Honest Burgers Borough

A great spot right by the Tube Station! However the service on a Saturday night is pretty poor. Lack of staff which meant food wasn't being turned around as quickly. Food on the other hand is amazing! Loved the burgers and would definitely try another branch to eat there again!

I visited the restaurant today (12.8.25) and made payment at 7:20 pm. I was seated at Table 12, order number 106, and served by a tall South Asian woman, possibly of Indian origin. We ordered drinks, but due to an unexpected situation, we had to leave immediately and could not place any food orders. When I asked for the bill, she questioned whether we wanted any food. I said no, and then asked for the service charge to be removed. We paid separately, after which her attitude noticeably worsened. Instead of handing me the card reader, she abruptly dashed it onto the table, which was completely unnecessary and highly inappropriate. It is important for staff to understand that the service charge is optional, and sometimes situations arise where customers must leave unexpectedly. There is also nothing wrong with a customer ordering only drinks. When I requested the service charge to be removed, and to pay separately she responded with an attitude and a dismissive “what?” twice, despite clearly hearing me the first time. She needs to improve her customer service skills and treat all customers with respect. She was not wearing a name badge, but based on the details I have provided, I am confident you can identify her on CCTV and my receipt. Overall my experience would be rated a ZERO, I will not come back here again

Standard burger restaurant experience. Food was good for the price. Just lacked anything to make it stand out and want you to go there again. Good if you're looking for a quick bite to eat. I just had the sides as a meal and food was good but nothing out of this world. Service was a little lacking in terms of checking food was ok.

I visited Honest Burger yesterday and I was very satisfied with the food. Despite everything, the service was very good as well. The reason for my rating is that at one point two women were speaking on a phone call very loudly They were possibly Indians, shouting in a way that disrupted the atmosphere. The evening was good overall and I really enjoyed the food, but the staff should try to better control loud conversations, especially when they happen right next to the bar area where customers are seated.

Food was great but my dad got sick and diarrhea after taking the burger with maxican sauce. I was not a really great experience

Visited Honest Burgers in Borough with friends and was really disappointed by the service. For context the man who greeted us barely looked at us and just told us to sit down, then disappeared, the actual service was done by a woman who took our order and brought the food. When we went to pay, we asked to remove the service charge because the service was slow and inattentive. The same man, who hadn’t even served us, responded with, “even if you’re students, you should still pay it,” in a rude and condescending tone, he was also questioning why we are even removing it. His attitude was completely uncalled for, especially since he hadn’t done any of the serving himself. The food was fine, but the experience was ruined by the unprofessional behaviour. If this is how staff respond to a student asking for service charge to be removed, it really reflects poorly on the place. Most of their customers are students in the area — a bit of respect and understanding would go a long way. They should really watch their attitude next time. We visited on 11/11/25 at around 12:30pm. The man had brown/grey hair and was possibly european.

I came with my family on a rainy day. Despite it being around 15 minutes before opening time, the kind staff let us in early and let us sit inside until 11, when the store opened. I ordered a double smash burger with fries for 11 pounds. The double smashed patty was incredibly flavourful as promised, however it was still juicy and was not dry, which is a problem with some smash burgers. The rosemary fries tasted delicious, not too salty, and not too oily, and I like that it comes free with all sets. If you do not like fries, there is also an option to switch to a salad or a coleslaw, both of which are also very nice. All three sides come in a generous serving. As such, if you want nice, affordable burgers with delicious sides, do check out this lovely store near Borough Market.

As we entered, we were greeted nicely and given options for where we preferred to sit. We decided on downstairs and understood the air conditioning was better done there. The server was pleasant and took our order within a few minutes. The chicken wings were tiny, but tasty and well prepared. (Never seen chicken wings that small). They went well with a side salad -- which was delicious. The salad was composed of fresh lettuce, thinly sliced red onion, cucumber, and celery with their special dressing. We also tried the buffalo chicken sandwich with the sauce on the side and another salad. It was the best fried chicken breast sandwich I've ever eaten. The mint lemonade is sweet and refreshing. They tack on 10% service charge which we were okay with leaving it on the bill in this case. We would like to return to try a burger --which looked scrumptious, by the way.

Passed this place heading back to Our hotel. Figured we'd grab a bite before it got too late. We were truly happy that we stopped! It was a small place, maybe 5-6 tables, plus a small window counter inside, and a couple table outside. The Server was super helpful and sweet. (Oh! If you see "Rocket" listed on the burgers, it's another name for Arugula. I taught her that while there lol!) Anywho, the burger was KILLER!! Amazingly good. And the Onion Rings were some of the best I've ever had! This place is a great stop for the burger lover. A definite place to add to Your casual to do list in London.

