Tried the brown sugar boba, shrimp fried rice and the shrimp dumplings. The price was very reasonable. Shrimp Fried rice was delicious. The shrimp was great. The portions were enough for two people. The dumplings were not so great. Tried it with the chilli oil and still was meh. Boba was real good. It’s inside the Super Gmart. So it’s definitely a quick eat kinda place. This was the only food place open after 7pm and hence was kinda busy.

Not bad place, but for as much as they are charging for the bahn mis, more meat would be nice. Meat is thinly sliced with just a few slices. Def not worth it for the bahn mi's if that's what you're wanting. I'd recommend going elsewhere for them bc plenty of restaurants are cheaper and provide more meat. Let alone, they charge extra if you want just an extra piece of cilantro. 😬

I came here for lunch. I wanted something besides fast food. I ordered chicken curry and rice. The food took about five minutes. It was hot and delicious. It came with chunks of potatoes and carrots. The broth was sooooo good you can just drink it lol. It was a good portion for the price. Tastes like something I can make @ home, which is a good thing. I ate it throughout the day and it was filling but not heavy. I’ll definitely be back!

Google
A cozy place inside of the store with great quality tastes of love. The atmosphere is calming. They are awesome, welcoming and very happy. Thank you my family's new go to place.

Google
Best milk tea I’ve had in NC so far. I got a peach green tea and my partner got a taro milk tea. Wide flavor variety. Just the right amount of ice. Highly recommend. Cannot comment on actual food as I did not get any.

Google
Had the Banh Mi. What a flavorful sandwich. I was really surprised how well all the ingredients mixed together. Also had a red velvet shake. Nice and not too sugary.

I am a Taiwanese. When I heard about this place, I was super excited. We drive all the way from Greenville, SC cause this is the first place we heard has Taiwanese food. They have some signature dishes from Taiwan and Hong Kong. Such as Taiwanese beef noodle soup, milk tea with boba and dim sum. I came with my husband and a friend who's Hong Kong people. According to him, dim sums taste like the frozen one you can get from the Asian market. The beef noodle soup is fine. The tea is probably the best of all. Overall, I don't think I will come back just for this.

Google
The Beijing Noodle with Mince Pork Sauce was very bland, no flavor. It could have used some soy sauce but I didn't notice any around. The sign about where to order, doesn't explain to form a line against the wall. So people stand awkwardly close to the dining tables in an unorganized line. An employee told the people to move against the wall. It probably would have been easier to clarify that on their sign, so people knew where to stand.

Yelp
The drinks here are so delicious! I had the lychee tea and it was absolutely refreshing and super yummy -- light, fruity, and perfect. If you don't like your drinks too sweet, definitely go for 50% sweetness -- it was just right. The red bean bun was okay, not the best thing ever, but still a nice little snack. Service was super quick, which I really appreciated. It's located inside Super G Market, so expect busy, bustling vibes -- but that just adds to the charm. Definitely worth a stop, especially for the drinks!

Yelp
I love this place ! Hidden gem in Charlotte with great options for easy dim sum to go.

Yelp
3.5 very organized but I wish they had a kids menu. The portions are so large for their rice dishes. The chestnut (pearl meatballs) take 10-15min as they have to make them. The shumai are small the sandwiches are decent.
google avatar

Christine T.

Yelp
Bakery found inside super g - got the pork bun which disappoints. The bread is dry and not a lot of filling inside. Also got the milk bread which is dry as well. Will not recommend

Yelp
What a delightful find! Tucked away in the back of an international grocery store, this place is an absolute gem. I cannot wait to go back and I encourage everyone to stop by if you're in the area. Super fair prices and a large menu displayed in front. I got four shrimp dumplings which were warm and so flavorful. Thought I would need sauce but I didn't. Definitely something else in them but I'm not sure what. I also got the veggie bao which I liked less. Still good but not the best flavor. My partner got teriyaki chicken and bbq. Loved them both but didn't think the teriyaki tasted much like teriyaki. We did mix up the veggie and meat ones. Be mindful of sizes and shapes. We couldn't tell based on the insides so we had to Google pictures. It would have been nice to separate them or add some labels. Oh and the bread is so good but be aware there is a lot of it. I also got a boba tea and it was the bomb. They made mine a little less sweet per my request and it was perfect. I got the original but I saw a ton of options. Overall this place was delicious and the workers were wonderful. There is a seating area inside but we took it to go as it was all packaged up anyway. Takeout Friday don't kind of I do!

