I've been to this Hometown location several times within the last year. Each time I've been here between 1-2p, thinking it might not be super busy after the lunch trade. I've been wrong each time, which has not diminished my enjoyment of this perky lunch restaurant.
When dining here for lunch, I usually order a sandwich, and in my most recent visit, I chose the tuna sandwich on toasted whole-grain bread (pictured below, right).
My lunch companion ordered a turkey club sandwich on a plain bagel (pictured below, left). He finished the whole sandwich, but said he would order something different next time.
The tuna sandwich was satisfying, and I really liked the thick, chewy multi-grain bread. The potato chips were crunchy and salty, so no complaints there.
One area this restaurant scored extra points was with the large, multi-ply napkins. Readers know this is one of my pet peeves, especially in restaurants that serve soup and dishes with sauces. I love napkins that are large enough to cover my shirt front and thick enough to absorb sprays or spills.
There is not much in this bright space (thanks to plenty of windows) in terms of atmosphere. It's noisy when busy, so private conversations are easy to have.
The food seems fresh and prepared to order, so if you're looking for a reliable and reasonably priced lunch spot, this one may work for you.
