Tried this place for the first time after arriving in Minneapolis, and the food was so delicious! The crispy duck, pork, and wonton noodles were a perfect combo for dinner. The veggies were fresh and full of flavor, and the chicken eggplant dish was absolutely mouthwatering. From the outside, the place looks a bit small, but don’t be fooled since there are plenty of tables inside, so walk-ins like me and my relatives didn’t have to wait. The staff were super kind and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely planning to come back! 🙌🍜🦆

Google
New location, bigger, brighter, spacious layout with average service. Understandable under staffs during soft opening. Water, tea, Digital and eliminated dimsum menu provided once we seated. But it takes a very long time to flag a staff to place the orders. The orders take even longer to arrive on the table. It wasn’t busy. If you have little ones, you should order once you seated. The wrapper of the shrimp dumplings and chive dumplings were a little too thick. custard pineapple buns with coconut were very dry. Pork dumplings and Mild sweetness egg custard was okay. Tender Pork with salted and pepper and flavorless crispy noodles with chicken and vegetables was average. Extremely bland string bean dish and Shrimps, eggs and chives dish contains mostly chives( the worst I ever had). Overall every single dishes were lack of flavor/lack of seasonings. Hopefully it will improve in the future.

3 stars is being nice more of 2.5 ✨. Putting in consideration that it's a soft open at the new Bloomington location and that we came before the Friday dinner rush. Waited a little bit to get a tablet to see the menu and sat awhile to put in our order... That was just the beginning of it all. It took 35-40 min for food to completely come out. Food was warm/cooler than it should be. It seems like it was sitting in the kitchen for awhile waiting for the waiter to serve it. An extra 40+ minutes literally in waiting for the check to come out and they have the audacity to charge 18% for a family of 3. Trust me we were not the only unhappy ones waiting for the check. Bill came out to be $145. I saw an older couple in their 80's sitting there waiting for the check way before us and the husband had to walk around struggling with his legs to find someone to ring them up. Smh 🤦🏻‍♂️We tried to flag down 3 different staff to get our check. Don't even ask about how long it took us to get togo boxes. After asking 3 staff we still waited for a long time. It got to the point my wife stood up, raised her voice very uncommon for her to do that and waived the guy in front (host/owner) to ring up our check. It was not a good experience! Food was good slightly salty but there was no refills on the water or extra napkins. Very understaffed but don't do that - Service is service and you deserve tip when it's earned. Charge when it's 6+ people or more. Very disappointing! Wait for this place to get their kinks situated before trying it out because it not worth the long wait IF you're a loyal fan of the original location at the UofM. Location is very inconvenient and tucked away between hotels, motels, and business buildings across from Walmart. Somewhat going out of your way to find it.

Google
Strong 4 stars overall. Spicy Squid dish is 5 stars lol! Dine in dinner on a Wednesday night. Current road construction don't make it easy to get to. Hopefully they finish up the construction soon. They give you a tablet at your table to order your food which is nice. One major advice is more pictures. Difficult to visualize a dish when you are just reading the dish names. Very few pictures. Too many similar dish names without pictures. Got the spicy Squid, hot pot tofu/seafood, lo mein, potstickers and k BBQ short ribs. Like I said spicy squid was good! must order. Pot stickers were big. Lo mein is average. K bbq short ribs had good taste but too overdone, tough and hard. Large portion sizes so that justifies the higher prices. Fast service. The food was out quick granted it wasn't too busy at the time. Nice and clean place. I am willing to go back in the future. Dim Sum is Friday, Saturday, Sunday 930am-3pm

