TERRIBLE do not go here. They serve uncooked RAW chicken (pictured). My friend didn’t notice until after biting in it. DISGUSTING. The kitchen is also extremely dirty like it hasn’t been cleaned in MONTHS and looks so unsanitary, the staff couldn’t care less about helping customers either. This place is an absolute health violation AND the food is nasty. Mac salad was gross even besides being served with raw chicken. 0/10. AVOID this place unless you want to pay $20 for food poisoning. ALSO they were not even phased when we asked for our money back, per reviews it seems like this is something that happens often. Insane how this business is even still running.

Google
AMAZING Hawaiian food!!!! The poke is really authentic, fresh, flavorful, and delicious! The fried spam musubi is awesome! There is spicy mayo on top which adds a nice kick, it also doesn't feel very heavy to eat. The drinks are great too! I didn't get to try the desert, as the pineapple upside-down cake and malasadas were unavailable :(. Overall, an EXCELLENT meal and I'll definitely be returning! 5/5 stars!

Google
It's a small and cute place to get some amazing food. The garlic shrimp scampi was fresh and delicious. Lava chicken was crispy and pretty good. There's some seating off to the side, but not much. Parking can be limited in the area, but most people seem to order to go.

Google
i’ve had Hawaiian food before, but nothing super authentic. The spam musubi was amazing. Their lemonade was super refreshing and I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the Mac salad was. Plus I got a half pound of spicy poke which really hit the spot and was probably some of the best poke I’ve ever had, it was a little pricey, but it was well worth it. I will definitely be coming back here again and again because they really know how to make food right. Not only that but the customer service was awesome. I was able to get some recommendations for things that I was unsure about! Glad that we have a place like this in Pacific beach and can’t wait to go back to eat there even more!

Google
My cousins raved about Homestyle Hawaiian so we took their word for it. We ordered the Big Braddah combo, Garlic Shrimp Scampi, Teri Chicken and the Malasadas. Everyone loved their choices. All the proteins were grilled perfectly, the shrimp was fresh, the Mac had lots of flavor, and the Portuguese donuts were freshly fried to perfection. They were airy, sweet, crisp and soft! 😋🤙

Google
We lived in Hawaii for a decade and haven’t found good Hawaiian food since we moved here. The search is over! As they say back on the rock, this food is so good it broke da mouth. Didn’t break da bank either. That big serving of chicken Katsu was only $8!

Google
6'5 and i couldn't finish the Big Braddah Combo. But thats also because i had the deep fried Spam Musubi which is bomb. its almost GUILT FREE because it taste so fresh (ironically because its spam). The braddah combo tho bomb. Mac is bomb. so the Foods good but the people working there are so nice and humble and that makes the food taste even better. Def a gem in Pacific Beach

Google
I craved some hawaiian food and this was the spot we found. I really liked this place and am so coming back. what i ordered: - kulua pork: they gave so much pork I didn't even finish the dish. the pork was soft and fell apart in my mouth. the rice was cooked perfectly, and everything together tasted divine. 100/10 - deep fried spam musubi: i really like this plate, they deep fried 2 and covered it in sauce. i could just eat this by itself and be full. the rice to spam ratio was uneven as there were so much rice but it was still delicious regardless. 5/5 i'd recommend because it's a cheap and quick eats. we did waited a little bit because there were many customers before us but it was truly worth the wait. the parking was a bit hard to find thou. overall: 5/5

Yelp
We had such a wonderful experience at Homestyle Hawaiian in Pacific Beach! From the moment we walked in, the staff's friendliness made us feel so welcome. They went out of their way to be kind to my kids, which truly meant a lot. It's not every day you find a place where the service makes such a positive impact! The ambiance is cozy, with a small indoor space that feels warm and inviting. The outdoor seating, although limited, was perfect for enjoying the sunny weather--it added a lovely touch to our meal. And of course, the food! Everything we tried was delicious, with those classic Hawaiian flavors that feel like a mini vacation in every bite. It's clear that they take pride in preparing their dishes with care. If you're in the area and craving good food with great service, I highly recommend Homestyle Hawaiian. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Weird little place. They were out of "meat" lumpia, but their musubi was okay. Three stars for having decent musubi, but not having lumpia.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was a hit or miss at this place. Hits: Korean chicken, fried masubi Misses: Teri beef (really tough and overcooked), galbi (poor cut of meat and really chewy) Just ok: katsu, Note: This is a takeout only place so be prepared to just grab your food and go. Maybe like 1 table in front to eat at.
google avatar

