What to Eat in Maryland’s Booming Koreatown  | Eater DC

"This widely popular, female-led Korean BBQ restaurant has been in business since 2008. Seafood and kimchi pancakes along with steamed or panfried dumplings are a great way to start. After that, cook your own barbecue with a choice of high-end wagyu beef, shrimp, chicken, pork, beef brisket, prime rib, bulgogi at your table while giant TV screens play the latest K-pop hits. Entrees come with endless small sides (banchan), and waiters here use the grill to whip you up a quick fried rice. Keep the party going next door at Honey Pig karaoke to belt out tunes in your own room. This place can get popular on the weekend with wait times over an hour. A second Honey Pig Hot Pot & BBQ, located in Normandy Plaza, offers a 50-item AYCE seafood, meat and vegetable buffet. 10045 Baltimore National Pike" - Claudia Rosenbaum

Food as great and service was wonderful. I enjoyed The buffet style choices , and the fact that they had a robo waiter

I have been coming to honey pig for many years, and I love it! The food is tasty, satisfying, and at a good price. A great place for eating with a lot of friends and family. It’s become a tradition for my family and I to come whenever I come back to town, and I always bring friends here when they visit. I love honey pig ❤️

Google

Would like to point out that our server was very attentive and friendly, and this made our experience even better👍 Another good memory at Honey Pig. Thank you ♡

Google
Very nice restaurant but quite pricey for what you get. Portions aren't entirely large for the BBQ menu. I wound up getting both the Fresh Sliced Pork Belly and the Beef Brisket, both of which tasted amazing with the provided sauces and some onions. I did also order a Spicy Beef soup which was Huge and wasn't able to finish which they thankfully had a carry-out bowl for also. One disappointment was they wouldn't give up a pair of tongs so I could cook it myself which I would have preferred and is normal at a traditional Korean BBQ restaurant.

Food was awesome! I really liked the hot pot bibimbap, 100% recommend it.

We’ve been coming to Honey Pig Hot Pot + Korean BBQ in Ellicott City for a while now—not too often, but often enough to know it’s consistently excellent! The Korean BBQ never misses—fresh, flavorful, and always cooked to perfection right at the table. Every visit feels like a treat. My daughter absolutely loves it here too—it’s one of her favorite places to eat, and we always leave full and happy. A huge shoutout to Brian, who is always amazing—welcoming, attentive, and effortlessly running the show with a great attitude. And we can’t forget Lia, who was so kind and attentive in her service—she made sure everything at our table was perfect. Thank you both for making our experience special. We’ll definitely be back again soon. Highly recommend!

Google
Could have been a 5 if there was some kind of combination of different meats on one platter. Service was prompt but it was also early when we went. Last time we tried to go the line was almost down the road. Service was quick and efficient. Food had good flavor. But when I explained it was our first time dining in such a place I was looking for more of an introduction as to what is what and what you do with certain foods. However we figured it out and enjoyed our meal!

Yelp
I love it here the service here is so nice the food is amazing you get to pick your own food also there are so many options the ambiance is so nice there are so many different kinds of works of art on the walls and the service is so nice here.

Yelp
Amazing service and great food This isn't ayce, and each meat entree is about 25$. Each entree is equivalent to about a portion for one person. We got the spicy chicken, spicy pork belly, sliced duck, japchae and kimchi pancake. I love that each sit down table receives free bean sprout kimchi that gets cooked on the grill. They also gave us steamed egg and a kimchi jjigae on the house. They cook everything for us here. If you order more meat that can fit on the grill, they go ahead and cook your meat on another grill and pour it on top of your grill so that no meat is ever burnt. There's kpop videos on the TVs, which makes this place a blast.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Honey Pig for years and finally had the opportunity on a Thursday night. We were seated quickly however they seemed to be short staffed. Our waitress brought us the wrong cocktails and even forgot my sprite. She seemed very hurried and service was poor. The food was delicious and may warrant a trip back. We had the prime rib skirt and brisket. Plenty of food and even some leftover for the next day. The restaurant is noisy but not unbearable.
google avatar

Yelp
We were just two people, and the restaurant still forced a 20% service charge on us. To make it worse, the service didn't even deserve 10% -- they let our meat burn on the grill and didn't care. This is unacceptable. I will not return. Would you support a place that does this to every guest?

