Google
I like their self serving concept of the do it yourself topping. I can adjust the tea how I want it by myself. It is fun, and I can try out different ways of the combination. The good thing is the teas are always yummy, no matter how I make them. Lol I like that they have a nice seating area where I can enjoy my drinks and the delicious snacks on their menu. The owner and her employees are excellent. They were very friendly and helpful in case I needed help!

Google
I LOVE self serve options. Because who doesn’t want a drink or food exactly how they want it!?! I was excited to by in the neighborhood of Honeybee Boba and I am so happy I came by! The price is right. Unlimited toppings, you can mix and match and at $6.50 is on par with other boba spots. The space is super clean, which I appreciate and the girl helping me was patient and answered all of my questions. They also offer tasting cups if you want to try one of the options they have that day (they rotate them out so they may not have what you want when you go in it keep an open mind). I like that I can make my drink exactly how I want. Little ice, loads of grass jelly, a pinch of lychee jelly and little to no sweetener. PERFECTION. This is a new spot, and I appreciate that it’s got a different model that allows me to get my boba fix on my terms. Hahaha. They have a parking lot, which they share with Moonbelly so I expect it can get packed when the bakery is open. But today I had lots of options and it was easy to get in and out. Highly recommend!

Google
My daughter and I love coming here, we love that you can DIY your own Boba drink!

Google
It was alright. I kept seeing this place on my TikTok and Instagram. People over hyped it. I'm not saying it's bad. But it's definitely not as good as they made it seem. Employees 👌🏽 very welcoming. Kind. Attentive. Helpful explaining the drinks and how to serve ourselves.

Google
Walked in and was immediately greeted by the friendly helpful staff !!! Ordered and then decisions to be made as we got to make our own boba !!! Amazing and fun and absolutely delicious . Teens loved it as they got to choose the flavors boba and how much they put it !!! This is a definite awesome new addition to neighborhood go and enjoy!!!

Google
I love the idea of being able to customize my drink, the price was not crazy. They have one size cup which is a really good size. A variety of topings to choose from. They also have the option for them to make the drink for you and some snacks. The place was clean but I don't think they have an AC so it was very warm. I would love to see more options for the self serve drinks, like some tea (gree/jasmine) etc. but maybe in the future. Overall, we had a good experience and yes, I will go back.

Google
Interesting concept, but locks you into premade options with no sweetness adjustments(you can add sugar/honey, but some drinks were default sweet as it is). Price is about normal for drinks, musubi was a bit high considering the amount of rice you get. Service was nice but could use someone to assist on the self-serve station, I've seen someone nearly break the lid machine since they've never worked one before. If i come back, it'll be for coffee, but tea options are better elsewhere. Also, though there is a parking lot, it is limited on Fri-Sun since the Moonbelly bakery next door is open and is a very popular location.

Google
I liked the idea of make your own boba… but the execution wasn’t quite all there. A little confusing where to start, how much to add, and the tasting is odd since you add sugar after so it’s all just a little jumbled. But we got boba so all around a good day.

Yelp
Services needs to improve. I waited 20 mins for a drink when there's 3 staff working. Never been to a drink place that takes that long to make a drink. My banana matcha wasn't good, too much Matcha powder and no ice in drink so it wasn't cold. So disappointing, $9 for a drink to only toss out. Please add AC to your place cuz waiting for 20 mins in a no AC place in Sacramento heat is ridiculous.

Yelp
I've stopped in many more times and continue to love the build your own boba option. I like that while some flavor options stay the same, they have some rotating flavors that allow you to try new things. It's really fun to mix and match flavors and toppings and be in control as you figure out what you like best. It's definitely a fun opportunity for families as well as kids can get creative AND get as many toppings as they like. Don't forget about their food options and the drinks on the menu that they prepare. I've had some pretty good Vietnamese coffee here and I love picking up a musubi or two when I stop by. They have plenty of seating inside, as well as some in a little outdoor(ish) area and there's a designated parking lot. The parking can get pretty congested at peak times, but usually when I'm passing through I can find a spot. The team here is friendly, but one of the most bun perks is building your own drink.

