This coffee shop has the best atmosphere - inside AND outside! The inside was very clean and modern. Baked goods (cinnamon) were fresh and delicious as was the hot chocolate! Friendly staff. The outside was my favorite part: Great for people-watching (large corner lot). Heaters were installed ON the awnings, which covered the entire table, and not just on a tall pole on part of the table. The best part was the doggy Biscuit Bar - awesome, varied dog treats and water on an outdoor cart. See photos This coffee shop has thought of everything!!!

We had two toasts (Mexican and Greek), one turkey blt wrap, one matcha and one americano. Toasts had rich flavors, especially the Mexican. Coffee is good. Service was fast and friendly. It was crowded when we arrived at 2 pm but still no wait to order and food came quickly. Seemed to me like mostly locals. Nice atmosphere with good people watching.

Have been a customer for years now. Love the vibe, location, pickup has typically been good some hit or misses. Always think of this place when the weather is lovely on a leisurely day. ** Suggestions** It’d be great if adding more gluten free options to the menu were considered. Gluten free muffins and biscuits would be excellent for a light grab on a easygoing morning. As well as keeping the stock up for the gluten free donuts, every time I go to order they’re always out of stock first thing. May I suggest coconut and (or) toasted coconut gluten free donuts in addition ? It’s worth the shot,..since I’d buy them all.

We visited the first time Glencoe and the coffee shop. We arrived and preferred to support local coffee shop before to Starbuck. We ordered a Banana & Strawberry smoothie in Water, the result water smoothie. We asked for the return payment, and they negated that option. They offered to make it again, but the fruits aren't fresh. All of those are frozen. It'll water, by the way. Ah, Important, It can be better too, if you ask the customer the size before to add the maximum price. We lost practically 13$, including the tip.

Very relaxed alternative to Starbucks. Coffee and breakfast options are excellent. Had the blueberry bran muffin and a regular drip coffee. Service was speedy even though it was early morning on a week day. Loved the indoor seating with screened windows, so you feel like you're part of the outdoor action. Will definitely stop here again when I'm in the area.

I love a giant pretzel. I’ll visit again.

The location services and hospitality increases the positive impact for business and consumers. The area offers corporate meeting and teleworking access. Business services with ethical lawful services and hospitality always progress even during challenging economic conditions. Clients received the various food and beverages and they were pleased. The location should consider military and veterans families discounts throughout the year.

Google
Hometown is the heart of Glencoe. Not only is the amazing food and service a reason that the north shore loves Hometown, but it is the love that owners Julie and Lou put into making Hometown special. Having worked w their event space (Uptown) I know that that same attention comes from Emily too and the family energy goes into everything they do. Their ultimate product is “community” which they are exceptional at building.

Yelp
I ordered a latte and scone to go. The pastry was tender and delicious. The place was crowded but the line moves quickly and their process is really orderly. There's a sign on the door to let you know how long it will take for food or coffee. The space is light and airy, with marble tables and comfortable seats. There's loads of outdoor seating as well. The staff was wonderful. Efficient and friendly.

Yelp
Went here one time before and had a bad experience. Last time we got coffees and pastries, the coffee was watered down and pastries not good, stale. Was looking forward trying again given the good reviews. Ordered the matcha smoothie and two honey lattes, one hot one cold, and the monster bar. Coffee was not good, super weak and watered down, and neither of us liked the honey latte. Tasted like warm oat milk. Matcha smoothie was only ok. Very thin and watery. Monster bar wasn't great, it was fairly dry and stale. Tasted old, just like the last pastries I got here. So why the good reviews? What am I doing wrong? Should I get the lunch savory foods instead of drinks and pastries? Not sure but definitely won't be going back for coffee and pastries unfortunately.

Yelp
11 am on a Tuesday morning and the place is packed. For over an hour these three girls that were together took up three separate tables to do their school work, draw on their iPads and sip a drink. Somehow this isn't right. Maybe if the ownership cut off Wi-Fi after an hour, the girls might get up and leave so that people who want to sit down and have a lunch may find a place to sit.
google avatar

Yelp
Consistent service for this coffee place whether you are at this location here in Glencoe or in Winnetka. I always get the same drink when I go and it is consistent.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is so obnoxious. Snotty employees who won't even smile at you and have absolutely zero sense of urgency. The most annoying, self-important clientele taking up entire tables with their one laptop so they can check Facebook. The entire café is crowded and cramped and there is no signage indicating where to wait or pick up orders, people are constantly trampling all over each other and stumbling over chairs and tables. The multiple employees handling what appears to be the pick-up area seem particularly apathetic and unengaged in their work, spending minutes having long conversations with each other only to briefly pause and read the receipt for each order multiple times before finally registering who it belongs to and buzzing their pager. Food is okay, coffee is strong, prices are too high.. Just not worth the annoyance.