Yelp
Came Last Night drove 50 Mins just to get there! Then the Indian lady and the Korean Guy who was working @ 11:12 pm Sunday Night (NOV. 30) told us that the kitchen is already Close. I told them the online says 12am the Indian lady said NO it is close and the guy agreed and said yeah kitchen close at 11:15pm. Then I replied , right now is 11:13pm it means the kitchen is still open. We asked if we can just Order to go since we drove literally 50 mins to get there. But NO kitchen is close! Will you be happy with that? Hope they can Check their site and Correct It. Driving almost 2 hrs back and forth is not fun at all.

Yelp
The old reliable kbbq spot in Ellicott City, the prices are decent and reasonable and the service is pretty good as long as the place isn't packed. Meat quality for the price I think is good. Always like the brisket and spicy pork belly here. Surprised by the appetizers the seafood pancqke, dumplings, and japchae were good. There's always plenty of parking which is nice. It's not the best kbbq but it's that good old reliable affordable spot. Also very safe for introducing non Koreans to kbbq, they cook the meats for you and there isn't has many wild Korean dishes that would intimidate new folks to Korean food. It's the gateway drug/spot for getting people into Korean and kbbq food.

Yelp
Visited for a friend's bday dinner. Very casual restaurant - dining area is completely open so between the sound of the grills/fans constantly running and other patrons it can get a little loud. The food is brought out pretty quickly and the servers make sure the kbbq goes well. We were also having such a good time I forgot to take pics of the actual food. The general consensus about the mixed bar drinks: skippable. Have a soju or rice wine instead. My friends enjoyed the grilled meat options but I'm not a big meat eater so I didn't partake. The prices were also fairly reasonable; for a table of 8 our final bill ended up being around $40 per person. I had the japche and kimchi pancake. Both were large portions that I had to take home even after sharing with the table. The japche was chewy and flavorful by itself. The sauce trio they offered (honey soy garlic, gochujang, and spicy mayo) definitely elevated the flavor. If you don't eat meat (especially pork) make sure to ask for it plain. 10/10 The kimchi pancake was crispy and delicious. It was marinated in a little spice - not enough to be hot but if you're sensitive to pepper you may want to skip. The sweet soy also boosted the flavor. 10/10

Yelp
Loved this location. The food, ambiance and service were all great. The meat quality was great. They gave us complimentary steamed egg soup because our grill was having issues wasn't necessary but definitely kind of them. Definitely check this place out!

Yelp
1st time and last time As soon as you enter you are shuffled like cattle to a table. Once they sit you down, they bring out little sauces and vegetables and the menu and the servers are right on top of you. The whole experience was awkward and stressful. Everything felt pressured And rushed. It is impossible to enjoy food at this place. The people rush you every minute of your dining experience. The menu lacks detail and the servers have very, very, very limited English skills So it is hard to understand the menu, understand what they are saying and they understand what you were saying to them. Very frustrating. Their selection of meats lack quality. Avoid this place. The food is below average. Now comes the jaw dropping part. The server was forcing me to tip her what she wanted. I did not tip her what she wanted Because all of the aforementioned. I took a picture of the bill with the tip I left in case they change it to their liking and I can contact my bank. To the owner: you should be ashamed of yourself to have all of this displayed to the customers. Also train your staff that tipping is optional and how much to tip is at the customer's discretion. Also have english speaking servers that can answer basic questions about the menu and the food. Worst dining experience I ever had.

Yelp
Honey pig is always a great idea. We stopped by on a Sunday without a reservation and was pleasantly surprised to have been seated in just a couple of minutes. The proteins tasted fresh and well seasoned, and the side dishes were also super tasty. They also had a variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic drink options. I'd say the cocktails were a little on the sweet side, but I still enjoyed them. Service was very good and our food didn't take long to arrive. Definitely stop by if you love Korean bbq and are in the area!