Google
the 4 stars were for us writing the review and 4 stars were not for their service n foods sigh, 1st we ordered the golden shrimp, but shrimps quality were not good n not fresh frozen, more like almost spoiled quality sigh. if they use good quality shrimp, then we will recommend this dish, but they try to save money to cook spoiled shrimp to let us eat bad shrimp sigh. 2nd the waiter was really rude n not nice at all, like once we got in, he thinks he is smart enough to know how to use technology n us are not, they are now using ipad instead paper menus to eliminate the human contact service, also the restaurant is really too noisy n cant hear our voice 😑 sigh, we prefer paper menus n human service instead using iPad to order, also they dont have much seafood, only lobster is available, no crabs n no oyster etc...., on the iPad menu doesn't have much pictures n no details about whats in the dishes etc..., so we dont recommend this restaurant at all. also yes they charge 18% service fee for group of 4 or less, we know most of restaurants will charge service fee if over 5 people sigh, oh well, we wont come back this restaurant after this kind service n foods quality n noisy levels inside the restaurant sigh. half of dishes in their ipad are not available lol. 4 dishes like average almost cost $30 each, too expensive. 6/2/25. no one to greet us n you have to find your way in their dining area 😔

Google
6/14/25, they Grand Opening at the new place nearby MOA. We went early to try their dimsum as we already knew how good their HK food taste. The order can be done from a tablet. Selection of their dimsum is pretty good and the price is decent as well. It is not a cart serving dim sum though, they bring your order straight from the kitchen. Overall, I give them a 4 star for the dimsum.

Google
A shadow of its former glory. My dining experience was for a Friday dinner service. While the interior and dining atmosphere is nice, the food quality just isn't up to the previous standard from years past. To make matters worse, the pricing borders on exorbitant, resulting in further disappointment. I do appreciate the modernization thats been adopted. Tablets are now used in lieu of menus, and orders can be sent to the kitchen at any time during your dining experience. Waitstaff can also be requested in this manner, which creates a very streamlined and efficient service experience. Overall, average food for an above average price leaves one wanting for more.

Very Nice place to have Chinese cuisines.. service was very good and ambiance too The cost is moderate but I like the gesture

Yelp
My favorite dim sum place-only available early on weekends but it's my absolute favorite. The dishes range from small to large. Small being less costly and large being more expensive. This is my dim sum fix the ingredients are so tasty and refreshing. They have a about 30 plates worth of dim sum here. My favorite is their congee (they have 3 types), taro cake, lava bun, and the siu mai is crazy juicy good. The service is pretty nice and speedy too. I like the ambience as well. It's very clean but it can get busy ofc cause it's great! :D The waiters are super attentive and great at getting your order. I love the competency and speed in which they fulfill your order by crossing off things. I will say sometimes the water gets missed but it makes sense cause they're super busy. There is this one favorite waiter who kind of recognizes me as I eat there a lot. She's honestly great, and super sweet. Thanks Sister!

Yelp
Great Cantonese options, mix of authentic or Americanized Chinese, they have it all! Haven't tried the place for years as it had become too Americanized for my taste. Glad I did as while the menu remains similar, the preparation of my favorite dishes were on point, busting with flavor, joy and yumminess. There's a parking lot behind but only some if the spots are for HK Noodle. Service was prompt, helpful and friendly. Ambience, well, it's what be would expect in Dinky town dive. Overall, great and adding it back to the rotation.

Yelp
Love love love HKN! I've been here a couple of times now (once for dinner and once for dim sum) and it doesn't disappoint. I admit I don't remember what I got the first time but it was good enough to make me come back. The second time, I forgot they do dim sum on the weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday 9-3 I believe but confirm that with them!) so we were pleasantly surprised by a dim sum menu. We got a variety of things and everything was pretty good. The service was quick and efficient. They were very busy and I can see why. Highly recommend the pan fried gyoza (or dumplings I can't remember what they call them on the menu) and the chicken feet for sure. But everything we got was yummy and enjoyable. This is not a fancy spot as it's very homey, where you'll take your family to for a nice cozy lunch or dinner. I cannot wait to come back! So happy we have a dim sum place nearby

Yelp
My go to place for Chinese food. Been going since college and still very good decades later. Small establishment but they can accommodate large groups with reservation. Recently they added dim sum menu for Fri, Sat, and Sun. Dim sum was pretty good with some misses. They also offer an extensive regular menu. They are known for their golden fried garlic entrees which can you your choice of seafood protein. Parking is limited but they have dedicated parking spaces behind the building and of course metered street parking is available.