Yelp
I got the taro cream matcha latte and it was decent. It was thick and heavy. I believe it's about 16oz or more so it is a lot of matcha which makes sense because it cost over $9. The environment is small and dark but there is also seating outside on a covered patio sunroof kind of place. The service was nice. She helped me decide between drinks between similar flavors. I would go back and try a different flavor.

Yelp
We heard about this self-serve boba place and had to try it--my daughter loves boba! You walk in, pay $6.50, and then you're free to build your own drink with whatever toppings and flavors you want. The customer service was very friendly, and the place was clean and well-kept. They have seating both inside and outside, but since it was raining, the outdoor seating wasn't really usable--everything was wet. Still, we had a great time and will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Went to try their drunk flights! I loved the establishment, with the honey bees themes. I love honeybees. I will say when we went, it was extremely hot in the place (during the summer), go during a cooler day. The staff were nice and patient as we figured out what we wanted. Tried the matcha flight and Vietnamese coffee flights. The banana matcha was a favorite and the fruit ones- with mango and Strawberry, but I wish they had more pureed with it. The coffee ones- liked the banana and mocha one.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
We had a fun time making our own boba drink using the self service option. They gave us little sample cup to try out the flavors and choose what topping we wanted to add.
google avatar

Andrea D.

Yelp
The Matcha Flight and Vietnamese Coffee Flight were amazing! My sister and I popped in an hour before they closed and were able to put in our orders and relax for a bit. Service was quick and easy and the staff were very patient with answering our questions. We purchased a spam musubi to eat while we waited (definitely the perfect size for a quick snack) and then got into our flights. The Vietnamese Coffee Flight came with ube, banana, matcha and tiramisu flavors. My sister loved the lightness of the ube flavor and the chocolate flavor from the tiramisu. Our matcha flight came with double matcha, banana matcha, mango matcha and strawberry matcha. I loved all the flavors, but wished there was more fruit puree in the mango and strawberry. The flights were the perfect size for tasting. The place was neat and quiet, even in the midst of the heat. I'll definitely be back to try the self serve bubble teas.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has a very cool boba experience. You can buy a cup for $6 and fill it up however you want. There's so many toppings to choose from. There are a bunch of different flavor teas and milk teas to add also. My kids love this place. Too bad it's only one time use. I wish there was an all-you-can-drink option haha
google avatar

Yelp
I did not try the self-serve boba as I wanted a matcha tea, but their set-up looks pretty cool and I do want to go back and try that out some time. They have a lot of options for non-self-serve (such as matcha), and a variety of boba. The prices were okay. The size was a little smaller than other boba places I've been to that charge the same price. The lid was also not a great lid for boba and made a bit of a mess when I tried to put the straw in. The self-serve does have the traditional boba vacuum seal, so I doubt that would have the same problem, but it would be nice if they had that for the made-to-order boba drinks as well. The flavor was great, though, and the matcha was well-blended (something that is becoming harder to find as more coffee and tea shops rush the process of making matcha). Overall I was happy with my drink, and while it is not my first choice for boba in town, it is definitely up there.

Yelp
Wonderful Vietnamese (cold) coffee here! Very cute little cafe type building at the 65th and Folsom crossroads. It's kitty corner to Dos Coyote, if you can't find it. They have make your own boba here?!?! That's a fun experience. You pick out your flavor, add boba and seal your cup all on your own. That is very unique, I've never seen it before. Only downside is it is pretty pricey. My large Vietnamese coffee with tiramisu foam was close to $9. But I guess that's getting more typical these days. :/ The girl at the counter was really sweet and helpful. Thanks!!

Yelp
I love this concept. Honeybee Boba Cafe is the first of its kind in Sacramento. Not talking about boba, of course, but BYOB (build your own boba) drinks. There are usually between 4-6 different flavors of pre-made milk teas and fruit teas, from the most popular that are always on tap to rotating seasonal ones and an unlimited toppings bar (my favorite part!). There is also fresh and warm brown sugar boba available, different sweetener options, ice machine, and an easy to use automatic lid sealer. The price per cup is similar to other boba cafes, maybe even cheaper if you get toppings though. So take advantage and try some extra toppings! They also make a few in house snacks, like a delicious Spam musubi and waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. Conveniently located near Sac State and right next door to a bakery. The owner is great, very kind, and receptive to customer feedback. Support woman and Asian-owned, local, and small businesses such as Honeybee Boba Cafe!

