Old‑school Chinese‑American with a lounge vibe and a following for Hong Kong noodles, potstickers, and sizzling rice soup. Recent listings note a full bar and evening hours that work for downtown nights out.

I ordered the shrimp chow fun food came out quick and hot! On point for sure really good service the lady in there was really nice. Stop by for lunch with my co worker. Kinda disappointed that they didn’t have duck like it said online but all in all still good.

Google
I enjoyed the location, food service and atmosphere.... Although, when I was there there were few children there... Only say this from a Pinay friend who told me this concerning Asian food; I had heard similar comments concerning Mexican restaurants from Hispanic people I was around at the time. But then went anyway and ENJOYED it.... So learned it my just be a personal preference that was reflected in their comments -- go for your self taste and see.... Thought it was nice; only negative was the patron at the bar were perhaps a lil' exuberant. Yet shouldn't they be... Lastly, it's a very accessible location with nice, INDEED off street parking... It was quite nice

Was referred to this place by a friend who personally knew the previous owner. He retired and must have taken his recipe books and attention to detail with him. Was sat down at a dirty table the one next to it was also dirty. We should have left then because the only thing that was decent was the egg drop soup. Living in the San Francisco area, I might have higher standards for Chinese food than most but I'm still pretty sure that it would have been less than adequate even if I didn't have so many delicious options near my home.

Google
So far soup is great, the server could have been a bit nicer but she is an older lady and perhaps was just a bit tired. The hot chicken was great no sauce needed for seasoning or a hint of spice but salty.. My noodles were burnt but the other dish noodles weren’t, not sure if maybe I was unlucky or too complicated to deal with. Made a request for steamed rice instead of pork fried rice is all. One eggroll was super yummy for my tummy ! A bit oily but it’s expected for something as delicate as a egg roll. The fried shrimp also super oily. If you’re curious about what I ordered it’s the number one on their menu. The fried wonton were the first items I ate off my plate lol super delish. Flipped over a rupturing egg roll only to discover it was super burnt at the bottom…. The others super salty not sure what happened that one was good light salt a bit oily but still good ….. Very disappointing ….the restrooms were terrifying for me long long walk in a dim light hallway I basically sped walked through it ….. (doors super squeaky ) I was spooked lol

We have always enjoyed Lum Lums for years!! We have been coming here when our boys were in high chairs and they are in their mid 20's and early 30's now. We have NEVER had food poisoning or any problems. We usually eat in the dining room next to the bar. It is so nice and peaceful and the server is always professional and sweet. Their food is fresh and flavorful and plentiful. We love the Honey Walnut Shrimp and Sizzling Rice Soup but we have NEVER had anything here that was not delicious. Go there and enjoy this wonderful restaurant that is a staple in Visalia!

Google
Best Chinese food in Visalia. Get the Hong Kong Special noodles. Or the Hong Kong Special noodle soup, you won’t regret it

Google
Food is decent, good serving size but pretty expensive for Chinese food compared to other local restaurants.

Google
The food is good, especially under the influence! The waitresses/bartenders are super kind and the drinks are average price!

Yelp
The food was amazing!!! Their House rice was delicious, I had a takeout order and I drove to Visalia from Tulare and it was ready when I got there. My husband said I think we found a new favorite Chinese food restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Delivered a huge greasy bag of appetizers. I asked for extra sweet and sour. Got one half container. And two soy sauce packets for the whole thing. No mustard. No chili oil. Delivered food with sauce on it so it's gloppy. Serve the sauce on the side. Sweet and sour pork was dry and wilted.

Yelp
Came in about 1145am for lunch, and of course I'm super excited because I always get great service and food, but unfortunately this time the food was really lacking. I ordered the biggest plate so I can take leftovers, I didn't even want the leftovers! My food was luke warm, the soup had hardly anything it, mostly water. Our food came out way too fast to be fresh!! I'm really disappointed! Don't think I'll be back for awhile

Yelp
First time here, not a huge fan of Chinese food however this place is definitely a go. Service is excellent, good got here fast, waitress was on top of our drinks. Place is quiet. I would definitely recommend and come back again in the future

Yelp
The service was fast and the lady was nice. Food was amazing, hot and fresh! She refilled my water several times (I was thirsty lol) and the hot tea was delicious. The Shanghai special is so good! Portions are huge so well worth the money. The only thing I've always found odd is how quiet it is in the dining area. No music at all so it's just complete silence unless you're talking, and even then it feels like you need to keep your voices down as if you're in a library. I'm sure once it's busier it doesn't feel so silent, our party was the only ones there for the first half of our meal. Definitely try this place!