Yelp
First time coming here and I decided to try the spam musubi and chicken later lunch plate. The spam musubi and macaroni salad were super good but the chicken katsu had zero flavor. Luckily, they had some side sauce that added some flavor to it. Doused it over the chicken. When I walked in, I wasn't greeted. A guy just walked behind the counter and stared at me. I took that as an indicator that I should just tell him my order. I'd MAYBE come back, if I were in the area, and try something else but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

Yelp
If you're seeing the social media and thinking about trying this place, don't. Not sure if they're paying for good reviews, cuz this place has fallen off sooo hard. Cleanliness grade is a B, restaurant is filled with flies. Ahi tuna was low grade and has multiple bones in it. Mac salad tastes like it was left out on Fourth of July. Rice was dry and hard. Season your spicy ahi tun with franks red hot? Is frank hawaiin? Customer service was somehow even worse. Also quite expensive. If you wanna good quality poke go to Its Raw on OB or hawaiin fresh seafood. This place is astonishingly disappointing.

Yelp
The food is good, you get your Mac and pork and katsu fix but I will say you got to wait for it. The wait overall is longer than other places and the kitchen is small--same with the space. I would say the service is good and it's always young kids cooking and serving. Get the spam masubi and look out at the menu for what is in stock and what is not. This place is a staple of PB and worth a visit if you have time. One tip is if you want tacos you can order then walk over to Oscars and come back to pick your order up. Parking is also not great, but go before 6pm or a weekday and you should be ok.

Yelp
This place is a great local spot for lunch or dinner! It's a small restaurant located in PB and has so many options to choose from! They also have a new beef bowl to try! Here's what we got for lunch: Lumpia - super crispy and tasty filled with meat and served fresh! Beef bowl - thin slices of beef mixed with egg and onion over rice. Super yummy, beef is slightly sweet to complement the salty eggs! Chicken karage - my favorite! Super crispy and juicy chicken served with a sauce and side salad Ahi tuna - comes in half or full size and is a ton of fresh fish served with rice Highly recommend checking out this place and you can order something different every time! Super friendly staff too!

Yelp
Food was underwhelming. The chicken teriyaki was very dry. I've never actually been served chicken teriyaki that was strictly white meat so that was a first. Very dry. Not worth the price. Mac salad was good. Deep fried Spam masubi had no flavor. Waited 40 minutes for food. There was one other person ahead of me.

Yelp
Always really good and fresh food! I usually get the spicy poke bowl which is my favorite but the spam Musubi is amazing tonight! Only like $3 and it's a good size to keep me full! Super fresh and was ready immediately so I recommend getting Musubi if you don't want to wait long for your food! Not much of a place to sit and eat but it's so close to the beach that you can drive and find any pretty spot nearby to eat! Lemonade was 10/10 and HUGE!

Yelp
Super laid back whole in a wall type of spot. Parking right off the street in front of business. Got there right before dinner rush, place is small - inside is all kitchen, you place your order and sit outside to eat, or grab a patio table across the street @ Gelsons. Menu was underlooked on our part, we wanted to try a little bit of everything but will definitely have to come back to try what we didn't get this time around. Chicken Katsu is perfectly seasoned, battered and fried, the Korean chicken is also good but less crispy. Shrimp was amazing, the sauce is a little spicy but good spicy with a kick, the meat was a bit hard and not as enjoyable as the rest but willing to try the short ribs next time- everything pairs up so well with the sticky rice and Mac salad. Definitely worth it. Shrimp was my favorite! Drinks are all canned soda and Hawaiian juices, so if you need something special to wash down your food, bring it!

