Our go to dishes are always Honey Walnut Shrimp, Shredded Pork with Century Egg Porridge (really comforting and great for any time of day!), and their Sweet and Sour Pork. The place is great for families of 5–8, but it’s just as enjoyable if you’re dining solo or with a friend. The ambiance isn’t exactly modern, it’s a little old school, but in a clean, decent, and nostalgic kind of way ☺️

Google
Homey Chinese kitchen that also offers large family platters. Straight-forward service. Reasonable value for the food. The beef broccoli was moist/tender and the mushrooms and sauce were great components in the dish. The carrots and broccoli added a nice texture. The house special fried rice was also popular. Some of the guests added some spicy chili oil to add some heat to the rice. The pork shumai, shrimp ha kao, and baked bbq pork buns are family favorites for takeout / lunch.

Google
It's okay. I was rather unimpressed by the food even though I absolutely loved the party trays from this restaurant. Essentially, if you want food, make sure you are ordering the salt and pepper chicken wings from this restaurant as a party tray. The dishes and dim sum are super underwhelming even though the prices aren't overtly unreasonable. The service was excellent and the area was comfortable though. I did notice they used the microwave and I will say that the food somehow was still a bit cold. I don't really care if the microwave was used but I wish the food was hotter.

Google
Reasonably priced dim sum. I liked the sticky rice leaves and baked creamy egg buns. The orange chicken was good but a little bit too overpowering for my palate. The other buns and dumplings were okay. I would definitely recommend going here but stick with what you know you like.

Google
Delicious hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant. First thing, this establishment is described as a dim sum restaurant. While they do have some dim sum, the selection is a bit limited. Just wanted to note that if you were planning on entertaining a full dim sum experience. Having said that, the Chinese food here is tasty. We had the House Special Chow Mein (crispy) and it was well-made (although, the dish included fish, which we weren't expecting, but the dish was still tasty). The Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings), gyoza, and baked pork buns were enjoyable as well. The restaurant is tucked away in an Asian grocery store, but it is a nice establishment with good Chinese food.

Google
Everything was good and up to par as per usual. However, the " pork chop with onion" can be heavy on the maple/caramelized sugar after tone if you are not expecting it. I would recommend the "pork chop with salt and pepper instead. The deep fried whole fish in sweet and sour sauce is the best in SoCal .

Google
Really nice restaurant in the shoping area near Target. Tons of dishes to choose form and plenty of parking. Get some nice food here for lunch or dinner and then do your grcoery shopping in the vietnamese grocery store that it's conencted to.

Google
Very good food at a great quality:quantity:price point. I rated this 4 stars in the past, but the food and experience I feel has improved what was already very good food, so adding a star. Service was warm, friendly, and attentive. They updated the place a year ago, so it's nicer than it was before--but don't come here for the ambiance (it's in a space adjacent to a supermarket). Recent experience has re-confirmed this to be our preferred cozy, casual, eat-out-with-the-family place to go when we want solid Cantonese fare. They have some dim sum on the menu, which is all good, but it's only for limited options. But what they do, they seem to do well.

Yelp
Don't go on Mother's Day, the line was super long. This is for the to go side. You can dine in or order for take out. We wanted roasted duck, roasted pig, and some dim sum items. After looking at the dim sum items, we decided to only get the meat buns- 3 for $6, not too bad. And the half duck was made fresh. Hella people were ordering it. I was scared it was going to run out. We also did half a pound of roasted pork. They also sell whole roasted pork for those special occasions. Took a bit, but if you're willing to wait, the duck and pork were delicious. I bet it's less busy on a regular day.

Yelp
I've come here for so long and just watch the price go up and up and up, but I think they still have the best duck in San diego. It's a little salty and always juicy, but a lot more expensive than the duck in Orange county. I believe the duck price for whole is about 36.95$ now. I could be wrong. I love their shu mai here. Its very meaty and flavorful. Its about 7$ for 4 and i love their little footballs (hom sui gok). Thats about 6$ for 3. Their pork buns are excellent too. 3 for 6$. On their restaurant side, I think the majority of the food is very delicious. Its a small restaurant but enough for people. I don't think the restaurant is open now but I'm not paying attention. I will probably always come here as I've been coming here almost 15 years.

