Delicious food with feelings of home. This is a lowkey spot with a large menu for breakfast lunch and dinner. I’ve been here a couple of times and their food is consistently delicious and definitely authentic. It’s a good spot to dine in. I’m vegetarian and there are easy options without meat. I already can’t wait to come back

Really like having a Salvadoran style breakfast here! I haven’t tried the pupusas yet but that will be next. Any time I go on a weekend morning there’s a short wait, it seems like people in the neighborhood like to support this business. The staff is always kind and I always have leftovers because plates are big! I really like how most people I see dining here are families.

I really enjoyed my meal here!! The food was very delicious! Came here on a Sunday morning around 10am and there were open tables. The service was great and quick. We got our food in a timely manner as well. There was one server so when the restaurant began filling up, I could understand how service may slow (to the point of other reviews) but it wasn’t bad for us. I would recommend and come again.

This place made a simple house special with eggs, hash browns, bacon and pancakes taste immaculate! Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The atmosphere feels very homey with a cozy cute set up. Service was quick and efficient. 10/10 would recommend

The food was delicious. They made it right then and there. The hot chocolate was perfect. My skillet platter was delicious. If I'm back in the area I'll make sure I go. Happy tummy

Small restaurant with mainly Salvadoran breakfast. I had "El Clasico" and it was really good. Food came out delicious. We ordered hot chocolate and it came in this really cute honey mug to fit the theme of the restaurant and it's name. Service was quick and everyone was nice and attentive. Gave a positive atmosphere. Parking is in the back and small. A little tough to maneuver if you have a bigger car.

Not bad for a mom and pop. My breakfast burrito was big and arrived very hot! The other two ordered the tradition breakfast, very delicious! Plantains, casameinto, eggs! Yum! Not expensive, only downside is the decor is a bit loud and could use some refinement.

Good place but needs more cleanness it was morning not to busy for the waiter to take about 10 min to take my order!!! They should check the creamers, and condiments on table super dirty,change the picture on menu other than that food was great!! The coffee was great.

2 orders of The House Special. Good home style buttermilk pancakes served with eggs, hash browns and bacon. Portion size is great for the buck. We shared a stack and took the other stack home because we were full. 1 order of Plantanos, comes with a side of beans. Plantanos were cooked just right, and the beans had lots of flavor. 1 order of Huevos rancheros, comes with beans, rice and Salvi tortillas. Super delicious, I would have preferred the rice to be seasoned a little more, but that's my preference, overall the ranchero sauce was good, not spicy at all, but a good flavor. 1 Dirty Horchata. Horchata topped with coffee. Overall experience was great. I would go again for the portion size and nice home style feel.

I give this place a 5 on the food and 4 on its ambiance Let me explain First off, the service was great. We were seated wherever we wanted as soon as we walked in and the waiter had a nice and warm smile and energy about him. The food was amazing! This place surprised me so much! Their food was better, fresher, and more tasty than most chains and spots that I've rated. The hash browns were fresh with a nice crisp and season to them. They were just the right texture and the eggs were light yellow and fluffy with cheese on top just the way I like. The French toast was very tasty and again very fresh. They were well balanced and cooked just right. We also got the waffle and a side sausage patty and absolutely loved it. Not only do I recommend coming to Honey Bees, but I will be coming back real soon to try more of their menu. Why I didn't score them a 5? So I don't wanna be a jerk but their ambiance was good - but selfishly I would love for them to have a bigger spot with more space. Maybe even an outside area too. With this type of food, I can definitely see them becoming even bigger with that type of space. However the artwork and paint, with all the greenery is such a nice touch. They have done well with what they have! But I'd just love to see a better location or bigger spot That is all

I have been coming here for years, and it's my beloved spot when craving a salvi breakfast. However, today we had some of the worst service, and I've been here on mornings where every single one of their 13 tables is packed, and their two servers move effortlessly and attentively. Today, only a handful of tables were occupied and the server paid us no mind to take a drink order. We waited 25 minutes to place our full order and that's only after I flagged someone who had come out from the kitchen to run out food. We kept getting promised coffee refills that never came. My food came out before my partners, and I was waiting for his food to arrive to eat. We waited a good while before I had to flag the server to ask about his food. Idk if they are short staffed or if they need a new operating system, but I hope they can bring their service back to what it was. The food is still delicious! And I'm sure I'll be back but i really hope they can improve their service.