Yelp
Great service fast fresh. Good energy . Yummy hot cocoa, had a cup of lentil soup with fresh warm bread. Big cup 8 oz added salt . Was not bad . It's 8° over here we went to Glencoe Beach and looked at the water for about 5 to 10 mintues Drink warm wine ahead .

Yelp
This coffee shop has everything: great food that reflects the dietary sensibilities of the community, a great, young vibe, reasonable prices, and a really nice staff. I can't wait for the one in Northbrook to open.

Yelp
This place appears to be a gathering spot for all. Whether you have coffee, a sandwich or a salad -it's a delight to be here. It's filled with people of all ages, babies, puppies and more. They do have heaters outside as well. Enjoyable and pleasant staff as well.

Yelp
Nice place to have a coffee with friends or just hangout by yourself. Nice atmosphere! Service was nice. 8oz fresh juice was about $10, and a bit costly. But I treated myself for a cup of yummy juice. Wish they had a bit more Healthy bakeries since I prefer gluten free food.

Yelp
Our favorite local breakfast place. Food and ambience are terrific. It's so easy to go to, just go up to the counter to order and the staff brings it out to your table. The iced matcha latte is great to get in the largest size in a to-go cup and sip it all morning.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is so cute. The staff are nice and attend to you. My chai latte was delicious. The cookie was great - soft on the inside and super chocolate-y. The dining area was kept clean. There was someone going around cleaning all the empty tables inside and outside. Overall vibes were nice - it wasn't loud. Some music playing and people talking. They even have a little "biscuit bar" cart outside with dog treats for anyone with a dog passing by. The only hiccup was that they ran out of cream at the coffee station but it's almost closing time so we didn't want to bother them with it, but I'm sure they would've gladly given us cream.

Yelp
First time here & loved it! We ate outside - tables are definitely hard to come by as it's so busy! I had the berry bowl and it was the best smoothie bowl I've ever had. Inside is cute, and they have a large pastry display that looks incredible. Very reasonably priced, and the ingredients are fresh and delicious!

Varisha A.

Yelp
Soo many healthy options! The caprese roast was filling and very fresh. I got the honey oat latte which had a nice flavorful, and a good level of sweetness. Great balance of milk and coffee. All servers were extremely nice and offered great service. Great seating indoor and outdoor as well!

Yelp
Here's what you need to know: As much as I'd like to give this cafe a 5 star review owing to the ambiance and customer service, the food just doesn't rise to the level. All the food items are about serviceable but none are delicious. The outdoor and indoor areas are very welcoming and well laid out. Good music and decor. Service is very friendly and the energy of the patrons is lovely.

Yelp
I must say this coffee place has the best scones The cinnamon scones are awesome My daughter loved her latte I had brewed coffee which was good They were very busy but friendly and helpful explaining the choices of food if asked They have indoor and outdoor seating which I chose because we won't have that many more awesome days I went to their other location also Both are nice They are located in high end areas it is just a matter of which area you chose They both have ample street parking in the area You do not pay for parking but watch the signs Read them I mean Enjoy
google avatar

Yelp
Everything about this places makes me happy! The food! The vibe! The friendly staff! I've only stopped in once with a friend and we had such a pleasant experience, I have been trying to find a reason to venture out towards that area again.

Yelp
One of my favourite places to get coffee. Great dark roast blends if you like your coffee that way. Specialty drinks are also very good but you want to go early if you don't like to wait. They can get pretty busy especially on weekends. They're pretty good about posting wait times on a sign by the door. Their pastries are good, fresh, but might not wow you. Service is friendly. Kind of like the clean white washed look to the place as well. There's ample seating inside as well as outside. Since I was attacked by too many cicadas when there last I chose to sit indoors otherwise outside is nice.

