Honeygrow Test Kitchen - Review - Fishtown - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"There’s nothing wrong with build-your-own salad places, per se. But sometimes you’re just craving something that has a little more substance to it. That’s where Honeygrow is particularly useful. You can still make your own salad here, but at they also have off-menu items at the test kitchen that they don’t at other locations, like a buffalo blue stir fry that you should go out of your way for, even if you live down the street from one of their other locations." - Sydney McElwee

I’ve come here twice in the past and I’ve had pleasant experiences both times. The service was good and the food was delicious, it’s very conveniently placed on Temple’s campus right on Cecil B Moore, which is good especially if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat.

I normally love going to honeygrow and each time I've gone, I have ordered the shrimp caesar salad. However, on my most recent visit I found a living bug in my food. On top of that, they forgot a brownie that I ordered, so I had to go back and request it. For the price of the food, I expect better experiences and food quality, not health risks. I'm really disappointed.

I ordered the Garlic Butter Chicken and it was like eating from a salt shaker 🧂 I was told later this specific meal was not good and to just create your own bowl and avoid that sauce. There are multiple kisoks to enter your own order. But since they weren't in a rush to fill orders the pickup area was crowded with people and rows of stacked chairs. The drink area and before we sat down was fairly clean which is a plus. But that's probably because it looks like everyone just picks up or gets it to go. The table I sat at was made from stainless steel. The tables are very close to each other and mostly the spots are just simply counter and chair type eating area The bathroom requires a four digit code you have to ask for. But on the plus side this means the bathroom is fairly clean I personally don't like what I eat here and would like to maybe try again but it's definitely down on my list to revisit. Especially after the death-by-salt meal I picked. FYI - My low rating is because how bad the food experience here was. An hour or so later and I'm still feeling the salt in my tastebuds

There was unexpected chili in my food. For 14 dollars, the noodle bowl doesn’t even get a grown man half way full. They were nice and it’s looking nice but the bowls are not worth it. The honey bar was pretty good tho.

Ryan the GM is so sweet and always takes care of us. The place is incredibly clean and the service is great. They never miss with the prep of the food either. I’ve never receive something that wasn’t made well.

Came here for lunch, I got the seasonal Chesapeake Crab stir fry (5/5). I replace the diced onions with spinach and it was packed with flavor and well sautéed. Next time, I will remove the added garnish.

Google
As always, HG serves up the best stir-fry dishes. Fresh ingredients and packs a flavorful punch, I'm enjoying their seasonal Harvest Soba stir-fry. This particular location on campus is spacious and has lots of seating. On a sad note, today my bowl didn't come out as hot as I expect it to be on this chilly day, and my toppings were only discovered when I reached the bottom of the bowl. I do not recommend adding pomegranate seeds since they did not seem nor taste fresh to me. Second time around, I came in on a busy Saturday night and order my usual Coconut Curry Stir-fry. First time opting my base for zoodles (zucchini noodles) and, wow, did that hit the spot for me after a good workout. My takeout container came out hot, just the way I like it, this time and warmed me up instantly! Thank you to the nice and energetic staff that prepared our meals!

Yelp
Tidy restaurant lots of busy hardworking staff. My chicken kale salad was magnificent. Delicious , fresh and colorful. I was going to an event across the street. Service was excellent. I would definitely eat here again.

