New NYC Restaurant Openings in New York City: January 2025 | Eater NY

"A new Irish pub in Astoria with a drinks program featuring Irish whiskeys, Guinness pints, and cocktails such as the San Patricio (tequila, espresso, Licor 43, and boozy cold foam); run by bartenders Sean Doran, Andy Collins, and Jack Jones with owner Jerry Foley (the name stems from Foley’s father’s nickname and his mother’s maiden name). The kitchen will be added later after renovations." - Emma Orlow

What a delight to be here. I live in Brooklyn and make the trip whenever I can here since I discovered it. Incredible neighborhood bar with the nicest staff and one of my favorite Guinness pours I have ever had in New York City! (probably top 3) But do not be shy to order from their cocktail list which is fun, elegant but simple and has something for every taste. Must also add that the food always hits, some Irish Classics and also late night snacks. You will become a regular in no time!

Stopped by Honey Fitz after visiting the Museum of the Moving Image — super cute neighborhood spot with a laid-back vibe. 🍻 We stuck to beers, and it was exactly what we wanted: chill atmosphere, good service, and a cozy place to unwind after a day out. Would definitely come back.

Amazing food and atmosphere! Honey Fitz is a new place and we already can’t wait to go back. My friend recommended the chicken pot pie and it was outstanding. The smash burger was so delicious as well, as were the super wet chicken wings. Service and atmosphere were great. We went on a Sunday late afternoon and it wasn’t super packed. Plenty of time to chill and enjoy good food and drinks. Highly recommend checking it out!

Visited on a rainy Sunday night as a group of three for food and drinks, and Honeyfitz was the perfect spot to escape the weather. It’s so conveniently close to the subway, which made getting there super easy — especially in the rain! We were welcomed right away by a friendly barman who invited us to take a seat, and soon after a lovely waitress came over to take our order. We went for the sliders and fish & chips — both were absolutely delicious, with really generous portions. The wine and house beer were excellent, and the cocktails that followed were honestly the best (and best value!) we had anywhere in the city. The service all evening was spot on — attentive, friendly, and never over the top. Everything from the food to the drinks was fantastic. Honeyfitz has such a classy yet cozy vibe, with that genuine neighborhood feel that makes you want to stay longer. Definitely worth a visit!

First came for drinks and had an amazing night of music with their DJ Blessed. She played such great music we hadn't heard in a while that set a really good vibe. Needless to say we made fast friends that night. Back today for brunch and Amy was our server. She is amazing, attentive and explained everything on the menu. Food was great. Got the mozz sticks by suggestion. Also had the steak and eggs. Mine came out well instead of medium but they quickly fired up a new steak and it was super delicious. I am oddly in love with their side salad and will always order it from now on. Finished with their Tipperary cocktail. Overall nice new neighborhood spot. Looking forward to more diverse DJ nights.

Was so surprised by this place! Definitely the cutest Irish bar I’ve ever been to. A great place to watch a game. Plenty of seating. I can’t believe the food. I’m still dreaming about the smash burger. Cocktails were well made and truly special. Our server was just the sweetest most thoughtful. Any overall fantastic experience. Will be back soon!

Google
This place is class. Best Guinness in the neighborhood (maybe the city ngl) and the food is on point — especially the spice bag. Very welcome addition to Astoria! Will be back many times.

Google
The Guinness was so creamy! Best pint in all of Astoria!! Great atmosphere and all staff were very helpful with recommendations of their food and cocktail menu. We had the spice bag (Delicious!) and the Sunday roast which was a great find. Cosy feel with good music and drink options, you can’t go wrong. (Try the Birthie’s Backhander) Definitely a place we will be returning to.

Yelp
Walking in on a Saturday afternoon, there was a small crowd, but still lots of places to take a seat. We sat at a table across from the bar and within a few minutes a waitress came by with menus. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and feels like a proper European pub. They pour an absolutely perfect pint of Guinness, it's cool and smooth and the best around. The namesake cocktail the Honey Spritz is light and refreshing. The menu has some great pub classics. We started with the scotch egg. Wonderfully crispy on the outside with a lovely jammy egg on the inside, it was delicious. We then went for the burgers on the menu. The regular burger is a hefty beef patty with lettuce and tomato and Irish Cheddar. The other is a double patty smash burger with grilled onions and melty cheese. Both were savory and scrumptious. Each served with steak fries, it made for a lovely lunch. Honey Fitz is a great place to grab a drink on your own or catch up with friends.