Yelp
Cool place in downtown Glencoe for coffee and breakfast. Hometown is less expensive than it looks. It's certainly not cheap but surprisingly affordable for this fancy ass suburb. For sure people want coffee. They can also get fruit bowls and avocado toast. A pretty crowded place at breakfast. It's hard to get any work done here. This isn't a good place for that. Anyway, it's worth coming here for the coffee and food. The coffee is pretty typical and may actually be the least interesting thing. It's about $2 for an espresso. Of course, then add some for non dairy milk. Besides breakfast, it's also open at lunch. I got the Harvest Kale Salad. It's $11 for a ton of stuff. Fresh and healthy. This is mostly kale with a mustard dill dressing, topped with pumpkin seeds, quinoa, red cabbage, and sweet potatoes. It's like eating a harvest. This is for the quality actually a good price. Good value for what you get. It has coffee along with bowls and pastries. There's a few things for vegans.

Yelp
Simply delicious and well executed. The bagel for the sandwich was a tad small, but delicious. Chips as a side instead of something more breakfasty would have been appreciated as well. Avocado toast was nearly perfect except for the out of season and less than ripe tomato.
google avatar

Ali C.

Yelp
Wonderful coffee shop with plenty of street parking. It took a long time for our drink and food order to be ready as they appear to be short staffed with employees in training. Once the food was ready it was pleasant. Not enough seating but there was outdoor seating available.
google avatar

Yelp
I go on bike rides along the North Branch trail. This is a great place not too far from the trail where I can grab great coffee/drinks or even a snack. They are constantly busy with locals and visitors but has plenty of seating and bike racks. Must visit!

Yelp
When you walk into Hometown there was this warm comforting feeling of home. The staff greets you with a smile and makes suggestions based on what you like. We started our morning with a coffee & matcha latte (both of which were delicious!) and shared a Apple Almond Toast! . The sweet and sour taste from the Granny Smith apple made us want more because it felt like it wasn't enough! It was super light but also just enough to fill us up. One of my favorite parts is in the Chicagoland area, we just don't know what kind of weather we'd get. Outside of Hometown in addition to their seating indoors, they have heated huts that have comfy lounge chairs and a tv! Hometown is located in the heart of Glencoe so we were able to walk around to enjoy the boutiques afterwards! It's a great place for you to pop in and get a refreshment and a quick bite to eat, or if you want to bring your computer and sit down to get some work done.

Yelp
Seems every 2 years I review Hometown lol. Good as ever. Enjoyed my yogurt and granola (see pic), delicious, if not a slightly small serving size, loved all the fresh fruit and sweet honey. My dining partner seemed to enjoy her smoked salmon avocado toast. The lattes are very good. Indoor and outdoor seating, street parking.

Yelp
This is an adorable spot in the quaint downtown area of Glencoe. The inside is bright and airy and there's plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy on a beautiful day. We stopped in for an array of drinks and a snack but plan on returning for breakfast. There was a handful of different baked goods by the register that looked too good to pass up, so we grabbed the s'mores cookie to split. The cookie dough was great and it had bits of tasty milk chocolate and scorched marshmallow. A winner for sure! For the drinks, we preferred the smoothies and juices over the caramel latte and would highly recommend their tropical escape, strawberry Orange banana smoothies as well as the immunity booster shot.

Chloe Z.

Yelp
Cute place! Food is amazing! Service was quick and easy! I really liked the environment and open lighting and seating!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious breakfast/brunch/lunch options! Their avo toasts are delightful - satisfying without being overly heavy. Coffee drinks are beautifully presented when you dine-in too. And of course, baked goods and smoothies are top notch.

Yelp
What a great café! This coffee shop/bakery/eatery so cute. I went during brunch time and they had lots of people working there. Every employee I interacted with were nice and helpful. I ordered the Kale Me Maybe smoothie. It was so refreshing and good! Everything on the menu sounds delicious and I can't wait to go back and try something new.

LeTasha F.

Yelp
Cute upbeat cafe! I love their soups and smoothies. The staff is always friendly and welcoming!

Yelp
Love their food and drinks. Tad bit crowded but still worth visiting. They have the variety of things from coffee to pastries to sandwiches.

