Personally, I’m obsessed with Chinese food and this is by far my favorite spot, got me a large with an awesome price to be fair, and with this portion could also be amazing to me personally, but being said the food is good, obsessed with the portion and price, hope yall enjoy as much as I did💕

Andrea Gormerley

Google
By far the WORSTchinese food I ever had I ordered bourbon chicken it was all tenderloins but with cuts and a sauce that was so sour and tasted and smelled like dish soap.. the white rice was edible and the dumplings had a dipping sauce that was beyond sour .. waste of money

Google
I think one of the worst Chinese spots in Bensalem.1. Restaurant force either sweet and sour or egg drop soup for lunch special. 2. You can’t substitute soup, for a can soda. 3. Very small portions. Quality of food is off. I ordered a “large” egg foo young, and small Lo mein. I received one small rice for both entree. The fried rice with chicken wing platter was nasty. Received, plain fried rice, didn’t add any onions nor scallions. Ordered also, chicken with broccoli. The meat was horrible. Out of my entire life, I’ve never had meat extremely thin, slimy and stringy. Horrible experience.

Google
The food is excellent here. I also really enjoyed the bubble tea. The only issue I had was the dining section was blocked off so I could not sit down to enjoy my meal.

Google
Delivery driver was rude hounded me for a dollar grub hub took off of my order. So you better set the expectation that he’s not getting tipped at all after this.

Google
Terrible food. Stopped in for the first time today and the place still looks like the covid days with tables lined up. I leave with my food back to work only to open it and find this dry tasteless sesame chicken and flavorless fried rice. The chicken was very tough, stringy and super dry. Had to throw it away

Google
Simply the best. We get the House Special Lo Mein, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Crab Rangoons, and there is no better anywhere else! Not even close! No one does it like Hong Kong Star Noodle House!!! Thank you for always keeping everything high quality!!!!!!

Google
Service over here was ok. Maybe I went during a super busy time but there was a long wait. Only one person can go in and order at a time. You can’t see anything going on inside since they blocked everything and a lot of times, the staff is not even visible. And you just wait until they appear. I heard the food was really good here but I only ordered their bubble teas this time and it’s just ok. I may have to give it another chance and try out their food too during a less busy time.

Yelp
I ordered chicken and broccoli and it's completely inedible. it smells slightly fishy and the texture feels like chicken skin. I literally couldn't even bite off a piece it was so chewey. The wonton soup had no flavor and the noodle around the wonton was mush. general tsos was okay but I'm nervous now because of how poor quality chicken and broccoli was that the food is either expired or mishandled.

Yelp
I've been looking for a new take out restaurant. The food is yummy. Flavorful. We ordered the general Tso's chicken and chicken in garlic sauce. The chicken in garlic sauce was pretty high on the spice level, but I thought it was delicious. We also ordered the wonton soup. I enjoyed the broth more than the wontons itself. They weren't very flavorful. Overall, good food. Definitely better than most in this area.

Yelp
It's Tuesday. You should be open. Every time I go to order from this place, they are closed. Why? Its Tuesday @ 2:30 in the afternoon. I mean FFS. Get your shit together!!!