Yelp
Come on, Kong Kong Lum Lums, what a major disappointment. The Hong Kong Special Fried Rice and Chow Mein had nothing special about them at all. They lacked flavor. They both only had two shrimp. The chow Mein only had one piece of chicken. The rice had many pieces of chicken buried I thought perhaps the same for the chow Mein. Nope, two shrimp, one chicken and six pieces of pork. The Egg Foo Yung was sopped in a good amount of gravy but even that couldn't cover up the burnt taste. I tried eating one and had to throw it out. Charred burnt flavor was all you got. Both dishes lacked flavor and were not pleasing to eat at all. Sooooooo disappointed in this Visalia establishment.

Comfort S.

Yelp
Picked up food last Friday, it was the worst food I have ever had...looked like spaghetti boiled and tried to pass for panfried noodles... We use to go all the time but never again, we threw out $70.00 worth of horrible food.

Yelp
I have been to this place since I have been a teenager. They have good food but the place is really run down, I never noticed it til I got older lol. But I do always com here when I can or in the mood for Chinese food. The service is always great everyone is so nice and friendly.

Yelp
Good spot for lunch. Service was prompt, quantity was decent and food was good. I forgot to ask of they had msg.
google avatar

Jeff B.

Yelp
Good delivery options. Food is ok. Get your Chinese food on! Quick and reasonable food.

Yelp
I travel to Viselia a couple times a month. I am always in search of a lunch spot. This place is located in Chinatown. I didn't know they had one. It a pretty old school restaurant trying to keep up with the time. Exposed bricks and beams are great, but they put old mismatching art work back on the wall. The table and chairs are little dated. The workers all spoke Cantonese, gives me a ma and pa restaurant vibe. Onto the food! The free egg drop soup was shockingly good. It is mild, sweet, smooth, I devoured it down. I broke my own rules and ordered a mandarin dish in a Cantonese restaurant. The reason being I don't see any authentic Hongkong classics on the lunch special. I ordered the twice cooked pork. It's labeled spicy but there is not much heat to it. It could be spicy to the Cantonese palate. The dish was salty, smoky, and delicious. Only criticism is they should go with a more marbled cut of pork, and throw some whole peppers in there. A pleasant surprise for me. I will eat here again!

Yelp
Went to the bar side me & the wife. Art the bartender (I hope I have his name right) is a genius‼ Right when we walked in he already beat us to our table . Went there to try out the voodoo drink......Shit is so good‼ blew my mind‼ ate some food with our drink (that was a great idea bc that drink is heavy). The whole time he waited on us as if we were kings & queens. Long story short, if you wanna have a great time with beyond excellent service go visit lum lums with one of the best bartenders in the world "Art". Thank you art‼ Gonna tell all my ppl in Poros

Samantha M.

Yelp
Some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Cold, greasy, flavorless and definitely reheated previously cooked food. I know this place is notorious for their drinks, maybe that's why they're still here.
google avatar

Sean J.

Yelp
Food was old and no fresh at all. The meat was hard and dry. The rice was just ok. You can tell the food was cooked a day or two ago. Even the chicken tasted reheated.

Yelp
I got home after working all day and I was starving, went all day without eating, so I ordered thru door dash, I got 2 of the no.6 dinners costing around $30.00, it wasn't even edible my fork couldn't even penatrate the sweet & sour pork, it was hot I'll give them that 1 star for that. The pork was over cooked or sat around all day waiting for some sap like me to order this plate of crap, the breading on the pork was too hard as well as the pork. I've had beef jerky softer than this crap. The noodles were in hard clumps, the rice had no flavor with burnt pork in it. I rate a BIG FAT 0 this was the worst I will NEVER order from Hong Kong again!!!!!! Very disappointed, not just because food sucked but spent all the money I had on this dinner that we can't eat and now have to go another day without eating!! Oh yeah is it policy not to tape up boxes and bags to ensure no tampering and safety thru Door Dash? Because it was not taped up (bag nor boxes) no reciept with my name on it or anything not even plastic fork or napkins! I work in a restaurant and we fort knox that shit to ensure no tampering for our patrons safety people it's common sense! So Hong Kong you get a loud bang on the GONG (show) THANKS FOR NOTHING!

Yelp
I always get take out from Lum Lum's and I went in today without ordering ahead so I had to wait. I always forget how beautiful this place is inside! They have gorgeous art and it's so low key. Need to remember to come here with friends. Food highlights for me are beef chow mein, the cashew chicken, and all their vegetable dishes. Very flavorful.
google avatar

Natalie R.