Yelp
This review, unlike others is going to be takes more time than it did for two to finish metals. Fitting for the meal from a restaurant whose name consist of the two words I kept saying to each entrée before it was opened, "honey-grow"! Let's start with stirfry. Unless you're desperate and there's absolutely no Chinese restaurant available there is no reason to order stir fry from this chain restaurant, that's mind-boggling how it's been successful between the small portion with mostly noodles and a taste, which I was searching to find, it is definitely one of the three worst stir fry dishes I've had in over 40 years. Aside from the above, one of the problems with both the vegetables utilized in the stir fry as well as the salads, is that for a restaurant chain, that you would assume, focuses on healthy ingredients, as opposed to other fast food chains that mostly all utilize preserves, and the dirty dozen of vegetables, 95% of the ingredients are not organic, and are known vegetables high in pesticides and other carcinogens- simply look at the very resourceful website ewg.org, which will greatly benefit your health, as well as anyone that you care about. If the ingredients utilized by Honeygrow were organic, and did not include anything toxins, and there was an assurance of no preservatives, I could try to substantiate quality over quantity, but, still compromise taste. But, that doesn't apply here. The salad, can include organic spinach, if that's what you choose as your base. For the rest of the ingredients, I will went with safest (aside from carrots) choosing the edamame, snow peas, chickpeas, Mediterranean herbs, along with the grilled chicken. As the order was delivery, I can't comment on the casual ambiance. Honeygrow does have items, very limited, to accommodate people with gluten allergies. Otherwise, if someone were to suggest ordering from Honeygrow again, my answer will simply be, "honey no!"

Yelp
Well. I was hungry, and wanted a tasty lunch. I opted to order and have delivered via one of the takeout apps. It was easy and straightforward. I wish the portion was just a smidge larger, or it was just that good I wanted more!! The noodles weren't mushy for being smashed into the container. The broccoli was just the right crunch. I never had fried crunchy onions on top and wow, good addition.

Yelp
Service was quick and professional. You order at a kiosk and they let you know when it's ready. Relaxed atmosphere. I had the red curry which was good and the rest of my party ordered make your own which they really enjoyed. Everything was good, light and filling. Kind of pricey but worth it.

Yelp
The food was good. The service was spot on. Glad they are just off Broad street. Rewards are always nice so I can get free food

Yelp
Good place for a quick healthy meal. Ordered a kale chicken Caesar salad and had no issues. Portions were decent, food was fresh and tasty, and service was fast. Only reason it wasn't 5/5 was the prices are a bit high for a fast casual place. That said, it was a good meal and I'd definitely come back.

Yelp
I ordered dine in. They put it in a to go container. They missed three items in my order. Barely any steak. For 16 dollars this is absurd. This is the second time I have gone here and my order has been messed up.

Yelp
I love every honeygrow I end up visiting. It is so cool how the set up is the same. I think the ordering system is very easy to use and food has always came out quick and fresh. I got the Classic Shrimp Caesar salad which had a great amount of shrimp. I don't think the default option of seasoned croutons and shaved parmesan really added anything to the salad. Both made the salad too salty. I think by default they should only have parmesan or croutons (both is too much different flavors). I highly recommend the Brownie Crumble Honeybar. I like the fruit at the bottom mixed in with the brownie pieces.

Yelp
got 2 diy stir fry with chicken and tofu. food was great however they mark pickup orders ready before they prepare them (via doordash).

Shyla S.

Yelp
this was very delish! the service was ok.the waiting was reasonable but good.the food was worth the wait!
google avatar

Micaelly A.

Yelp
Great place if you need a quick and different salad. I got a Make it Grain, which came with a load of good and healthy stuff. They do allow you to alter your salad as well so if you want something vegan, vegetarian, or simply if you don't like something, it's very easy to change your salad and support those needs. The staff was friendly and the wait was not too long. I had mine as take-out so I didn't experience their in door restaurant.

Yelp
Honeygrow has been my go to for lunch and dinner the past few months. I'm a fan of the red coconut curry with shrimp. I've never really explored other than that menu item, but I'm sure the other stir fry options are great as well. The rice noodles are usually tasty and good with the exception of 1/5 occurrences where they were trying a new noodle supplier. I was glad to see they went back to the original supplier. There was also an instance where they were out of noodles and rice which I had to unfortunately had to leave without ordering anything. These situations were not the norm from my experience but they have happened in the past 2 months. I do recommend checking your order before you leave though because I have missing or wrong items. Overall, the food is fresh, tasty, and very cleanly! So this place is a thumbs up.