Yelp
My mom wanted to order my Chinese food for my bf to pick up on the way home, and I really was craving food from my Cantonese homeland so she called to order (they don't take card payment over the phone btw). I order in Cantonese my for simplicity here is what we ordered along with "sup chow" which I think is like the flat rice noodles with beef and gravy. She ordered me fried chicken too but I don't eat that so I can't speak to those. It was late in the day so understandably they were low on dim sum and even said they didn't want to sell some of the items bc they were not their normal high fresh quality but I didn't care. Everything was delicious, the only thing that could make it better was if they had more dim sum options like golden island.

Yelp
Located inside a supermarket but there is an entrance to enter directly from the outside. Since it looked so casual, we thought you order at a counter but we were promptly greeted by a staff member who directed us to a table with menus. Siu Mai ($6.99): Pretty solid, plump, and good meat flavor. Our favorite item we got. Har Gow ($6.99): Not great, pretty small and the shrimp is not as big/fresh like other quality hargows. Cha Siu Bao ($5.99): Good balance of filling and bun, bun was nice, fluffy and sweet. Home Style Fried Rice Noodle: Big portions but pretty expensive ($18). Noodles were good but egg was dry and shrimp not super fresh. Overall, the food is decent but the prices seem pretty high for the average quality and location/ambiance.

Yelp
I really love getting dim sum here. Before covid, I feel that there's more items vs now. The food is still very good. I got the har gao, shumai, sweet rice cake, and Xiao long bao. The Xiao long bao took some time to cook so I just walk around the store and buy some groceries. The service is good and friendly. There's some table and chair. The place is really small. The groceries store is also very small. It's a bit hard to get around with cart. Overall, it's a good place to get your dim sum to go. The place is chill and there's definitely a few chair and table. I just don't do well in a tight space. It makes me feel claustrophobic. Even in the grocery store it's really hard to get around as the place is really small.

Yelp
They do have the best roasted pork in San Diego however I think it's fried so they give you the hoisin sauce. Also, the roasted duck is good if within the Mira Mesa vicinity. But I would rather go to San Wo at ranch 99 in Clairemont Mesa blvd. They were extremely busy for Mother's Day but one has to be vocal. They serve great food regardless. Parking can be crazy and it may seem like chaotic but it is worth it for the price, they aren't too extreme . I believe a roasted duck is no more than $40 and we paid 3 lbs of roasted pork for about $80.

Yelp
Date of Visit: 11.10.2025 Cuisine Type: Chinese Vibe: Old, traditional, family owned Cost: $15-$30 per person depending on what you order What I Ordered & How It Was: Dim Sum - Common dim sum things like shu mai, ha gao, chicken feet, hom sui gok, xlbs... Everything was as expected. Nothing fancy just what you should expect from a good dim sum place. Service & Atmosphere: Service: Friendly, Attentive, Food came out after 5-10 minutes Ambiance: Takes up one side of the vinhung super market but is separated enough to feel like it's own space. It is not necessarily quite depending on when you go. Space is old but no one goes there for the ambiance Overall Thoughts: Best thing I ate: Honestly everything here is good for it's lower price point compared to other dim sum places. Something to improve: Maybe ambiance but that doesn't really matter in this space Would I come back? Yup low key the best bang for buck dim sum in San Diego

Yelp
We had the most delicious meal at Hong Kong BBQ Kitchen. This is the first time we bought live crab at the Asian market that is in the same building as the restaurant and took them to the restaurant where they prepared them for us. You can't get better than fresh crab. We also tried Shrimp Shu Mai, Shrimp dumplings, Kung Pao Shrimp and Shrimp with crispy noodles. What a treat. The restaurant is bare bones in terms of ambiance, but we didn't go there for the atmosphere. The wait staff are helpful.

Yelp
Such a great spot for some Chinese comfort food and dim sum . This spot gives me old Lys Garden vibes in City Heights before they shut down . Definitely one of my go-to's when I need to cure a hangover lol . Here's my food review: Beef chow fun (wet) -- jammed packed with flavor, huge portion, slurpy noodles, would totally come back just for this dish . Bbq pork over rice-- looks pretty, but looks are decieving . Pork was a bit dry, and the rice was old and hard . Pork/ shrimp sui mai-- more pork than shrimp . Mediocre with a porky aroma-- definitely better with chili oil vinegar sauce . Shrimp har gow-- one of my favs . Shrimp filling was plump and rice wrapper was thin and chewy ! So fresh ! Baked bbq pork bun-- I ordered a an extra order to-go because it was that delicious . Inside filling was sweet/savory, and seasoned well-- but could be a bit more plentiful . The bun itself was a dream-- pillowy, soft, fresh baked, fluffy, SOOOO GOOD . Get these ! Mochi pork fried bun-- deep fried beautifully . Outside was light and crisp-- inside meat was succulent and juicy . Get these as well ! Xiao long bao-- mediocre, yet satisfying . Overall, a family fav for home style Chinese bbq. It's one of those places where some days different plates are fresher that others -- they'll keep you on your toes-- just pray lol . Customer service is good. Place gets packed on weekends, so go early . Plenty of parking. Located inside the Vinh Hung supermarket .

