We stopped in on a Monday evening. We ordered curry chicken, curry goat and a side of jerk chicken. Meals come with rice, cabbage and plantain. Our food was AMAZING! Lisa, was busy and kept it all together. She was taking orders from all directions, and stayed calm and attentive while we sat at the bar. We would’ve ate here daily if we weren’t leaving the next day. We will come here every time we are in town! Excellent! Compliments to the chef!

We visited while on vacation because of the high ratings. They did not disappoint. This great Jamaican restaurant feels like home, for sure. The food was amazing; we ordered medium curry goat and medium jerk chicken. The portions were very good. We definitely could not finish it in one sitting. We will be back.

First time coming here and honestly blown away in how delicious the food was. The oxtail wasn't that great and lacked flavor but the brown strew chicken was bomb!!! And the beef patty was also off the chain. Definitely stop by here and try the dishes you won't be disappointed, other then the oxtail

The 6$ MAC And Cheese Is Disrespectful, No Love On It At All. Oxtail Flavor Was Nice But Not As Tender As They Need To Be. Very Salty Couldn't Taste A Lick Of Coconut Milk In The Rice And Peas And Not Many Peas Seemed More Like Double Rice No Peas. The Cashier Wasn’t Really Into It Seem Like She Rather Be Else Where. Didn’t Smile Wasn’t Very Engaging At All Actually. Didn’t Even Ask What Sides I Wanted Or Would I Like A Soda Or Something. This Was My First Time Here!

Lisa the cashier needs to fix her attitude. Ambiance is like in the carribean. The owner has a extremely pleasant attitude. Seating arrangements is very pleasant as well. Nice digital kiosk upon entering establishment.

While on vacation here, we decided to try some Jamaican food. Heard this was one of the best places in the area and they definitely did not disappoint. We had to get more food to take home while at the restaurant. Very delicious and great portion size too.

WAY overpriced for what you're getting. Jerk chicken shouldn't be $26 especially for the amount of food you're getting and the cashier had a bad attitude. Won't be back and won't recommend

First time visiting and I must say I was extremely impressed. Food was fresh and well seasoned. Customer service was beyond great. Price was reasonable. Every time I come to Myrtle Beach I will stop by and bring more family.

I was on a Birthday trip with my mom and someone from a gift shop recommended this spot. We were not disappointed with the Escovitch Fish dinner and we are Jamaicans...so we always check for the authenticity of foods from our country. Every ting was delicious @ Homestyle

The vibes are carribean vibes. It close to the beach as well. However, they was sold out of Brown chicken

Huge portion sizes at this restaurant! We ordered lunch to go based on the Jamaican servers at our breakfast spot. Restaurant is on the smaller side but tables are spaced out. Very clean establishment.

Are you kidding me!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? COME ON NOWWWW!! Oxtail stew over rice and plaintains and veggies. OMG!!! Taking a bite of that yummy goodness just makes you wanna get up and just praise on that cook. PRAISE. Oh you think im exaggerating?! NOPE! It's the kind of dish you be saying. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE!? Lift your soul, make you wanna just grind and get dirty on the dance floor kind of meal. It's the type that makes me pray on my knees and Thank God for your skills, your blessed culinary arts. It's food that makes me think of crazy ideas where you. YES, YOU! should be protected by bodyguards of the world then any Political parties of the world. THATS RIGHT! I said it! The curry goat was as good. But not as good as the Ox tail. But that's just my opinion. It's a definitely come back for me!

Food was delicious nice authentic vibe but service could have been a little more pleasant especially being in the center of a tourist area!

I had to pop in before heading to the airport and I wish I had more time to order lunch! I just got a beef patty because it was still their breakfast hours. The Pattie's were full n hot. The service was good. The restaurant decor definitely had an island feel. If you're in the area check them out!

100% authentic love this place every thing is great drove 5 hrs just to come to this restaurant and I will be doing it again !

I ordered the ox tails. The were seasoned properly. The Mac and cheese was not good. Very bland with no cheese. The ambiance inside is very nicely decorated. The service was quick I didn't wait long for my food. Nice size amount. I will come back and check it out.

Horrible, they had no food left when I walked in at 7:30pm. Smh. Drove 30 mins here and to be told their no food left at a restaurant is outrageous and uncalled for.