This resturant has been on my list to try for quite some time now. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing! I'm aware that the resturant is closed on Tuesdays but when we waked in (8:15am) after waiting 15 mins for the resturant to open there was a stench when we sat down. We still decided to give it a try because the food looks really good on Yelp. Our waitress was not happy with us getting to the resturant at 8am because when she finally opened the door she had an attitude. While taking our order she wasn't helpful and very dry. Food could have been fresher and more flavorful.

First off pancakes do taste like the central American quesadilla so good. The waffles had a similar taste. The pastelitos were so good. Burrito so so. I saw all the reviews complaining about the service. The gentleman who took our order was not rude or anything negative but definitely rushed and looks stressed. The food did take awhile, more than 30 mmin. I only saw 2 workers, I don't know if this is done on purpose or they need help. Not sure. But either way food was good.

This place looks rough but the food was pretty good. I ordered the house special with a waffle. Eggs, hash browns, and sausage were incredible. Tasted homemade and packed with flavor, instead of how restaurants typically make breakfast. The waffle looks good but tastes terrible. I thought it was weird that they charged me $2 for water. I've never been to a restaurant without complimentary water in CA. Place was fairly empty and yet service was nonexistent.

First time here My Niece and I went thee other day I had the Breakfast Special wowee it was Good pancakes was so soft and had a nice taste to it, came with eggs, sausage and hash brown (tell them you want your hash browns cooked well done) I definitely couldn't finish the breakfast. The parking is Krazy its on the street (you may have to park in the red ijs other then that it's nice and quiet in there they have a TV in the back (in the cut) orange and apple juice was good man I will be returning to try other items on the menu, the customer service was A1 Very nice Gentleman.

Took my little brother for some breakfast today and decided we would try a new spot. So I looked a little online and found this spot really close to me and thought I'd give it a try. First impression walking in I thought it was small but it actually has a good amount of seating in a little side room. They only have one person working the front which is also waiting all the tables which he does a great job being the only one he had excellent customer service and was always attentive. My food experience was not the greatest. I ordered the pupusa ranchera which to me was something new it had great flavor but it became too mushy with all the salsa. I also ordered the plantains which was very hard and not sweet at all it was paired with beans and crema which made it a bit better. My brother ordered the house special with bacon he loved the hash brown and eggs but the bacon was really salty and hard to finish the pancakes were great moist and very flavorful. He also ordered a bean and cheese pupusa which had very little cheese it was all bean unfortunately but he loved the taste just wished the cheese and bean was a little more balanced in the pupusa.

Whenever we crave a simple sit down breakfast, this is our local go-to spot. Note that this is not a fancy, trendy LA brunch spot. This is a good old fashioned family owned hole in the wall that has legit breakfast in both american and latin style. The latin style seems to have both mexican and el salvadorean food represented. I usually get the house special breakfast which for only $12:50 you get pancake, 2 eggs, 2 meats and hashbrown. For the meat, you can choose either bacon or sausage patties - if you're a fan of turkey sausage, this is NOT the place to get it. I hated the strange taste it had so I stick to the good ol' fashioned pork sausage or regular pork bacon. I can tell their hash brown is freshly made - I love it. They do have el salvadorean pupusas which was just so-so, I have found better places in the area for it so I won't be ordering it from them. They do have indoor dining, I don't think there's any outdoor seating. We've eaten in but mostly order to-go. Parking in the area is pretty easy - street parking. Service dining in can be slow but always a pleasant experience.

Hands down the best breakfast place and out of the world pancakes!!! Me and my family have been coming here for years and have gotten o know the staff, always friendly and lovely. The food is always consistent and never gets old. From classic American to Salvadorian breakfast and foods, so many yummy choices. Highly recommend this cute mom and pop place. Almost want to gate keep them and not share them with the rest of you but they deserve all the recognition they can get!