Yelp
I walked in from the clinic down the street for lunch to take back. After preordering online, I was able to get it right away. We had the pork vegetable chow fun which was tasty and the salt and pepper squid that was very tasty. We have been here several times in the past and never have had a bad meal.

Yelp
This spot is slowly climbing up my list of favorite Chinese food spots in Minneapolis. I am frequently in the area to see my medical providers. On this particular day, we were in search of some serious comfort food. I don't think we realized just how generous their portions were. Once the dishes started to come out we realized the two of us could not handle this feast that looked like it was better suited for four people. So we asked for to-go boxes half way through our meal in order to pace ourselves and practice portion control. Mongolian Shrimp with Noodles - These were blump large shrimp. The noodles were a little too stringy for me. Fish Filet in Black Bean Sauce - Surprisingly zety and well seasoned. The sauce was a great compliment to the rice. Shrimp fried rice- Large spread with mini shrimp. Mixed Veggies- Fresh and flavorful. Overall, very yummy in my tummy with plenty left overs.

Yelp
Hong Kong Noodle was my first meal in Minneapolis, and I'm so glad we came here. We came for some dim sum, and I also love that they allowed us to order from their other menu as well. Their dim sum menu offerings is smaller than what I'm used to in Chicago, but they do have the typical dishes I'd expect. The food is delicious, and the service is friendly and efficient. All of our dishes came out piping hot and was freshly made to order. We ordered the shrimp dumplings, siu mai, chicken feet, stuffed bean curd skin, and baby bok choy cooked in garlic. The baby bok choy did taste a bit bitter for me, so my partner ended up finishing it and the dish also came with white rice. We devoured everything as we were both hungry after a 6 hour road trip. There's plenty of chairs and tables for dining in, you can also take out, and there's plenty of parking on premise as well. We didn't end up driving, we took the light rail, which is conveniently nearby walking distance. I'd totally come back next time I'm in the university area to try other dishes on their menu, and I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for Cantonese style cuisine.

Yelp
Great restaurant to visit occasionally or often. When I worked at the University of Minnesota I was into Hong Kong Noodle (HKN) almost once a week. Since I returned to Minneapolis in 2016 I've only visited there a couple of times. My recent visit reminded me why I need to go more often. I ordered the Hot & Sour Soup and Crab Rangoon. I always enjoyed the Hot & Sour soup when it was included as part of the lunch special; however I was there too late to enjoy the special. The soup did not disappoint. It has the appropriate amount of sting to the taste buds. I ordered the "small", but because I had the Rangoon the soup was larger portion than I could finish in one sitting. The Rangoon was alright and arrived at the table quickly. The wrappers were delicate and crispy. The Rangoon portion was also substantial and maybe better enjoyed and shared by 2-3 people instead of just 1. I was seated in the glassed alcove area to the side of the main restaurant. I was sitting in the glassed alcove area which provided great AC on an especially hot day. I will definitely consider HKN every time I am on campus in the future. Thanks HKN, you did not disappoint.

Yelp
Tasty affordable food right on campus. We had Noodles and fried rice. Excellent service and the food was fantastic.

Yelp
Came here on mothers day and it was PACKED! But they still squeezed us in and served us very quick. Wouldn't reccommend coming on a holiday unless you're willing to wait. Their dim sum is delicious and satisfied my cravings. I am definitely coming back!

Yelp
Ordered from Hong Kong Noodle the other night with some friends and we enjoyed it! Used to go here a good amount in college so we were excited for a nostalgic night. We ordered shrimp lo mein, string beans, Hong king style bbq pork, and crab rangoons. While the lo mein and string beans were delicious, the crab rangoons were the true standout of the night. I could have eaten them as a meal alone. The Hong Kong style bbq pork was had great flavor, but I was a bit disappointed in the side of noodles I got (good texture, but could have used a bit more sauce to avoid being dry). The string beans we all also all liked a lot.