Yelp
Since my last review, I stopped in again and had a great experience! I was able to order from the kiosk (next to it was hand sanitizer), easily placed my order, customer service was great, and the place was very clean! Came back and ate there. Ordered my usual: red coconut curry, roasted shrimp, jalapeños, pineapple, scallions, cilantro, with the original rice noodles! They brought them back y'all! I was so happy! Also, reached out to Michelle, Guest Experience Specialist who reimbursed me for my unsatisfied past experience (which I was not looking for or expecting a refund). It's a great feeling when a business values their customers and go out their way to make them happy! honeygrow is still one of my favorite spots in Philly!

Yelp
$16 for a salad where 3/4 of the lettuce was inedible. Seemed like it had gotten frozen at some point and thawed into a wilted mess. The chicken was also dry. Who has time to go back and have them fix it!? I don't know how they didn't notice the lettuce issue, that's a bit disturbing.

Yelp
Nice noodle dishes. A bit pricey in relation to the size but enjoyable. Order was on time and tasty.

Yelp
Honeygrow is near and dear to my heart, a personal favorite of the surrounding Temple campus restaurants. It is literally PERFECT for those who are hungry on a budget and on a diet, but still want to have a good fulfilling meal. So many different combinations and this place is the epitome of innovation. With advancing technology, skip the ordering and head straight to the huge sleek touchscreens. With a couple taps, you get to fully customize your order, and if you're not sure what to try, they have the pre-made honey grow favorites but still super easy to swap out every little thing to pick and choose your faves. I've tried all the different flavors, bases, proteins, toppings - I've finally found the perfect combination (in my opinion). My new go-to order is the spicy garlic chicken combo BUT swap out the sauce for the sesame garlic. I love the combination of ingredients of the order, but the sesame garlic sauce is too good to pass up. Orders in the restaurant come with these cool bowls with a little duvet to put your chopsticks, so cute. To go orders come in Chinese take out boxes, even cuter. Hefty portion, everything is cooked to perfection with an amazing balance of saucy, savory, crunchy, soft, chewy, moist, you can have it all. Orders come out FAST so if you're short on time, this place is perfect. And to top all of this off, the place even comes with FREE WIFI.

Yelp
My go to healthy fast food options are Honeygrow and Sweetgreen. Now Sweetgreen takes the cake (ironic I know) for salads in my opinion however Honeygrow wins for stir fry! I try to get something different every time I go. I've gotten Spicy Garlic, Walnut Basil Pesto, Red Coconut Curry, and i've created my own. Red Coconut Curry is however my absolute favorite of the bunch. If you're a Thai food fanatic this is your dish. Also a huge plus in my opinion, you can customize (types of noodles, protein, veggies, sauces, etc) each dish at a kiosk so they don't have to deal with undeceive people..aka me. Tip: Make sure for protein you UNSELECT the default option before choosing another protein option. lol I wanted tofu so I selected it but didn't realize the shrimp was still selected...so I ended up getting both in my stir fry. It was interesting and in my defense, I was starving so I wasn't paying attention lol May the odds be in your favor y'all!

Yelp
As a college kid, it's hard to find healthier places to eat with decently affordable food. As a student on Temple's campus, I find that Honeygrow is a delicious option. I go on a pretty regular basis and took a few friends this time. We all used the mobile app, and I gave my friends a referral code through the app. I ordered a stir fry with egg white noodles, tofu, sesame garlic sauce, bean sprouts, broccoli, peppers, and some garnish. For around 8-11 dollars, I think Honeygrow is a decent bang for my buck. The stir fry boxes are packed with noodles, and they generally keep me full for hours. I also like that the mobile app makes it easy to order ahead and pick up. My friend who was pretty new to Honeygrow also enjoyed her food. She ordered a stir fry with egg white noodles, beef, sweet soy five spice sauce, a ton of veggies, and some various garnished. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the Temple University Honeygrow. I've had a few order errors before, but for the most part, the taste, quality, and price of my food keep me coming back. It's a delicious, healthy, mid-range price option on Temple's campus.
google avatar

Iman S.