Yelp
Located inside/connected to Vinh Hung Supermarket. Indoor seating or takeout. Variety of dim sum offered all day. Siu mai- plump, juicy and flavorful. Roast duck noodle soup- broth lacks flavor although portion was decent and duck was okay. Would not get again Salt pepper fish- a favorite for the whole family. Lightly fried, flavorful and fish was perfectly cooked Honey walnut shrimp - good portion but needed a little more salt for balance with the creaminess Kung Pao chicken- good portion size, chicken was cooked well and flavorful Service was adequate and there were enough food dishes that I would return to try more.

Yelp
We are regulars of HK.BBQ since 2021. Authentic dish. Most of the menu items are our favorites, but because of medical-health conditions we are restricted to small portions. Servers are so kind and understanding to accommodate the situation. We always end up bagging leftovers. Ask them for their COMBO 2-ITEM MEALS. It is affordable and shareable. They also have their off-menu item (SCRAMBLED EGG with TOMATOES). Expect HK.BBQ to be busy - always a full house (yes they are that good). Servers are often smiling, pleasant, and friendly despite the rush. Eventhough full, the ambiance is remarkably "quiet." Customer conversations have very low decibels you could hardly heat it.

Yelp
Hong Kong BBQ Kitchen has authentic Cantonese food. Big portions with good price. Friendly and fast services. The ladies always have a smile on their faces. Delicious food: salt and pepper chicken wings - loved it! Crispy outside, juicy and tender inside, not dried. Orange peeled chicken: not over fried like many restaurants. It has hinted taste of orange. Spring rolls as appetizer: has 8 pieces in an order. Crispy and the temperature is just right when brought out! Tasty. Salted fish and chicken fried rice: an authentic Cantonese fried rice dish. Good portion of salted fish in the fried rice. It satisfied wify's craving. Will definitely return for more.

Yelp
Ordered a bunch of dim sum and food and overall nothing stood out. It was quite disappointing and underwhelming. Wouldn't go again.

Yelp
*Note: review for take out only* I really appreciate the option to order online for pick up here, which makes ordering for take out so quick and easy. I have ordered from Hong Kong BBQ Kitchen plenty of times, and they are always fast when it comes to getting the order ready. The best thing to get here is their chicken wings. They are so flavorful and are not dry at all. Other dishes that we've tried before: -Beef chow fun (dry style) $17.95 - this is a great option when you are craving chinese food -Sweet and sour pork $17.95 - this comes packed separately from the sauce, which is okay, but doesn't taste the best to go. Might be better to eat it in the restaurant Dim sum: -Baked BBQ Pork Bun $5.88 - this is okay, was a bit dry inside -Stewed Chicken feet $6.88 - this was good, but pricy for only 4 pieces -Shrimp dumpling $6.88 - this was good, but the dumplings were very small -Magic rice wrapped aka sticky rice $6.88 - this comes in 2, but the inside was not as flavorful as other places

Yelp
This is a great place located INSIDE Vinh Hung Supermarket. You can order to eat there or take it to go. Newly updated interior. Plenty of seats for indoor seating available. No outdoor. The restaurant is clean, but the surrounding is not. Bathroom is filthy, but they share it with the supermarket and there's only one restroom to use. Chow fun w/beef was amazing. Full of flavor unlike some of their competitors nearby. My daughter buys this all the time....more like has us buying it for her. Salt and pepper wings are tasty. This is our go-to place just for the wings alone. We order the small/large party trays a lot. They have a big selection of party tray sections to choose from any of your catering needs. The staff is super nice. I have eaten there and ordered food to go. I haven't really had an issue thus far. Come to think of it we have never eaten lunch here...just dinner or catering trays to go.