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp and it was packed on July 4th. Servers spoke Cantonese and saw plenty of Cantonese customers which is a good sign, IMO. Had the simple wonton mi fun and it came in a few minutes. Wontons are made with shrimp and mixed pork but not very chewy. Broth tasted good and hot in temperature! It was a good bowl for my light lunch. There was a small parking lot behind the restaurant. This is near the university campus. I wish they have dim sum on weekdays as I'd definitely would try some! A pretty good find!
google avatar

Yelp
I was craving chow mien and multiple people have recommended this place to me. His place really hit the spot. Serving size is huge and price point is very reasonable. I wish they would have a vegetarian protein option like tofu. Next time I'll try some other things!
google avatar

Yelp
Every now and then my Feminine child requested to get some noodles... Although she loves Ramen, I love a good bowl Chinese noodles! This place usually the top on my list. My favorite is the wonton with slice pork on egg noodles. My child prefers roast duck on egg noodles. Both had a wonderful broth. It is a must on a cold wintery day of Minnesota. Also highly recommended is the fried chicken wings.

Yelp
Was recommended this place by a fellow yelper and we decided to order a few dishes. We ordered the house fried rice, which I was a little underwhelmed with. We also ordered the beef brisket wonton and I think that was my favorite (im also a sucker for dumplings). The brisket did come in a pretty large chunk and it would have been nice to have the pieces a bit smaller. The pan fried dumplings were pretty meh. They didnt have a lot of flavor to them. I had a bit higher hopes for them. We also ordered the singapore style rice noodles which were pretty tasty. They had a nice curry taste to them which I enjoyed. The service was quick which was nice as we were super hungry. They have a lot behind that has spots that you can park in.

Yelp
Picked up Chinese food last night, the one that I usually go to when I'm visiting was closed so we tried this one. Food was OK not my top choice for Chinese in MN. Interesting when we went to pick it up, they said they charge for the chili sauce. We ordered $80 worth of food and they wanted to charge us for these little containers of chili oil. It seemed petty bc if we were sitting in that restaurant they would not charge for chili oil. It didn't sit well with me so I don't think I'll be back.

Yelp
It is a decade or so past time that I post about HKN...a staple for U of M TC students, undergrad, night, continuing ed, graduate, med and law students for decades...literally decades. I have been eating here frequently since graduating from high school in 2004, then throughout college when I was in town, early entry level career...person... then through grad school and now as an adult. This place is just pure good Chinese comfort food. For those who like the American-Chinese take out food (he Chow meiners, lo-meiners, sweet and sour chicken and fried ricers out there...) they have these dishes but executed at a top level with extra flavor and numminess. For those that like more... dare I say... "authentic" food (we are talking hot pots and dim sum) the menu is extensive with these options as well. On the weekends there is dim sum (Fri afternoon through Sunday). Is it the best Chinese food executed ever in MN? No. Is it several million steps better than typical chinese take out and have more options and tasty tasty? YES!
google avatar

Kaverne A J L.

Yelp
Best XO beef chow fun in town! I highly recommend it plus you can choose if you want it spicy, non spicy, mild spicy or extra spicy :). I usually order spicy plus extra chili on the side lol!
google avatar

Kay K.

Yelp
The tried and true greasy Chinese joint now serves dim sum! Not knowing how busy they'd be, we arrived at 11am to an empty restaurant. Things quickly changed within 30 minutes as all tables were filled and so was the normal busy activity that HKN has always been known for. A couple of quick observations -1) there's a $1 cover charge per person 2) dim sum menu leans toward the smaller side, not as ample as its counterparts Yangtze and Mandarin Kitchen 3) we were told by our server that dishes could take longer to cook once the restaurant gets busy 4) service was prompt and friendly Is it good dim sum? It's average. Is it good enough if you need a fix? Yes. Is it expensive? I would estimate $23-25/person if you're moderately hungry. Otherwise expect to pay more.