Yelp
I first went to honeygrow because it was a new food option on my college campus. I downloaded the app which is great for pick-up when you're in a rush. Bonus: it comes with a $5 discount on your first order. I ordered the sesame garlic stir fry which was quite delicious. The beef was cooked but not tough. The seasoning was delectable, and it was great as a wholesome, healthy meal (new year, new me?). Honeygrow also offers a number of other healthy, filling options. I would recommend this place, especially to Temple students, and I'll definitely be going again!

Yelp
I stumbled across this place while touring the campus of Temple University, so I decided to give them a try. First let me start off by saying that the restaurant was spotless! There was only one employee working which was weird but she handled things pretty well I guess. I didn't appreciate her talking on the phone while she prepared my food but whatever. Anyway- THE FOOD= nothing to write home about. I created my own bowl and selected chicken as my protein. Oh boy was that a mistake!! The chicken had a really weird taste to it that I honestly can't describe. I ended up picking the 5 tiny pieces of chicken out of my bowl and throwing it in the trash. The vegetables, noodles and sauce were just ok but there was no wow factor. This place may be great to some but I was totally underwhelmed.
google avatar

Yunica J.

Yelp
The timeliness of online orders has definitely improved (yay!!!), but the excessive sauce issue hasn't. I always specify "light sauce" when I come to this location because they really overdo it on the sauce, but my order today was LOADED with sauce despite requesting light sauce. I think the solution for next time is to just get sauce on the side...
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
I had this once before and enjoyed it. I couldn't remember why it's taken me so long to go back. After I got my meal today I finally remembered why. I am basically spending $10 on just rice. I got stir fry with ground turkey and green beans. I really like the flavors but could probably replicate it for a quarter of the price. What irks me is that I got about a spoon full of ground turkey and five small green beans. The rest of my container is brown rice. And they didn't even fill up my container to the top! I know $10 is not much but when rice is 3/4 of the meal then I feel I did not get my monies worth. I probably won't go back.

Asmaa A.

Yelp
Honeygrow is a really great option if you're looking for healthy "fast food". As a student on a budget, it's very conveniently located on campus and the pricing is fair. Each time I've ordered from here I really felt like I was getting enough food and good quality as well. I used the app to create a custom order and got a code from a friend and we both got a discount from our orders. I think this is a great option for students, when saving a little goes a long way. The app was easy to navigate and the food was ready on time and was very satisfying. There is a large variety of options to choose from if you're making a custom order or you can just pick a preset meal - I've tried both and they are both equally as good. Overall, really good option if you're looking for something quick and healthy. And with the app, you can order and just pick it up and go which makes it very convenient.

Yelp
In terms of honeygrow experiences, this one was just okay. The ordering process was straightforward and easy as always, and there was a lot of seating in this particular location. I was in the mood for something different from my usual salad order. I had tried the red coconut curry before at an event so decided to go with that. It took a while for the order to come up but since I was getting something hot instead of a salad, that was fine. When my name was called, I had to ask for a cup and the extra slice of bread that I ordered. I feel like this happens a lot at honeygrow; something often tends to be missing from the final order (occasionally, it's the salad dressing, which is super annoying when you get it all the way home!). My noodles were so lightly dressed there was barely any flavor. I was glad I added on crunchy onions at the last minute, otherwise there woudn't have been much taste at all. I really like honeygrow overall and especially their mission to use high-quality ingredients, but the experiences can be hit or miss.

Yelp
Did not eat here today but there was a shrimp on the floor right by the door. PLEASE clean this please! I almost steped on him and could have sliped! I have ate here before I found the shrimp and I like it but it makes me want to have more food. It's good and tasty but please Fran needs some more food! Here is the picture proof of the shrimp.
google avatar

Yelp
Really nice place to stop by for a quick lunch. I like the option of customizing your entire order and trying new combinations. I had gotten the stir fry with chicken, a mix of veggies and regular amount of sauce mixed in. (I forgot what sauce it was!) I would recommend getting less sauce or on the side because everything gets really soggy. Location is pretty convenient to the campus area. Service is really quick and friendly, which is a great plus! I would say the price for the serving size might be a bit overpriced, but it's tolerable if you really enjoy the food.
google avatar

Ashley W.