Decided to check out Honey Bee's over the weekend for a solo breakfast outing. It was absolutely amazing. I ordered a traditional Mexican breakfast and it was delicious. Honestly, some of the best refried beans I've had. I tried a pupusa and it was super yummy. The service was amazing and it's so cute and quant on the inside. Definitely will be back!

The good: The food, the service, the food, the food, the food! The bad: A little out of the way. Details: I had this on my LA bookmarks for a while, but we don't make it to that part of town & since C-19, we don't travel as much. But we were heading for the beach, so we swung by there to have brunch. We parked on a side street. I had the steak burger patty with eggs and hashbrowns, and my wife had a papusa. The portions were huge! I couldn't finish. It was so delicious. The staff was also friendly and the food came fast. The place isn't huge, so I could see it being busy during rush times. We will for sure go again!

There's something so satisfying about homey, hole-in-the-wall spots that serve authentic, delicious, and well priced meals. That's exactly what you get at Honey Bee's House of Breakfast. Nothing fancy here. Just some stacked Salvadorian style breakfast and lunch plates that hit the spot when you're hungry. Those mom-and-pop, bona fide flavors make you feel like you've been transported to El Salvador. Pro tip: Get some Salvadorian dishes, but also get some pancakes. Made a last second decision to order a stack for the table. Perfectly cooked, fluffy, and sweet. Just the way I like them.

Came to this place because it was highly recommended by @salvisoul on IG. Maybe because of her review it was pretty packed. We got sat down right away. But if you come here, don't come hungry. It took 45 min just to get my drinks (hot chocolate and horchata). My plate took 1hr and my husband and child's plate came out around 45 ish minutes. I ordered the Classico, it was a let down. The casamiento was not even casamiento it was just rice cooked in bean soup, no beans in it. Eggs lacked flavor and my tortillas never came out. My husbands breakfast burrito was good and pancakes were great. The pancakes do have that hint of quesadilla. Service was okay, but they do need to hire more staff for the front and back of the house to support with the loooooong wait. Good luck!

The food here was absolutely spectacular! It's a small mom and pop place and the owners are super sweet and attentive. Breakfast and lunch options. They close early I believe so best to go in the mornings or lunch. It's a must try if you're in the area!

Wow. This place is really good and has such a homey vibe. There is a small parking lot in the back, the place is very clean and customer service was amazing. Everything I ate from my pic was a 10/10... I loved the food! Will be back to try more.

Pleasantly surprised with this small Mom and pops restaurant. It's American-Salvadorian, so there's a variety of foods offered. My brother took me there for breakfast, and it's a place we're he frequently visits. I've noticed many people go there also, considering it's located in a neighborhood, just like a hole in the wall, I mean you could miss it if you weren't looking for it. I ordered a papusas breakfast and platanos and a ensalda drink. Food came out fast and the servers were awesome. Hoping that they have Central American coffee in the future. I would definitely recommend and would go back.

The pancakes are deliciously unique. I'd only speculate it's a particular chef recipe. Flavorful delicious pancakes. I recomend getting pancakes with any dish and don't miss it.

It's one of two go to breakfast spots in our neighborhood that we can walk to. I usually order the big breakfast that comes with eggs, sausage, hash browns and pancakes. Tastes great, and they have a very nice staff working there. If you're craving breakfast food, definitely check this place out

This business made me want to open an acct on yelp to talk about their HORRIBLE Service. I hope it improves because the food is delicious. The lady serving looked bothered and annoyed, one server was nice and smiled but he was running around like a chicken without a head, very confused in such a small place and the other guy server was the slowest server I've ever met! Ugh! And on top of it, he brings my pupusa after waiting a long time for it and asks ...Do you want curtido and sauce? What?!?! YES, of course!!! Then he took a long time to bring me the curtido and sauce. I told the other server that maybe the other guy forgot. Eventually, the no smile, annoyed lady brought the curtido and sauce, but the pupusa was dry and cold so I left it. The breakfast and pancakes were really good even though they took a long time. Speking of pancakes...the lady sitting behind me kept asking for her pancakes and seemed very upset and wanted to walk out. Her husband went to ask for the pancakes at the register (front) and still waited a long time. The couple were discussing the service and said it was 0 out of 10. I agree. Good luck flagging a server. At one point, 1 of them walked by us and we called him to ask for the check and he ignored us. Later, he came back with the check and said "i heard you, but if i stop then i forget what i was going to do" ‍ The ambiance was loud and crowded and people working there do not seem happy to work there. If you dont mind horrible AND slow service, you will enjoy your breakfast. Unfortunately for me, good service matters so the almost 1hr drive is not worth it for me even if the food is delicious. Sooo many great businesses closed due to the pandemic, they should be grateful they are still in business and that so many people still go there. Id be so happy welcoming everyone and trying to serve people as efficiently and quickly as possible so my customers waiting, making line outside dont wait forever. But service was soooo slow, no urgency at all. Bottom line, breakfast didnt disappoint, but service did and that makes me not want to go back or recommend it to friends and family. I rather support places with great food AND great service/a welcoming staff.