Yelp
I went here for their Friday lunch special. For $15 you can choose a meal, and either a glass of house red/white wine, or a beer. What a deal! I got their ham & cheese toastie (it usually comes with soup but I subbed for fries), and a glass of house red. The sandwich & fries were soo good! I definitely want to try their smash burger at some point. The server was nice and attentive. I absolutely love the interior, the dark green and wood looks so beautiful! It definitely has a cozy pub feeling to it. Looking forward to trying some of their cocktails and other dishes next time.

Yelp
Many many places to eat and drink in Astoria. What makes a place stand out? The service and the vibe of the place. The place offers a happy hour from 4-7pm. Specialty drinks are available. I stuck with my standard Tito and club soda. The lighting is a little dark but good vibe. Prices are reasonable. The service was excellent. I ordered fish and chips and the fish was fresh. Would I come here again? Absolutely.

Yelp
This a a great gem in the neighborhood replacing the old establishment. The drink I had was wonderful. I love the decor with ample seating along with great customer service. My drink did not disappoint, I actually ordered a second one. Looking forward to brunch.

Yelp
Super cute and cozy bar right off the N stop. Great cocktails and drinks on menu. There was even live music when we went Thursday evening!

Yelp
I admit, I still love Sanfords but they now have a major competition next door and based on my experience, I'm sure they will give them a run for their money. First, this place's kitchen stays open until at least 2am which a lot of Astoria restaurants refuse to do. I sometimes get out of work at odd hours and I need to eat actual meal aside from fast foods before heading home. This could be the answer. This location used to be a dive sports bar (clearly under a different ownership) and my jaw dropped when I walked in. Major upgrade in terms of decor, music choice and ambiance. Definitely fit for post 2020s vibe. Bar's drink selection is extensive, I got chicken sandwich this time which was great. Looking forward to trying other items.

Yelp
My cuz told me about this cool euro pub in Astoria as it's his place for weekday lunch stop for his fav of grilled ham and cheese with fries . It's my turn to see what's up and he is right about this place , it's like being in Europe with it's wood interior decor and seating set up . Plenty of tasty stuff on menu from burgers , wings , salads , sandwiches , sausages, fish and chips , etc, and I almost forgot , plenty of booze available, different selections as I notice displayed bottles at the bar area .while cuz is talking to his buds at the bar , I am sitting across the bar enjoying a Greek salad and chicken tenders .Service is great , atmosphere is great , food is very good and cuz is finally picking up the check which is wonderful and shocking combined .Will be back to see how the evening dinner vibe kicks . 4.5 stars on my yelp meter .

Yelp
An awesome new addition to the hood. Great drinks, beautiful interior, sweet beats and a disco ball. One of my new favs!

Yelp
My friend and I went to Honey Frizz for a drink and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. We ordered the Lavender Haze cocktail, but it was overly sweet with a strange taste that made it undrinkable. Trying not to be rude, I ordered another drink called Spill the Tea, but it tasted like pure whiskey--nothing close to a cocktail. The server noticed we barely touched our drinks but didn't bother to ask if something was wrong. When the second drink arrived, he simply placed it down without saying anything. My friend politely returned it, explaining that we really didn't like it. What was most shocking is that, despite returning the drink and clearly not enjoying our experience, we were still charged for it. The server didn't apologize or try to make it right, just said I'd have to speak with the owner about a refund. I've never been to a place where the cocktails were so bad that I had to pay for something I returned without even an apology. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression, and I wouldn't recommend Honey Frizz based on this visit.

Yelp
Best scotch egg I've had in my entire life. If you are a scotch egg enthusiast such as myself, this is a must see when visiting NY. It is the best

Yelp
They will try to fix you a cocktail that's not even on the menu as best as they can.. And by that, I mean classic cocktails... Like a "Sidecar" , a "Ruby" .... Good peeps....

Yelp
Came here for the first time with my fiance. Great service, great ambience and fantastic food!I've been looking for good wings in Astoria that aren't breaded and soggy. This is your place for Buffalo style wings with a great crunch yet still saucy. The Fish and Chips were also cooked very well.