Yelp
My to go spot here in Philly. I'm new here and haven't had the best of luck food wise. I'm from the south and love foods with lots of flavor and good quality. Honeygrow hasn't disappointed me yet. I love their CYO stir fry options and am looking forward to trying one of their salads in the near future. I would recommend their Sweet Soy Five Spice with your favorite proteins and noodle selection. I usually choose ground Turkey, chicken, mushrooms, red onion, kale, and cilantro tossed with their egg white noodles. The only thing is their green beans can be a little too fresh for my liking and not cooked enough. So I wouldn't try that option again.
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
Was really looking forward to eating at this place because of what I've been hearing from my family in New Jersey and because I'm a west coast guy. Overall the food was quite good but my issue is definitely with the service. The problem started when I picked up my order and I saw that the carrots were missing in my bowl. I took it back to the front and let them know that they had missed the carrots, no apology was even given. Furthermore the lady went back, got me raw carrots, and brought them back to put in my bowl. I looked at her and asked if she could stir fry them. She unhappily went and stir fried them for a couple of seconds and then brought them back to me. In most situations they would have made a new bowl for me or at least offered to do so. Would not recommend this location.

Yelp
Not a bad spot to grab a late lunch and crank out some Yelp reviews. Location is very convenient in Morgan Hall- right on the corner of Broad and Cecil B.Moore, outside of the Broad Street Line station. The interior design and ambiance is pretty consistent with that of the center city location. Outdoor seating adds a nice touch, especially during this time of the year when it's still really nice out. Unlike the center city location, this place is not extremely packed, which is a huge plus. Food is ordered on touch screen monitors and food options include various types of salad and stir fry. For those who are familiar with the honeygrow in Center City, this location does not offer the kale'atta smoothie, however, I believe all other food items are the same. This is a perfect healthy alternative to Temple's campus food. Service was friendly, but a little slow. Although there were no orders in front of me, I had to wait for about 10-15 minutes before my stir-fry was ready. But from what I know, this place recently opened (about 2 weeks ago?) so I can be understanding of this. Aside from the service, I was quite satisfied with the food quality. My stir-fry came with a lot of toppings and vegetables, base-protein-vegetable ratio was on point, and I received all of my ordered ingredients. Definitely not the most affordable food option you'll find on campus, but the quality is worth the price in my opinion. Great addition to Temple's campus and I look forward to being back!

Yelp
An affordable, well-made salad is a rare thing in Center City (Market-East). There's plenty of the Pay by the Weight options, but I tend to go over board at such places. The Quest: find a place that within a short walk that makes a decent salad but doesn't whack you over the head with a big price tag. As a point of reference, I consider Salad Works to be over priced and not very appealing. The closest place that I could find that met my criteria is Honeygrow. While searching on Google for a menu, I saw an ad for their mobile app - you get $5.00 off your first order!!! That's an IMMEDIATE win. I went with the Cobb Salad - overall, the ingredients were okay at best, but not terrible. In comparison, I would sit them in the same world as a Wawa pre-packaged salad. Saving grace comes in the form of a very good White Balsamic dressing. Normal pricing for this salad is $11.00. If I ABSOLUTELY had to eat a salad, I would probably go there again - for the sake of pure convenience. Otherwise, I'm not sure that their salads would do it for me. However, they offer a menu of customized Noodle dishes... Boxes appeared to be a pint or half pint of food... Might check those out before deleting the app from my phone.

Yelp
I love this place so much! Definitely one of my favorite places to get salad on Temple's campus. The owner is a Temple grad, and most of the food is locally sourced. I always order a create your own salad, I.T is a little expensive. However, I believe the price is worth I.T as the food is local and absolutely delicious! The wait time for food is fast, and is always awesome. I love coming here!

