, beef chow fun, pork rice roll. their radish and taro cakes. their salt & pepper squid. Everything was so good. I have gone to their restaurant since 2017, and their flavors only improve every time I am lucky enough to go. They are such an underrated spot!

Yelp
Family owned and they are on site. THe people working there are very nice. They speak english. Fun gor; one of the best available. Texture contrast between slightly crunchy peanut, water chestnut vs tender melt in mouth wrapper. Flavor layered with cilantro and fat from pork. They have to take the extra step of boiling the water chestnut to remove the canned tinny taste from canned water chestnut. Nobody even includes water chestnut in dim sum anymore. Can tell everything inside hand chopped; not from machine. . They sell frozen dim sum; better than any supermarket or dimsum restaurant outside of chinatown. The dim sum restaurants mostly buy from wholesalers so you aren't getting anything they made themselves. They cant find the labor to make each piece by hand. The exception are the jiaozi/dumpling places where they show you they are making them as they are ordered. That freshness from freshly made dumplings is very easy to detect. All the metropolitan areas; Vancouver, LA, SF bay area buy dim sum from large wholesalers. Most of the work is automated by machines. Like croissants; most are made by machine. The hand rolled ones taste completely different. Chow fun has wok hei. They make onsite customize to your liking. Been there many years.

Yelp
Yum! I'm from Colorado and we don't exactly have the most fabulous dim sum options. Love that this place opens so early and that it's located in one of my favorite spots, ID. This place is a hole in the wall, which are my favorite kinds of places. It wasn't too busy and it felt cozy inside, especially after warming up with some tea. My friends recommended this place, but said that the shrimp shumai is pretty mediocre. With that being said, my friends and I ordered everything but the shrimp shumai. The shrimp rice paper rolls were so yummy, especially with some soy sauce and chili oil. A second favorite had to have been the Chinese broccoli. I don't know what they do to make it taste so good, but it makes me want to eat more veggies, haha. I don't know if I would say that this is the best dim sum that I've ever had, but I will say that it was pretty damn good. Would recommend.

Yelp
This is the worst dim sum I have ever eat in my entire life. All the food I have took a picture. It was not what I ordered. It looked like somebody just munched it up with their hand and just throw it in to go back taste terrible

Ron L.

Yelp
Not that I would really know, but more "authentic" and like dim sum I've had in various North American Chinatowns, Hong Kong and Taiwan (a long time ago). Prices seem reasonable too.

Yelp
This dim sum shop in Chinatown is one of a kind. If you and a buddy are ever craving no frills dim sum, this is the place to visit. Service is near instantaneous, as you can already see many of the items made in those glass cases. And the chili sauces they have on each table is awesome. A generous spoonful on each bite of sticky rice chicken is magic. The waiters are the sweetest people. Even getting takeout, they offered a lot of tea for us to sip while we wait.
google avatar

Yelp
We wanted to get reasonably priced, authentic dim sum in China town and this spot delivered! The soup dumplings were my favorite.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
The service was prompt, and the ambiance had a bustling yet cozy feel. It's clear that they take pride in their craft. The variety on the menu was extensive, making it hard to resist trying a bit of everything. If you find yourself in Seattle and have a hankering for top-notch dim sum, this spot is a must-visit. Friendly staff, fantastic flavors, and an all-around delightful dining experience. I'll be back for more Siu Mai, Har Gow, Ha Cheung, Ngao Yuk, and definitely another round of that incredible Feng Zhao - no doubt about it!
google avatar

Rich K.

Yelp
Great spot for dim sum, friendly staff good food. Limited seating so get in early. Pork bun, pork and shrimp dumpling great, best steamed pork.