Yelp
My partner and I ordered food to go from here. It's located inside the Super G Mart. I ordered shrimp dumplings and siu mai. My partner ordered a curry chicken sandwich. The staff asked me if it's one order each for the shrimp dumplings and the siu mai, which I appreciate. I wish she would've mentioned how big they are and how many you get per order. The food is delicious, but I devoured it within minutes. While it satisfied my craving, I could've used more especially since we had a long road trip ahead of us. My partner enjoyed the sandwich, it's like a banh mi but with curry chicken. It's different than what we're used to but still an interesting combination that worked well. I'd come back if I'm in the area, and I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for grab and go Asian cuisine, and they also have chairs and tables for you to enjoy your food there.

Yelp
This Cafe was in the store. They have super good Boba and they made it pretty fast. The service was good and they also had places that you could sit and eat!

Patrick B.

Yelp
Boba is not good, powdery for some reason. mid boba ngl don't buy until they fix this john bro

Yelp
I had heard great things about this place and kept meaning to come, but never got around to it since it's out of the way for me. We finally made it though! Covid-19: no online ordering here. They are closed for dine in right now. It's inside a grocery store (Super G). The buns are a must try. Unfortunately they were sold out of most of them when we were here (around 12 on a Saturday), but we were able to try BBQ pork, Vietnamese Pork, and Taro. They were amazing! BBQ pork was my favorite since the Vietnamese Pork was a little dry. I also loved Taro. I wasn't paying attention and didn't realize that it only came with one bun each, so we didn't get nearly enough buns for my liking. We also got a BBQ pork banh mi and a ginger milk tea (add boba) both of which we loved. We weren't comfortable exploring Super G right now, so we'll definitely be back to check out the grocery store and get some more buns!
google avatar

Breanna M.

Yelp
Very filling and flavorful buns! My husband and I shared the chicken and pork buns as well as the sticky rice in banana leaf which also had meat inside and all were very good. The buns are big soft and sweet and you don't need to more than 1 or 2 because they're very filling. This place is definitely worth the stop and it's inexpensive. If you're looking for a quick lunch or snack I would definitely give this place a try!

Yelp
Thumbs up all the way!!! Guys come try out Honey Bun's Cafeteria, guarantee satisfaction with their food and refreshment drinks... For sure you will not regret it, instead you will be back again and again Their fried rice all so good, the bbq pork bun and custard bun omg yummy their curry chicken top top top... plus so many options good drinks with or without boba Never enough to say all the good stuffs Honey Bun's Cafeteria has, perfect for togo order since they are located inside Super G-Mart.

Yelp
Minimum transaction to use your debit or credit card is ten dollars. But that's not hard to do here. The shumai and shrimp dumplings are always delicious here. And to be honest - that's all I ever get here. But they are always fresh and hot. If you're lucky - sometimes you can see them in action making the dumplings. But they have an assortment of dumplings and buns here. Also bahn mi and other food staples. You won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Steven B.

Yelp
All the servings are super small. Shrimp Dumplings were very chewy along with the Pork Shumai which did taste good. The Sticky Sweet Rice Dumplings had the same weird taste again. They are now all over priced should just go to a dim sum place instead. Asked for soy sauce on the side and they only give you one sauce packet talk about cutting costs. Lady is so rude taking orders.

Yelp
Solid food here. Inside of the Super G-mart. The Vietnamese pork buns are good and so are the char siu pork ones. Very authentic tasting wonton noodle soup, broth is on point. There's this particular aroma that you only get from an authentic wonton soup broth, it's from salted radish...and a lot of restaurants get it wrong. Their fried rice is also good. I am very particular about fried rice. And the flavor of their fried rice reminds me of home. The type of fried rice we used to get when all the adults are drunk at midnight, and they take us out to eat in Oakland's China Town. All I need them to do is add salted fish fried rice to this menu and they're golden! That would earn them 5 stars! It's pretty busy and for good reasons. They're quick and straight to the point. You order, pay, and get your food.