Yelp
The food is absolutely fantastic. I stayed at a local motel and called for delivery. The delivery came on time and the food was plentiful and full of flavor. I had the red chicken Thai curry and eggrolls and the eggrolls were filled to the max. I would recommend to the owners to do two things. The first thing is to provide either another container, or a bigger container with the main food so that I could dump the rice in and properly stir it. I had to pour just a little bit of rice and, stir in as best I could and then add more rice as I went. Only when I got halfway was able to properly dump the rest the rice and probably stir. It did not make for a good experience. Or at least provide another container. I do appreciate the rice being served separate, but a lot of us don't have bowls in her motel room in which we can properly store food. The second advice is to not provide a Wimpy, soft, bent fork. Even though I was able to make it through the meal, it was miserable. Thankfully I'm the type of person that only rates on taste and not remove stars for things like this, but it is part of the experience. When you serve meat, you need to provide a stronger fork and a knife. I know it may cost a few pennies more for the restaurant, but I guarantee if I was staying here for a week I would not order from you again unless I went to a fast food or gas station and get some plastic utensils that were proper. Please provide us with decent fork and decent knife when serving anything with meat. Chopsticks would've been a lot better. Imagine a flimsy fork barely able to stay up into the chicken and you can't pile on veggies or rice with it and when you bring it up to your mouth you have to know because the chicken isn't all that tender sometimes, so it ends up being a nine and then you have to spit your food back out. When I come back to this area and call you, I will ask if you have upgraded the utensils and if you haven't been I won't be ordering and it's a shame because your food is very very good. It deserves to be paired up with decent utensils.

Yelp
The food was delicious, but there was very little meat in either dish. I had the pepper steak, which tasted great and very flavorful, but hardly any meat.

Yelp
I didn't expect to find a decent Chinese restaurant in a Street Road strip center in Bensalem, PA, but there it was. Hong Kong Star Noodle House is a traditional looking Asian dining room with mahogany stained furniture and considerable menu primarily of Cantonese cuisine, and a tip of the cap to Szechuan and Thai tastes. But, it calls itself a noodle house and that was what I was there for. I really like chow fun, and they say on their Yelp page that it is done very well in their kitchen. A bowl of Hot & Sour Soup was my introduction on this cool windy afternoon, to be followed by Beef Chow Fun. First positive was the presentation of the soup. Rather than being served in a standard round bowl, it arrived in an oblong dish carried atop a white plate. It made it look voluminous with a rich ochre luster. It was full of mushrooms, strips of soft tofu and sprouts. The flavor was perfectly balanced between the vinegar and sesame oil. The textures mixed well between the crunchy sprouts, medium dense mushrooms and silky tofu. It was delectible. Next came the semi broad noodles and brown sauce of the chow fun. The thin sliced beef was very tender and had been grilled expertly. The noodles, onion and sprouts were in good proportion and the brown sauce both mildly spicy as requested, yet still subtly sweet as per the original recipe. Liked it very much, but it was too much to finish, and I took the rest home for the family. Service was prompt and friendly. My tea mug and water glass were refilled as needed by the woman who appeared to be a manager/owner of the establishment. Hong Kong Star Noodle House impressed me with its close proximation of a old school Chinese restaurant and the quality of its kitchen. It was several rungs above what is normally found outside of Chinatown.

Yelp
We used to love this place it was awesome! Over the last year the quality has really gone down hill. We will not be eating here anymore.

Yelp
Some friends and I split chicken lo mein, beef lo mein, Hong Kong Wonton Soup, Four Season, and egg rolls. Almost everything was good to very good, especially the beef lo mein. The beef in it was so tender and juicy. As for service, the lady on the phone was friendly and pleasant and delivery was on time.

Yelp
Always good food. Only place in Bensalem and far northeast philly that serves authentic Cantonese wonton noodle soup. Been coming back for a few yearsHong Kong Noodle Soup

James F.

Yelp
10 out of 10. Beef lo mein, cheesesteak egg tools and pork steamed dumplings. Unbelievably fast delivery, excellent good. Large portions.

Yelp
I enjoy this place and would come back because the food is authentic and price is good. The premise is clean, spacious and has takeout option. The service is friendly and quick. Consider its location in Bensalem area, this place is a good find. I am only giving it three stars because I still need to come back more often and at different hours in the day. Oh and I recommend the shrimp dumpling soup and lobster in butter sauce.
google avatar

Nilesh T.

Yelp
Very good Chinese food, fast service, and reasonable prices. And probably the only Chinese restaurant that has an expanded menu and dares to offer something spicy to their customers.
google avatar

Humayun C.

Yelp
Really love their Vegetable Lo mein and hot and sour soup. Very Delicious! They have fruit smoothies as well. Always dined in for lunch, never tried the take out.