Yelp
Walked in just to try out a little bit of dim sum at a place I haven't been to. I'm always happy with my choices in Chinatown/International District. Today I walked over for lunch. Most of the tables were taken. The scene is very humble and laidback. No frills type joint. Only one guy was ordering in front of me in line. I waited about five minutes and walked out with my order. I had the shrimp and pork shui mai, BBQ pork buns, and spare ribs. I only ate half and am filled with food and joy. Sometimes a lil bit of food helps fight the Seattle gloom.

May R.

Yelp
Amazing that they are open for Christmas!! Everything tasted freshly made and delicious. Definitely our new go to place for dim sum.

Yelp
Pretty average! I've only ever gotten takeout from here so keep that in mind! I ordered the shrimp and bbq pork fried rice, shrimp and pork shu mai, pan fried pork dumpling (football), beef rice noodle, and century egg and pork congee. Fried rice: it was pretty average and bland. There was no seasoning on it at all. It seemed to be made fresh though since the rice was fluffy and not dry. However, I had to add soy sauce to give it some flavor and make it somewhat enjoyable. Wouldn't order again. Shu mai: pretty standard and good! Nothing to rave about, but no dislikes either. Would order again. Football: HUGE and extremely crunchy!! The crunch was phenomenal, but they placed it in a paper bag and the amount of oil ripped the bag open. I think they were made fresh since I had ordered close to closing time, and they were piping hot. The dough inside was really chewy though, and I had to eat a lot of dough before I got to the filling. I would potentially order it again if I was sharing with friends. Beef rice noodle: bland and not good. I ate a bit and threw the rest out. Congee: average. Could use a little bit more seasoning. I prefer the one from Hong Kong bistro.

Yelp
I went to get dim sum with seven other people, and we all had a good experience. It was decently busy when we went in the afternoon so we waited for about half an hour to get seated. We ordered a bunch of plates of food including lotus leaf sticky rice, fried rice, fried noodles, noodle rolls, BBQ pork buns, century egg and pork congee, Chinese donuts, and my favorite, ham sui gok. I didn't take any photos unfortunately, but all of the food looked and tasted great. The only thing I wish were different is that the fried rice and congee had a little more flavor. Other than that, everything was wonderful. The food was very reasonably priced, and my group ordered everything family style and split the bill as such.

Yelp
Coming from SF, I'm not impressed at all with the taste and service, especially with the price point. I got the baked barbecue pork bun and spit it out after a couple of bites. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.
google avatar

Mandy L.

Yelp
So delish! Now that I know what a rice roll is I can order them. Had one with mushroom. The Chinese broccoli is so yummy. The fried rice with shrimp was also delicious, as were the shrimp dumplings and the Bao. This place is awesome. Will definitely return!
google avatar

Lisa N.

Yelp
Came here first after an early flight to Seattle. Overall service was nice and quick. Kind of a hole in the wall spot with average food. The portions were great though! I think overall we spent about $40 for all the dishes pictured. The shrimp crepe had a different soy sauce than what I'm used to as its not as sweet as the typical one. The beef chow fun was kinda on the bland side too but the siu mai were good! Not bad for a morning snack to get our day going!
google avatar

Julie B.

Yelp
We typically go to other places for dim sum on the east side or dim sum king but we decided to try this place out since we were ordering delivery and too lazy to drive. They were the only place that had my favorite soybean skill roll and it was delicious! We also tried the shrimp rice roll and it was so fresh and soft, highly recommend! My all time favorite was the bake salted egg custard bun and pork floss roll. The shui mai, shrimp dumpling (har gow), stuffed eggplant and beef tripe were good, a little pricier but delicious. I would skip the sticky rice wrapped in lotus- the rice was off and barely any filling.

jamie c.

Yelp
My HK friend recommended this place. He knows the chef and he told me he is really good. I tried hagao, Shumai, shrimp with chives, pork bun and coconut bun. Everything was piping hot and fresh. I think this is the best dim sum place in PNW. I go to Richmond every month for dim sum so I know what good dim sum is
google avatar

Jenny C.