Yelp
A super cute shop! Love that you can make your own boba so if you wanna make it a specific way, it's all on you! The snacks are also very good and filling! Wish there was nicer outdoor seating but it's still a nice spot to get a refreshing drink. The is a huge variety of toppings and drink flavors which is also super nice.
google avatar

Hannah E.

Yelp
Self serve boba is delightful and it's nice you can sample the flavors. The shrimp musabi was even better than expected! Can't wait to try something else there. Not any outdoor seating but there's a somewhat open air area in the front.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
Love the location just parking is small. Self Serve Teas and flavors change up they also have baked items and seen some spam musubi yum. The boba was nice and chewy and other items you can add in your tea Drinks are Refreshing!
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
Love this boba spot! Honeybee is right down the street from me, and initially, I had some concerns about how their self-serve boba model would work. As a returning customer, I've noticed huge improvements in the set up and service delivery! Honeybee offers rotating flavors, and tonight, I mixed a combination of ube and jasmine milk teas. Honeybee got rid of the ice dispenser and you're now able to scoop the ice to your preference. They have several toppings to choose from, and the boba is in a separate crock pot! I love that you can sweeten your drink with either sugar cane or honey, and I usually opt for honey but they were sold out. The concept behind Honeybee is fun, and I love the excitement of creating something new every time I come. This spot is great for a quick pick-me-up but you're also welcomed to dine inside or outside.
google avatar

Yelp
Got the tiramisu viet coffee and egg viet coffee. Both super yummy! Not too sweet and still maintaining that rich bold coffee flavor. It's conveniently close to sac state so will def have to come again

Yelp
First time at a DIY boba spot! It was clean and staff happily refilled favorite toppings for us. There were many flavors I only wish there had been a few more tea choices. But what I got was tasty! Kumquat green tea with mango pudding and lychee popping boba. This was a fun little spot.
google avatar

Jessica W.

Yelp
I love how all the self serve milk teas are unsweetened. You can sweeten it yourself with cane sugar or honey. All the toppings are self serve as well. I opted for the honey dew jasmine milk tea that was labeled unsweetened but it was sweet with the honey dew flavor I think. I did half of the unsweetened jasmine milk tea with the honey dew Jasmin milk tea to make it less sweet. There are honey dew chunks in it, made it extra yum! It is very clean in there, which made me appreciate it even more. The menu on the wall costs .50-$1.00 more. Aka matcha, Vietnamese coffee and blended drinks. There is a case of bakery sweets as well, parking isn't bad on the weekday. It is a very tiny lot. Love it here! $6 before tax for self serve drinks and they allow samples.

Yelp
This concept is great and creative. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon around 3PM. The parking lot was full except about two spots. We walked into a busy shop, and it seemed like a lot of people. Lots of parents with their kids and everyone seemed very excited... including us! So. You go to the counter and pay for a cup. Then you wait in line, you fill your cup with whatever toppings you want and as many as you want. Then you fill your tea, sugar, etc. You get the gist! It's fun because you can be so creative with your drink. Also, the price was super affordable for the amount of toppings you could put! The only thing we noticed about this place unlike boba shops is: - There's really not much seating at all. So everyone bought their stuff and left - We also bought a bunch of other stuff like their spam and tomago musubi, the pastries they carry. Tmdedhcring a star mostly because their musubi was underflavored. Otherwise, we would definitely come again, just for the boba.

Yelp
Saw this spot on Instagram and the novelty of it appealed to me Make your own boba! Turns out, you don't really need someone to make a drink for you when all the ingredients and equipment is accessible. You can customize toppings, tea flavor, ice level, sweetness through a syrup dispenser, and seal it with the lid machine. They have multiple types of jellies, puddings, and boba toppings. The tea I chose was quite good. I sampled most of them and the Okinawa tasted great even before adding any sweetness. Their boba has a nice bite and chew to it, and the mango pudding and egg puddings were great as well! They also have some other drinks and snacks available. I grabbed a spam musubi that was $3 and quite enjoyable. So it might just be a gimmick, but I feel like the drink you can make here is actually above average for boba options in Sacramento.
google avatar

Fungus A.