Yelp
I am giving this place a 3 out of 5, but that is measuring them against NY Chinese restaurants. Yes compared to them they are lacking, but for a Jersey/Pennsylvania Chinese restaurant they are doing a fairly good job. We ordered the appetizer roast pork half, roast duck appetizer for $12.95. Everyone loved the meat from this app, definitely a 5 out 5. In addition, we ordered the Scehzuan dumpling, not a big fan of this tasted more like sweet and sour than a hot spicy dumpling a 2 out of 5. Would not order that dumpling again. We ordered the beef egg noodle dish which was very tasty. The beef came with good sauce, nice vegetables, and crispy noodles. In addition, we ordered the chicken with garlic sauce which was very good. The vegetables were very fresh, which included celery, carrots, and broccoli. The egg roll was just average a 3 out of 5. Overall the service was good, if I lived here, I would order here for convince to get what, I needed. Ultimately, if, I was in NYC, I would not order from here, but for Bensalem, PA this Chinese restaurant hits the spot.

Yelp
Food is good. They're Cantonese owned so the flavors are more authentic. They have more of a variety than your average Chinese American restaurant so you get more of a unique menu. We ended up ordering the dry beef ho fun, eggplant, dumplings and mapo tofu. The ho fun and eggplant were really good. The panfried dumplings were decent and the mapo tofu wasn't so great. I will definitely be ordering from here again and will try other dishes.

Yelp
you know when you're watching tv and people on the show are eating chinese in takeout boxes with chopsticks and you just want what they're having? that's how i felt; i had such a craving for good but bad for you chinese food and this place satisfied my craving. Thai Fried Basil Rice - the large is a good portion for ~3 people to share. good flavors, a little dry but i enjoyed it. beef lo mein - a little bit oilier than i like but it was better than other takeout places spicy pepper shrimp - this was probably my favorite dish. the sauce was so good, rice was perfect to soak up all the sauce. crab rangoon - it was good, nothing to rave about but it did the job

Sarah L.

Yelp
I downloaded this app solely to give this place 5 stars. I would give it 6 stars if I could. Most places would give you 5 pieces of shrimp for a meal, but when I got the larger size of pineapple shrimp fried rice, there was at least 9-12 pieces of shrimp. Would highly recommend this place!

Yelp
I use to order from here after but its been a while. I was craving chicken lettuce wraps. They use to have the best. I don't know what they sent me but it was not that. It was gross. When I called I got attitude from the woman who answered the phone and was told the chicken was cut up. I know what ground chicken looks like. There was no chicken in my dish. It was greasy and not what I ordered. I have made this dish and eaten it many times I am aware what I look and taste like. Gross!!!!

Maria B.

Yelp
$8.5 for a quart of Hong Kong wonton noodle soup. There's like 5 little tiny pork dumplings with no flavor, size of a quarter. And then a serving of noodles. Soup has no flavor. Chili oil is not home made, so it's bland. Soy sauce packets are not strong dark soy sauce either. Overall would not eat here again.

Yelp
HK Star Noodle house offers authentic Cantonese fare, something rare in the suburbs and previously unavailable in Bensalem. Not having visited Ting Wong in Chinatown for a couple months and going through severe Chinese roast meat withdrawal, I called up HK and ordered some roast duck over rice to go. The interior of the restaurant is spotless thus far, and a quick peek into the kitchen revealed everything is, for the most part, clean. Upon opening the takeout container I was pleased to see the duck was a beautiful golden brown with a thin, tasty glaze over top. The meat was very flavorful, tender, and juicy. I was disappointed to find the skin wasn't crispy, but that was probably due to getting soggy in transit and not to improper cooking. The bok choy it was served with was steamed perfectly, and the white rice went well with the excess sauce/duck fat. The portion was on the small side for the $9 I paid, but I wouldn't hesitate to come back here if I need a Cantonese BBQ fix and don't feel like driving out to Chinatown. I look forward to trying more of this place's menu with hopes that it's similarly tasty.