Yelp
Honey Pig has several locations throughout VA, MD, and TX, and they're known to offer KBBQ, hot pot, and an attached karaoke/bar. We came here as a group for lunch and ordered: +Spicy Buckwheat Noodle (aka, bibim nengmyun) +Bulgogi (listed as #13) - marinated in the house's bulgogi sauce +Kalbi Beef Rib (listed as #12) - ribs marinated in the house's galbi sauce The meat quality wasn't all that great - there were lots of fat and cartilage, and the meats weren't that fresh. In addition, the galbi was apparently cooked in advanced in the kitchen and placed on the grill to 'warm it up', which was not what we wanted or expected. The bibim nengmyun was more on the sweeter side, and I thought the taste was just 'okay'; the hubs wasn't a fan. There were bottles of vinegar and hot mustard, but those didn't help at all. Service was totally whack - they were so inattentive, never checked in on our group, never provided any refills on the ban chans or the water/tea, and never checked in on the meats on the grill. Oh, and this server had the audacity to ask with a certain tone where her tip was, when the service charge was automatically added into the check - totally trying to get additional tip, which was so sneaky of her. I had to step in and had to sternly tell her to review the check that was provided to us, and her service wouldn't warrant one if we had a choice. Note that there are signs posted all over the restaurant that parties of 6+ would add an automatic service charge on all checks; obviously, their counting situation needs work. Probably one of the lower-ends of KBBQ places - avoid and save your $. +sneaky servers +doesn't adhere to their posted automatic service charge for groups of 6+ +non-existent service +poor quality meats

Yelp
I always look forward to honey pig. The brisket and pork belly are classics and I like how they give complimentary soup and steamed egg along with the side dishes and bean sprouts.

Yelp
We took our son and nine of his friends to celebrate his birthday. They were able to accommodate our group. We ordered a variety of options. The service was quick, accurate and good quality. Everyone enjoyed the experience.

Yelp
This is a sh*t pig restaurant and it was the 2nd time we visited this restaurant, where, both time services seemed to be like in the backyard BBQ cooking. The lady server didn't take care of our paid BBQ meats well, instead, left for something else and let the food burnt on the grill that we paid for. Even more, "honey pig" provided stingy side dishes and we had to request for it. At the end, the lady server placed a "service charge" on us for the bill, just for a party of 2 without feeling remorse or shy at all. On top of the service charge, still asking for tips too on the bill. What a morale?! (Copy of the bills attached). The lady server said that the owner lets them do the "service charge" because not enough tips to get reward payouts. What such a trash merchant like this??!! Overall experience seems like "tricky merchant along with tricky team members". Seems like this restaurant should be audited from hygiene stand points, as well as the quality food products for the consumer health purposes. Geez... very disappointed and super unpleasant experience !!!

Yelp
This place was wonderful! Tin and Kendall were great. I'd recommend this place to anyone who enjoys delicious, flavorful, delightful Cuisine...

Yelp
This place has gone down hill since covid happened. Service is extremely unattentive, took us about 15minutes to be served once we were seated, and we didn't even get our drinks till our food was finished cooking. we had to ask the host to get more water and our missing soup that should've came with our meal. Meat quality is just average but prices have gone up. With how much they are charging now, you would be better off going to the numerous other kbbq spots close by and actually get decent service and food.

Yelp
Hanna was super helpful and kind. The rest of the staff, I didn't get their names, but were nicely attentive. There's lots of parking and lots of seating options. And there are some familiar meat options but it's not the same LA flavor I'm used to. The bulgogi wasn't as marinated as we thought it would be and the galbi was very delicious. The space is chill with K-pop videos on the walls, but it was a fast eating spot from what I could tell. There was plenty of posters and graphics on the wall. And the flavors were just ok. I hope it gets better the more I go back!

Yelp
Always a fun time! We love coming here for Korean BBQ. We have dined here many times. Most recently I brought my mom here to try Korean food so we ordered a great variety of things. Bulgogi, spicy pork and kimchi for the grill and Bibimbap, dumplings and pancake for kitchen items. We loved the sides as well and got more servings of kimchi, pickles and rice. The staff is always welcoming and friendly and the food is consistently great. It can get very crowded so go early!