Yelp
Sadly this once great establishment has gone down hill. Over priced now for mediocre food. This was always the hi-light of our shopping at Super G. Spent a good amount of almost 80$ on some buns and bhan mi sandwiches. The meat was cold on the sandwiches along with serving us stale bread. Not worth it at all any longer. It's cheaper to dump stale bread than to lose customers.
google avatar

Yelp
First time Banh Mi eater here and LOVED IT I got the #30 Banh Mi Sandwich - the flavors were amazing, bread was perfection, and WOW what a great value for $5.49. **TIP: Order must be over $10 if using a Credit/Debit card Came in without cash, so I added a #1 Vietnamese Pork Bun and two #7 Veggie Buns to my order. The buns were just OK for me- the fillings were absolutely delicious, but there was just too much breading in my opinion. This spot was still take-out only on my visit on 2/14/21. So glad I tried and I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Not the place to buy obnoxious military vehicles that represent the worst qualities of Americans. That's HUM-V Buns Cafeteria. Named after my porn star girlfriend, this is one of the better places to get Boba in North Carolina. Honey Buns is a wonderful little spot inside the International Food Court in Charlotte which as a city, is really starting to have some great International options - that are still completely off the radar. Here are two good bubble tea shops in this grocery store, and this one has nice milk tea, and good lemon black tea, as well as tasty buns and other good baked goods - as you can see from my pictures. I might like the neighbouring Hong Kong Place slightly more (especially for milk tea), or they might be dead even - the next time I come to Charlotte I will be trying both for a second time.

Yelp
I've been here several times and it really is a must if you're shopping at Super G Mart, especially if you're hungry haha They have a pretty good selection of dim sum and from when I went recently on a Sunday they were selling out! I usually get either the beef noodle soup or the jyangjangmun. I got the latter recently and they are delicious and a great treat! They also sell boba which is decent from what I remember. But definitely get either the dim sum (shu mai is my fav) or the 2 dishes I mentioned and they are usually $7-8 for the entrees and $3-4 for the dim sum if I remember correctly They only take card if you go over $10, otherwise it's cash so just bear that in mind!

Yelp
Good food, fast service, convenient.. love the Chinese bakery n boba drinks - one stop shop!!

Yelp
Great food! Fast and friendly service. Hidden gem. I love their Thai tea and green matcha with boba! The teriyaki and pork buns are great and so low priced. Soups and rice is good too! Excellent! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Located in the Super G Mart and delicious Boba tea! Had the passion fruit with mango jellies and I would love to try the other non-milk teas.
google avatar

Anna P.

Yelp
This place is inside the G Mart supermarket. They do have good dim sum. To enjoy traditional Hongkong or Canton China Dim Sum, we like to sit inside a restaurant and have a pot of good China tea with it. The atmosphere of place to eat dim sum is very important as well. Nevertheless, this place does have fresh dim sum from the kitchen. But Cantonese population in Charlotte is not large enough to keep a real Dim Sum restaurant.

Anne C.

Yelp
I used to like this place but they've gotten way too stingy. Portions are half the size than a few years ago, and they raised their prices too! We ordered 2 main dishes, 2 bobas and it was $40, and we were still hungry. Boba were hard, not cooked well. Their wontons are a dime size, what a rip off. Very disappointed that they're price gauging their customers. If you're going to raise your price, then keep the portion the same. Not worth eating here anymore.