Yelp
This spot was an empty field when we moved to the neighborhood.  Later there was a movie theatre.  Now it's a supermarket and a restaurant.  My mom loved coming here.  Lots of Cantonese dishes and dim sum she could choose from. They redecorated with new booths, chairs, and plastic fish after Golden Chopsticks opened.  Fried chicken wings had crispy skin and the meat was moist.  Flavor was good.  Kind of like at Shanghai Cafe. Bbq pork pan fried noodles had delicious thin egg noodles.  Brown sauce adds a delicious flavor to everything.  Noodles come out crunchy but adding the brown sauce makes them like chow mein noodles.  Char sui is tender and full of tasty 5 spice powder flavor.  Bok choy is fresh and crisp. Peking pork chops have a very sweet flavor.  I prefer the version at Golden Chopsticks though as the pork chops have a crunchy batter and I like the flavor of the sauce better.   Roast duck had crispy skin and good 5 spice powder based flavor.  Similar to roast duck from Sam Woo but more expensive. Sweet rice cake had cake like texture and mild sweet flavor.  One of the best I've had in town. I still eat at Hong Kong Bbq and so does the remaining family.  I miss coming here with my mom though. Happy Mother's Day! So, so you think you can tell Heaven from hell? Blue skies from pain? Can you tell a green field From a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? Yelp
Went for a casual family dinner, it was messy but oh so finger licking good. Dimsum items are just meh but the entres were solid. Braised pork belly melts in the mouth, fried tofu was crispy & piping hot, the chicken & BBQ ducks were good. All the BBQ are freshly roasted daily in house, a rarity in San Diego. We got 2 fish, 1 for steaming & the second made into creamy fish soup, omg it was so freaking delish. I haven't have fresh fish soup in a while. We bought 2 giant crabs in the Vinh Hung market next door and the chef cooked it for us immediately: salt & pepper style. We even brought our own bottle of wine & they didnt charge us corkage fee. Full disclosure my relatives are regulars here & may have received preferential service. Fried rice, veggie & crabs all were excellent with good wok hei. See video below for visuals https://youtu.be/ooHlLE39b8U

Yelp
A stable for the local authentic Chinese food, the two other ones near by is either too pricey or the food is just terrible. The price of the dishes has gone up since the pandemic but the portion of the food is pretty good and it is reasonable.
google avatar

Jeff F.

Yelp
Get the bbq pork baked buns! The dough is pillow-like soft, while the chunks of bbq are piquant... 9/10 rating. Everything else at the take-out counter is decent. Their sevice has been standard. One of these days, I will dine in to sample their made-to-order dishes.
google avatar

Yelp
Local dim sum spot located inside Vinh Hung Supermarket that offers average tasting dim sum. I ordered a variety of things to try and the total came out to around $35, enough for 2 small eaters. We got steamed bbq pork buns, pork and shrimp shu mai, xiao long bao, and 1/2 lb. pork char siu. The quality of the ingredients could be better as some the meats were a bit tough or needed more flavor. The xiao long bao's pork was a little chewy and it didn't have a lot of soup. But they were served hot and hit the spot until your next Din Tai Fung adventure. Staff were quick and friendly, but not overly so. Note: -everything costs extra, even hot oil and white rice. -$10 minimum for all credit card transactions. -tables and chairs looked a little grimy, takeout seems to be the better option.
google avatar

Audrey C.

Yelp
This is a decent spot in Mira Mesa for Cantonese food. They are located inside the Vinh Hung supermarket and have a few tables for eating there. I usually come here to order takeout vs getting dim sum as their menu is limited for dim sum. Their dishes are really good/authentic. My favorite is the beef chow fun. Other dishes are the sweet & sour pork as well as the salted fish fries rice.
google avatar

Amy K.

Yelp
Still on my journey to find a good Hong Kong wonton noodle soup. Tried this one. It is better than LHK noodle bar but not as good as Sam woo in Alhambra on 6th and valley. I would come again. The wonton noodle soup cost about $15. The wontons don't have any pork, it's all shrimp. The wontons tasted nice and springy, the noodles were just ok and the soup base could be better.

Yelp
Good authentic food for decent price. Lines can get long sometimes. Dim sum here is also good. Located inside the vinh hung supermarket.

Yelp
I love this place. The food is really good and the service is fast. I try to stop here whenever we are going to Padres games or coming back from San Diego. I like to order their chicken feet and a duck.

Monica C.

Yelp
Last year I came by on thanksgiving and saw all the turkeys that people ordered. I'm glad I ordered one this year for thanksgiving! The Turkey (14-16 lb; $76.95 in 2024) is done roast duck style- the white meat was incredibly tender. Get it with a tray of sausage sticky rice. Delicious!
google avatar

Katelyn P.

