Nice shady eating area under canopy and umbrellas. Not a huge fan of the fried chicken thighs. Think I’d prefer white meat. I do really like the ordering process with the QR codes directly on pagers. No dealing with lines. Was a little disappointed that we ordered the donut glazed cinnamon sugar funnel cake and got a standard powdered sugar one. Not worth the hassle to raise the issue.

Google
Awesome overall experience! The service is top notch and everything I ordered was gluten free (fried chicken, fries, and beers). and tasted insanely good. It's places like this that give Portland the rep it has for amazing food-cart options.

Google
This place is phenomenal. I know we are not lacking of choice in Portland but this cart stands out as one of the best things I’ve eaten in my ten years of living here. Best corn dog I’ve had by a country mile and the funnel cake was delicious. Definitely coming back here. You would not have been able to tell the vegan dog was vegan either.

Google
This is the most incredible gluten free and vegan food I’ve ever had! What a treat to eat fried food. I enjoyed a corn dog and the Vegan Mesquite & Honey Glazed Fried Chik’n & Funnel Cake. Every bite was delectable. I also enjoyed a gluten free beer from the brewery attached. The vibes were great with all the people enjoying the food trucks and beer.

Google
100 percent gluten free fried food. Corn dogs with all beef and one kilbasa. They had a vegetarian option as well but did not try it. Also being 100 percent gluten free I got an order of fries. Grabbed a gluten free beer and enjoyed the dinner.

Honey Butter Country Fair is an absolute dream come true for anyone with food allergies! GLUTEN FREE FUNNEL CAKE!! Their corn dogs and fried potatoes are also incredibly tasty, and all of their food is free of gluten, dairy, egg, and peanuts, with plenty of vegan options too. It’s ‘Fair food for everyone,’ and we make it a point to stop here every time we’re in the neighborhood. The first time I visited, I literally shed a happy tear—being able to eat a funnel cake for the first time in over 15 years because of my food allergies was pure joy.

Google
My gluten free dreams came true. I haven’t had fare food in at least eight years. To finally have found a gluten free restaurant that serves corn dogs and funnel cakes that taste 10/10 was just the best thing ever. The corn dog was sweet, crunchy, salty, and flavorful. The funnel cake was sweet, soft on the inside and crunchy and chewy on the outside and exactly how I remembered from my childhood fare days. Super quick service, my food was ready in 8 minutes.

Google
I tried Honey Butter Country Fair today, as a surprise trip my Hubby took me on while we were in Portland. The eating area was warm and inviting, and located with Munantis Brewery and Bottle Shop. The food was fresh, and I love that as a Celiac, this food is 100% safe for me to eat! I enjoyed the Fried Chicken with JoJo’s and a Funnel Cake! Chewy, crunchy, cinnamon yum! With fresh made whipped cream. I have never had a funnel cake, and I want more!. We enjoyed our food in Mutantis, where we had a gluten free beer, served by an attentive Friendly and knowledgeable Bartender. The food was full of flavor, crunchy and fun to eat! The beer was the best beer I have had in a long time! The sauces were delicious. I can’t wait to go again! Thank you for the fun atmosphere, yummy food, and the beers for taking home! PLEASE CONSIDER OPENING ONE IN BEAVERTON!

Yelp
Tried this place out over the weekend, wow! For starters, expect everything you love about hearty fare food without the fat and greasy feeling afterwards! Everything is gluten free, dairy free, and egg free. Their website goes into more detail on their menu options and restrictions, which I liked as well. The food itself was delicious, arguably one of my favorite places in the Portland area! The hours are pretty short, as they're only opened on weekends, and the location is outside a brewery, so great options for drinks (Mutant brewing, highly recommend trying their selections as well), though it might be a bit chilly, definitely worth it. No service at Country Fare, you just order online using the QR code on one of the buzzers in front of the stand, but the people working there are very polite and even donated some leftover food when there rather than throwing it away. I tried the "Linus and Lucy" corn dog with the all beef dog, just wow. My new favorite corn dog ever! In honor of doing country fare food right, I also ordered the fried chicken and funnel cake. The chicken was topped with a Korean style sauce and was nice, sweet, tasty, and very crispy! Never tasted such a fresh and filling meal with zero regrets after! If you're ever in the Portland area, I highly recommend checking this place out! Been multiple times since then!

Yelp
I am so absolutely filled with joy and wonder after my experience at HBCF. We ordered a fried chicken and funnel cake, another funnel cake with v whipped cream, a corn dog, and Jo Jo's. Sometimes all you can say is "Wow"! I am a long time diagnosed celiac so I was specifically interested in how in the heck these guys would do with fair food. Needless to say (as evidenced by all the 5 star reviews), I was absolutely blown away. The funnel cake and friend chicken were the stars of the show for us. The funnel cake is perfectly crispy on the outside and tender and donut like on the inside. Amazing! Honestly I would come back here every day if I could. It was packed the whole time we were there, and it's connected to a gluten free bar that was doing well also. Thank you Portland for being one of the only towns where a place like this can thrive. We ate outside and it was a beautiful spring day, so it made the experience that much more ideal. 5/5 recommendations and will return.