Yelp
I haven't been by in a couple months but I had a bit of a disappointing experience today which is why I decreased my rating to 3 stars. The amount of filling in the steamed pork bun decreased. It's more bun than anything now. I have previous photos for comparison. The shu mai and shrimp dumpling were consistent. I love their beef chow fun but it was so bad today. It was bland, and the noodles were all stuck together and they barely put any beef in it. It used to be so good. Their prices have gone up again since I was last here as well. I used to come here because it was good and one of the cheaper dim sum places but I will adding other places to my dim sum rotation.

Lisa R.

Yelp
They are open early!! And the food is piping hot from the steamer. It was a great find traveling from out of town. The Shu Mai were large and delicious. Ordered quite a bit and it was all good. The bakery items were huge and also good. The custard bun is better than the pineapple bun but you can't go wrong with any of the baked goods. Oh so good
google avatar

Jieming L.

Yelp
I noticed they raised the prices just in two weeks time, but it's ok and understandable. My favorite- sesame balls and fried salty meat donuts, the skins are toasted so crisp, even good after two hours; beef crepes had really good beef but the recipe of the crepe is off; egg terry's are good as well My least favorite - steamed pork rib, tastes good but the pork ribs are not treated properly, not even cut properly
google avatar

Frank L.

Yelp
Writing this with the preface that I'm not really a dim sum fan at all, unless it is Yang King in SF, or my fav chain Tim Ho Wan!!! Watching some Strictly Dumpling on YouTube, Mikey Chen ordered some dim sum to go from this restaurant and it got me in the mood. Found it on Yelp, and ordered straight from the app. The chicken fried rice is a pass (on it), kind of bland, chicken was just meh. Har Gow was above average. Plump and clean. Just the right amount of wrapper and happy to have had it. Fried dumpling with pork filling (see picture) was not a "dumpling" that I expected but it was definitely good. Big, Crispy, Crunchy, filling. Would order again. Egg Custard Bun was delicious. I'm a sucker for anything that has Egg or Custard in it. A weakness of mine. Perfect bun that wasn't too starchy, hot, and slightly sweet custard. YUM. This is a small mom and pop shop, with hard workers inside. Definitely good for the way I used it, fast to go ordering via Yelp! Just skip the fried rice and try the actual dim sum!
google avatar

Linda N.

Yelp
Super early morning dim sum option with a decent selection and zero lines. Would dine here again. Not sure how Homestyle compares to Harbor City of Jade Garden bc we ordered completely different items from our usual staples...other than the shrimp stuffed eggplant, which was phenomenal.
google avatar

Juz C.

Yelp
We ordered shrimp dumplings, soybean roll, shumai, bbq pork and shrimp fried rice, chives dumpling, Chinese brocolli. The soybean roll was good and the shrimp dumplings too. There's not a long wait for this restaurant so it's good to have dimsum and not have to wait.
google avatar

Harley M.

Yelp
What a clutch find for excellent dim sum in the ID! This place had no wait on a Sunday morning, and we came out of our meal super satisfied. They only have 5 or 6 tables inside and service was kind of slow. The waitress didn't speak much English but we were able to order just fine. We had a bunch of made to order dim sum, although most of the people coming in were getting takeout. Dim sum was all the usual assortment - normal sized portions and all very tasty. Had some fried taro cake, shrimp rice rolls, shrimp steamed dumplings, shu mai, and steamed bbq pork buns. Everything we got was yummy and hit the spot. Prices seem comparable to other nearby places. I'd definitely come back here! Tl;dr - Very compatible to other more popular dim sum places in the ID (jade garden, harbor city) and a much shorter wait!
google avatar

Matt U.

