"Once home to the Crown & Anchor pub, Hong Kong City occupies a large corner site towards the Peckham end of New Cross Road. With a huge open-plan dining room, the restaurant offers an all you can eat menu, with food cooked fresh and brought to the table, but although fine, it should be swerved in favour of the lengthy a la carte menu filled with genuinely exciting dishes. In addition to takeaway staples such as sweet and sour pork, lemon chicken, special fried rice, et al. expect the likes of braised abalone with sea cucumber; soft pork knuckle contrasted by the crunch of jelly fish slivers; a pearl of steamed king scallop with XO sauce; fried eels with a sticky honey sauce; gelatinous hotpot with braised fish lips and duck’s feet; and, best of all, salt and pepper pigs’ intestines. I stumbled on this place last week when in the area and HAD to return again today for the Dim Sum.. Hong Kong City has a FULL dim sum menu that even puts some of China towns dim sum restaurants to shame. Very well priced, freshly made and delicious.... I'll be back at the same time next Thursday... 😋😋

Go during Mon - Sat for dim sum. Lots off families go on Sunday. Food was decent, not high end but reasonably delicious. The fried food was not too heavy - especially the squid. Recommend to get the dough Cheung fun and try the Thai style chicken feet! Expect to pay around £30-£35 per person.

This place was awesome. Car park was available, table was available, service was quick.Toilets were clean. Food came after 10mins which was quick. The Dim sum were delicious and the custard dumpling was the best.

Nothing wrong with flavour- food was just stone cold, was still cold when I asked for a fresh “hotter” one. Heat wasn’t evenly distributed because it was clearly just re-heated in a microwave. Hope I don’t get food poisoned…

Eaten here on numerous occasions and ordered takeaway a few times and it’s up there with the best Chinese I’ve ever had. My partner, family and friends all agree. The food is fresh and so tasty, there’s a huge variety to choose from and the all you can eat price is very reasonable for what you get. The only downside is that the service can be a slow some times but the food makes up for it.

Been coming here for over 6 years now... Not sure why the negative reviews... Affordable and kinda retro dim sum place, in fact the only dim sum place in the area. Always dependable :) prices have gone up since the pandemic but still better than Chinatown ones. Don't expect fine and delicate dimsum, but a homemade vibe that may not always be perfect. Cooked dishes are great too, no complaints.