Let's just say, I don't usually like going to burger places as a vegetarian because the beyond or impossible burgers all taste the same. But Honest Burgers' vegan bacon plant burger? Best burger I've ever eaten. And the fries? So. Good. I'm just sad we tried this place on our last night in London. I wish Honest Burgers would open a location in Seattle so I could visit whenever I want. The Borough location is cute. It was pretty busy when we went for dinner, but we only had to wait about 10 minutes and the waitstaff was kind. Next time I'm in London, you know where I'm going.

Oh I absolutely love this place and the freshness of their food. I was so hungry forgot tot click pictures before eating. The place is beautiful and plays good music. The onion rings were a bit thicker than what I usually like. But the fritter burger was absolutely amazing. One of the best veggie burgers I've had. The rosemary fries that come with it were crisp and tasty. The mint lemonade was fresh and tastes very much like virgin mojito.

Food = 4/5 Service = 2/5 Ambiance = 3/5 Honest was recommended by our hotel so my husband and I walked over last night looking forward to a good burger. It's a cute little spot but the music inside was very loud and hard to hear my husband across the small 2 person table. The wait staff told us they needed a few mins which is ok except immediately after us a group of 6 came and asked if they could sit outside. The staff immediately assisted instead of offering us the table which we didn't see. Not the end of the world as it only took about 5 mins to get a table. We ordered quickly but then the food never came. Another couple arrived, ordered, ate and left before us and no acknowledgement from the staff. We finally chased a waitress who apologized and our food c ame in less than 10 mins. We were nervous because others were informed they had run out of chips and wasn't sure we'd still get them. The burgers themselves were delicious and cooked perfectly - I got the Honest burger without a bun and husband ordered Tribute. Small issue with my husband's as they put vegetables on that he asked to hold but he picked them off. The rosemary chips though were crispy and incredibly tasty. I'd give them another chance to redeem themselves on service but we're not local

I have celiac disease and has been craving a burger forever and Honest Burger more than hit the spot. The rosemary salted chips were divine and cooked in a dedicated fryer. The server and establishment itself took my dietary needs seriously as well. It was an incredible meal with wonderful service!

Great service, food, and ambiance. My friend and I came around 7:30pm and it was super busy, but we were able to get seated in a few minutes after they cleared up a table. The manager was getting hands on and helped out the waitress and hostess on the floor. He was there seating guests, taking orders, bussing tables, and clearing checks. We asked if we could switch to a window view table when one opened up and he kept an eye out for us. Phenomenal service and great management. The food is great and affordable, all burgers ranging from £9-13. They also have seasonal specialities which look and sound amazing. I'd love to come back just to try them all. I got the beef burger and my friend got the vegan one. The vegan one tasted very similar to the Beyond Meat Burger. The beef was a perfect medium rare and the bun was brioche. Chips were crisp. There is ketchup, mayonnaise, and BBQ sauce. Bonus points for the lemon water they serve. There is also downstairs seating.

Went here on the way to the way to the HMS Belfast. So happy I stopped here the food and drinks were great Only critique is that the fries/chips were not anything to write home about

Wow! Absolutely a gem of a place. Not only is the food amazing, I got the California burger, side salad and onion rings, but the service was wonderful. The staff is so helpful and thoughtful, they helped me out when I forgot my sunglasses. I got takeout, but the vibe in the restaurant seemed good as well. Last but not least, they have the most amazing onion rings I've ever had. Definitely a must try for anyone who lives close enough to this jewel in the neighborhood.

I had the local burger (with Brindisa chorizo and Kappacasein raclette) which was amazing. As always Honest doesn't disappoint on food quality but service was a bit slow.

Had to be one of the best meals I had while leaving London. Came across this place walking aimlessly... it did pop up on yelp at the time and wanted to try it out, but I didn't realize how close by this was to my hotel. The Burger was amazing delicious. It had so much flavor and oh so juicy, it was a perfect lunch to end my stay. The staff was super friendly and nice. This place gets pretty packed during lunch, so try coming a bit before 1pm.

I came here one day nursing a hangover and needed something greasy to get me back on my feet. The spot is relatively small but we got seated immediately. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich which was tender, great flavor, and a large portion (the chips were impressive as well). The burgers looked excellent but I just had the need for chicken that day.

I had just been in Dublin and had the amazing Bunsen burgers and was craving another... felt like Honest would stack up nicely and it sure did. Grabbed a quick burger, beer, and onion rings and just let off the steam of the week. Loved it! Will definitely be back on a future London trip.

