Where to find the best Korean restaurants in Las Vegas - Eater Vegas

"Located in the Koreatown Plaza Food Court, Hong Lou serves Korean dishes that are anything but food court fare. Even the presentation — dishes are served on china rather than in the usual food court Styrofoam — is impressive. Options include sumptuous noodle dish champong, black bean noodles, and fried dumplings." - Krista Diamond

Yelp
Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - we are back again for some warm comfort food! The spicy seafood soup is reliable but the noodles were a bit overcooked this time but the broth is oh-so-delicious. They were very generous on the octopus and the woodear mushrooms which were yummy! Ambiance: n/a - located in a food court Service: 5/5 - short and quick interaction Value for price: 5/5 - delicious food for a still reasonable price. Our comfort spot that we shall visit again!

Yelp
I grew up with Korean Chinese cuisine and as someone who really enjoys all ranges of Korean Chinese food from Jjajangmyun to palbochae, I'd say Hong Lou is the best in Vegas. From its looks, Hong Lou does not quite seem to represent what a really good restaurant should look like. But the food they serve are nothing but full of surprises. I usually get the stir-fried jjajangmyun and sweet and sour pork combo and this is something I'd definitely recommend. Jjampong is also very good if you're into spicy noodles with generous portion of seafood. This is a typical mom and pop joint where the owners are always very friendly and accommodating. If you're craving for some good Korean Chinese food, this is the place to go!

Yelp
The food is all dried up plus the owner will give you attitude if you ask for togo boxes. He said I was gratified not being charged on boxes this time but said he will charge next time.. ..???????? I was disgusted by his manner....

Yelp
Scam shop. Pay close attention to what they charge you for versus what you receive. I ordered the half and half jajang and spicy seafood noodle combo. Said it was for Togo. The owner happily charged me $14.95 for it. Then when I went to grab my bag, it felt really light. I opened it up and only saw jajang noodles, no seafood noodles in sight. I told the owner that he got my order wrong. And this is the conversation that was had: Owner: oh we can't do spicy seafood noodle Togo, so I only gave you jajang. Me: .... So you charged me $14.95 for only jajang which you have listed for $10.95? Owner: ... Me: I told you it was for Togo. Why wouldn't you tell me then? And knowing that, why would you still charge me $14.95? $16.20 with tax. Owner: ... Me: you need to give me $4 back for the difference. Owner: ...ok Can you imagine how many people they've scammed this way? Absolutely rubbish human beings.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this amazing food court by accident while getting a car wash. Ordered from several vendors and this was by far my favorite. I have revisited this establishment 2 more times and they do bit disappoint. I ordered the shrimp soup in regular and spicy, the Beef and broccoli. I was sick and had a friend pick up the shrimp soup, did not disappoint. Just what I needed to sweat out everything. The mangolian sauce neither too sweet or too thick like in many places. Also, The staff was very nice and helpful picking out some other options. It's definitely a new favorite to go spot when I'm in the area.

Yelp
was at the greenland market today and rather than heading down the street to the heart of chinatown on a very crowded sunday , decided to eat in the food court. While I've been to the market several times, i've never eaten there since i'm usually there before the food court outlet open. Today the timing was right . I chose Hong Lou which touted itself as Korean and Chinese. I just had a combo plate of Janjong meyon (Noodles with black bean sauce) and sweet and sour pork. Gave my order, paid the lady, got my "it's ready " flashy beeping thingie. about ten minutes later out comes the platter, big bowl of noodle with black beans and a take out container of breaded pork pieces. two small plastic containers of ban chan. (daikons and kimchi. Taste, every thing was OK, nothing really special will i be back? yeah , probably!

Yelp
Went to the market and saw their food court. Food was really good and enjoyed eating the fried rice with the soup. They are very generous with their meat and seafood. Put a lot of it in the entree.

Yelp
I was craving black bean noodle and the spicy seafood soup so I wanted to try this place out since we frequent this market often. I hesitated to order from this place because of all the mixed reviews, but I still decided to give this place a try to get my own perspective on it. The food itself was better than expected. I got the combo that came with half spicy seafood and black bean noodle that came with a side of kimchi, diced onions and yellow radish. I'm all about the details and I appreciated getting the variety in side dishes. The spicy seafood soup was satisfying, rich in flavor and the portions were good. Overall, a solid B. The black bean noodle was more bland than I liked- wish it had more spice to it, but the spicy seafood soup was really good. My husband ordered the shrimp fried rice which he liked but I didn't think it tasted authentic nor was it to my taste but portion seemed decent as well. I personally never expect good service when it comes to Asian restaurants and this wasn't any different. The guy taking the order at the counter never smiled or even said thank you regardless of the numerous times I thanked him. Expected? Yes. Did I hope for a more pleasant interaction? For sure. Nonetheless, the food hit the spot and I would definitely come back for more.