Yelp
I had such a fun time putting together my boba drink and customizing it to my liking. Lots of different toppings available. The musubi snacks I bought were tasty too. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Yelp
Tried Honey Bee Boba Café for the first time, and overall it was a really enjoyable visit! A couple of things to note upfront: parking and getting into the lot can be a bit confusing since there's only one way in, so just be prepared to loop around if needed. Inside, it was a little warm during our visit, but they had heavy-duty fans running to help keep the air circulating. Not sure about the full setup, but something to keep in mind if you're stopping by on a hot day. Now onto the experience--super smooth! The woman at the counter was incredibly kind and helpful. She walked us through the whole process since it was our first time there, and even gave us a few little sample cups along with our full-size drinks. That was such a nice surprise and made us feel like they really care about the customer experience. It did get a little backed up at the DIY station since you have to move at a decent pace when others are waiting to build their drinks, but overall the process flowed well. We had no problem finding a seat, and it was nice to just hang out and enjoy our drinks for a bit. Great customer service, fun atmosphere, and a unique experience. We'll definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking to try something new!

Yelp
I like the idea of self serve boba so you can choose and really customize it how you want, but I was in a bit of a hurry so I just chose one of their items on the menu. I do want to head back to try it next time. There's also a case of baked goods and savory foods on the menu if you're looking for more than a drink. The layout of this place is super cute because you can sit inside normally or have a type of alley seat facing the window to see the outside. I think this would be super cute if the sun wasn't aiming to melt us all that day. I ordered the peach matcha drink, which had a strong matcha flavor and a hint of peach as you sip on it. The drink was very light and enjoyable to drink throughout the day. They really know how to make their drinks here and if you're having trouble with their self-serve area, don't be afraid to ask them. The ladies working here were super nice. We also got a spam musubi with shrimp and imitation crab, which was so full of flavor, I wish I got a second one. The chocolate brownie we got is more on the moist side, not very chewy unfortunately, but it's still good if you're a sweet tooth. I just prefer my brownies chewy. They also have this nice option of heating up the brownie for you if you'd like, so you can request this as well. I think it might tasted better unheated though. The heat really softened it, so I might have to try again without it.
google avatar

Jennifer V.

Yelp
The concept is a good idea but this by far the worst matcha place I've tried. It's like they didn't even try , I straight up drank powder, like did you just put powder and water and not even mix it and just add the favors in as people ordered? It was so bad that I just tossed it in the trash. Wasted $20 and late to a scheduled meeting for this nasty matcha flight. Also just saw that they charged me $6 for spam musubi but their menu said $3 because it was their spam musubi today. SMH. Sad! Will not recommend!
google avatar

Devon L.

Yelp
What a cool concept! Whether you are particular about how your boba is made, or if you're indecisive like me, Honeybee is a great option. They have a full menu of snacks, sweet treats, and signature drinks, but the real attraction is the build your own boba bar. For $6 you get to choose your toppings (and mix and match) and pick any flavor or flavor combination from their rotating tea selection (milk and fruit teas). Then you get to customize how sweet you want it with cane sugar or honey. Finish it off with the magical cup sealing machine and you're on your way. Super cool local woman owned business- I'll be back for sure!!
google avatar

Helen H.

Yelp
Parking can be a hassle. I went with a strawberry matcha, while my friends chose the DIY option. It's cheaper to customize your own as it includes many toppings. While I enjoyed my drink, it was nothing too special.
google avatar

Amy N.

Yelp
Make your own Boba drink , first time here and thought it was cool. You can taste the different teas before you commit to the one you want. Different toppings to choose from. Cute little place and the person working was friendly!