Yelp
I've come here since I was a kid and the quality has never died down. My go to is their House Special Chow Mein (Pan Fried Noodles)! The restaurant's location is inside a supermarket. Service is fair with no problems. There are many items on the menu to choose from! And just a great go to for authentic Chinese food!
google avatar

Sylvia H.

Yelp
I like HK BBQ - one of the few places with cantonese chinese food. They're great for takeout and package everything pretty well. I haven't eaten at the restaurant since probably 2016. They used to have a great lunch special, I'm not sure if they still do though. Some of my go to dishes: -Tofu in Brown Sauce -Crispy Chow Mein with Chicken -Dry Beef Chow Fun -Preserved vegetables with pork crispy chow mein -BBQ Pork Rice (comes with gai lan) -Black Bean Fish Fillet -Shrimp with Stir Fried Egg -Deep Fried Crispy Pork Chop -Any of the fried rice You can't go wrong with those! They also have dim sum but it tends to run out in the evenings. Definitely way more affordable than Golden Island nearby. The location is a bit off - located in a what used to be an old movie theatre which is now part grocery store and part restaurant. Head over to Vinh Hung to browse around while you wait for your food. They have online ordering which is a huge plus!
google avatar

Jimmy N.

Yelp
This place is a bit of a hole in the wall, so don't expect anything fancy, but the food here is delicious, I come here all the time. Best place to get authentic cantonese food in Mira Mesa.

Sarah S.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem... don't expect fancy, but expect solid dim sum favorites, roast pork, duck, and all easy to take back to the office or home for dinner... just hypothetically speaking... ! I will eat in soon, and update the review!

Yelp
I've been going to this restaurant since high school. The one inside the Vinh Hung Supermarket. My family comes often for family dinners. My favorite dishes here are the walnut shrimp, Peking duck, preserved and salted egg pea sprouts, and sweet & sour fish. I do not recommend the half duck, it's always so fatty with such little meat, I would go to eastern dynasty if I wanted good duck. We've also had catering from here and it was just ok. The prices are decent. The dim sum is decent as well. Probably my favorite place for chicken feet. We literally always get the chicken feet here and they serve their dim sum all day so they never run out. Falls off the little bones!
google avatar

Shaira A.

Yelp
if you're looking for a decent chinese restaurant to eat, i'd recommend this place. It's noticing fancy. there's a little market inside where you can buy your grocery needs. Food wise, i'd rate it to 3.5. My and i ordered the chicken lo mein, crispy chicken wings, chinese sausage fried rice, and half roasted duck. The lo mein itself was good, the chicken in it was ok, lack of taste :( chicken wings: it was nice golden brown, very crispy and tasty on the outside.. meat itself, lack of flavor Chinese Fried Rice: it was good, very flavorful! Roasted Duck: meat is very soft and tender, very tasty.. although i wish the skin was a bit crispy. The lady that served us was very patient and sweet! overall, 7/10 WOULD GO HERE AGAIN :)

Yelp
This is my favorite Cantonese restaurant, perhaps my favorite restaurant in San Diego. My definition of comfort food. Always authentic and tasty!
google avatar

Marlina L.

Yelp
Great Cantonese bbq. Authentic dishes served with friendly smiles. The place itself is a bit weird as it occupied a corner of a Vietnamese supermarket. Yet it is clean and the ambience is inviting.

Yelp
Gave 2 stars bc of convenience! Rice doesn't coke with the orders! $6 for the large and its in a small container! The food is ok! If it weren't for my parents I would Not come here!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! One of the only places I could find that sells those Chinese white rice cakes. The ham sui gok is so fresh and crispy and meat inside is one of the best I've had! As a mini celebration, I purchased half a duck and half a roast pork and the presentation/packaging was beautiful! Normally these places just toss the whole thing in the box, but I appreciate the time they take to make it nice and presentable. The skin of the roast pork crispy and fresh! The sauce for the duck was amazing and the meat/fat ratio was perfect! This is definitely the place to go for some authentic Chinese BBQ!

Yelp
Stopped by after seeing it had a higher rating than the neighboring golden island in Mira Mesa. Unfortunately, I was let down by the food. Service was ok, but the food wasn't that great. The duck over rice was probably the better part of the meal, but not by much. The skin of the duck was a little rubbery than what I am used to other duck being, but overall the meat was good. The shrimp shumai was average but enough to fill my craving. The biggest let down of the meal was probably the Xiaolongbao. It came a a little later in the meal, which was fine, but for soup dumplings, I didn't really taste soup. When i bit in, it was pretty much just boiled water than a soup I've had from other places. The meat inside was bland and not what I hoped for.
google avatar

Arnel D.