Yelp
Underwhelming and overpriced. This place is the perfect place to drive by and forget about. Then again, you actually won't even notice it's there because their sign is 1 inch from the ground. Customer service was non existent and messed up our order. Menu is misleading and staff can't be bothered to clarify items on the menu. The macaroni was overcooked and the mayo to mac ratio was 2:1. Yesterday's rice was served bland and without furikake despite what employee told us. Best part about this place is knowing I never have go back.
google avatar

Nina J.

Yelp
The employees are very friendly and talkative. There's some outdoor seating (5 stools) and some standing room if you want to stop and eat. The Korean Chicken is super crispy on the outside but still tender and moist inside. It comes with a thin tangy sauce. The deep fried musubi has two slices of spam in it and it quite filling.
google avatar

Yelp
Super yummy! The place is small, outside eating only. This place gave me mom and pop shop. I haven't researched the ownership info. Service was awesome, the cashier was super helpful and patient. I had the deep fried spam musubi. Fireeeee
google avatar

Laura J.

Yelp
I got the Katsu Plate and the Homemade Lilikoi Lemonade. I feel that both items were very worth the price, they gave a lot of Katsu and I ended up eating it for two days, and the lemonade drink was huge. The Katsu was crispy and chicken was very juicy, the only thing I wish was that they gave actual Katsu sauce, instead they gave ketchup which didn't really match with the taste of the rest of the plate. The lemonade was very refreshing and they had a lot of different flavors you could try.

Yelp
A small little place with very filling portions. Staff were friendly and orders were made fresh. We brought our food to go and they were HOT. Shrimp was delicious and garlicky. Fried spam musubi had a fun crispy texture

Yelp
We had high hopes for Homestyle Hawaiian but left disappointed. We arrived on a Sunday at 12pm noon -- right when they supposedly open -- but they didn't open their doors for a while even though we saw staff inside. After they finally opened, we placed our order and were told it would be about a 10-15 minute wait for our food to be ready. We waited over 25 minutes and watched a number of other parties who ordered after us get their food first. We also received our food before either of the other 2 parties who ordered ahead of us, and we could tell they were getting annoyed as well. We actually finished our entire meal, and the group that placed the first order of the day still didn't have their food. As for the food, we ordered a spam musubi and the Big Bruddah plate. The spam musubi was clearly pre-made (it was wrapped in aluminum foil and the seaweed was soggy). The Big Bruddah plate was a lot of food, but everything was medicore. The lava chicken was a bit dry and super oily, the pulled pork was dry, and the kalbi was overly sweet. Even though Homestyle Hawaiian is just a small storefront without indoor dining, is take-out only, and has a few stools for casual outdoor dining, their prices aren't any cheaper than what you'd expect at a full-service, sit-down restaurant. Since we were one of the first ones there that day, we also had to physically carry a stack of stools outside to use them. Service was really rude. Employees were curt and dismissive the entire time. There are a number of sticky notes at the ordering counter stating what they're out of, etc., and the first thing employees do when customers walk in is immediately direct customers to read the sticky notes and tell them that the loco moco WILL take 20-30 minutes. As we waited for our food for 25 minutes, we watched this happen over and over again. Reading other reviews, it seems like service is a huge issue here. There are a number of things staff could do to make this a better experience, like put stools out for customers to use beforehand vs having customers carry the stools out themselves. The wait times are also ridiculous, especially considering I waited 25 minutes to be handed a pre-made, soggy, lukewarm spam musubi that was clearly sitting out when I placed my order.

Yelp
I've been dying to try this place ever since my first visit to La Jolla. However, last time I stopped by, it was halfway through their business hours and they were sold out of a lot of items. This time I was lucky. There's no dining room, only a few barstools and a bar outside. The weather was mild, so we enjoyed our food here. I chose the two item combo. We opted for the Korean chicken and the katsu/lava chicken (same breaded chicken, you're just given a different lava or katsu sauce on the side, depending on your choice). They both tasted good. I appreciate that the person working let us try both the katsu and lava sauce. Super kind of him.