Yelp
Larry Alvin is very accommodating and awesome! This honey grow is for sure the place to get amazing, delicious tasting food with wonderful customer service.

Yelp
So today I was recommended by several friends of mine to try their stir fry. So I got the "make my own" stir fry which came down to 15.34$. For the portion, I say it's a bit overpriced, but that was not my only issue. They also burnt my egg, forgot my pork, and the flavor wasn't even that good. I got a 'regular' amount of sauce and I can vouch that there was very little and I do not want to pay extra for just a little more flavor. I'm very disappointed with my first experience. This will most likely my last time as well. I had a nice conversation with the cashier; however, when I called to tell them they forgot my pork (which was three dollars more than the veggie option, which is what I was provided) , I was sent straight to voicemail. Thank you for your shitty food.
google avatar

Lily G.

Yelp
I understand the healthy concept but sorry, not a big fan of this retail. I also think the price is a little bit high when It comes to a fast food retail.
google avatar

Sean R.

Yelp
Dear Mr. Grow, 3 stars. why? mediocrity. how? i wasn't sure if i was eating noodles or spaghetti. regardless, alright meal, fair amount of proteins in my stir fry, not enough vegetables however. how does that make sense? thanks for the food tho pretty covid safe for those concerned.
google avatar

Jonny R.

Yelp
This is going to be overstated. I don't know how to dine in late capitalism. Honeygrow, let me say, has good food and is a nice option for lunch. It's a little pricey, but not too bad. But the automation and the postmodern dish construction was just over-the-top. Not only do I relate to a machine, I don't even use a menu, I essentially construct a dish I want based on the options and someone cooks it for me. That's a nice idea in the era of the gig-economy, but the solitary experience seems to be contradictory to the spirit of eating and dining. I may go again, but it definitely gives me a bit of an existential crisis.
google avatar

Jennifer A.

Yelp
This particular location is notorious for screwing up orders especially if you order through the app. Save your time and your money and travel to the City Ave location instead. UPDATE: Before I made this review, I reached out to the store and to HG with no response from either regarding the situation. However, I find it odd that they have time to comment on Yelp before responding to calls and emails about their service.
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
Fast and stress-free ordering. Vegan options available. Tiny tiny portions, healthy healthy food.
google avatar

Thao N.

Yelp
To me this place was way too overhyped.. especially being somewhere near college students. I really like how they get their ingredients locally and such but it was way way too overpriced when faced with the amount you get and the way it tasted. My order had no had no flavor yet my friends was too salty and overwhelming. I ordered some kind of seasoned turkey, it was neither seasoned nor did it taste like turkey. Some kind of weird white meatball kind of taste and look.. I mean people very friendly but otherwise, I'm just overall disappointed given how much people talk about this place. Will not be going back.
google avatar

Camryn B.

Yelp
I love honey grow, but today I really wanted extra sauce on my stirfry and I paid an extra 50 cents (?? The charge seemed kinda dramatic for just an extra squirt of sauce) but when I brought it home im now seeing there's hardly any sauce on it.. less than I get when I don't pay the extra charge.... It might only be 50 cents but I still feel cheated and I'm very unsatisfied with my meal. $10 for an undersauced stirfry is gonna be a no from me. They didn't even cook the broccoli in the sauce. Dissapointed feel like I wasted my money
google avatar

Madison L.

Yelp
I go here at least once or twice a week and it's my favorite place on temples campus!! Both the salads and stir frys are extremely good and worth the price!! The only things that I've notice are that sometimes when I get salads they're out of certain things and the wait always takes a very long time even when they're not busy. It could just be the time that I go at but the food is delicious and worth the wait!
google avatar

Yelp
This is an update on a previous review. I had a bad experience with a to-go order and posted a review about it commenting on how I was surprised since every other experience I'd had with Honeygrow was positive. Management reached out, listened to my concerns, and assured me it wouldn't happen again, which I really appreciated. I've been back several times since then and have only had positive experiences. The food is always delicious and I the costumer support I received was outstanding. If I'm being extremely picky, I wish the portions were a bit larger because the food is so good I'm always left wanting more. Overall I'd definitely recommend Honeygrow to anyone looking for something tasty and healthy to eat.
google avatar

Tori R.