My go to for a classic Salvadoran breakfast, you also gotta try their waffles! Yum! My girlfriend loves the pupusas and it's all in such a good price! Service was kind and friendly with an amazing homely feel and ambiance.

An American-Salvadorian breakfast spot that is more savory than its name suggests. They have a classic sweet options such as pancakes, waffles, and French Toast, but the heartiness of their Salvadorian style breakfast at a really affordable price is where it is at. It has a diner quality feel and the food has that "made at home" comfort to it too. They only have street parking and a few tables indoors with no outdoor seating. A bit of a hole-in-the-wall, but good service and good food! The Classico is a solid breakfast with scrambled eggs, rice, plantains that were filling. The Mojarra Azada (Whole Fried Fish) was prob my favorite. Very filling and cooked well! Came with some thick tortillas and rice that were really filling along with a blended up bean dip. The Horchata is really good here too! Def recommend!

THEM PANCAKES THO!!! You gotta get the pancakes, like for real for real. Lucky for you, the $10.50 breakfast special will get you right with two signature pancakes, two bacon or sausage-I recommend the sausage patties, hash browns (get 'em crispy), and two eggs (over easy babyyy). The pancakes were fantastic. We also ordered a ton more food... The Steak Burger patty meal- It was tasty but I would have preferred the steak burger patty if it wasn't so well done. Perhaps you could ask them to cook the burger at whatever temperature you prefer. The Papusas- "Wow, these things are large". I was expecting something smaller but was pleasantly surprised at the nearly frisbee sized delicacies. I only recommend the bean and cheese variety as the pork one had a strong sour vinegar taste. At $2.99 each, just order a bean and cheese one and thank me later. The Pastelitos- I was expecting something like an empanada, which it kind of was, however these weren't for me. The breading was a bit oily and the filling was more of a paste rather than ground beef and chopped veggies. Also I didn't care for the slaw that accompanied this dish. Overall this place was a solid 4 stars! Service was pretty slow as they really only had one server and it seemed that they were doing quite a bit of work in the back of the house as well. Would have liked a few more coffee refills but it's all good. The pancakes will definitely bring us back. Thanks Honey Bees!

Wow! My son and I are continuing our Sunday Brunch adventure..pulled up at this spot because we heard good things and were looking forward to trying them out. We were not disappointed. Service is friendly, quick and efficient. Food just smacks! I ordered the pancakes and turkey bacon breakfast. Yummy! My son got the beef breakfast burrito with a side of hash browns. Neither of us are talking because we are too busy eating. Only drawback is there is no outside seating at the moment. I got over that though because everything else is on POINT!