Yelp
This spot reminded me of Tatte Bakery in Massachusetts with its fast service and sensationally good food!! Originally my sis and I were just looking for a cuppa coffee but saw the pics of the food and just had to try some. I got a pumpkin spice latte to which was mega tasty and my sis tried a hazelnut cappuccino, nice and hot. Their baked goods are abundant - the display case had me feeling some type of way lol the menu is huge! I changed my mind a few times and settled with the bacon, egg cheesy bagel melt. We don't have many bagel spots in the south so to enjoy a well made bagel was a treat for me. The side of chips were good, just the right amount of salt and oiliness. I liked how they added an apple slice too, definitely would prefer more apples less chips next time. Seating can get packed but there's outdoor seating as well with some spots having heat lamps. Learned there's a filtered refill water station so was happy to see that accessible self-serve option. So glad I could try out this spot, an absolute delight and very fast service.

Yelp
Great food and little pricy but worth it. Portions smaller size but still really good would recommend!
google avatar

Neha A.

Yelp
Cute place for coffee and breakfast / lunch! I loved the outdoor seating and thought the staff was very nice. I ordered a matcha latte, which was okay although it had clumps of matcha at the bottom. For food I tried the berry bowl and caprese avocado toast. Both were good, but somehow lacked a bit of flavor. I wasn't wowed by my meal although I very much appreciate the health-forward slant.
google avatar

Dennis L.

Yelp
Very busy and trendy cafe with modern decor. We looked forward to a nice lunch since our recent positive visit to their Winnetka location. We ordered a banana espresso smoothie, a latte, salmon and caprese sandwich. The smoothie lacked flavor as it was over-iced, the sandwiches used a thick slice of bread which dominated the entire flavor profile. The salmon was fine, however, the mozzarella on caprese was rubbery and old. There is a reason for serving thin slices of crispy sourdough bread with caprese. It does not absorb moisture as fast as thick half- toasted bread, and it allows the caprese to be the star of the dish. Also, there is a reason to use fresh mozzarella instead of the white rubber which is currently on the menu. The service was fast, and the latte well made. Also, the balsamic was pleasant, and basil fresh and bright. The execution made for an unpleasant experience overall. We'll travel a little further south to get a better bite at the Winnetka location.

Yelp
Like many others in the world I'm currently quarantined with a busy job and 3 crazy children. I"ve never needed coffee so badly so a big shout- out to the Rubins (the force behind Hometown) for keeping me caffeinated. I'll admit that my guilty pleasure is the Starbucks nitro, but have come to love Hometown's nitro and cold brew over the past few weeks (which seems more like years). And even more than their coffee I love their food. The berry bowl has become my favorite and the silver lining to having to eat it at home is that no one sees all the seeds that get stuck in my teeth. I also love all the local products they sell...my new favorite being the everybody eat sea salt chia chips. My apologies if no one else can get there here since I keep purchasing them all! One of the owners, Lou and Julie, seems to always be there working alongside their staff who are taking all the proper precautions of wearing masks, social distancing, etc. They are no longer open for walk ins, but you can grab your order from their massive window or they'll run it out to your car. Their easy to use app also makes it easy to order ahead.
google avatar

Lanny B.

Yelp
Great coffee and community vibe. The best part is the 15-20 tables on the sidewalk in front with heat lamps when it's cool. Mostly though, it's sunny and warm and delightful. Great service, solid coffee and a place to hang out and talk.
google avatar

Bailey M.

Yelp
We rented one of their little outdoor houses ($20) for 1.5 hours-ish. It smelled like farts maybe because it was musty? I liked the idea of it but the smell was pretty bad. There were heaters or you could leave the door open. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We shared the cheese fondue. It came with hard and soft pretzels, bread, apples, carrots and celery. It was very tasty! I would definitely try the chocolate fondue too. I had the daily fix smoothie, it was well balanced and tasted fresh. I would highly recommend! I had the bacon egg and cheese bagel. It came with chips which was a surprise. It was good as well! I also tried my friends hummus. Super tasty but I wish it came with pita instead of all vegetables. The vegetables were cucumbers, carrots, and celery. The portion size was great. Overall great prices, food, and service. I would definitely come back!

Yelp
This is the crowdest place on a Saturday morning. People cough on top you so you're bound to get sick. When I first walked in this teenage stared at me. I assumed that she was working there but she wasn't. I ordered my drink and it tasted like coffee. It was supposed to be decaf iced mocha with almond milk but it didn't taste like that. It tasted like coffee. The bagel with cream cheese and lox was so good! That was the best part of my breakfast. The owner is so nice and friendly.
google avatar

Armeen A.