Yelp
We have been avid repeat customers fo this location but recently we discovered they closed down. How is this business going to accept payment for an online order after they closed down and then issue a payment created credit minus the gratuity? We didn't receive any order or service but they keep the tip. Doesn't make sense. We hope the new ownership that's possibly taking over is aware. We have since gone to Leilani's on Cass.

Yelp
The restaurant has good visibility from the street. It is a hole in the wall, with no inside seating, and a few of the employees in the kitchen were young people. The boss was casual, as he directed the operation. I ordered the 2 meat plate of kalbi, and it was all I could ask for!!! The 5 star rating is for the tastiness and quantity of the kalbi. There was soooooo much meat, and the ribs were quite thick!! Yummy marinade!! My wife ordered the teriyaki salmon plate. Well done!! The place is kind of a mess. Don't allow appearances stop you from ordering. This is a no frills place to get delicious food.

Yelp
It is a small spot, but we enjoyed eating outside. We ordered the fried spam musubi which was good. The chicken Katsu was enjoyable with the sauce. The mahi with lemon caper sauce needed some more flavor, but it was overall good. The macaroni salad and the green salad was a good side as well. Their pomegranate lemonade was tasty too! They were very busy inside because they had a catering order to fill, but they still got our food out in a timely manner. Street parking can be tricky there depending on the time of day.
google avatar

Yelp
We saw this place on instagram. It looked really good. We should've gotten what they ordered. Not sure what we were thinking lol. Anyway, the location is very easy to find. There's 10 minute parking at the front. The only seating area they have are stools and a counter at the front exterior of the store. Very chill and friendly people. The chicken katsu was good, crispy but not too hard. The beef was good, juicy. I do wish it was cut into smaller pieces though. The macaroni was okay, I feel like it lacked flavor and had too much black pepper. I'm down to try the other stuff next time!

Yelp
Across my four years in San Diego, I have looked and looked for solid Hawaiian style poke. I found this location and was hopeful that it might impress me, but the poke once again let me down. They have some other items here including katsus and loco mocos that I didn't get to try, but based on what I did have I wasn't too impressed. Logistically, you'll have to find either street parking or park at the grocery store across the street. Inside, they don't have anything besides an ordering area, but they have a some chairs outside facing the street if you still want to eat there. One thing that I did appreciate about their food was that it genuinely is made fresh, however it did mean that I waited about twenty minutes for my order so I wouldn't come here if I was in a hurry. Malasadas (4/5): These were the only things that were actually yummy that I got to try. They were super fluffy, not too sweet, and still moist inside. This comes in a pretty large box and none of them had any filling, but that's my favorite version anyways. Deep-Fried Musubi (2.5/5): This was SO CLOSE to actually being delicious. The crust on the outside was absolutely incredible, but unfortunately after battering a musubi, the ratio of carbs to spam was super off. I would have preferred a reduced amount of rice and I really disliked the brown sauce (tonkatsu?) that was drizzled over the final product. Super salty over an already a quite salty food made this just a bit overwhelming. Ahi Poke (2/5): The rice was bad; it was mushy and dry at the same time which was in it's own way rather impressive. The poke itself wasn't much better. It was also over salted and the marinade was noticeably very oily. Plus, the texture of the fish itself was almost crumbly and didn't feel very fresh either.