Yelp
It was quickly made and delivered. I gave 3 stars because a couple of the items seemed a bit off. The chow mein was delicious, especially the spicy one. The rice lacked a bit of flavor. The orange chicken was flavorful. The sweet and sour pork wasn't the best I've had and the beef and broccoli was good but a bit 'mushy'. I know it is all over the place but the food was definitely inconsistent but it wasn't terrible. I would like to give it another try and then update review afterwards. I know covid has set a lot of businesses back so definitely worth another try.
google avatar

Stephanie B.

Yelp
So disappointed this my Chow main was so greasy my egg roll was almost to the point t of burnt. Having this door dashed was a mistake. Now I remember why I stopped eating here. But if you want good alcoholic drinks there good here.
google avatar

Maria B.

Yelp
Food is amazing . I love the variation of noodles !!! and staff is always welcoming no matter how complicated our large family dine in orders are.
google avatar

Samantha J.

Yelp
Twice cooked pork is so flavorful and delicious! Have picked up lunch on a weekday and dined in on the weekend, always Great customer service!
google avatar

Rebecca C.

Yelp
I usually don't like to say negative things but this place was not good at all. Panda Express would be like a 5 star place compared to this one. Pork fried rice was bland, shrimp chow mien was weird to say the least, I will say the shrimp in it was the best of the whole meal but the noodles were like eating thin rubber bands. The orange chicken had this soft bread just felt mushy. The last thing the pot stickers were similar to the orange chicken texture. Chili sauce was good.
google avatar

Schylor R.

Yelp
Ordered through door dash and they didn't put one of our items in the bag. When I called, the girl knew exactly what I was talking about right away, yet didn't seem to care that she forgot. The food that we did get, was very bland, with no garnishes what so ever. Didn't even seem seasoned. Will never order from here again.
google avatar

Kimberli H.

Yelp
What a waste of money. Ordered the Mongolian beef, for $15 I assumed it came with rice and noodles but nope. Just the beef. Requested "less vegetables" and got 90% vegetables. The beef was chewy and pretty gross so I guess it wasn't a loss with not having much. The "crispy noodles" are not noodles but more like dehydrated sticks of some sort. Definitely not work 8.50. And the shrimp chow mein and cream cheese wontons were okay so that's why they get the extra star. Never eating here again.
google avatar

Alika P.

Yelp
Definitely stop by here for their mixed drinks! Great chill vibe. John is the best. Even if you to to the sushi place or brewery you're gonna wanna stop by here for a cocktail. Love the authentic good peeps here!!!
google avatar

Kelly W.

Yelp
My husband loves the chow main, I wasn't a fan of the chow fun, too greasy but great flavor
google avatar

Nathan P.

Yelp
Friendly bartenders and they pour a strong jack and coke. The place is a dive attached to a Chinese restaurant. The locals talk of an underground tunnel system that connects various places in downtown visalia. This place apparently has a subterranean opium den that has been converted to a liquor storage locker. I'm not so sure. I wasn't allowed down there to investigate so I am taking away one star. I said I needed to investigate the "paranormal" and I was prevented from doing so. Who knows if these stories are true, I don't know.. But I do know that they must be hiding something.. It could be anything. They absolutely won't allow anyone down there and I think that is suspicious. I am guessing there is a whole underground network hidden under the shady underbelly of downtown Visalia. I expect this to be exposed in some sort of expose or documentary.. What. Is. Down. There... What. Is. The. Truth.. We.... May.. Never... KNOW
google avatar

Jennie M.

Yelp
Let me be clear. I love the food. I love the bar. But seriously... take a weekend to clean this place. The bar area smells like aged musty vomit. The bathrooms are literally destroyed. Take out the carpets if you have to. It's so bad. So so bad.
google avatar

Andrew N.

Yelp
Ordered the Shanghai special, nothing that was amazing but the chow mein was like Filipino pancit which was so good! Would definitely recommend the Shanghai special if someone were to go!
google avatar

Jason And Lili J.

Yelp
I can't believe we haven't gave this place a review on here yet! My partner and I have been coming here together for quite some time now. For dine in they're amazing at what they do! Both in the kitchen and in the customer service dpt. Very patient servers with great food. Best dish has to be the FireCracker Shrimp! It's a must if you come here. Also any Shanghai meat combo will go great with it. I hope everyone enjoys this delicious place as much as we all have. PS Rangoons are also a must.
google avatar

Joann C.

Yelp
I love this place. I haven't been here in maybe 15 years. My Kung Pau Chicken was excellent, spicy, plenty of peanuts, tender chicken. Our waitress was quick, the soup came out right away plus our food came out soon after that. This is a historic business that has been there for many decades. The decor is typical of most Chinese restaurants. Please give this place a visit. It's got all the classics.
google avatar

Stephanie D.

Yelp
Nothing like getting a piece of metal, or whatever this is, in your chow mein. Horrible I couldn't eat at all after the finding. Might as well purchase from Panda

Linda P.