Yelp
Drove past Honeybee a couple of times and finally decided to try it out on the way home from dinner. I'd say Honeybee is known for their self-serve boba bar where you get to pick your toppings, drink, and sweetness level. You first pay and then get to pick your drink! I will say when you walk in the environment is pretty dark and did smell like bathroom cleaner. I do recommend taking a look at the drinks they have available before paying just so you can make sure you're happy with the options they have available. I was in the mood for some fruit teas and I was kinda let down after I paid and took a look at the drinks. I did sample some of the drinks before picking my final decision, but I was pretty disappointed in the quality and taste. The two milk tea options were Jasmine and hikkaido. They were on the watery side and missing the tea taste. For the "fruit" tea side there was dragon fruit and watermelon juice. I do think the dragon fruit could have had potential if it wasn't already sweetened. It was very sweet. I think they should have all the drinks as is and unsweetened and have the customers decided on the sweetness amount. As for the watermelon juice, I was a bit disappointed because it was literally just watermelon juice... If I could I would have probably just walked out without a drink, but because I already paid beforehand I decided to go with the dragon fruit and I tried to dilute it with the watermelon juice. For toppings I got grass jelly and lychee jelly. No issues with my toppings. I tried to drink it on the way home but I was just not happy and when I got home I dumped the drink out and saved my toppings and just made myself a black tea. My boyfriend went with the hikkaido because he didn't want to go taro or Thai since that's pretty typical at other places too. He wasn't the biggest fan as he thought it was mid-tier. The boba was pretty sticky and stuck to each other. I think there could be improvements in the drink quality. The concept is really nice, but I think there can be so much improvement! Until then I would recommend going to another boba shop in town.
google avatar

Vanessa V.

Yelp
Cute experience today! They have enough toppings and flavors in my opinion -- and for $6 you can create your own boba cup! My mom and I enjoyed trying it out and we will be returning! Loved the mango pudding yum! The staff was very friendly too!
google avatar

Hai L.

Yelp
Very nice concept with their self serve boba machine. This boba restaurant focuses on their really cheap price points for college students as Sac State is nearby. For $6 bucks, we were able to buy a cup, add unlimited toppings, ice, a flavor of drink and watch the machine seal the cup. It was enjoyable to watch as I have not experienced this ever. They do have daily specials as I recall us getting a free musubi with purchase.
google avatar

Maikhanh H.

Yelp
Ambiance: HoneyBee boba cafe is a cafe that emphasizes on their self serving boba machine. The shack was dark and had a nasty odor when we walked it that lingered around an area of the store. It isn't very much of a cafe and more like a shack for selling food. Service: the service was good. They sell you a cup for you to make your own boba. They were kinda and presented a sample cup so you can try the drinks. Food: The selection was plentiful and had something for everyone. We got the jasmine milk tea and taro milk tea. The respective teas had strong flavors in their respective flavors and had a nice like milk flavor that accompanied it like any good milk tea. They had a large topping selection of everything you can ask for. In addition they allowed you to adjust your sugar at 25 percent intervals which we loved. Personally we are low sugar boba fans this was really nice. Note: click the sugar machine once. This might seem obvious but for some reason I didn't understand. Don't be like me.
google avatar

Danielle B.

Yelp
Okay this was the best iced matcha latte I've ever had. And it's something I order whenever I can find it! Really cute location and sweet and attentive staff. The boba itself was good quality and the right texture. When I came in, I walked right up to the counter and didn't notice the pour your own boba set up until I sat down. I'll have to come back for that. Love the concept! They have a great selection here. My partner got a taro flavored something and he loved it (he's very picky about his taro drinks so that's a huge win)!
google avatar

Jerry Y.

Yelp
DIY Boba?! Such a cool concept! You buy an empty cup, and then fill with toppings and your choice of milk tea. There's a plethora of boba toppings. There's the traditional boba, jellies, and bursting boba. For tea flavors there's 6 different once. Normal milk tea, Thai tea, jasmine tea and taro, then 2 fruit tea flavors. Not the best tea flavors, but sufficient. Lastly you choose your sugar levels. This spot also has musubis to purchase. Didn't get a try one but will next time!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy with maybe a dozen people inside. The cafe is right next to moon belly bakery so there is a small parking lot infront. Saw this place on IG as well and was eager to try self serve boba. You pay $6 first for a cup, then get toppings, your drink of choice, and sweetener. There were only two non milk tea options (mango passion fruit tea-sweetened already, and lychee lemonade unsweetened) for us lactose intolerant folks. The mango passion fruit tea was already super sweet and didn't need any sweetener. The lychee lemonade was a bit too acidic so I skipped that one. The boba and toppings were basic, the fruit tea was mid. I probably wouldn't return again-but the self serve boba bar is a cool concept.