Yelp
Great customer service, delicious food! That's pretty much what I look for everywhere I go ... the place is very small you can't dine inside but they have stools and tables outside . It took a while to get our food but it was very delicious and they take the time to prepare you're food ... this Hawaiian spot has its own unique tasty style reminded me of the time we went to hawaii , the pasta salad was so good . This place is a little far for me but the drive was worth it and we enjoyed the food very much if you're around the area definitely try this place .. thank you for serving delicious Hawaiian food

Yelp
I'm usually not a picky eater especially when it comes to Hawaiian foods. But i was a little let down by the plate i ordered here. I got the lava chicken as i noticed it seemed like a popular lunch plate locals ordered. The chicken katsu was a little dry and the sauce that came with it was not very exciting. It just tasted like your typical sweet and sour sauce. The Mac salad that accompanied the plate also was not very creamy and tasted old. There is only outdoor seating available as it is mostly a casual takeout place. Food also took a bit to come out.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Ordered online, got there and was told they are out of greens and korean chicken. Asked for more rice and lava chicken as a replacement. Got katsu and mac salad instead. Rice was extremely dry, barely edible, was thankful for that mac salad. Katsu was also dry. Short ribs were good though (combo plate). Overall very underwhelming for $20/combo plate. I recall L&L being much better last time I had it.

Yelp
A craving for Hawaiian food led me here. Google maps took us to the restaurant but it can be easy to miss since I didn't see a sign out front. It is a small restaurant where you order inside and wait upside for them to call your order. At the time we were the only people there and ended up waiting for about 20 minutes for our food. But during that time, some of the other orders that were after us were fulfilled. While the wait was a little longer than expected, the food was on point, delicious and satisfied my Hawaiian food craving. Here are the items we ordered: - chicken katsu - loco moco - lumpia

Yelp
What a hidden gem in the SD area. Hawaiian plate lunches are such a cozy, comfort meal to me and I can't think of a better place to enjoy it than sunny San Diego. I got the Spicy Ahi Poke as my starter which was surprisingly so good. I'm usually skeptical of the quality of raw fish at places that don't specialize in it, but these were huge pieces of tuna and each one was coated in a deliciously creamy sauce that had just a slight kick from the spice. Even my friend who doesn't normally like poke couldn't stop eating it. For our mains, we got the Mahi with Lemon Capers and Katsu and Kalua Pork Combo. The mac salad that came with both was so creamy and delicious. The only thing about my mahi plate is that the creamy sauce overflowed into the rice, which was fine because rice goes with anything in my opinion, but it also went into the mac salad so I couldn't appreciate the flavor on its own. Otherwise, the fish was fork tender and squeezing the fresh lemon on top added the perfect tang. The katsu could've used some sauce but it every piece was crispy so the texture was great. I think the lava chicken might be a better option since it comes coated in sauce. The kalua pork was tender and had a natural savory flavor that was delicious with the rice. I can't forget dessert! The malasadas were truly some of the best I've had and I actually prefer them over the ones I had at Leonard's in Hawaii, but that's a personal preference. I liked that these had a crispy exterior and the interior was a good balance of fluffy and dense which made me want to keep grabbing more. Also, if you're getting a drink, I recommend sharing it with more than one person. We got the Lilikoi Lemonade and it was massive, 32 oz to be exact. Overall, the food quality was amazing and you can tell they make everything fresh and take the utmost care. Unfortunately, the wait time was not the best. If they told us in advance that our order would take one hour I wouldn't have minded. However, we waited in front of the store with no updates about our order, and the people who ordered after us started getting their food first. So, if you visit, just make sure to ask about the wait time in advance so that if it's long, you can go on a nice walk or maybe go down to the beach.
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Delicious! There was one guy opening when we went and there wasn't an rice or mac salad ready but he was super nice and gave us fries instead. He doesn't look like much but he took our order and made all the food and all of it was fantastic.
google avatar

Irene D.

Yelp
Food was amazing! Great portion and full of flavors like I'm on the BIG island! Ambiance could be better especially if you want to dine in. But just take it to go and enjoy your meal by the beach down the street! Service could use some help especially on a busy lunch hour with the phones ringing. They forgot a couple things on my order but they kept it professional and were kind.
google avatar

Michelle N.