Yelp
Had one of their limited special corn dogs for Portland "weiner week" and it was the best I've ever had. The coating was so crispy and flavorful, and all gluten-free. I can only imagine the others are incredible as well.

Yelp
The food here is fresh and delicious! We love the variety of corn dogs, funnel cake, and fried chicken. Everything is gluten-free, but you would never know it, and there are tons of vegan options. The fried Oreos are super sweet and tasty, try them with the berry compote!

Jane B.

Yelp
Had a great experience eating here as a Celiac with a vegan friend! It was exciting to try fair food that I normally don't get to enjoy with everyone else because it's not safely gluten free. The food was amazing, and we sat outside at a table with a cozy gas fire. Would definitely go again!

Krystee S.

Yelp
The guy ronni g it had high energy and was very welcoming. The veggie corn dog was the best I have ever had. If you need some junk food and are gluten free this is the place for you! Go git yaself sum.

Yelp
Since we just had lunch downtown Portland, we decided to grab dessert (Funnel cake) at Honey Butter. We couldn't pass on trying the corn dog. OMG, can't wait to come back and test everything else on the menu!!!

Yelp
The food is amazing. They serve Vegan and Gluten Free, which is hard to find in town. We had the vegan corn dog, vegan fried chicken and funnel cake and everything was extremely delicious Service is great. The food was ready in 10 after ordering. We were there pretty early, before a line started forming. We would recommend this is a amazing option if you're looking for Vegan Gluten Free

Devri H.

Yelp
Highly recommend this place! Dedicated gluten free with a ton of dairy free options (their only things that aren't dairy free are optional). Incredible to order anything off the menu since I can't eat gluten or dairy!

Yelp
Holy Mousesack these are some legit CORN DOGS! Better than you get at the county fair! I mean look at that corn meal mixed in with the batter, these are the real deal! Funnel cake was crispy AF and don't skimp on the jam!

Spencer S.

Yelp
This is by far one of the best of the best Portland has to offer. They are the sweetest humans and the vibes are immaculate The food here is seriously elevated

Yelp
Do yourselves a favor and check out Honey Butter Country Fare ASAP! I had the Golden Girl and the Funnel Cake, and both were absolutely exceptional. The Golden Girl, a mozzarella stick dipped in a cornbread batter and served with homemade honey butter was absolutely divine, as was the crispy and flavorful funnel cake! Additionally, I tried some of my friend's vegan choices and they were also super tasty. Also, the owners are the sweetest folks and create a great environment and experience. I can't recommend them enough!

Kelly B.

Yelp
If you eat gluten free and or dairy free and you miss "fair food", you need to come here! This cart has the most yummy fried chicken, Jo-Jo's and funnel cakes with amazing homemade sauces. They have amazing deep-fried Oreos, too! It is dedicated gluten free, located just outside a gluten free brewery, Mutantis.

Yelp
I have been drooling over this place on Instagram for a few weeks now. Finally was able to make my way over. I've been gluten free for well over a decade and miss funnel cakes and corn dogs, like one gets at the fair. Now, I no longer have to miss them! This place is amazing! I got the all beef corn dog and Marion berry jam covered funnel cake. They have so many different toppings and combinations available for not only their funnel cakes, also their corn dogs. They have vegan options as well. My gluten eating friend loved it as well. We will both be back!

Yelp
I've been wanting to check this place out for a while, and it did not disappoint. I can't remember the last time I ate funnel cake - probably when I was a teenager working at my local water park, and before I was diagnosed with celiac. Point being, I'm old and it has been a while. I ordered the funnel cake with the marionberry jam on the side, and my husband got some of the deep fried Oreos with peanut butter sauce. Funnel cake dough was sweet (but not overly so), chewy and crispy. The jam was a nice acidic touch - definitely think it's better served as a sauce rather than on top, just to prevent the funnel cake from getting soggy. Oreos were crispy and the PB sauce was on point (& blended so it was easy to dip the Oreos in.) A trip down memory lane, for sure. Probably not somewhere I'd frequent regularly, only because it's so so so bad for you - yet so good.