Yelp
11.23.22 It's been awhile since my husband and I have dined here. My brother-in-law's family came into town from Florida for Thanksgiving and wanted to come here as they have been here once before. Unfortunately this visit was disappointing, both for service and the food. Ten minutes after we were seated, I flagged someone down. Someone should have come by sooner to acknowledge us at the very least to say they would be back and to get our drinks. When our server came, she got our order for drinks and entrees. When our banchan (side dishes) were brought out, we had to ask for silverware. My husband ordered the Soju and had to ask several times for it. The ratio of fat to meat was disproportionate for the pork belly with more fat than meat. My family thought it was too chewy, which they said isn't the restaurant's fault. They liked the marinated rib skirt the most of all the meats we ordered, but I thought it was rough and chewy. The bulgogi was their second favorite. The service and quality has definitely gone down, IMO. My niece enjoyed the food better the last time we were there. They were also disappointed that they didn't have bubble tea, which we were informed is only available after 5pm. Given that there are other options for Korean bbq in Ellicott City, we're unlikely to come back anytime soon.

Yelp
I was not impressed. Most of the food that was already cooked on the buffet was very bland. The best part about this meal was the ice cream and little brownie bites at the end. Other than that I would not recommend very very pricey and don't get the spicy broth because it's nothing but spice there's no seasoning at all. I guess you can put your own seasoning on, but we weren't tutored very well to know what we were doing. Will not go back.way too pricey!!! Not to mention they charge full price by height so if your child is tall, don't bother going they'll be charged an adult price even though they only eat a little bit of Ramen and some ice cream

Yelp
My friend recommended this place as they have been here a few times & we both wanted Korean food. It was easy to find, with ample, free parking. I was seated immediately, and they arrive a few minutes later. Wait staff had already brought dishes, chopsticks, and the little ramekins of garnishes. We received out tea and water quickly and had already chosen our orders, so that part went quickly. I chose pork belly combo (NOT spicy pork belly, as my friend said their dishes tend towards very spicy). For my included side dish, I opted for steamed egg. My friend had been wanting to try something called tteokbokki, a kind of noodle dish with savory broth. My two large strips of pork belly were fried on the griddle in the center of the table, then snipped into bite-size pieces. Other tables had dishes cooked at their tables, as well. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. It was all very fresh and had excellent flavor. Just the right amount for me, which I appreciate! My friend took a very small amount of the tteokbokki home - the short, fat noodles (called rice cakes ) were very filling! We split our bill and it was $23 each, including tip. Altogether a very satisfying lunch.

Yelp
food was amazing ryan was a great host for our table of 6 today great energy 100% recommend!!!

Yelp
Of all the times I have been to Honey Pig, today was the worst experience. Waitress was rather rude to our family though she seemed to be rather chirpy serving other individuals. I ordered a prime rib skirt and the quantity was questionable for a hefty price of $42. Icing on the cake was the automatic tip of 18% for a party of 3, we had 2 separate checks but charging an automatic tip is uncalled for. Not returning to this restaurant specially when there are better options with better service around the place. C Minus!

Yelp
I would definitely recommend! The food (Chicken Bulgogi, Spicy Beef Bulgogi, Herb Pork Belly, Spicy Beef Bulgogi, Lamb Chop, and Hanging Tender) and the staff are so considerate and understanding! I wasn't sure if my meat was fully cooked but noticed the staff coming by to cook it. Although you mainly cook it there's support if you need it especially if you don't know how. On top of that the amount of sides and ingredients that were available surprised me! I was so excited and couldn't wait to begin!
google avatar

Deanna D.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE honey pig!!! Like, I mean, I am obsessed with this restaurant! The food, the ambience, the service, the whole experience is always amazing. I hadn't been in quite some time, so it was definitely a treat when I visited them recently! The bugolgi is my favorite dish. The beef brisket and pork belly are also a foodie favorite of mine. The potstickers are also very tasty. The drinks are good too, nice and strong as they should be!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on weekdays, before dinner time starts, we're seated as we arrived, the table already set with banchan for each pax. You got a sweet sauce for dipping, if you like something spicy please ask for the spicy hot sauce too. We ordered sliced pork belly, beef bulgogi and spicy baby octopus and pork belly set. All are cooked on the hot stone, they added some veggies also. The slices pork belly are delicious, taste almost like bacons you can't taste the fatty side unlike the spicy pork belly, you really can taste the fatty part, which is very delicious combine with the spicy sauce. As part of meat options, we also got steamed egg and a bowl of soybeans paste soup. They're all delicious, except the steamed egg were burnt on the base part, and it tasted bitter of course. The restrooms has 3 stalls they're all clean and spacious! They're very thoughtful of the paper towels selection in the restrooms, thicker and thinner one.