This place saved me after venturing around in need of a proper meal and glass of wine on a Friday night. Every place around the area had incorrect info on their websites about their hours and Honest Burger was like a beaming light of joy. They were so gracious in seating me on the tail end of them being open. Being a server I know how annoying that can be but they never made me feel like I was a bother. The servers came around for some chitchat and it was truly a lovely experience. I had the Honest Burger (very good with perfectly cooked bacon) and a few glasses of wine (Shiraz). The prices weren't outrageous and the burger was quite light but also dense and filling. Not sure how that worked. :) the ambiance was a nice mix of formal and informal and I truly had a great time. I'm not sure if this place is new because of the lack of reviews but it deserves a visit if you are in the area! (Just a note - if you are from the States, be aware that the levels of meat temperature are a little different here. Their Medium is more of a rare/med-rare. Just FYI)

We're from America, and this is the best burger we've had. Service was quick. The french fries are seasoned with rosemary, and oh so tasty! One of the staff members was nice enough to give us some onion rings to taste ..also tasty! Wish we lived in London to enjoy this more often

The buffalo chicken sandwich I had was amazing! I also got a side of wings and they tasted great also. The food came out fast and hot! I would definitely eat here again.

You will be glad you visited Honest Burgers. We had the Honest Burger...honestly, an AMAZING burger. Tom and his staff are terrific. The service was exemplary. We also had the wings and the onion rings. This is a place you definitely want on your list. Seriously, don't miss it. You deserve a delicious meal. Can't go wrong. BTW, don't deprive yourself of the Honest G&T. Delicious and unique. Their menu is British sourced, fresh, and delicious. You will be glad you experienced it.

Honest Burgers was one of our favorite meals while we were in London! My husband and I visited London from the US. We have had our share of good burgers, but Honest Burgers blew all of them out of the water! My husband got the special of the month which was a delicious breaded chicken breast. The manager Chris was super cool as well! We bonded over our shared love of San Diego and California. It was fun to talk to him about London and his experience living there. The choice of beer was great too! So fun to try something new. Chris even recommended a local bar for us to head to so we could watch a World Cup match. Thanks Chris and Honest Burgers for a delicious meal! Ps Chris...we made sure to have a California burrito for you when we got home!

Everyone claims to be doing a great burger. This place delivers. With Shake Shack opening in London. And so many other burger competitors - how do you make your burger one of the best? They do it. After talking with Dimitri - one of the servers / managers - I learned that they use an 80/20 blend - allowing nice juiciness from the fat content. They grind the meat no more than every other day - and never freeze. When they sear the burger, it is on a hot griddle top - giving that caramelized taste. And yet, inside, pink, and juicy from the juices. I was also impressed by the chips - the French fries. I learned that they actually grow (buy?) their own potatoes - and keep them temperature controlled in a container so as to manage the starch content. This makes a better potato. For me, it was just the right amount of crisp on the outside and yet fluffy and tasty inside. I am a big fan of rosemary - and so having rosemary French fries were tasty. Also - kudos for at least carrying a few craft beers. I wish they would carry more. I had the Pure Shape Shifter. But unfortunately, while this is a great beer, it seems as if they will discontinue carrying that, opting instead for a large distributed beer. I hope they will stay honest with their beer selections as they do their meat and potatoes. The staff at first was slow, but then were very attentive. It was in the last 90 minutes and so, they were transitioning from the downstairs setting to the upper level. I definitely recommend the upper level. ... My burger was the "Market burger." Evidently, they try to creat one localized burger for each location. This one included the Swiss racket the from across the road at the Borough Market. It was tasty. ... If you are in the mood for a good burger, I definitely recommend this one.j

Firstly, I salute you for serving the Beyond Burger. It's a fiscally smart and ethically commendable move, and you execute it beautifully with your burger accompaniments. Why, then, do I give you 3/5 stars? Behold: 1. extortionate prices - burgers are the food of the people, for the many....not the few.... I understand the appeal of having chips included into the burger meals, but I genuinely don't want them on top of an already big meal...would it be okay for you to give an option to remove them and save some money? I can guarantee you at least one more customer a week if so. 2. drink costs - please lower them. 3. coleslaw - please make vegan I was going to leave 2/5 stars but the service is excellent.

Absolute delicious burgers and great service. I had the local Borough burger and it was amazing, as were the fries. Will definately be visiting again.

My husband and I just arrived in London and we were told to walk to the Borough Market. It was so hot today and we were looking for a place to cool off right away. We are so happy we stumbled on this place. The food was outstanding. I had the plant-based burger, which was amazing and my husband had the honest burger, which he said was excellent. The server was super sweet, too, and the food was served quickly. I highly recommend this place.