Yelp
No need for fine dining... This place serves up excellent food! No reservation required lol. Just pull up, park and walk in and point to what you feel like eating. Be it pork bun, free range chicken, shrimp or pork dim sum, they've got it all and at reasonable prices. Service is fast and friendly. I like being able to just drop in and out without a wait. I'll be back for sure when passing by the Mecca also known as Mira Mesa.

Yelp
Most of the other reviews are pretty much spot on. It is adequate, not life changing, maybe a 3 1/2 stars. The sel Mei and har gow are very good. The won ton are MUCH larger than anywhere else and you get 9 in a serving of soup, but sparce on the veggies. The Chinese sausage fried rice lacked flavor except for the sausage, which was excellent. A reliable choice.
google avatar

Calvin N.

Yelp
Located inside a supermarket in a dingy setting, places like this usually make it up with insane quality of food. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Two classics, crispy tofu and century egg porridge had absolutely no taste or semblance of taste. No salt or white pepper at all.
google avatar

Yueming Q.

Yelp
Very nice food court in a supermarket. I saw this place many times and finally got a chance to try it out. I ordered the sticky rice with chicken which is wrapped by lotus leaves, the shrimp dumplings and half roasted duck. They are all pretty delicious, especially the duck! My husband and I literally cleaned the whole meal. Of course this food court place is pretty cheap. I'll say comparing to the food quality, they are very worthy.
google avatar

Elijah C.

Yelp
I'm not sure why some reviewers have been so hard on this place. It's not a perfect restaurant but it's definitely delicious, satisfying, and authentic. Will be back for sesame red bean balls, sweet rice cakes, and roast duck. A solidly 4 star experience!

Yelp
I wanted to try a new dim sum place and found this restaurant on yelp. I didn't realized until I got here, but their dim sum selection is very limited! They have a menu book of items to order, but only one page for the dim sum. This is bad because you may not find your favorite dim sum dish here. However, it is good if you get indecisive with all the dim sum options. I got here Sunday morning at ~9am so there was no wait at all. Note, I came right when they opened so the quality and taste of the food may be better than if they had been sitting around all morning. Things I tried are: Hom Sui Gok - it's like a fried mochi ball with a savory meat filling. I liked how nice and hot this was when it got to our table. The fried exterior was also still crunchy and not overly oily. This was one of my favorites Steam BBQ Pork Buns - there seemed to be a higher bun to filling ratio. I'd probably skip this just cause I am picky about my bread to filling ratio. Pork and Shrimp Shiu Mai - I'd recommend getting this one (or maybe two!). This disg came out nice and steamy to our table. The flavors were also spot on. Shrimp dumpling - This is one of my go-to's when I go to get dim sum with my family so I've eaten quite a few of these. These were probably one of the least flavorful ones I've had. There was shrimp in it but I don't think they have as much seasoning as other places. I'd skip this next time Magic Rice Wrapped - I'm not sure who named this but this is basically a savory lotus wrapper sticky rice dish. I'd skip this next time as well because there just didn't seem like much of the meat filling. I also enjoyed it better with some of the chili oil. Overall, I still stick by my belief that the dim sum in San Diego is just okay. I liked how the dim sum came out hot to our table. But again, I'm not sure if this just based on the time we arrived. Dim sum dishes I'd recommend trying are the Hom Sui Gok and the shiu mai.

Yelp
This small indoor restaurant is located in the Vinh Hung supermarket plaza. The place offers Chinese style lunch specials and has a small dim sum menu. Popular dim sum dishes like Pork Shu mai and soup dumplings are available. Soup dumplings take extra time to cook so be ready to wait a bit if you order soup dumplings. The soup dumplings were cooked well and juicy. They come in small tin foil pans which I guess keeps the juice from leaking. The soup dumplings were fairly tasty and enjoyable but the rest of the dim sum was just ok at best. Other dim sum places are much better. Service was kind of slow and waitress was concerned over sweeping rather than serving or checking on guests. Guests had to come up to the counter to get a check. I hear the Chinese dishes are very good and will try them next time. I always give a place two chances to get a good feel for their restaurant.

Yelp
Excellent chow mein and rice dish. I came down from Northen California and their dishes here are better than up north.