Yelp
We've been coming here to eat for over a decade. Did a large takeout order for the family for Christmas (yes, they were open today & took the online order last night& reserve a pickup slot). Their Beef w/Black Bean Sauce Chow Fun is my entire family can agree on as being the best! Tried the Seafood Tofu Soup today & it was perfect (not too salty & good flavor). They also offer some great congee (we usually order that). Great service here!

Chandavanh P.

Yelp
Recently they catered to my friends nephews wedding and apparently they dont serve rice beforehand because they said guests will be full before they can enjoy the dishes. I was told the family requested for white rice at least if they cant bring out the fried rice but nope nothing came out so you're supposed to enjoy all the dishes without any rice what a bummer. I dropped a fishy flower into my husbands glass of water so he asked for another glass and the server said we cant bring you another one because we are limited. I dont think they even reached capacity for the number of guest attendance so theres no way you didnt have an extra glass smh...these are small issues i understand i just wanted to give my honest opinion and i would not recommend the food as it was bland and crappy service. Fried rice wasnt blended and seasoned, chow fun was broken but had a decent taste, boiled chicken with little ginger dip on the side maybe enough for a toddler, Lao folks please dont cater with them because i know we need our rice start of the meal. Its the staple. To each their own ‍

Yelp
I've ordered takeout before and been very pleased, however today was a total bust. Ordered 5 items thru Grub Hub. A few minutes before delivery I received a text that I was being refunded for FOUR of the items as they were unavailable. And what I did receive was mushy overcooked beef satay chow fun noodles that were incredibly bland. Total bust. Only giving them a 3-star review as what I've had in the past was good. Not sure if I'll try them again.

Yelp
Sole fish and fried rice for lunch special. There is egg roll on the side as well and sweet/sour sauce. Loved the fried rice chinese style with eggs and soy sauce. The fish was also bery crispy. Though, I think the MSG tastes pretty strong. You also get an egg drop soup and water.
google avatar

Angela M.

Yelp
Went for the recently updated dim sum menu on a Friday. The menu is straightforward and oriented nicely for ordering. Prices are outlined on each item so there's no guessing. There are no pushcarts, instead it's ordered from the menu. Portions are LARGE compared to the other dim sum restaurants around Minneapolis. The assortment is limited but includes the usual ha gow, siu mai, Phoenix claws. The experience satiated my craving for dim sum but the flavors did not meet my standards. Overall a wonderful dim sum brunch on a budget!

Yelp
This place is still freaking amazing after all these years! Their parking lot in the back is a gem in this neighborhood. Furthermore, they added dim sum menu on the weekends and they are so worth the trip. We love their beef chow fun so every chance we are here, we will order that dish or do a take out. We love their congee, both the fish and pork and century eggs. It is always flavorful and the congee rice is cooked to perfection. You really can't go wrong with everything else on the dim sum menu. From the shrimp dumpling (har kow) to their pork dumpling (siu mai), turnip cakes (lobak gou), bean curd rolls, chicken feet (feng zhou) and lots more! Their menu is not as extensive as mandarin kitchen, but it is enough for me for now. I hope they expand them soon to more varieties. Our favorite during our visit was surprisingly their egg yolk steam buns. Those goey sweet and savory goodness was amazing. Be careful not fron burn your lips or tongue when you bite into them because the egg yolk can slowly ooze out like biting into a juicy lucy burger.

Yelp
Good, big portions, great valuu, huge selection. Home style Cantonese chinese food geared to the American palate. Offer dim sum on weekends 9am. However no pushed carts. Consistency and good value
google avatar

Yelp
This place had the best roast duck, pork, and thin noodle wrap with shimp. We are definitely coming back. We finished it off before I could take a picture.
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
The portions were huge, but the food was not good. I ordered the sesame chicken and my husband ordered General Tso's, and both were incredibly dry. Barely edible. We also ordered Chinese broccoli which was amazing. That was the only thing we were able to eat though. For $70, I expected way better quality.