Yelp
I like buns, hon. Ok, ok. Have I overdone it with that joke? But seriously... I had my first buns at Honey Buns last week and I'm now obsessed! First things first. Honey Buns is located INSIDE Super G. When you enter the grocery store, first marvel at how clean the store is and breath in. If you're lucky, Hong Kong bakery will have something in the oven and it'll smell like you're literally inside a birthday cake. Next, turn right and head towards the back corner. There you'll find a magical food court housing Honey Buns, along with Hong Kong bakery and a Korean restaurant. Next. Check out Honey Bun's menu, posted to the left of the register. There are pictures of every dish to help you navigate. (Although, a lot of the buns look the same, so I'd actually suggest going by the description of the stuffing instead.) Once you've decided what you're getting -- I had to write it down I wanted so much -- head to the register to order. I had the BBQ pork, teriyaki chicken, red bean, and Vietnamese pork buns. All were delicious but the BBQ was my favorite, hands down. Throw in an order of glass meatballs (just so-so) and a diet Pepsi and my total was $11.50. So cheap!

You V.

Yelp
Regular here when I am at Super G Mart shopping. The milk tea and coconut boba teas are my regular orders along with the Vietnamese buns and Maylay cakes. There is always a wait but totally worth it!

Yelp
How did I not know this place existed? Having some Asian family and them being raised in Hawaii, some of my favorite food growing up was the buns my grandma would bring back to Kentucky after a visit to Hawaii. I've bought frozen buns, but had no idea I could get them fresh in Charlotte. This is the real deal. Honey Buns is located in the Super G. They have a variety of dim sum and buns, both savory and sweet. They also have fried rice, soups and bahn mi. I ordered a Chinese Pork bun, BBQ pork bun, Korean pork bun and teriyaki chicken bun. And I also ordered the wonton soup with noodles. My order was to go. The buns were just like I remembered. Dough was soft and not too chewy. My favorite flavors were the Chinese Pork and the bbq pork. The Chinese Pork had a great classic flavor with cabbage and scallions. And the bbq pork was a nice sweet sauce with tendor pork bites. And by the way, they are really affordable, with the most expensive bun being $1.99. The soup was packed to go so the noodles and dumplings were packed separate from the broth which helped the noodles not get too soggy. However, when I got home and assembled, the noodles stuck together really bad. The broth was light and not too salty. And the wontons had an amazing flavor. It's probably better if you eat it in the store, but if I got it to go again, I would just order the wonton. I will definitely be back, especially since I didn't get to try the sticky sweet rice dumplings. Authentic buns at a great price!
google avatar

Annie L.

Yelp
Low quality, overpriced Chinese food. Wonton noodle soup is overpriced for what you get ($12 for 4 wontons, 2 pieces of bok choy, packaged noodles, msg soup). About $2-2.5 PER PIECE of dimsum (Ex: pork bun). Maybe it was better quality when it first opened? You're better off buying frozen items from super G and heating it up at home.
google avatar

Ellie W.

Yelp
The only con about this place is that they don't offer delivery and are off Independence (I try to avoid due to the amount of car crashes lol). But their dim sum is top tier and incredibly affordable.

Asha B.

Yelp
The customer service at this location is terrible!! I placed an order to go, but once I arrived home, I recognized that my order was incorrect. Btw, this location is 30 minutes from me home which means I would have to drive an additional hour to have this error rectified. However, I decided to return on principle. Once I told the cashier what happened, she proceeded to blame me for ordering inaccurately when in reality, the error was hers. I do not appreciate being chastised by a business that I have patronized many times before. Huge disappointment.
google avatar

Shelley B.

Yelp
Shrimp dumplings, house fried rice w/shrimp chicken pork, but I do not get the pork, is so delicious. Service is quick fast and friendly but the atmosphere is loud due they are located inside a grocery store. I eat there once a week after work on my way home.
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Snacks, fried rice, bubble drinks, bao and even dumplings can be had at fare prices. The shrimp dumplings are a favorite here. Orders are four pieces for $2.99. Do try the smoothies new favorite is the Honeydew ($3.50) is yummy without being overly sweet.
google avatar

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
A hidden gem! Walk all the way to right and the back when entering the market. Be aware if your order equals less then $10 they only take cash. My go to order is the Bahn Mi without jalapeños, a Chinese pork bun, lavender milk tea with boba or Thai tea. You will be so happy with any item you get.
google avatar

Kamilia L.