Yelp
My family loves this place for Korean bbq. Out of all the places we've went for bbq, this one is by far the best. It's one of the only places we've been that had a full bar. Also one of the inky places that still cooks the meat in front of you as opposed to cooking it in back & bringing it out. It stays hotter longer & it's fun to watch. Me and my dad ordered the blue piggy which is a blue rum drink, super sweet but tasty. We always order bulgogi & today my friend came with us so we ordered some extra meats, we got the beef brisket & the short rib. Their hot stone bibimbap is to die for!! They have lots of veggies as topping & the gochujang sauce gives it lots of flavor & some decent spice. The extra bulgogi gets added for some more protein & always tastes good with the bibimbap. I recommend this place to anyone looking for amazing Korean bbq with a variety of options.

Yelp
Like many ethnic restaurants with a limited range of menu selections, I might expect a bimodal distribution of reviewes for Hiney Pig. People either love Korean BBQ or they do not, and review stars probably reflect this bumodality. I have no doubt of the athenticity of the cuisine, but put me in the camp of not choosing Korean BBQ, although my tablemates for lunch adore Honey Pig, and thus, there we were one day for a lunch in Janury 2023. The menu is somewhat challenging for the uninitated and the pricing somewhat offputtingly steep for lunch. Are the days of $15 or less for lunch gone? Honey Pig thinks so! Sevice was friendly and prompt, and the staff helpfully prepared my chicken order on a separate wok, lese the raw chicken elements comingle with other foods one prepared oneself on a table-centered wok system. Accompanying were small portions of Korean garnishes, and everyone got a little bowl of rice. Portions overall were sufficient, but do not expect to be taking home leftovers. Honey Pig is immensely popular; lines at the establishment are common, expecually during weekend dinner hours. If you come during those busy hours, allow the time. One thing: recent reviewer Justin K (12/31/22) has a point in wondering about cleanliness. I could not put my finger on it, but I wondered about it too.

Yelp
Seemed like a popular place. I like how there's vents on every table. We usually go to all you can eat places so this is our first time going to one where you pay per meat. My partner & his friends seemed to like it since it was higher quality. They have a couple options for pescatarians. Obviously this would be better if I was able to eat the meat but based on what I had I would rate it as average. I'm sure it's a great option for meats eaters though!

Yelp
Warning: New visitors be warned. Stop here if customer service attentiveness is not important to you. June 2021 stopped here when passing through Maryland after checking out reviews online. Was immediately seated upon entry. First time there and was hoping waiter would tell us about the restaurant and how meats grilled at your table, wondering if we grilled the meats or if they did for us. Table prepped by a lady adding sides and other items as we sat down. She said nothing. Given a menu - no guidance really received. Waiter finally arrived got drink orders answered the questions I asked briefly and provided nothing more. Felt rushed. Waiter Seemed annoyed. -3 small small sides (kimchi, buckwheat noodles and potatoes) came with the meal. -Also came with a tofu soup, and steamed egg. Just blah. While meat was cooking, multiple people briefly came to the table to stir our food until it was done. - If you need additional drinks, napkins or silverware, ask for it when the waiter requests your order. Don't know if you will get another chance - Small steamed rice bowls given - Bulgogi was delicious - Beef Brisket was just okay - Fried dumpling fresh but a tad over cooked - garlic sauce served on the side was good. - bathrooms were dirty and disgusting - wish we saw this before we sat down to eat - bill brought promptly following the meal / pay in the front - pack your own leftovers. Neat concept. Was just okay.

Yelp
Always greeted by busy waitress who seems rushed to just seat us. Unfriendly asking how many people. Chairs & tables are sticky. Bathrooms aren't always clean. It's a hit or miss of overflowing trash. Food is too sweet. Kimchi is sometimes gross. Banchan are ALWAYS (and I mean ALWAYS) skimp if no Korean adult is present. I've been there plenty of times bc of other places full due to last minute gatherings with and without the adults.