Yelp
If you're craving Hawaiian Food, Homestyle Hawaiian is definitely a top option for me! Note that this location is not an optimal dine-in spot! I would also highly recommend ordering ahead of time as I encountered the same issues as other reviews have mentioned on waiting time. - PARKING - Super limited street parking, many spots were taken and we had to park a block down which wasn't terrible, but something to keep in mind! - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - It's really only a menu board and cash register inside, and once you order they ask that you wait outside. There's some outdoor patio ledges to eat on, but we had to bring out the stools ourselves. We were the second to order after they had just opened, and then maybe 3 other parties came after us. We were the very last to get our food, after almost an hour of waiting. I saw that there was only one girl working at the time, and another staff member came 30 minutes after opening, so maybe they were late and she wasn't prepared to handle so many customers at once. I still wish there was a bit more communication for the delay. - FOOD - Ahi Poke (MP): I was shocked to see this as an appetizer, so I had to give it a try. I got the Original flavor to test it out first, but I think the Spicy would be more up my alley. The Poke itself wasn't bad at all! Surprisingly good in my opinion. I think I still enjoy the Deep Fried Spam Musubi more, but this was a nice change up! 2-Item Combo ($17.95): I always get this option as my entree cravings change every time! So I love the choice in picking the two I want that day. I usually rotate between Katsu, Teriyaki Chicken and Kalbi. I usually get their Mac Salad and Greens! Malasadas ($8.00): If you can, eat these immediately fresh!!! They're so pillowy and soft, and have the perfect amount of sugar dusted on top. Unfortunately if you leave them, the heat will melt the sugar and it will no longer be crusted. So definitely keep that in mind when you order these!! Hand Shaken Lemonade ($5.50): You can choose up to two flavors! I got Lilikoi and Strawberry, and it was super refreshing!!! Can't believe they give 32oz too - definitely worth!!! - OVERALL - Food quality is great, and portion sizes are great! I just think they need to work on their food prep, or perhaps hire a few more staff members to help with any rushes!

Yelp
Great service with delicious food and very generous portions. One plate will be good for two people. Katsu's super crispy and the garlic shrimp super saucy and garlicky. The only thing is the parking can be kinda tricky depending on availability on the street you might need to circle a couple times if you're not just taking out. Super close to the beach so perfect for a picnic meal.
google avatar

Nina N.

Yelp
I ordered the mahi with lemon and capers. It came in a really heavy cream sauce that overpowered the whole dish. I love this place, but this is not a winner. Next time I will stick with the shrimp. Also the rice was super gummy and overcooked. The cooks weren't on their A-game that day, but normally it is really good.

Yelp
How in the world did y'all get grade A. I got my food and there was few hair in our mac salad and the steak wasnt all that. They gave me a new fresh order....that was cool but no way for me.

Yelp
This place was a great find! I'm from out of town and wanted some poke! I got 2 pokes( one spicy, one original) and fried spam masubi. Everything was delicious!

Yelp
Was craving some Hawaiian food on our trip down to SD and found this place on help and decided to give them a try. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and the gentleman at the counter helped us with the menu which was really nice. We ended up ordering the shrimp plate and some fried musubi. The shrimp plate was pretty good the Mac salad was good as well was probably expecting a little more flavor but still good. And the fried musubi was delicious! Those are a must try. Overall I will most likely come back here when back in the area.
google avatar

Liz F.

Yelp
This was a great spot! It's a tiny little hope in the wall spot with no seating inside. They'll have you wait outside while your food was made I ordered the chicken katsu plate... which was so much food! It would have been enough to share. It was delicious.
google avatar

Kathleen L.

Yelp
Small, hole in the wall establishment with a few seats to eat your food in the front area. Service: 2/5 I had a very awkward encounter with the girl at the register. She seemed to be deathly sick but showed up to work anyway. Lol, it was an aide exchange of very few words. Food: 3.5/5 The poke does not taste good at all; it didn't taste fresh. The fried spam musubi was an absolute killer and came with the best dipping sauces! It made up for the bad poke. I wouldn't come back here again unfortunately.
google avatar

Suri Y.