This is a story about a miserable person and the importance of supporting locally owned restaurants. Let me tell you what happened... Today was February 1st and it was a rainy day in L.A. My wife and I decided to get Salvadoran desayuno and pancakes at Honey Bee's hoping that it would be a slow day. When we arrived there were three quiet tables already full, one of them was a woman with small children. There was one server who was polite, and he seemed to have his hands full bringing the food out to the little kids and the other two tables. OK, yes it took a little while for my wife and I to get our menus, but it was no bother to us at all because he was helping a woman with children. Once we started giving the waiter our order, another woman came into the restaurant alone and took the table right next to ours. There were plenty of other empty tables, but we didn't think much of it. This is important to the story because her proximity made it easy to hear most of what she was about to say, especially because she talked a little loud much of the time. The lone woman tried to flag the server down when he was already multitasking, so he kindly let her know that he would be right with her. When he approached to take her order she was stern in a strange way and insisted on having hot water served first and then went into a litany of special things she wanted off menu like, "half chocolate and half coffee with the chocolate at the bottom of the coffee in a mug." With that detail alone I knew she was going to be a difficult customer. I tried to mind my own business, but she was a little loud when everyone else was so quiet, so it was hard not to be distracted by her tone and attitude. Anyway, she had this complicated food order with elements from this plate mixed with that, and she was very particular with the order of things and how hot she wanted them. "When you give someone a hot water is it scalding like it could burn someone's mouth or is it just hotter than warm?" There was more, but these were the kinds of things she was very particular about, and she seemed to be ready to fight before there was a problem. My wife and I just started eating when her order came out as-well. So the kitchen service was prompt. I recommend the Salvadoran breakfast called El Super Classico. Salvadoran breakfast has this excitement to it that is hard to explain, and Honey Bee's has never let me down on that. The pancakes are also a must because they have a pleasant and unique tang or umaminess to them that sets them squarely in my top 2 pancakes in L.A. right next to Dupar's. The hashbrowns are also crispy and seasoned well. Before we could get very far in our breakfast the woman next to us called the waiter over to complain about the food. She said that her pancakes weren't hot and that she refused to pay for something like three items in her order. She said that she would pay for the coffee and something else that she was mumbling about. The server apologized and offered to make things right with her, but she wasn't having it. She rudely told him to get the check and make sure that something like half of her order wouldn't be charged. He went to the next room to get the mobile payment device. While he was gone she started to huff and puff loudly for everyone to hear, and then she announced to the rest of us, "I hate my job!" She got up, went into the next room and yelled, "I just want you all to know that I'm a food critic for the L.A. Times. Your food and service was terrible. I have already submitted my review!" She stormed out through the front door. Not only did we enjoy our food, but the server was a nice guy. We stayed a while and had a short conversation with him. I can't imagine that her food was anywhere near that disappointing. Without giving away anyone's information, I will say that I am related to someone who used to work at the L.A. Times, and I know enough to surmise that the lady was most likely lying about being a food critic especially with what I know about the recent lay-offs. What a strange thing to do, and how terrible to treat a locally owned business like that. I'm taking this as a reminder to be kind to people in hospitality. It's a hard job. Also, I'm going to be returning to Honey Bee's more often. If you go, say what's up to Stanely. He and his family work hard to bring good food and culture to the people of L.A.

They have El Salvadoran & American food but I only come for the breakfast. Their pancakes are delicious. The chicken and waffles is spicy . They get busy on the weekends and their dining room is small so you may have to wait.

The pancakes! The pancakes! I came back for the delicious fluffy home made pancakes that remind me of Sunday morning at my moms. The food is great especially the salvi options and the server today was very friendly. The restaurant is a small hole in the wall type but clean and cheery. The prices are not bad and there is plenty of street parking. I will definitely come back for the pancakes again.

It's been years since I last visited but had to update my review. I remember the pancakes were huge, hot and delicious!!! I didn't realize an old friend and his family ran this restaurant. Stanley and his family are super sweet and a hard working family! What I wouldn't give to have some fresh LA local food like this!!! Maybe one day I will visit home. The honeybee breakfast special is one of the best deals in town, and their pancakes are the best I have had anywhere! Took off one star for the hashbrowns turn the grill down, so they have longer time to brown and not char and cooked to a more done consistency

What a great breakfast in an unsuspecting place! The service was rendered by warm and friendly people. I got to hear the back story of how they got started and we enjoyed our meal! The portions were so good I couldn't eat it all! Can't wait til I'm back in LA to go again!

I love this place. They have the best Platos tipicos and pancakes in town. :D I ordered the "El Super Clasico" and my husband ordered the pancake special. The food is always tasty and the service is excellent. They are pretty packed during rush hour so do be patient and make sure to bring an umbrella in case you have to wait outside in the sun. The food is definitely authentic and filing. You can literally order various menu items and share. :D Make sure to check in via Yelp to claim a $1 lemonade.