Yelp
I came here last night with 12 other people and it was an amazing time. We ordered about $88 worth of food/drink per person and it was totally and completely filling and worth it... I had to adjust my pants waistband and unhook my bra in the car, that's how much deliciousness I consumed. We were seated pretty promptly (it was only a 10 minute wait at 7pm on a Friday!) at 3 tables that were combined, so we had 2 grills. Also as a side note, there were many large parties there, and they all seemed to be accommodated well. The staff were all very friendly, very quick with cooking the meat, and overall just the best. I'm going to be honest I'm not totally sure what we ordered, I think it was 4 trays of bulgogi, 4 of beef brisket, 4 of spicy pork, and then I think 2 trays of pork belly and 2 trays of beef rib, and possibly some other meat types. Regardless of what we ordered, everything was absolutely on point. The extras (condiments?) were also all amazing, there was obviously kimchi, sesame oil, garlic sauce, bean paste, and some spicy sauce that was legitimately the most delicious spicy sauce I've ever had (albeit not very spicy at all). We got little containers of rice, some sort of tofu soup and egg. Again, everything was *chef's kiss* devine. Of course we also got many Sapporo's and Soju (my first time having Soju!!) that were great. I don't know what the brand of the Soju was but it was very smooth - I tried the peach, plum, and yogurt, they were all good! I didn't get great photos of the meat because I was so focused on eating as much as I possibly could... but long story short, I definitely recommend this Honey Pig for Korean BBQ!!

Evad W.

Yelp
Mediocre food. Overcooked meat. Rice was soggy. Terrible and rude service. Ambiance is ok a few years ago but dated as of now. Considering this restaurant sits in the Korean town you will find plenty of other choices with much better dinning experience.
google avatar

Sarah O.

Yelp
Okay second Korean bbq place we've been to. And this one literally is the best. We got spicy sliced pork and spicy pork belly they were both seasoned and cooked to perfection. The sliced pork is the only thing they cook in the kitchen. The pork belly was cooked and cut in front of us. It comes with a few sides like rice, soybeans, soybean soup, small pasta, kimchi, pickled vegetable, egg and some sauces. There drinks are good and Strong beautiful flavors and staff.

Yelp
Everything was very good. The atmosphere was nice. The prices were good. Free parking. Great soup and skirt steak and spicy pork belly. No complaints.

Yelp
Came here for D's birthday! Had alot of fun, decent drinks, but were unfortunately out of some of the ingredients so we had slightly different recipes. Good bang for your buck here. Had nice spicy pork belly which was great and decently spicy. We did enjoy the LA galbi too, great marinade! Good service and nice overall experience. Jake n kev

Yelp
Stopped by midday on a Saturday and the wait was two hours! I def recommend making a reservation if you can! We were starving by the time we were seated so we started off with a kimchi pancake. It was Fried nice and crispy, and pretty standard. For the meats, we tried the Kalbi, bulgogi, and beef brisket and all of them were great! They're cooked with a little bit of bean sprouts, Cabbage and onion. The staff cook all the food for you, but one thing that bothered me was that they dropped a piece of raw meat in the side pasta dish and just picked it up and put it on the grill without taking the contaminated food away. Other than that, it was a great experience!

Yelp
We were denied entry to this establishment due to my son having his service dog. One employee asked if we could leave the dog in the car to which I explained he's not a pet he's a working animal. I will be seeking legal counsel. The owner was in the office and wouldn't come out either.

Yelp
For the last 10 years or so, this place has been my family's favorite kbbq spot but not anymore. The last couple times, we've noticed the meat quality (Pork Belly) was low and very chewy/dry. We had the same experience todays visit as well. Also, the last 2 times the pan was not clean from the start... I recommend checking with a clean napkin. You always know a korean restaurant is not quality/good if you don't see any koreans eating there.... Sad to say this but we won't be coming back here anymore =(

Yelp
Honey pig is like the golden sun You need it to survive It is not just the food but the ambiance as well The soju will make you say vodka what? And the service it so on point

Yelp
Was here recently (December 2022), and they didn't have the vegetables for grilling anymore. They used to have this as a standard with every order.... Also, they didn't have the lettuce for those who do not want to pair their grilled meat with rice. I hope they were just out that day, and not taken off the menu. Otherwise, the grilled meat is still consistently good. Bulgogi is always a winner, and we always love the banchan!