This was the most perfect pit stop after a long beach walk. I forgot how amazing a cold Red Stripe tastes when thirsty. It paired perfect with the curried chicken hand pie appetizer. The dough was a cross between a pastry and a cracker. This tender crust allowed the chicken shine through. My wife got the jerk chicken. This was different than any jerk chicken I have had before. Complex flavor profile with perfect heat finish. The chicken was soooo tender. This was my first time trying oxtail and I completely understand why it is one of their top sellers. Allspice forward flavor profile with melt in your mouth meat. The rice and peas were probably best rice dish I've ever had. The plantains and sautéed cabbage paired perfectly with the slightly spicy meats. Yes. 5 stars. Irie mon!!!

Amazing food and excellent service! My food was seasoned to perfection and served hot! We went for lunch and grabbed it to go! I had the oxtails and my husband had the jerk chicken and it did not disappoint! Friendly and quick! Can't wait to go back!

The food was so good. Probably the best oxtail my boyfriend and I have ever had. It was all so fresh and hot. The beef patty was really good too. Tables were clean and the service was great and fast. Loved it. Wish we had this place back home.

Hanged up on me when I called. Then Ordered food for pick up through Grub hub but nothing was ready when I arrived 25 later. They hasn't even started proceeding order. Told me I'd have to wait 25 more minutes. Deplorable service.

This place had good reviews so had to check it out. Very pleased with the decision to come. Nice atmosphere, a lot of locals eating there, and the lady that took our order was very friendly. Tried the curry goat and oxtail. Very good!

Great, authentic Jamaican food. I was in Jamaica last year and this is the real deal. Hard to believe this is in Myrtle Beach. Jerk chicken with rice and beans was very good, worth the price. Just not in a great location in the city.

Hands down the best Jamaican food in Myrtle Beach. My husband longs for food from his home and we definitely get it here. They just started serving breakfast and WOW! Peanut Porridge!!!! the staff is so nice , very clean environment! A must have if you're in th MB area

I was feeling like some Jamaican food and was in the area and decided to give this place a try, and I'm so glad I did! The food was amazing! I ordered the stewed pork, rice and peas and veggies. My mom ordered the same sides with oxtails. Meats were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Lots of flavor and the portions are very good. Inside was nicely decorated and the lady behind the counter was nice. I'm from South Florida and where I'm at there is literally tins of Jamaica restaurants and this one year has won over a few hands down! So if you in the area definitely stop here, you wi t be disappointed trust me. Lata

The BEST Jamaican Restaurant food I have had in these United States to date. Every single time we come to Myrtle Beach, I will make sure I go here to eat. Food was so good, I didn't get a chance to take a picture.

I walked in I thought it was warm inside however ordered, the food came out nice and hot. The oxtails are reasonably price, so I ordered that. I am also on a quest to find the best Jamaican fried chicken, so I ordered fried chicken also it was juicy and delicious, perfectly fried and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The only problem I had is I directly tipped an employee that worked there and a manager (I assume) literally walked over to her and took it from her hand and shoved it into a tip jar. He did it so aggressively I apologize that I didn't know the policy. His response "it's alright" (you gotta love Jamaicans) I then proceeded to ask the employee (privately) and she said they share tips... but again his energy was way too aggressive for that $4 dollars. *This should've been 5 stars but they need to work on inside the restaurant.

The food here is always great. Of course my favorite thing is most expensive thing (oxtails). The place is a vibe, conveniently located at the mouth of Myrtle. The service is always good, the owners as well as all employees are awesom

Homestyle Restaurant has been catering one of our dinners for the past few weeks -- for 70 people a week! They have been fantastic! And Marvein, the owner, has been nothing but wonderful. The food is fantastic (ox tails and jerk chicken, fried plantains, rice and beans, and cabbage) and their service has been outstanding. The food is infused with their Carribean love and joy. Love this place located in the heart of downtown Myrtle Beach. It's a must-go for anyone visiting.

(4.5 stars) This place is on many best of myrtle beach lists and it really lives up to the hype. The jerk chicken is superb, I love how the jerk rub has some heat to it! And the chicken itself is moist and falls off the bone. Only thing I wasn't crazy about was the rice, some sauce or heat or other mix-ins might have helped elevate it. Nevertheless, will definitely get this every time I'm in Myrtle beach.