Ate hear with a friend of mine after a long hike. With that being said it took some time for our order to be taken and a while for us to get our coffee and a long long while to finally get the food. Literally almost an hour of waiting I think they should hire an other waitress because the food is good but they're slow no coffee refills no water stuff that like

Sat at a table with a menu for 20min as the person working was answering the phone and dealing with take out orders the entire time ignoring me trying to order. And this is on a Monday morning, mind you. I walked out. I won't support restaurants that let DoorDash ruin the in-person experience.

Portion sizes here are huge. We shared a classic breakfast and couldn't finish it. Drinks are also huge and very sweet (horchata and lemonade). The pancakes are fluffy and don't need any additional seasoning. Hash browns good too!

Service sucked. it's sad to see a family business go drown the drain customer service wise. The food was good however it took over an hour to receive the meal. and was not hot upon receiving it. No one in the establishment told us eta for our food. Or kept us updated. Waiters kept walking past our table. I had to get up and approach counter before receiving an update. I hope this establishment can get some hands in the kitchen bc it's just not an excuse for bad service and lack there of.

I love the pancakes! However the service was terrible. I had to ask 3 times for napkins 2 times for more coffee, the lady waitress git bother when Iasked for vanilla creamer, the brought me food that I didn't ordered and they got mad. Other party of 2 they were complaining about their food, party of 5 complained about them not taking their order after waiting for long time, the server was snacking after each trip to the kitchen. I wont go to this place no more even tho I really liked their pancakes.

Average at best. Food was ok (maybe I'm not familiar with Salvadoran cuisine?) Service was slow. Server did not offer me a choice between sausage and bacon. Don't like sausage, which is what I got. I asked for a can of Pepsi and a glass of water. Received and was charged for bottled water. Will not be back any time soon. Hoping the business can improve.

Let's get one thing straight this place has the best pancakes I have ever eaten. And I'm a diner snob. Rest of menu is quite good, but it's hard not to order pancakes. The waffles are also quite special. Staff is very friendly but service kinda slow weekend mornings when they get busy. Don't hate just wait -- it's well worth it!

I LOVE brunch but not every brunch spot is created equally and not many truly stand out. With that said, I'm excited to shout another bomb ass neighborhood brunch spot in mid-city, LA. Talk about a hidden gem. Well, maybe not for the surrounding neighborhood, but we certainly hadn't been here. The food is mouth watering and fresh, and the service/atmosphere are homey and warm. It's like you're walking into your grandma's house for breakfast. And would you peep those HASH BROWNS?! That brings me to a very serious question: Do y'all prefer breakfast potatoes or hash browns? I'm team hash brown all the way and these are perfect. Also- those pupusas are TO DIE FOR.

OK food at large portions, but TERRIBLE SERVICE. So much where it takes away from enjoying the food at all. Took almost an hour for my partner and I to get our order. Meanwhile we kept seeing orders from others who ordered to-go keep getting their food before us! Literally like 4 people who got to the restaurant after us. It was ridiculous. I'm honestly more upset at the fact that we even put up with it by staying there that long. I hate wasting food, so I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt that it would come in just another 5 minutes or so. The horchata was too sweet, potatoes were dry, and breakfast skillet lacked seasoning. If you're hungry, just order pickups. Don't eat here. Or go somewhere else where the establishment actually cares about your patronage.

Yoooooo!!! The BEST breakfast I've had in LA all year long and even beyond!!! Everything was made fresh, on point, and full of flavor. You can taste the love put into the food. The waffles were soft af. The shrimp fried rice breakfast was stupid fire!! The waiter, Johnny, took great care of us and was extra attentive with sterilizing the high chair for our baby without asking! Highly recommend! Don't sleep on it!

so insanely ridiculously yummy! lacks vegetarian options but the ones that are there are very yummy. highly recommend the skillet. also some of the best plantains i've had in a while.

This place was a last minute find and it didn't disappoint ! We came with a party of 6 with no wait time . The yuca fries were bombbbbbbbb. Omg I'm obsessed . Nice family owned restaurant with nice people .