Yelp
1st te was great, second time was subpar to say the least. I guess it depends on the cooks.
google avatar

Jesa S.

Yelp
Hostess did not even say hello just put wrapped utensils down walked away. I ordered egg drop soup it was way too thick for me. I also ordered chicken & black bean sauce it was ok more onions and green peppers then chicken. I would not return to this place.

Joey S.

Yelp
The food was awesome. Dumplings and crab Rangoon were so good. The orange chicken was a little dry but everything was so good. And the short women who took our order was really sweet.

Yelp
This is hands down the best Chinese food in the Bensalem area. I've been trying to find a decent Chinese place here for awhile, and have been very disappointed. The food is cooked surprisingly well. We had the crab rangoon, general tso's chicken, and an egg roll, and it was all on point. I can finally give up my quest to find decent Chinese food near by. *bubble tea sucks though, but I won't ding them for offering it.

D L.

Yelp
Food is good, in fact, they have some Chinese food that is not available in other typical Chinese Restaurants. They do a lot of take out. However, I wouldn't recommend eating in, since they are so under staff. This looks like a family business, and for many years, it is run by the family and I have never seen them hiring anyone, and this includes the pre-pandemic times. There are times, you will have to wait more than 10 minutes just to get your drink, since they are so busy answering the phone and handling the take outs. So take out, thumbs up, eat in, thumbs down for the wait time.

sindy w.

Yelp
No bad. Probably one of the better Chinese restaurants in Bensalem. Ordered the General Tso's chicken which was all white meat. Sadly over cooked or re heated too much. Couldn't eat it. I did call to let them know, employee said that they do not re heat food ?? Husband ordered the lo mein which was very good. Really liked their wontons too. If the chicken was better I would have given a 4 or 5.

Yelp
I never realized that this was located inside this strip mall. I've ordered delivery from here before and the food comes hot and the portions are fairly large. It's not my go to place for take out but I do like that they have a hurge variety of options, like Thai food. My favorite thing about this place is that they have bubble tea. There aren't a lot of places in this area that serve bubble tea let alone good bubble tea. Still not the best bubble tea, but it's only 10 mins from my house so I'll take it. Service is fast and they are really nice, and the place is very clean and tidy inside. Definitely worth checking out if you're craving some fast take out or delivery.
google avatar

Yelp
I don't understand the negative reviews for this place. I've been ordering here since they've opened and always have great food! Delivery is super fast and the food is always hot, correct and delicious. I love their garlic chicken and veggies, Asian lettuce wraps and Korean beef noodles. They also make fresh fruit smoothies which are amazing! The only cons would be the egg rolls are pretty greasy and the dumplings are a little doughy for my liking. Other than that, l enjoy their selections of authentic Asian cuisines.

Ann Q.

Yelp
Hong Kong's food is 10x better when you eat in. The fried crunchy things stay crunchy. The delicate dumplings in soup aren't mushy. They have delicious fried noodles for soup or dipping into sweet and sour sauce or hot mustard (which is fresh btw, not packets!). Free hot tea also Try the shrimp dumpling soup, yummmm I forgot how good Chinese can be because we're always getting take out. I figure that is why china town eat in's are so good. That's the secret! Don't take it out!! PS....its also BYOB

Jay W.

Yelp
Delicious meal with plenty of serving size for any appetite. I usually order the XO fried rice with mango smoothie, and I'm always not disappointed. I'm originally from LA and used to authentic Chinese cruise in San Gabriel Valley area. Glad to find this place that match my expectation of eating at a Chinese restaurant.