Yelp
My allergen having friend was eager to try Honey Butter Country Fare when we were in Portland and it did not disappoint! They've changed their hours recently so we arrived a little too late, but owner Neal-who was so kind and gracious about the whole thing-generously offered to serve us anyway. Everything we had was super delicious. My Vegan Fried Chicken & Mashed Potato Sundae was so flavorful and just hit that comfort food spot perfectly. Paired with beers and ciders from Mutantis next door, and you have a recipe for a good time. Any sensitive eater-or one who appreciates good food-will be happy here!

Yelp
Best corn dog EVER! It brought me back to life. If you've never been here now, this is your sign! Also, the owners are such sweeties ‍

Yelp
Seriously so delicious! I wish they had better sauce options , maybe non vegan? Especially ranch. Loved all corn dogs tho!

Yelp
Awesome gluten free food! Limited menu but everything they have is awesome! Don't come here for health, come for yummy food!

Kellie M.

Yelp
Now this is not something I get to eat every day living in a small town and having celiac. I had been eyeing this place for months for my trip to Portland. Did not disappoint. We tried a corn dog, fried Oreo, cheese dog, and fried pickle. Delicious!

Alex R.

Yelp
100% gluten free fair food? I was so excited to find out about this place and even more excited to try it out. It definitely lived up to my expectations. The corn dog and funnel cakes are a 10 out of 10 and I also had my first fried Oreos which were definitely a 12 out of 10. It is a bit out of the way however it's definitely worth it.

Yelp
My kids and I came for lunch last week and had delicious corndogs my beef one was the perfect combo of savory and sweet and nice and hot! The mustard honey sauce is addicting. My daughter enjoyed her vegetarian corn dog and my youngest was glad there was plain ketchup to dunk! We had refreshing sparkler sodas that were came in fun seasonal flavors. The funnel cakes we had with ice cream and toppings were amazing! Great food and kind and attentive service!

Kelly B.

Yelp
Wow! Corn dog & funnel cake heaven. The batter is amazing. I got the Heat Wave, topped with Chipotle ranch, jalapeño relish, & green onions, with all beef hotdog. The Golden Girl is vegan cheese on a stick & I loved that too. I got the cabbage salad to get some veggies in and the salad was delicious. This is a small pictured. Everything is gluten free, but doesn't taste gluten free to me. Plenty for of vegan choices too. The two people running the food truck are super friendly. Open Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays. Will he going back again and again.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing corn dogs and funnel cakes, we have been there 2 times and I dream about it all the time. Staff is super nice and helpful!
google avatar

Lolo S.

Yelp
I love the concept of fair food, and the execution is flawless. Vegan friends? Gluten-free friends? Carnivore friends? Bring them along, there's something for everyone. The corndog are both crispy and soft in the dreamiest way possible. Vegan honey butter to dip in? Incredible. Funnel cakes are to die for. It's not just another food cart in Portland, it's outstanding culinary delights that feel like a tiny fun vacation.

Forest R.

Yelp
Literally the best corn dogs and fried comfort food I've ever had! It's all very fresh and homemade. Super friendly workers, makes a lovely place to visit!

Yelp
Stumbled upon their amazing corn dogs today at Groundbreaker Brewery. The young lady who served us was very, very sweet and friendly. The young man in the kitchen was also very friendly and worth praising. The corn dogs themselves were delicious. We've never had a gluten free corn dog that tasted EVEN BETTER than a regular corn dog. Thank you for making gluten free food more available and delicious at that.

Kathryn H.

Yelp
So yum!! Amazing corn dog. Loved the fried Oreos too, and the funnel cake! A special treat to be able to have these gluten free treats again!

Lou F.

Yelp
Really great food! We had the potato chip dog and honey butter corn dog, and both were stellar! This place is very conscious of food allergies and preferences, and we felt totally comfortable eating here (celiac). Definitely visit this food cart, these guys are great!
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Hands down the best corn dog I have ever eaten, and I'm a big corn dog guy! Then I had a funnel cake sundae and I almost passed out it was so good! If they didn't say that it was gluten-free I would never know. Best in town!

Nick M.

Yelp
I've been wanting to go here for months--the last couple times I stopped by, they were closed--but it was worth the wait! the corn dogs are delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the business owners are some of the warmest folks you'll meet. highly recommended if you're in the neighborhood.

Kathleen K.

Yelp
They were advertising as 100% gluten free, but were serving two different ice cream brands that were NOT Celiac-safe, found by a basic web search. Unsure if they have changed their ice cream brands to Celiac-safe at this time, because they have closed their website down that said what brands of ice cream they were using, and the online order website does not specify the brands, but they are still advertising as a gluten free establishment

Eazy T.

Yelp
So good. The honey butter is amazing. We haven't had anything we didn't like from here. Personal recommendation though is just the OG corn dog.

Tina B.

Yelp
We ordered the all beef honey corn dog, cheese dog and potatoes, all very delicious! Then we had the funnel dessert, which made the meal! 100% recommended!