Yelp
My wife is half Chinese and has a deep love of all things Dim Sum. We probably drive To Seattle once per month just so we can get some really good dim sum. Our normal place is around the corner but since we were in the neighborhood, we Figured you would stop by this place. It's a much smaller restaurant than the larger places like Harbor city, But we did find the selection to be solid and they had a couple of dishes that we hadn't seen previously. The Char Siu Bao, coconut buns, egg tarts and other staples were all very good. We also discovered mochi pancakes the word delightful grilled mochi with sweet or savory options inside. The bbq pork mochi pancake is a new favorite! The prices here were awesome with a bag full of food costing something like $13. Winning! This is definitely a spot that we will be coming back to when we are in town and one you should check out!
google avatar

Donut D.

Yelp
Do they serve the best dim sum in town? No. Is their pricy cheap? No, but not expensive. Are their dim sum fresh? YES. Everything is steaming hot. If you don't see what they have in their show case or steaming area, ask them. They will make a fresh batch, waiting time is usually less than 10mins. My favorite is deep fried stuffed dough. Huge, perfect balance of crispness and chewiness and always fresh. Chatted with the owner while waiting for my noodles, she had they have been hit hard since pandemic. Increased number of diners order, eat and just walk out without paying while the waitstaffs turn their back. This is hard and big lost for small business. So, next time if they have you pay before foods served when dining in, please don't give them a hard time.
google avatar

Yelp
Great Chinese restaurant for dim sum. I enjoyed every food item I received. The food was delicious and authentic. The shrimp rice roll did have a bit too much soy sauce though.

Rich R.

Yelp
It's just unsanitary. Don't risk it when there are so many other dim sum places in the area. City gave the restaurant a 1 out of 4 rating for a reason. Had a friend get some food to go and found a cockroach in a sauce container.
google avatar

Sharifa N.

Yelp
One of the only places open early on Sunday. Walked by on a Saturday afternoon and got 4 huge boas for like $5! Needed some handheld snacks to have the true China town experience. Went back the next day to get some more boas Togo before I left town and they were open at 730am. Only the steamed boas were finished by then, but they said everything would be done by 8am. The baked boas were to die for! So glad I gave them a try. They had sesame balls and many baked good in the cases. Will be back! Sorry I didn't take food pics... they went in the mouth too quickly
google avatar

Yelp
Couldn't get into other dim sum places so we came to Homestyle. They had a great selection for a good price. Seems like a great place to a quick pick up order. Custard Bun 3 Steamed BBQ Pork Bun Deep Fried Shrimp Dumplings 4 Shui Mai Sticky Rice Wrapped in Lotus Leaf
google avatar

Phil T.

Yelp
This is my dad's favorite spot for baked pork rolls, I think. We ordered some and brought them home for breakfast in the morning. The rolls were large and cost about $2.75 each. We remembered them being different but maybe we got turned around or remembered incorrectly.
google avatar

Sandra L.

Yelp
Love this small restaurant. Currently they only have take out, no seated dining. We don't get into Seattle much anymore because of the COVID 19 pandemic, but when we do, we always stop and pick up goodies We stock up on steamed, and baked Char Sui baos (BBQ Roast pork buns) Note: the Steamed baos freeze well. We also really like their rice noodle rolls (with BBQ pork, or beef or shrimp that are made to order, shrimp and chives pan fried dumplings, black bean spareribs, lotus leaf sticky rice with meat, and sweets as well. It is hard for me to leave there without spending $ 50-70 on all those savory and sweet delicious items At our last visit. 2 days ago, we also ordered Beef with Chow Ho Fun (rice noodles) and it was so delicious, we devoured the whole order before we got home in the car! Parking can be a hassle, no lot, just off the street parking.
google avatar

Momo M.

Yelp
Service is terrible. I came in to order to-go, no one greeted me. Waited a while to get someone to acknowledge me. Place was pretty empty, not busy at all. It wasn't until someone else lined up behind me that they acknowledged my presence. I can speak Chinese, but ordered in English. One of the things I ordered, she said," let me check if I have it." The kitchen says they have 1 left. I proceed to wait 25+ minutes for my to-go order while many groups order, get their food, and leave. Everyone else was acknowledged when they came in. I asked what was taking so long, turns out they were waiting for that item they claimed they had. I went here because the dim sum is all ready to go and I was in a hurry. Worst experience ever.
google avatar

Nhan L.