Yelp
Too bad I cant rate a half a star. Cant believe this place is even open for business. Ordered thru grub hub, reviews were good. Got old jellied chicken with broccoli too nasty to eat and had to throw it out. I even asked for extra hot sauce and duck sauce and got 2 of each for a $20 order. Atrocious food! Will never order from here again, stay away people

Yelp
This place deserves its business. The lady at the front always takes care of me, I don't even know her name. But we both know I like General Tso's chicken soup. I have to say, the food is outstanding, the customer service is unlike any other. The rapport I've made with a person I know not a name of is enough in itself, along with the food being delicious beyond miles, deserving of a 5 star rating, and if I could rate higher, I would. It is a remarkable place, I highly recommend a visit. Get a smoothie too, those are mad good. Thanks for all the great memories and food for so long. There's no doubt I'll be coming back again.

William H.

Yelp
Consistently good Chinese food at reasonable prices. They are happy to modify to suit your individual taste as long as you ask. Prices are not the cheapest around, but as the saying goes...you get what you pay for. They will stay as our go to Chinese place unless something goes horribly awry.

Terrance G.

Yelp
This place no I'm serious‼ food is extremely nasty I waste my Money and time because I waited for 40 min unbelievable I'm saving whoever reading this
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner for the first time after work. What a real surprise. I ordered the combination pork in garlic sauce with pork fried rice. Excellent. I also had shrimp dumpling soup. Truly great. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Rodney W.

Yelp
Have tried this place quite a few time for delivery. I get the same thing each time. Fried shrimp wonton and General Tso's chicken. I decided to eat in this time. Ordered the same thing. I found it kinda odd that the fried shrimp wonton had a burnt taste to it. There was no appearance like it was burnt, just had that taste. So I received the General Tso's chicken. That had a burnt taste to it too. I called for the waitress and informed her of this matter. I told her it taste like it was cooked in burnt oil. She told me it was fresh oil. I was thinking to myself fresh oil at 5pm. She said that multiple times that is was fresh. Then she walked away. I just left it be. I didn't want to get into it with her because my daughter was with me. Poor customer service. Will not be bothered with this place again. Any other time it was fine. 3 stars just because the food is good except for this time. Also because of customer service.
google avatar

Julie M.

Yelp
We ordered the general Chicken; Bok choy with garlic beef low mein and wonton soup. DELISH!!

E C.

Yelp
Horrible service and food is just okay. They always forget items from our order, but still charge you. When you call back, the lady always argues with you and never wants to take responsibility. We will find another place to order for office lunch. Not worth it!

Kim O.

Yelp
Cancelled my grubhub order an hour after I ordered- leaving me with no option for lunch at work as my lunch break is 12;00 to 12:30- they cancelled at 10 of 12- Also gave me no reason for cancelling
google avatar

Andrea C.

Yelp
This was my first time here and I was thrilled with the food and service, in fact so thrilled I actually took the time to write this. Why? Because when you find a hidden treasure I just have to share with everyone. I also must mention that this is my first review of anything. That is a big statement! I had the shrimp with lobster sauce with abundant and tasty shrimp. My son had the chicken teriyaki that was so tasty, I will have it next time we go. I am actually open and excited to try new Chinese food.
google avatar

Kimberly C.

Yelp
This is probably one of my most favorite places to go to eat Chinese food. I especially love the bubble tea, crab rangoon, and omg the pad thai. Just thinking about it makes me crave to go there so much. The pad thai isn't too watery or too mushy. The bubble tea isn't digustingly liquidy either, nor are the tapioca pearls stuck and mushed up together like this other place I've tried at. Overall, it's a really good experience. I've been here for quite a couple times and I'm quite familar with most of the menu, I've noticed there were different cooking styles ever so frequently, so they must've changed the cooks a couple times. I'm glad i gave them a second chance because the first couple times, i noticed some were out of proportions. But, then again that was when it just opened, now i believe they are better than ever. I can't wait to go again, next time i will definitely try a new dish.