Yelp
Love their covid set up! They definitely know what they're doing here. Since indoor dining is currently banned, hometown has several outdoor tables and chairs + adorable heated glass houses you can rent out. You order at the window and they bring your order out to you once it's ready. They also have a selection of smoothies and other goods that I have yet to try. I ordered a hot marshmallow oatmilk latte that was phenomenal and an iced vanilla latte that was also very good. I will definitely be reserving a glass house soon to enjoy coffee and s'mores with my gals!
google avatar

Yvonne Y.

Yelp
Great place for drinks and casual dining. In the winter, they have the green houses and bubble lounges which you can reserve in advance for get togethers. Super popular with tweens and teenagers. Lots of tables on the sidewalk for outdoor dining and staff is always friendly.
google avatar

Jennie M.

Yelp
Had their yummy blueberry muffin today. Sig other surprised me with one since my muffin order from elsewhere fell thru. Very nice surprise. He said he loved it and ha to get me one. It's full of juicy blueberries and the muffin is nice and soft. Not crumbly. Not overly sweet. The topping is a light tasting streusel which gives it a nice little texture.

Jana K.

Yelp
Great smoothies. So so food, could be better. Nice lively ambiance. About 30 min wait to get the food.

Harold J.

Yelp
We've been to both the one in Glencoe and in Winnetka. The espresso drinks are well made, with robust espresso. The bagel sandwiches are fantastic. We had the bacon egg and cheese. The egg is just a flat scrambled egg; the bacon was crispy and there was plenty of it. My only beef is that the place is very slow for food. There is ample warning that informs you of waits, so it is t a surprise. This place will become a staple for a Lazy weekend morning for our family. My honest rating is a 4.5; I rounded up based on the great espresso drink.
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
This was one of our stops during one of my Saturday group bike rides. This place was pretty solid. I had their bacon, egg, and cheese bagel with a cold brew (it was pretty hot out). Everything was pretty delicious but if I had to say anything, it would be that the bagel was slightly smaller than expected and the chips that came with it were a bit oily as well. But, did it eat it all and enjoy it?? yes i did! Plus, the bike ride here was pretty great too! They have plenty of outdoor sitting and plenty of bike racks to leave our bikes! I think it was about 8 - 9 of us that all had a pretty good time (we all made sure to wear masks and the sitting area was big enough that we were able to safely socially distance ourselves.
google avatar

Lindy B.

Yelp
Love this spot! Went on a super crowded Saturday, but the line moved quickly. And somehow the staff managed to stay calm, cool, & collected! Wildly impressed by their composure and friendliness. Going back again to try more of the menu!
google avatar

Ellen K.

Yelp
Even though they recently expanded, this place is always packed on weekends. But it's a great place to do work and study during the week! The coffee is reasonable priced, but the food is a little pricey. (That's Glencoe for ya!) Fortunately, I have discovered that the You're My Bowl Blue is totally worth trying! I've never tasted anything like it - banana, blueberries, almond milk & lavender oil topped with chia seeds, hemp seeds, granola, cinnamon, honey. Absolutely, love the lavender oil. Warning this does make your mouth temporarily blue. :)
google avatar

Jane C.

Yelp
Food and beverages were great; I recommend their lattes and bagel sandwiches! Great place to meet friends or work on your laptop.
google avatar

Henrietta M.

Yelp
First time here, was looking for a local/unique coffee joint which this is. Their mocha latte was tasty, just the right balance of chocolate and coffee. I tried their Greek avocado toast which was great! I liked the olives and red onion on top which added to the flavor for me. They also had a nice lineup of fresh smoothies with fun names which I plan to try more of later. The decor inside is cute and I thought it was so thoughtful that they had the private outdoor seating with clear heated tents. Overall it is a good hangout place to grab a cup of coffee/smoothie and some light breakfast/lunch. I would recommend this cafe to all my friends if they're ever perusing in downtown Glencoe.
google avatar

Lisa L.

Yelp
Love this addition to Glencoe! My go to is their açaí bowl. Busy, bustling place. Also the funfetti cookie is a great treat!