Yelp
Great eaterie. The buns are huge and flavorful. I got 3 huge portions of buns which tasted like heaven. Keep an open mind and grab a bubble tea too.

Yessenia M.

Yelp
Food and boba are always phenomenal and fresh. Any time I'm in the area I make a stop.
google avatar

Rosa D.

Yelp
This place is awesome. There's always a line but it goes by fast. The hard part is waiting for the yummy buns and your boba drink. My preference is the Vietnamese buns. It's a nice big bun with some pork, veggie and egg inside. Steamed perfectly. The shrimp dumpling is really good too and they usually sell out fast so I was lucky enough to get some this trip. I thought it was 6 shrimp Dumplings to an order but I guess it's only 4 now. Their Thai tea doesn't taste like the powder Thai tea so that's a good thing. In the beginning they only took cash but now they take card as well, with a minimum amount of course.
google avatar

Jenita M.

Yelp
I was thirsty and had wanted a boba drink or tea with chopped fruit the other day but wasn't sure where to go close by. I decided to go to the honey buns cafeteria and try theirs out. There's a big drink selection but got the coconut milk tea with boba. Seems all these milk teas taste like chocolate milk no matter what flavor I pick. The drink was fine. I got the bbq pork sandwich. It didn't look that appetizing and neither the smell. I think there was more mayo than expected. I didn't care for my sandwich at all. Next time I'll get the wonton soup.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
Stopped at Honey Buns from out of town to o try their beef noodle soup and it was amazing! My husband I each got a tawainese beef noodle and was so excited to try it. The dining area was closed so we ate in the car but regardless the food was so tasty. The broth was perfect and the beef was tender, there was a generous amount of noodles and beef to our surprise. The price reflects the quality of the soup, it doesn't disappoint!
google avatar

Karlia F.

Yelp
The food was amazing and fresh. Didn't expect it coming From a restaurant inside the grocery store but i will definitely be back. I can't get over how great the buns were and how amazing the fried rice was.
google avatar

Carolyn L.

Yelp
A small corner eatery in this huge Asian grocer. I am truly impressed. I missed some of these dishes. Like the wonton soup with noodles. That was a treat for the family to drive to Chicago from Milwaukee to have something like that. Now I don't have to drive 90mins for some. They also a small varies of Dim Sum dishes. Yet they offer enough choices to please everybody's craving. From banh mi, Bakery, bubble teas, dumplings, and steamed buns. I finally have a chance to visit which I'm happy i did!
google avatar

Yelp
So first of all, Honey Bun's Cafeteria is located in the Super G Mart, so don't be like me and drive around the shopping center twice looking for a store front! It's in the back right corner of the store. With that out of the way, STEAMED BUNS! A lot of trendy and upscale Asian cuisine restaurants are starting to feature them on their menus, and they're charging a huge premium for them as well. I went to a restaurant close to Uptown a few weeks ago and paid over $10 for two teeny tiny steamed buns! If your a junkie for dim sum and don't want to take out a personal loan to support the habit, you're going to be really happy with Honey Buns! The menu is very simple with pictures of everything they offer prominently posted on the front of the shop. Today was my first stop at Honey Buns and I tried the Teriyaki Beef, Vietnamese, and BBQ Pork buns as well as the steamed shrimp dumplings. For the price, the steamed dumplings were outstanding. It was nearly all shrimp with the only filler there to keep everything together, great texture and mouthfeel with a slightly chewy outer dumpling. As for the buns, you can't beat the price! $1.65 bun and it is massive, see my pictures. You could easily get two buns and a soft drink and have a hearty lunch for $5. I added soy sauce to the supple and springy buns and tore each in half to find a generous meat filling in each. My favorite by far was the Teriyaki Beef but they were all great. As far as the food court itself, it's no frills which is fine. The market has not been renovated or updated in a long time, but by no means is it dirty or run down; just keep in mind it's not going to be like walking into a Whole Foods that opened within the year! One thing I will note is the bathrooms (located between the 'Korean Restaurant' and the Seafood market in the grocery store side) to appear to be recently remodeled. Imagine my surprise when I walked in and saw all tile with a granite countertop, clean toilets, and motion-activated sink, soap dispenser, and paper towel dispenser! Love it! You'll likely notice when you walk in that there are two other 'restaurants' in the food court. "Korean Restaurant" as well as a counter simply named "Banh Mi Sandwiches." If you look behind the counter it appears that they all use the same kitchen space so I assume it's just an easier way to keep the lines moving based on what you're there for and organizing the prep/ready-to-serve items more easily. Also on the far right side of the food court is Hong Kong Bakery that has some amazing cakes and pastries! Next time I'll definitely be trying either one of the broths, a noodle dish, or the Fried Rice that my Yelp Friend Hashani recommended. Special thanks to Hashani for her review, I probably wouldn't have crawled out of the comfort zone and tried this place otherwise.