Yelp
we has lunch here today around 12:30 as part of a large group, 20+. my first time since I live in another town. We got drinks, water, tea pretty quickly. order came quickly but we were visiting so not sure how long... Mongolian beef was a little spicy, beef tender, lots of water chestnuts, mushrooms, in a brown sauce with fried rice. I had a light breakfast at 8 am but was plenty full after eating half. took the rest home for hubby. our server was an older woman, very pleasant and quick. She remembered who ordered what. I would come again. We were all happy. Others at my table ordered shrimp chow main, chicken and cashews, broccoli and chicken.
google avatar

Stephania V.

Yelp
I don't know why there's a 4.3 rating on this place. You walk in and get hit with a waft of mildew and must. There is no ambience just silence, glad there was a family there to fill the room with something. The tables aren't cleaned very well. Service was meh it's just an older women doing everything. Now to the food. We got the Shanghai special. The sweet and sour chicken and the pork fried rice was good. 5/10 nothing wow but nothing bad. The majority of the plate is filled with chow mein. I took one bite of it and immediately gagged. It is burn beyond belief. not only mine but my boyfriends as well. Pretty disappointing when the majority of the plate was full of it. The egg roll is just something that they buy frozen and fry themselves nothing too special. Side note for those that don't know. Hong Kong and Lum Lums are two different places.

Marion B.

Yelp
Food was not fresh, and generally liking flavor. Not a good experience for our party of four. I really wanted to give it no stars, but it wouldn't let me post.

Patsy O.

Yelp
In my opinion, this isn't a Chinese restaurant. It's a bar that serves Chinese food. The bar was the main focus of our waitress (she was also the bartender). The music was way too loud (again, because it's a bar)! The patrons of the bar were far too loud. The food was not good. The ambiance was lacking. Definitely not a place that we will revisit.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Not pleased! I used to frequent them after work about twice/month. I ordered the chicken chow mein last night through door dash. Within my QUART of chow mein I found 2 small bits of chicken!! Never again
google avatar

Darryl P.

Yelp
Had the appetizers fire cracker shrimp amazing spring rolls were great doing family style kung pao chicken Mongolian Beef won ton soup great this place was awesome great service
google avatar

Suzanne G.

Yelp
Best Chinese restaurant in Visalia, it very clean and relaxing to have dinner there! Great service and the food is excellent! Never is the food slimmy! AA+

Ren M.

Yelp
The food I ordered was solid. Basic noodles, stir fry and meats. Service was fast. Nothing stood out as an "oh wow" but it's possible I haven't tried the right thing yet. I will revisit soon and try other dishes.

Anisha D.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in Visalia. We ordered Chowmein and Spicy Tofu. Quick service, good quality food and great taste. Best part, they follow order instructions to the letter. 5 stars for the food and 1 star for the ambience. Go there for the food not the ambience.

Cathy T.

Yelp
Did delivery. Sweet Sour pork so tough we could hardly chew it. Pot stickers way over cooked. Chicken chow mein was ok, but not great. Maybe in house would be better, but not going to there.

Brock R.

Yelp
Firecracker Shrimp, Shanghai Special shrimp Chow Main, Pot Stickers My wife and I have been going to lum Lums for 30 years, 20 of those, every Saturday,. Now we have it delivered by grub hub, as often as we want, still once a week, highly recommend m.

Dal J.

Yelp
Food was alright, I probably won't go back. There was plenty of it, but it just wasn't great. Nice atmosphere and wait staff though.

Brian A.

Yelp
good service and the food is okay everything came out really fast and the place is really cool and In a cool area
google avatar

Janet H.

Yelp
Very courteous and efficient. Very great customer service and service. The food was wonderful and at a reasonable price as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and give them five stars out of 5.
google avatar

Kristy K.

Yelp
Anytime we go to or through Visalia we always have to stop and get an order or 3 of Shanghai Chicken. My whole family loves it.
google avatar

Joshua D.

Yelp
Is so nice to have a local Chinese restaurant! They're always so sweet when i stop by to get my wonton soup on the way home from work. Ask to sit in the slum Lums special room and order from the better menu. Consider the firecracker shrimp and the ho g Kong style chow mein.
google avatar

Mina H.

Yelp
I'm pretty sure something in our food was rotten because it had that sour taste. And even if that didn't happen this is probably the worst Asian food I've ever had in my entire life. It says "Hong Kong" in the title and they have a "Hong Kong noodle" but before we ordered it the waitress said "just by the way it's not like how Hong Kong noodle usually is". I assumed it couldn't be that bad but I was wrong. The soup we ordered had super weird tasting beef too