Yelp
I haven't eaten a lot of stuff here since I usually just pop in for a few things for a work snack. But my GO TO are their footballs. Just under $6 for 3. They are my fav thing and they make the best ones in the city imo. So CRISPY, flavorful with a hint of sweetness. If you are dining or even just walking by, make sure you grab a few
google avatar

Mel N.

Yelp
Always my go-to for the most ginormous steam buns at a fair price in Seattle. I always make sure I make my regular stop here. I don't expect Much from the service but their food IMO is top notch. Mom and Pops atmosphere at its finest. Always love supporting small biz. Must try if you're looking for a quality dim sum.

Yelp
3.5 star is a pretty accurate rating of this place. I've tried this place two weekends in a row and can attest that the place is pretty solid if you go early and hope everything is fresh that day. I dined in on a recent Sunday and had the standard dim sum fare such as har gow, siu mai, bolo bao with custard fillings, beef meatballs, 2 orders of cheong fun(rice roll) with egg, and a pork floss roll, they are all pretty good. Although I do feel the cheong fun is a little doughy for my liking, but this is the only place that has fresh made to order cheong fun in greater Seattle as far as I know. If you know another one, please let me know. The pork floss roll is quite a bargain at $1.95 and tasted great even the next day. For all of this food, our bill came to a little over $50 with tax and tips, we as a party of three were stuffed silly. The next weekend I got the beef cheong fun again in the late afternoon and the luo mei gai (sticky rice in lotus leaf) and were quite disappointed. The minced beef in the rice roll dish tasted off like the meat wasn't fresh or something, the luo mei gai didn't really have much fillings and is quite bland. At $4.25 each, this is an easy pass in my book. I'd give it a 4 for my first experience and a 2 or even less for the 2nd, average out for a 3 seems fair. So place is a hit or miss so try to go when it's busy in the AM.
google avatar

Francesca S.

Yelp
I heard about this place from a 2016 Fung Bros on Youtube. They have most, if not all, items that traditional dim sum spots have AND were at a very good price, so it was nice being able to order everything I was craving! The service was good and quick; I got my order in less than 10 minutes!
google avatar

Doris W.

Yelp
I was across the street placing a food order at 663 and was in need of lunch, so I swung in here for some take-out. I actually ended up getting take-out twice from here within a few days of each other! 1st round of take-out, I ordered: - chicken chow fun - baked bbq pork buns - bbq pork rice roll - custard bun - stuff eggplant 2nd round, I ordered: - steamed bbq pork buns - shumai - fried dumpling with pork filling Price wise, they're great here and very affordable. The chow fun was pretty good, Cody didn't like the noodles that much, but the chicken had great flavor. I always enjoy bbq pork buns, and this place has good ones. The first time I ordered the rice rolls, I didn't think they gave me enough sauce, so I made sure to order extra rice roll sauce the 2nd time I came by. I liked the rice roll here. The fried dumpling was dripping in oil, so if you don't like super greasy food, i would avoid this. I thought the shumai was good. The stuffed eggplant was probably my least favorite item out of everything I tried here. Parking: is always tricky in this area! Street parking, or paid lot. Overall, I would get take out dim sum from here again!

