Where To Celebrate Eid In London Now That You Can Finally Eat Before 6pm
"Not only does this cosy spot on Upper Street serve halal roast duck, whole soy chicken, and fried shredded crispy beef, it doesn’t serve any pork. That’s right, no playing dish detective, or keeping a menu to hand in case you need to double check if there’s a surprise meat. At Hong Kong Restaurant you can order with confidence. It also helps that the dim sum is good, and the dan dan noodles come in an earthy peanut sauce that we’d happily lick from the bowl." - rianne shlebak
"Few modern restaurants understand the profound power of combining excellent food with a healing soundtrack of pan flutes. Hong Kong Restaurant is one of them. A haven of dim sum and juicy whole roast duck on Upper Street, this place is the closest you’ll ever get to being able to eat hypnotically chewy beef ho fun and glistening siu mai at a spa. The walls are a crisp white, the service is dutifully relaxed, and in a win for night owls everywhere, almost all of the expert dim sum is served until 9pm. Don’t be deceived by the laid-back approach though, this place is home to some of the best cheung fun in London. But if you want to get involved in gloriously slippery king prawn rice noodle rolls, you’ll need to head here before 5pm when the designated cheung fun specialist clocks off." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
"Halal status: Chicken, beef, and duck
Meals at Cantonese restaurants in London usually involve a strong focus on seafood dishes, a lot of “does this have pork in it?”, and very rarely some halal duck. But not only does this cosy spot on Upper Street serve halal roast duck, whole soy chicken, and fried shredded crispy beef, it doesn’t serve any pork. At Hong Kong Restaurant you can order with confidence. It also helps that the dim sum is some of the best in London." - rianne shlebak
"All day
Not enough restaurants understand the profound power of combining excellent food with a healing soundtrack of pan flutes. Hong Kong Restaurant is one of them. Don’t be deceived by the laid-back atmosphere of this Cantonese spot on Upper Street. They’re serious about their dim sum, serving glistening siu mai, pillowy chicken and shiitake mushroom buns, and some of the best cheung fun in London. It’s also a win for night owls everywhere, as almost all of the expert dim sum is served until 9pm. " - jake missing, heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak

Food was not good tbf I had beef and mushrooms I could not chew 1 piece of beef had to spit them all out hardly any sauce or taste to sauce that was there, chicken balls were more like chicken strips over cooked and more batter than chicken ,
beef curry was ok ish and Singapore chowmein was probably the only thing any good so to me 30 quid down the drain as I threw most of it in the bin, I hope the bin enjoyed it !!!!

Lots of food, but the quality was not good. The ribs were burnt, dry overcooked, the bread crumbed chicken wings just tasted of salt. The bean sprouts were soggy and watery. Would I order from here again? NO.

Placed an order and was told it would be 45 mins to 1 hr. Due to current climate, I figured it would be about an hour. After an hour and a half I called to see where the order was and was told it was on the way. I gave them the benefit of the doubt as I figured it would be busy as it’s a Saturday night.
After waiting for two hours I called to find out where my order was. Again, I was told it was on the way. I cancelled the order as I didn’t appreciate being lied to.