Yelp
I enjoy coming to Super G and always try to patronize the food vendors in here . I love coming to Honey BC and getting their custard buns ( so yummy ) . I've tried other things before and didn't like them , recently I got a fried rice dish , I believe it was the house fried rice and some shrimp Dumplings . Rice tasted over cooked and almost gummy , I couldn't eat the shrimp dumplings due to the gelatinous texture of the inside mixture and hard texture of the actual dumpling . This could just be my personal taste but I will stick To my custard buns in the future . They also make boba drinks which look tasty and seem to be popular .

Yelp
This place has a great variety of affordable Asian food. It is located within the Super G market. You're not supposed to bring your shopping carts into the dining area, so eat before you shop, or just be prepared to leave your shopping cart parked at the entrance. They serve noodle soups, buns, banh mi, boba tea, dumplings, and fried rice. I do think that the buns are overpriced considering the small size of them, but otherwise, you can sample a lot of food without paying a fortune. I had the Shrimp and Pork Wonton Noodle Soup ($7.50). The noodles are delicious, and they give you plenty of dumplings. However, they hardly include any choy. I barely had a full bulb. Boyfriend had the BBQ Pork Sandwich/Banh mi ($4.49). It was a small sandwich, but the bread was nice and crispy and the carrot and radish were nicely pickled. The meat was good too. The BBQ Pork Bun is priced at $1.25 each. Don't be fooled by the photos, most of the buns are priced EACH - you will not receive four buns (as pictured), which we did not realize because we were trying to be quick with ordering since we had arrived close to closing (they were turning customers away at 8pm and telling them that the kitchen was closed). As a result, we were disappointed to receive only one bun, but it was still tasty. Milk Teas and smoothies are mostly $3.50 each (16oz), plus an extra 50 cents if you want to add boba. The drinks are delicious!

Yelp
I come to Honey Bun's for buns. And I like them! It is inside of the grocery store, so if you're not familiar with the area, you have to go INSIDE the Super G store to get to the buns. It is usually busy every time I have been there. The staff is nice and swift with taking orders. I order to go each time and I have tried the red bean, taro, and BBQ pork buns! My favorite is the red bean, however the pork has a pretty scrumptious flavor. They do accept credit cards, but my order is always under $10, so I just bring cash. I haven't tried any drinks or anything else, but would recommend this place for sure-at least for the buns! Who doesn't love a nice set of buns?! :)

Yelp
Saved us from cooking on many occasions. Friendly, tasty, reasonable. Buns and Beijing noodles my go-to regulars.

Yelp
Love the buns I come from charlotte nc to get them really that good .Love the Produce is really fresh

Kit E.

Yelp
Best boba in town! I have tried nearly every boba shop in the Charlotte area, and none of them beat this place. The boba is the perfect texture, and their drinks are never too sweet. Their brown sugar boba beats EVERY other boba drink I've tried. AND their food is good! The fried rice, dim sum, pork buns, and wonton soup are all absolutely AMAZING! The service is wonderful, and the woman who usually runs the cash register (I love you so much), is an absolute delight and has no problem explaining anything on the menu! I highly recommend it.

Julia K.

Yelp
Best boba shop in Charlotte. The brown sugar milk tea with boba is life changing. The chicken fried rice is delicious as well. Not really much seating, be prepared to grab take out and eat elsewhere. It's worth it!