Yelp
Homestyle Dim Sum, like a number of places in the International District, is an unassuming place that serves up (mostly) made-to-order dim sum. Because of this, Homestyle Dim Sum serves dim sum all day - which is great if you're craving some for dinner. What I like about Homestyle Dim Sum is that there are mostly tables of four than there are large round tables. Interestingly enough, there were several solo diners here - I'm assuming because the layout here is more conducive to eating with smaller parties. I was also another solo diner - I couldn't resist my craving for dim sum - and decided to get Chinese broccoli, sticky rice, a shrimp rice roll and some lemon iced tea to wash it all down. Unsurprisingly, I took half of the food home because it was far too much for just one person but it was so worth it. The Chinese broccoli was blanched well and the sticky rice was just as I had expected it to be. The rice roll is good but standard - I find that the rice roll at Northwest Tofu is still my favorite. The iced lemon tea was divinely refreshing and not terribly sweet. TL;DR - A great place to stop by for dim sum at any time of the day. You can also stop in with a larger party or just yourself!

Yelp
This place is where Duk Li Dim Sum used to be, I think they just changed their name because from what I remember from Duk Li, it looks the exact same inside and outside. Came by for lunch, it wasn't busy so we sat by the tv. Similar laminated menus from before, they may have added a few extra items and have this pick 4 items thing, I looked over this and just ordered as normal. We got: -Har Gow (shrimp balls): nicely steamed, big pieces, stuffed nicely with plenty of shrimp. Yea, this was good. -BBQ Pork Rice Roll: this was good too, bbq pork was tasty, thin enough rice roll and big pieces. -Sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf: good, very comforting, decently stuffed with meat, few pieces of chinese sausage, and sticky. -Tofu Skin roll: very steamy and hot, good amount of filling, skin roll was thin enough to think it was a noodle, we killed this. -Pan fried Taro Cake: this was my least favorite, pretty dry inside, not very flavorful, very lightly pan fried, we didn't finish this. Prices are pretty good for what you get, service is basically, they take your order, bring what you ordered....if you need me just flag me down with your waiving arms, then see ya! Pay at the counter when you are done. Quality of dim sum seemed ok to me, didn't see any shenanigans in the food. If you liked Duk Li, you'll probably like Homestyle.

Yelp
I was picking up some BBQ next door and decided to pick up a few baked char sir bao because my wife loves them. I asked for 4 and they were huge, twice the size of a normal bao. Then she charged me $2.25/bao. Ok they were big. Unfortunately, it was mostly air and dough. Dare I say double digit inflation. LOL The bao was 2/5 but I gave them another star because of covid and inflation.

Yelp
got here pretty early on a Saturday, around 9:30-9:45. Seated right away and there were a few other tables already eating/finishing up when I sat down. I loved that people were speaking Canto even though it made me realize how bad mine has gotten. I ordered the har gow, beef cherng fun and cilantro cherng fun. There were 4 well sized har gow in the order. I didn't eat them right away but they were not really that warm by the time I bit into the first one. Temperature aside, the shrimp had a little bite to it and the dumpling skin was nice and chewy, and didn't fall apart. If these were piping hot they would have been perfect. For the cherng fun (steamed rice rolls), I had been searching for these since I got to town and they are LEGIT. They're like the fresh ones I get when I go to NYC. Not sure what kind of soy sauce they used to top it but it was also delicious. I would definitely come back just for these. The menu was a double sided, laminated 8x11 with noodles and congee in addition to dim sum. They don't push carts, you order and they bring it out. The cherng fun is def made fresh. There were only 2 people that I saw waiting on tables so at times they seemed a bit overwhelmed. It wasn't crazy busy but Chinese people can be super demanding so I get it. I wasn't in a rush so it didn't phase me but the guy working there was definitely trying and apologized for my check taking awhile.

Yelp
This place is great for take out dim sum , their display case looks underwhelming but don't let that deter you , they have way more items than it looks . Love their moo cakes for mid autumn festival , it is the traditional style moon cake . I got the white lotus one and it was Perfect ! I also got a few to go dim sum items , siu mai , sesame balls , chicken sticky rice . Siu mai was on point , no porky taste , perfect balance of meat and flavor . Sticky rice was good as well. A good Option to order to go dim sum ! Will def be back when I don't want to dine in for dim sum . Although they have dine in option , the ambience for dim sum is just ain't it .