C C.

Yelp
Love this place in the middle of downtown. Great place to stop by before heading to the Vikings game. You can practice your Cantonese with the nice owner who may wait on you. The eating space is a little tight. There's parking in the back. Their signature fried rice is good

Yelp
Hi I'm Mike and I like Asian Food. Hi Mike... Yep, another review of another Asian restaurant. I'm glad my wife doesn't follow Yelp or she'd know that when I'm away, I eat Asian food - a lot. This place had that neighborhood flavor to it. Really full and tasty egg rolls, big and full steamed dumplings; and a Singapore Rice Noodle that had tons of veggies and a combination of shrimp, pork and chicken. Everything was good. I got it delivered (did I tell you I am a troll that locks himself in the room after work - a lot?) and it all came hot and well packaged. Add it to the list!
google avatar

Tatiana D.

Yelp
Oh...my....goodness....! How have I never eaten here?! This was one of the best meals I've eaten in, well.... This is now one of my favorite restaurants- The food was that good. I wanted Chinese to go with my bubble tea. I knew that I wanted sticky rice dumplings, and then randomly picked out Hainanese chicken. The very friendly hostess suggested the combo with rice and vegetables, so I opted for that, and I'm so glad I did: Rice is something that people tend to either give no second thought to as a side/grain, or are really hardcore about. I'm the latter- This rice is magical... I'm currently still prying myself away from it. It's that good, and they give you a lot. I think there's pork belly in here... smoky, eggy, wok hei, umami perfection (compliments to the chef). The chicken sticky rice dumplings were perfect, the crab Rangoon was... there (I had to). The menu is huge, so I'm excited to try something else next time, but this meal was something truly memorable.

Yelp
Fantastic, authentic food with great variety. Loved the sticky rice, snow pea leaves, congee, spare ribs, etc. Fast, friendly service.

Yelp
First of all, my sister and her family LOVE Hong Kong Noodle and they have great Beef Chow Fun and other more traditional Chinese dishes. It is conveniently located at Stadium Village on the campus of the University of Minnesota and there's a parking lot, which is a HUGE bonus for the area. I ordered Yeung Chow fried rice and the Thai spicy chicken wings - the positives for this is it's A LOT of food, however I ordered online which goes through the Yelp app and it's in conjunction with GrubHub - the issue and MAJOR WARNING for people is the prices ordering online is more than just calling or walking into the restaurant. I paid $2 more per dish for the convenience of ordering online. Sure, I understand the service and the app has to take their fee, but it's B.S. and I don't think it's right that consumers are naive and don't realize the prices are different than the regular menu prices. I recall seeing a lawsuit in New York that the delivery apps had different prices for hundreds of restaurants - if you think about it, it's almost bait and switch and quite frankly, some of the mom and pop restaurants are getting screwed. I understand why they offer the online ordering through third parties like GrubHub (Yelp) and others because they can get more orders but again, I warn everyone and anyone who reads my reviews - just pick up the phone and call the restaurant - they have friendly workers who will take your order and the food is good. Granted, I found some really fatty pieces of pork in the fried rice and holy hell, the Thai spicy wings are unbelievably messy and spicy but they're pretty good and again, you get great value and a lot of food. *** Bottom-line, good food, lots of it, but do NOT order online - just call and place your take out order. I HATE apps like GrubHub and others that charge a premium for dishes and don't disclose the information to consumers - should definitely be against the law or disclosed in BOLD print at the top of each online menu.

Nica E.

Yelp
Good Food!! I wish there are more dim sum menu but the beef hot pot is one of the fam favorites

Grace L.

Yelp
You get a lot of food for the price you pay, you get a lot more chicken than rice though. The sesame chicken and the orange chicken were both overcooked as well as the rice.
google avatar

Huy L.