Yelp
Sunday, 6/30/2024 - If you like to add your own jelly, get your own boba, and pick your drink flavor, Honeybee Boba is where we went and tried. Address is 6505 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95819 (East Sacramento). Open M-Sun, 11am - 8pm. It's close to HWY 50. They have their own little parking lot. You pay $6.00 a cup, scoop your jelly and boba, pick your drink flavor, get your ice, pick your sweetner and sweetner level, put it in the cup sealer machine, and wha-la! Done. Shake your drink up and it's ready to go. They had some desserts and limited food options in the Cafe as well. My 1st time here and I like it. Cafe is pretty small, mind you. I was so sleepy all day. Got my boba tea from Honeybee and now I'm awake.

Yelp
Love the concept of self serve, and it was simple. Just buy the cup and follow the line. My kid loved it, making her own combination. I had got unsweetened milk tea with boba. You can add sugar cane sugar or honey with a machine calibrated for percentage. At the end you can seal it up. I really liked the taste of mine, even with 25% sweetness. The boba was kinda meh, but probably the ice hardened it? The place is kind of dark and small, with a narrow area to sit outside. It was pretty hot outside and the aircon wasn't really working. The place is quite new, but the owner was quite honest and transparent, and open to suggestions, of things that needed to be worked on. She, as well as staff, were very friendly.

Yelp
I went to this establishment for the first time today and had a great experience. I ordered the self serve Boba. I was looking at the menu before I arrived and wanted to order Waffles as well. When I got there they didn't have the Waffles on the menu, so I guess they stopped selling them. I didn't opt for anything else but the lemon bars did look good. I am disabled but it was easy for me to get in. My sister-in-law moved a chair over to the bar area for me so I can sit and do my self serve, then she moved it back to the table when we were done. They had different flavors of milk tea and regular tea as well as different jelly and popping boba. They also have sweetener and honey. You are able to sample before you choose. But you have to pay first. I opted for the sweetened pineapple milk tea with mango jelly and lychee popping Boba. My niece said it best " I give my drink a 10 out of 10 cause I made it." The inside is nice and quaint. The only thing is that today it was very hot inside the building. I think their ac was not working. It was blowing hot air when we were next to it. But I guess they still get a 5 out of 5 review. They were nice.

Yelp
We got here about half an hour before the store was closing so I was worried they would run out of drinks or toppings but fortunately they didn't! First, you have to order your cup and then you add the toppings! You can get unlimited toppings. The spoons of the spoons were labeled, which I didn't know at first since it was really hard to see. They have a variety of fruit jellies and puddings available. I tried the mango pudding in mines. Next to the topping on the side was a pot of boba, which I also added to my drink. There's also ice you can add to your drink. After you can pick the type of drink(s) you want. You can definitely choose to add more than one if you wanted. I tried the ube milk tea and after you add the sugar cane syrup to sweeten your drink then cap the drink. When I added my syrup I tired my tired before capping it and it was really bland so I added some more of the sugar can boba. I didn't realize that the sugarcane syrup actually sink to the bottom of the drink so you have to mix up the drink to get the syrup mixed into the drink properly so my drink ended up being super sweet sadly. My toppings also had some dried out pieces of jelly that wasn't very pleasant. The boba itself always was a little hard and tough. I overall think the serve serving bar is a great idea but would have liked it to be more organized with clearer instructions/labeling of the items. I might come back to give this place another try but not sure yet.