Yelp
Love it! General Tso's is awesome! Crispy Orange Beef is divine. Fried rice is delicious! My husband loves the Hong Kong Noodle Soup. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I'm one of the regular customers at Hong Kong Star Noodle House when I'm traveling to New Jersey for business. I drive over 30 minutes to eat here with my coworkers. Why? Because it's a place where I can get good authentic Cantonese-style Chinese food. In addition, the service is great. I understand that some people may not be used to the way they cook, because they have many dishes that are not your average American-Chinese take out food that you'll find in many other places. However, the workers here are willing to listen! If you have any questions at all about how something is cooked, you should ASK. The owner will do whatever he can to make something that you like! I've talked to these guys a few times while there, and they're more than willing to keep their customers satisfied. If you're hesitant about trying new dishes, you can always go with some of their noodle dishes like their Beef Chow Fun. Otherwise, talk to them and see what they currently have as their specials. I've tried a variety of their dishes here, including their seafood dishes, their duck dishes, their noodles, their clay pot dishes, etc., and I have never been disappointed. Their restaurant is always kept clean, and their food is always fresh. I hope to keep coming here for many more months throughout the duration of my project!

Yelp
Great food and fantastic service. I can't understand why this restaurant would only have 3 stars, at the time of this review. I order from them at least once a month! The sweet and sour chicken is awesome and I love the crab rangoons! My wife loves the garlic tofu, cause she's fancy like that.

Yelp
I was out picking up my Tex-Mex take out in a restaurant located in the same strip-mall and noticed a new Asian restaurant was soon to open up a few stores down. Always looking for new, creative Asian cuisine that differs from the usual Ameri-Chinese take-out that one can find traveling a mile in any direction, I made a mental note to come back and try it out. Boy, am I glad that I did! Upon glancing at the menu available outside, I noticed that the usual pint/quart option wasn't available and the prices were leaning more towards the "specialty" pricing. This set off the warning sirens in my head but my curiosity got the better of me and my girlfriend and I waltzed right in and placed a hefty order. The crew inside were young and vibrant and extremely helpful in explaining the selections. The menu is unique and includes a great many "non-traditional" items only usually found deep inside inner-city, Asian communities. My head was reeling at the expanded amount of selections which I found enticingly pleasing to my palate. We ordered fried dumplings, chicken w/brocolli, orange beef, General Tso's chicken, and two mango-shrimp rolls. All I can say is WOW!!! The pork inside the dumplings was exquisite! It was light-tan, mildly shredded (not a brown ball of mush) and very fresh! The Gen. Tso's was wonderfully crispy with a mild tang and delectable spicing. The orange beef was rich and totally off-the-hook, easily the best part of the meal, and the chicken w/brocolli had some great sauce but the chicken was a bit too soft. I like i little firmness in my poultry but the tatse was excellent. The rolls were just amazing and I could eat them every day! It was a bit more expensive than I'm used to paying but the quality of the food was well worth it. I would've given them five stars if the chicken was a bit firmer but it was definitely worth every point on all four stars, and then some! I'll be eating there more often, to be sure and the restaurant itself was modern, spotless, and even had a BYOB option available. The website is http://hkstarnoodlehouse.com/ and the menu is right there for your perusal. I hope this restaurant lasts because there are still dozens of possibly-awesome dishes I simply MUST try in oncoming months!

Yelp
Best Chinese in the area. My husband and I frequent here. The food is fresh and doesn't have that greasy feel like other Chinese food does. Service is quick, they have a large restaurant area but normally only a couple booths are occupied as they do more delivery service. Highly recommended.

Dan B.

Yelp
Ate in, food was just as good as to go. Had a medium sized group of people with me as well. I hear their smoothies aren't great, so... encouraged people with me to not order it.

Yelp
Love the food! Fresh hand made! Good service! What else do you want! Had take out several times and eaten in for lunch. Haven't been disappointed yet! Gotta try it!

Yelp
it's was literally 3:01 and I am ordering a big order and my very last order was a lunch special. The person taking my order said it's too late for lunch special. Really? If their online web order actually worked, I would have gotten my order through.