Yelp
The deep fried spam musubi here is sooo good. They have a great food options here as well. Parking is difficult, you'll have to find some on the street. It just sometimes takes a long time to get your food/you might have to remind them of your order. There's no seating around just tables you can hang out at to wait or eat your food standing up if you'd like. But you're close to the beach so might as well grab it to-go and take it to the beach!
google avatar

Maggie W.

Yelp
Kind service, not a lot of seating though. Food was delicious, my friend got the chicken katsu, it was the favorite. Great macaroni salad.

Yelp
Small, hole in the wall. The food is comparable to Hawaii's plate lunches. Very few on the mainland live up to what it's like in Hawai'i and this is one of the better ones out here in So Cal. I tend to rate based on Kalua pork, Mac salad, and teriyaki beef and they do a good job not to drench the meat in the densely sweet teriyaki sauces out here on the mainland. They also serve Filipino style lumpia which perfectly complements a good meat over rice meal. The malasadas were good but, don't expect it to taste like Leonard's or other malasadas on the islands. That said, they were still good and such a treat. As for the space, I'd order to go unless you're just there for a quick bite by yourself or one other. The stools are stacked out front where there is a small wooden counter. The wait was a bit long, maybe 20 minutes but, that just meant they were preparing fresh food and you can see them cooking if you're inside. To really sit down, relax, and enjoy your meal, I would recommend taking it to go.

Yelp
The chicken was dry and they unfortunately got my order wrong. Nice people though! DEFINITELY get the malasadas here and the spam musubi was superior

Yelp
I've given this location a chance on several occasions. It's the same unfortunate story every time, poor good food, poor quality staffing. I called a to order a combo, katsu fried chicken and teriyaki beef. I asked for extra sidenof sauces. When I arrived, no sauce was given AND there was NONE on my teriyaki beef. They placed my beef, on top of my fried chicken in the closed "to go" container. Essentially steaming what was supposed to be crispy chicken. There was no soy sauce given or offered and the Hawaiian Mac Salad was bland

Yelp
My favorite Hawaiian spot in SD. Their deep fried musubi is to die for, so unique and full of flavor! Their Kalua Pork is juicy and so delicious. The chicken is perfectly fried. The lemonade is refreshing and those malasadas are dreamy! Portion sizes have always been massive and the people there are kind and welcoming.

Yelp
Homestyle Hawaiian has great service and food.we ordered online for pick but when we got there we changed our mind and decided to dine in with our take out containers. The food is tasty and they give you big portions. I had the lava chicken it's the right amount of spice. The establishment was well decorated and comfortable. Highly recommended !

Yelp
It was just okay, we were a bit disappointed. The flavor is lacking and bbq meat was dry. Mac is just okay. Customer service is superb though but this will be a one time stop for us. Thank you

Yelp
Up until today I've never had authentic Hawaiian food. After eating at Homestyle Hawaiian I realize that my life had been lacking until now. My son and I went snorkeling at La Jolla Cove and were pretty hungry so I decided to get off the tourist area and check this place out. It didn't disappoint! They had a board with staff favorites so we both got the spam musubi and the beef short rib. The meals came with rice and a macaroni salad. The short ribs were out of this world. We both tried to use the fork and knife provided but shortly ditched them and went full on fingers to eat the ribs. The sauce was incredible. My son was exclaiming that it was the best thing he's eaten all week. It was so incredibly good. It was delicious and we really enjoyed it.

Yelp
Service was horrible. Don't come here. Aloha doesn't exist here. The shorter white girl at the front just rude as hell. They sold me water that they didn't have. Only started cooking the kalbi 25 minutes after I ordered it and they legit move so so so slow. Idk how they're still in business but if this passes as Hawaiian food in PB, just don't even bother. The tables are dirty, the chairs are also dirty, service sucks. Big Braddah combo only came with one scoop of rice or maybe they forgot to put the other one on there? Loco moco gravy is runny and nonexistent. I took a pic so y'all can see. Shame to call this place Hawaiian.