Yelp
Craving boba and having wanted to try Honeybee Boba Café for quite some time, I made way way over after a yoga class. The parking lot is a little tricky and parking can be quite tight, but since the infamous Moonbelly Bakery was not open the day I went, parking was no problem. I was warmly greeted by whom I assume was the owner when I walked in and she took the time to explain the entire process to me. This is not your typical Boba Café, but instead a build your own Boba bar. I was given a small sample cup to try the tea flavors before deciding on which one to use in my creation. The first thing you do is purchase your cup, then you can add unlimited Boba toppings. Next, you scoop in your ice before dispensing the flavor of tea you would like. The final steps are to add any sweetener and then seal your cup. The process is very user-friendly and it was a fun experience. I settled on the brown sugar, Boba in the brown sugar, oolong milk, tea. My drink was plenty sweet as it was so I did not need to add any additional sweeteners. My biggest qualm is that unlike some other Boba cafés, this one did not offer milk alternatives. All of their milk teas are made with regular milk. For those of us who have lactose intolerance and lactose sensitivities, this may not be the place for you. I would love to see them offer some milk alternatives in the future.

Yelp
Nothing but good things to say. The building they are in, reminds me of mad max movies, super cool. The storefront is clean, simple and welcoming. The prices for the make your own boba can't be beat. Definitely a cool concept and they had someone near the self serve bar to help if you didn't know what to do or had questions . Also, we had a few of the different spam Musubi they had and they were really Good. Definitely a fun experience and the kids enjoyed it too

Yelp
Soft opening weekend for Honeybee! They are offering BOGO for their self serve boba bar. $6 per drink (no refills) which is a pretty good deal considering how expensive boba places are getting these days. They are located on the corner of 65th and Folsom, so it's super close to Sac State. There are not a lot of boba options around here and I would've loved to have this here when I was in college! It's a very busy intersection and also near student housing so it'll be nice for them to have this in walking distance. There is a parking lot too so if you can snag a parking space you won't have to worry about finding street parking! There is seating inside and it's a bit of a darker ambiance, but there are some low bar seating options right at the entrance too if you want the warm sunlight. The self serve boba bar starts with your toppings. I thought it was weird there was no boba until I realized it was in a separate pot on the other counter. I decided on mango jelly since it closely resembled pudding but I didn't see any pudding there. My husband had the boba and grass jelly in his drink, and the grass jelly was my favorite. The boba was a little bit too hard for me but the owner did mention that she's working on figuring out timing for the batches of boba and appreciates any feedback! After toppings, you'll add ice, then pick your drink. You can choose from assam milk tea, jasmine, roasted oolong, taro, thai tea, or passionfruit (the only non dairy one). They are all pretty basic and your main/most popular flavors so it makes sense that you wouldn't see anything crazy unique, plus you can only have so many options available at once. It would be awesome if they could have an extra dispenser with a flavor that rotates out every week or month, maybe something more unique, which would entice people to come back and try it out. I mixed the taro with roasted oolong to try to get a unique flavor but it mainly tasted like taro to me. After that you can pick your sweetness level with either cane sugar or locally sourced honey. I should've tried the honey at Honeybee Cafe, how did I not think of it! I decided on half sugar, and despite all of the drinks being labeled as unsweetened, the half cane sugar was actually quite sweet. I would recommend taking a sip of the drinks before you add any sweetener. The owner also recommended mixing with a straw after adding sweetener to see if you need more before sealing. Then you place your cup in the self sealing machine and you're all set! Aside from the self serve boba bar, you can also order coffee, matcha, smoothies, and waffles. If you're familiar with the Cafe La Vissmenu, you'll find that it's an abbreviated version of all their classics! Perfect for those who love their existing menu but can't make it all the way down to Elk Grove. Definitely some things to work out but I'm appreciative of owners that are open to feedback and willing to listen! I wish them success on this new opening!

Yelp
Honey Bee Boba is such a fun little spot. It's self-serve, which is cool if you like customizing your drinks. They also have drinks you can order. I customized a taro drink and it was creamy, not too sweet, and the boba had a good chew. The toppings do stay out so some of them might not taste as good. I also added egg pudding, and it had a weird texture to it. Wouldn't recommend. But the boba was really good. The staff was very nice and helpful on how to use the self serve station. Honey Bee is a solid option if you're in the mood for something quick and customizable. Would definitely come back to try other flavors!