Yelp
9/10 - hands down, one of the best lunch spots in the twin cities. If you're looking for a quick lunch, this is your place. The food will be ready within 10 mins of ordering, and you get so much food! It's enough to feed 2-3 people (or 1 me). Aside from the amount, their lunch special is crazy cheap. You can get all of that and leave a hefty tip for under $10! The lunch is a bit greasy, but it's not Chinese food if it's not greasy, right? The meal comes with an egg roll + a sweet & sour soup (not pictured).

Yelp
Hong Kong Noodles is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in town pre-covid. It looks like there's new ownership since I've last dined here. The portions are generous and flavorful but now the food is too salty for my taste. I wish they'd change out their disposal latex gloves religiously, instead of wearing the same latex gloves to take order, clean table, and serve food. It's unsanitary and disposal latex are suppose to be used once and done.

Yelp
Came from South Dakota to try to see if we could replicate a childhood dish from California. While the replication was not quite right, the 4 hour drive was still worth every bite. Returning to standard fair Chinese food back home is going to be a massive struggle! We will be back!

Yelp
Great place to eat!! Food was done fast and tasted delicious! We ordered and waited about ten minutes and we had tons of food that was hot and flavorful :)

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. Located near the University of Minnesota. They share a small parking lot with other surrounding businesses. Just make sure you park where the have their business name on the signs or there are street metered parking available. We were greeted right away and then seated. We sat in the sunroom which you can view everything happening on outside. The sun beams through and helped warmed up the place and it's a fun view while you munch. They brought us our waters and hot tea. Enjoyed the tea. Ordered the golden fried sole fillets with garlic, fried squid with garlic, seafood lo mein, and chicken and eggplants in garlic sauce. The fried garlic sole fish and squid was hot and crispy. Flavorful. Lo mein was good too. Eggplants with meats and veggies were hot and yummy. Had some leftovers and they were kind to bring us some boxes to go. Service was fast and friendly.

Yelp
Food was bland and they got my order wrong. Try sidewalk kitchen next door for better food.

Yelp
Believe it or not I have been coming to this restaurant on and off for about 13 years. I was very happy when I visited Minnesota and saw that it was still up and running right in the heart of the ever expanding University of Minnesota Campus. With a new stadium, new housing developments and building upgrades all around, it was nice to see this little corner restaurant still up and running and I must say, not a thing has changed. This is authentic. To the point of no animal parts wasted. Fish heads, full prawns and shrimp with the eyes and so much more. I had an noodle and pork based soup that was truly heavenly and kept me full for a good part of the rest of the day. They do not overdo the frying process or fancy up their plates. They serve really good food, plane and simple as only a family can. There are a number of 4 tops, but also a few large round tables to cater to large families. Many come in and order 5 or 6 things and have a family style round robin. Another great sign is the constant patronage and repeat patronage from the Asian community here. That speaks volumes. This is a restaurant that has stood the test of time and continues to today.

Yelp
I'm in a search for the best Chinese lunch special in the city, and next up on my list was Hong Kong Noodle. Located right off the green line, it's in the heart of Stadium Village on the University of Minnesota's campus. I've never personally dined in and have only gotten it to go, but can say that everyone there has always been super duper friendly upon my few visits. I went with the General Tso's lunch special, extremely spicy. I also paid the extra dollar to swap the white rice for lo mein (trust me....best four quarters you'll ever spend). While it's not overwhelmingly HOT, they do give you a nice punch to it along with a simply massive portion. The veggies that are in the lo mein also provide a nice compliment to the chicken. The spring roll and soup were nothing to write home about. If I'm around the U and am looking for Americanized Chinese, Hong Kong Noodle is definitely my go to for the Stadium Village side of campus.

Yelp
Sesame chicken was very dry and hard. No flavor in any of the food we got. Very quick service but not worth the money.

Yelp
i really enjoy eating at hong kong noodle for authentic cantonese chinese dishes. their house chicken is so good! i love their fried rice with clam and sausages, and i'm a sucker for a good walnut shrimp. i love the jumbo size shrimp they use. i took off one star because it's a little pricey.