Yelp
Been to this location in the past, now the service and meat quality is down hill. Avoid this location like the plague. Servers do not attend to you or refill anything. Meat was cooked in the back and brought out to warm up, this was terrible.

Yelp
Customer service was great! Ambiance was cool for what they specialize for. The food wasn't my thing. It was my daughter 12th birthday and she's been wanting to try this restaurant out for a long time. I really didn't know what to expect but never again. I think it's to pricey to be cooking your own food. I even manage to get a war wound from the grease popping on my hand. I guess it's the experience but I wasn't a fan. Also, I don't do buffets and they had an buffet area were we had to get our veggies to place in our broth. Don't take kids there if you're not willing to pay 39.99 per person My youngest daughter was 5 and they wanted to charge me 10.00 when she didn't even eat or drink (she a very picky eater) she didn't even want to try the food.

Yelp
Yeah, this was a dinner done right! So on our way down to Virginia friends and I stopped by Honey Pig because we've had it in the past - albeit at a different location, but it was delicious enough for us to come back. It was Friday night and we had about a 35-minute wait for a table. Fortunately, they were considerate enough to leave tables outside for us to sit. When it was our return we were seated very distant from others which is excellent during a pandemic. There was also a plexiglass wall setup which you can see in my photo. We ordered bulgogi, kalbi ribs, spicy pork belly, and two steamed eggs. The BBQ came with rice and it was a perfect amount. Overall the three of us guys left very full and split three ways it only cost $31 after tax and tip. This please receives five stars based on the quality of their food and their prompt service. We had about four different workers stop by our table throughout the meal to ensure the meat was cooking properly and not burning. They're timing was sublime.

Yelp
I've visted Honey Pig locations in both Maryland and Virginia, but was never a huge fan since it's not ACYE. Even though the quality of their meat is good, it just never seemed worth it IMO, with so many other kbbq options in the area. Recently returned here for a friend's farewell dinner and was floored, in the best of ways. We went with six different meat options, including the basics (bulgogi, pork belly, brisket). Service was notably quick and they cooked the meats on the giant shared grilled in front of us. The grill is probably what I noticed first - it's not 'sunken' into the table like other restaurants, which (to me) made all the difference in the cooking. Everything was so tender and delicious, heated evenly and just right. We also shared an order of their spicy rice cakes and these are for sure the best I've had locally. Extremely spicy, so if you're into that, order up!

Yelp
We went as a large group on a Wednesday night and were seated together quickly with 2 burners. All of the food we ordered wasn't documented because of how fast it went. We tried a bunch of the meats all of which were so delicious, of note the bulgogi, the galbi, and pork belly were standouts!

Yelp
A normal day with my girlfriend went out to eat. Nothing special about food quality, but the service. Close to the end of the meal, my girlfriend found out a really short hair in the lettuce wrap we made with spicy pork belly after she took a bite. We called over Auntie to see if we can get the food return. She came over, gave a side look and walked away with sorry in SUPER LOW VOLUME(My gf told me she said sorry). THAT WAS IT! No feed back to the food with hair in it. Guess it's normal to everybody. Right? In the end, I ask for at least a discount for this disgusting thing that happened to us. This isn't end. The bill was around 77 something, and I got home with a notice from bank that I got charged for $150(This is the reason I spent my time to write a review)

Yelp
The food was very good. Better quality of meat than the all-you-can-eat Korean bbq places. But this was my second time through where we felt rushed out. They served our 5 meats almost all at once rather than cooking them at our table one at a time, and would not let us cook them ourself . Most of the employees were nice but our server was unfriendly even though we were very polite. So if you want to have expensive yummy grilled meat, served fast by an irritable server and be given the bill within 20 minutes of sitting down this is the place for you.

Yelp
For was amazing. The meat has just the right amount of protein and fat. Tender but not chewy. Servers were friendly and the vibe was bustling. This is an amazing Korean joint and the best Korean BBQ I have had. That says a lot because I worked in Koreatown, Los Angeles.