Yelp
Amazing Drinks. I'd recommend Dragonfruit Lemonade. Service Good. But it took 5 minutes just to get 2 cups of water. Ambiance was nice except the music was a bit loud. %100 go to this place

Yelp
I'm so happy that there is a self-serve boba spot in Sac now! I had been wanting to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint. It is located right on the corner of Folsom and 65th, with ample parking making it easy to access. When you first go in, you pay for your cup and then you are able to make your own drink. They have different toping options including lychee jelly, rainbow jelly, grass jelly, boba, and many more. You then choose your drink flavor which you can of course mix together to make your own drink. They even have little sample cups so you can try their tea flavors before you serve yourself. I went on a Tuesday around noon, so the service was quick because there was no line. Inside the ambiance is very nice and quiet but not much seating. I tried their spam musubi and it was delicious! I would definitely come back because the drinks are reasonably priced ($6.50) and you get to add as many or as little toppings you like!

Yelp
You had me at Self Serve Boba! This weekend was the Soft Opening and they were having an awesome BOGO Special so it was the perfect time to check it out. There's a cute entryway with open windows and seating. Inside is rather dark, but has more seating and a big screen tv playing K-Pop music videos. We were immediately greeted and told all about the self serve boba bar. It's $6 for a cup. You then pick your toppings (boba, clear boba, a few different jelly, mango popping boba, strawberry popping boba and lychee popping boba). Then you add the crushed ice to your liking. Next you pick your drink (Thai tea, taro milk tea, black milk tea, oolong milk tea, jasmine milk tea, and passion fruit tea). You can even mix them! Then your sweetener, cane sugar or honey. Once you're done, you place it in the machine and it seals it for you! You can also order Vietnamese Coffee (a few different versions), Matcha (strawberry and mango to name a few) and smoothies! It was definitely a fun experience! And everyone was super nice and helpful. We sat in the entryway and enjoyed the fresh air while sipping on our drinks!

Yelp
I've been here a few times. I love coming here and using the self service boba station. The station has a good selection of toppings. You are given a sample cup to taste the teas. All the teas have good flavor. Station is always clean. I've never seen anything like it in Sacramento or anywhere else. The whole place is clean, even the bathroom. I'd recommend this place! It's my favorite tea place.

Yelp
Cute boba cafe off a main street. Love the name and logo!! It was pretty busy when I went so there were no parking spots left..not to worry I parked in the parking lot next to the shop and walked over (luckily the neighbor store was closed. The owner was super friendly and welcoming. She gave me a sample cup and sent me off to try as many flavors, toppings, concoctions as I wanted. They change flavors daily so my favorite today was the jasmine tea mixed with the mango milk and mango jelly. I also really liked the cantaloupe milk. Some of the flavors come sweetened to allow you to sweeten yourself. The mix of the jasmine and mango were perfect together, not too sweet. I'd totally order it again, just hope they have them when I come back! I also tried the spam musubi and strawberry waffles. I absolutely loved the spam musubi...it was perfectly seasoned and wrapped in seaweed. This was my favorite thing of the night!!! The strawberry waffle was very good too. The prices are reasonable too...the boba was $6 with free toppings and as much as you want. The musubi was $3 and the strawberry waffle $8.

Yelp
I had been looking forward to trying Honeybee Boba Café since it opened, but overall, it was just okay. I visited with a friend on a Saturday afternoon, and although it wasn't too crowded, I think my expectations were higher after seeing some foodie influencers rave about it. There was a noticeable odor in the air that made me want to hurry through the process of making my boba, which didn't leave the best first impression. The concept is fun and definitely draws boba lovers in with the self-serve setup, but it also felt a bit gimmicky. There wasn't much guidance when we walked in; it wasn't until we got to the cashier that they explained how the process worked. You order at the front, then customize your drink by choosing your tea and toppings, and finally, the machine seals it for you. I did enjoy my taro milk tea and appreciated that you can control the sweetness and add as much boba as you like. My friend tried the fruit tea of the day, which was also good, but paying to make our own drinks just didn't feel worth it. Since it's self-serve, there's not much to say about the service. The ambiance was casual, though surprisingly dark for the time of day. On the upside, the prices are reasonable, and given its proximity to Sac State, I can see this spot appealing to students looking for an affordable treat.