So! This must be the cleanest, lightest and sharpest Jamaican food I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Jamaican food though delicious, is typically heavy and could leave you feeling weighted down. Even bloated. Homestyle Jamaican restaurant food had all the great taste and comforting elements without the side effects. The rice and peas was fluffy and aromatic. There was a hint of herb/spice maybe cardamom or allspice? Can't put my finger on it but it definitely helped to cleanse my pallet. The oxtail was surprisingly lean. I mean there was zero fat on the meat! The sauce/gravy was light and also contained a spice which elevated the dish. I ate some food immediately and the rest several hours later. To my surprise the ox tail gravy was not coagulated and had not hardened with fat. I did not need to warm it up to enjoy. The food was delightful! 2 thumbs way up to the chef. I can't wait to go back so I can try the curry goat.

And we're back!! Brought a good friend of mines along with me from Philly this time, and she was really impressed with her meal! Home style you've done it again! Steamed fish and oxtails for the win

I have nothing but positive remarks for this place. You can sit and eat or you can go find some type of scenery and go to work on some of the best Patties I've ever had I had both spicy beef and the chicken patty I also goat the curry goat with rice and peas l, cabbage and plantain. Wash down with a ginger soursop (however you spell it). Food here is phenomenal and you will not be disappointed in whatever you get. BIGggggggg vybe ting

I have never tried Jamaican food before but I'm so glad I did and that I was at this restaurant! The curry and jerk chicken was fall off the bone tender, and multi-dimensional in taste. The sides were hardly sides at all! The rice and vegetables, plantains, and cabbage all spoke for themselves in flavor. There is a lot of love and home cooking in this food!

Got takeout while on vacation, was delicious. Jerk chicken was moist and flavorful. Rice and pigeon peas were really good. Their cabbage salad, that comes with the meals, was surprisingly good as well. I was expecting it to be bland but it was not, quite tasty actually. Food I give 5 stars. Friendly service as well, so 5 stars there also. The only negative was the host/bartender was not wearing a mask which is mandated in the Myrtle Beach area for Covid. That was disappointing so I would give them a poor rating for Covid protocols.

This place is spot on. Jerk chicken was off the charts... best I've had in quite some time! And the plantains were oh so delicious! My 13 yr old son cleaned his entire plate and said its the best meal he's had thus far while here in MB. Staff were great, food took about 15-20 mins . Next time I'll do the snapper, which comes with a disclaimer LOL... I was told it takes at least 35 mins to prep/cook; which I'm sure will be worth the wait.

Don't skip this place it's the best , real jamaican food . It might look small when you see it but they definitely have the best food!

Food is good. Sadly every call in pick up doesnt matter. Takes 30 minutes minimum. Orders are never ready. Been here multiple times. $50 minimum each time which I have no problems with but the wait and delays. No more not again. If you have time to sit and wait even for pick up orders. Enjoy.

Service was ok, but the portions for the price was not good at all. We order jerk chicken plate and also oxtails plate,which had 4 or 5 very small pieces. The taste was not season well.

My wife and I stopped in before closing. All they had was the ox tails and fried chicken. This was by far the best food we've eaten! The ox tails were nice and tender. The chicken was amazing. The Jamaican sodas were so refreshing. Stop on by you won't be disappointed!!!

Homestyle Restaurant is GOODT! The food is so flavorful, the ambience is clean and nice and the people are attentive and very friendly! We have gotten almost everything on the menu and it is all tasty! I didn't get a chance to take a picture, but we have also had the Stew Pork and that too was delicious! Portion sizes are NICE. Even with the oxtail . You know sometimes people can be stingy with the oxtail...not them! You definitely get your bang for your buck. They also have set up for vibing and liming, but with the COVID restrictions and social distancing, this may be put on hold. We will definitely be a regular fixture at this restaurant! #BlackOwnedBusiness

They were sold out but referred us to another local spot. Called for us to make sure they had what we wanted. Ordered a Beef Patty and it was AMAZIN! I'm from the Bronx, I KNOW PATTIES! This was VERY GOOD! I can imagine why they have rave reviews. Had to leave one! Great job! Next time will come early for a real plate!

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant at the urging of our daughters and we were NOT disappointed. My husband had the fish and I had the oxtails it was seasoned to perfection and very tender. We even ordered plates to go for later. The dining room was clean and the gentleman behind the counter greeted us upon arrival and was pleasant . We will definitely return in the future.