Yelp
The food here wasn't the best. I'm a vegetarian so I didn't get meat making the price a fair one. However, my food was kind of flavorless. I even got garlic sauce and extra garlic but it didn't seem to help.

Yelp
Decided to go for a healthy option after the Temple basketball game. The salads were very good at this location. I normally get one of the noodle bowls from HG, but opted for a salad this time. The Golden Curry salad had a very nice flavor, was fresh and unique considering its main green was kale. I enjoyed the blend of curry and cauliflower that helped offset the bland taste of kale. I added chicken for the protein which helped. My wife ended up enjoying the Cobb Salad. We tried all their organic drink options and the best one was the tea. The service took a little long since the salads are made to order and most people get the stir fry bowls so it was expected. I never have a bad experience eating at any HG and would recommend you check it out for a healthy and delicious option. One interesting tidbit about this location is the company's founder is a fellow Temple U alumni and they happen to mention it in the decore. It's great knowing a fellow alum is responsible for a successful chain.

Yelp
Hello everyone. As you may know, I often find myself patronizing the restaurants of the Philadelphia area when I go to visit my lovely granddaughter. Another place that was her idea. I am well over 60 so you may call me old fashioned however the atmosphere of the establishment put a sour taste in my mouth before my meal had reached my taste buds. To accommodate the anti-social millennial we order on big screens and dont talk to a single REAL person. Very confusing if you are not up to date with latest technology and forgot bifocals in the car. I will say that there was a good amount of options even though I did not understand. So after I placed my order through the possibly sentient computer system, I went to pay with cash so that this machine of higher intelligence could not steal my identity . Call me a geezer but I just don't trust like that. I will say that this was on WEDNESDAY at 2 OCLOCK PM so definitely not a "lunch rush" but for some reason the staff was sweating into my food. Seemed like they were understaffed. The girl at the register was patient at first as she explained everything to the old woman (me) who was very confused. However as her stress grew her politeness declined and she grew very impatient. I was ready to be disappointed yet again by my granddaughters lapse in judgement however when I received my food I was pleasantly surprised. The portions were very large and all in all it seems like a good way to eat relatively healthy. However, as I mentioned previously my granddaughter who has very poor judgment (god bless her heart) ordered a VERY spicy meal that she was NOT AWARE would be so spicy. Not the brightest she was in tears vetween each bite. A worker came up and asked her if she was okay I am not kidding. Wow. All in all this place is a decent eatery only losing 2 stars for the atmosphere and the fact that I was straining myself on the toilet for hours the next morning. I called my granddaughter to tell her I love her because I thought I might be dying. God Bless Everyone -Marg :-)

Yelp
Honeygrow is my favorite fast casual spot to eat in Philadelphia! I eat here 1-2 times per week. All their food is REAL and you know that you're getting good, locally sourced ingredients when you eat here. As a health nut by default, I usually go for the Cobb salad and customize it by adding in kale, spinach, and another few add-ins. I eat the stir-fry occasionally as a treat, you can't really go wrong either way. You can customize either however you like. They also started carrying cold-pressed juices! The beet one is delicious :)

Yelp
This was my first time at Honeygrow, and honestly it will not be my last. Custom stir fry......that is potentially the best idea ever. The service was a little slow, and they were out of the meat my dad ordered but the employees were really nice. All in all it was a good first experience.

Yelp
Decent spot for a quick and healthy lunch. You only order through their computers so good luck if you need to actually talk to someone about your order. Clean and welcoming place on Temple's crowded campus.

Yelp
I've been to other honeygrow locations and always enjoyed my food. Just picked up some food from this location, get home and opened it up. There was a tiny worm right there on my cilantro. I called the store and they said they'd give me a refund which I appreciate but now I'm grossed out and still hungry