Yelp
Even though it's a food court, but they have the best black bean noodle and spicy seafood noodles!!! I have to go every once a while to enjoy them!
google avatar

Amy T.

Yelp
Stopped by after work because they were open later until 8:30pm. The black bean noodles and spicy seafood noodle combo was about $16 with a small cup of kimchi and yellow radish. The food was just alright and quite frankly bland. Didn't have much expectations since it is a food court type of establishment. They packed both dishes with mostly chopped onion and barely any meat so I wouldn't go out of my way to comeback.

Yelp
Just to give a quick update that this is still my go to chinese korean spot in LV! Love the convenience, food still reminds me of my childhood and the price point has hardly changed in the last few years! Still my #1!

Yelp
It's been a while since I've written a review and usually only post menu photos but this place definitely deserves a shout out. We're from Southern California so we are used to having good Korean-Chinese food and this place is excellent... especially for being located in a food court. Since there were four of us we decided to order four dishes. The portions were so big we ended up having leftovers. #41 - Combination Fried Rice was a hit. The rice was flavorful and perfectly cooked (i.e. not mushy or dry). Everyone loved the shrimp and the beef with the egg done just right. #19 - Spicy Seafood Noodle + Hot Pepper Fried Chicken was much larger than expected. The soup was a full size bowl with plenty of shrimp and seafood. I really liked the black mushrooms while two others enjoyed the noodles. All of us thought the broth was delicious and not too spicy. The sauce for the chicken was a wonderful surprise. Three of us were fighting over the last piece. #16 - Noodle w/Black Bean Sauce + Sweet & Sour Pork also had a full size bowl. ProTip: make sure to stir this up well so the sauce coats all of the noodles. We finished these noodles since they were tasty and for me just past al dente which is the way I like them. Another ProTip: if you like to keep the fried pork crispy then get the sauce on the side (see photo). This also allows you to control the amout of sauce which for some in our group likes a dab while others were practically dunking it. Either way, the sauce was a great blend of not too sweet and not too sour, just right. It also had all of good pickled vegetables and even mushrooms. #31 - Seafood Delicacies Stir-Fry definitely lived up to its name and was probably more seafood than vegetables. The shrimp were big and perfectly cooked (not rubbery like some places). There was mussels, squid, and fish which went well with the bok choy and bamboo shoots. That said, it was worth to try once but we don't think we would order this one again since it wasn't as good as the others and it was the most expensive dish on their menu. The workers were friendly and smiled even though they were swamped with phone orders. Hong Lou was so tasty that the four of us agreed to come back the next time we were in Vegas. We're thinking we might try #6 Seafood Noodle or #10 Three Seafood Delicacies Gan Jjajang.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in to try their jjajangmyun and their sweet and sour chicken combo...the jjajangmyun sauce doesn't have enough oils to stick to the noodles and as a result, you get a separation in noodle and sauce. One of the worst jjajangmyun ever. As for the sweet and sour chicken, the batter was not twice fried and as a result, the batter was soggy and all the sauce was on the bottom as it looked like they just poured the sauce over the fried chicken. Never going back. There are however, limited choices for Korean Chinese food in the Las Vegas valley.

Yelp
Location: Inside Greenland Supermarket, food court. Spring Mountain and Rainbow Parking: plenty Service: helpful Food: combination plates are a good deal. Jjampong was on point. Sweet and sour pork was crispy, not too sweet, not too sour. We will definitely make this spot on our regular list

Yelp
Good stopover at this food court, for decent jjampong rice dish. Prices on this site need to be updated, this dish was just under $14. A few notes: 1) was given only 2 options, for mild and very spicy, and went with latter. I wouldn't consider it very spicy, but it hit the spot. Some of those fire noodle places go overboard with spiciness, and not even all that tasty. 2) the dish didn't skimp on shrimp, mussels, squid. 3) the rice was served in a styrofoam dish, which was probably the least satisfying point of the order. I just plopped it into the soup and at from there. 4) the clear noodles in the dish was a nice added touch, but it wasn't all that easy to eat with the plastic fork. opted to just put it into the styrofoam bowl and eat it separately. The flavor and spice was absorbed into the noodles, so it was nice. 5) it was quite salty, i was drinking water afterwards. not positive about msg, but even if it had it, it wasn't overly noticeable. 6) food court overall offered a water cooler and a single area for returning trays.

Yelp
Every so often I make the drive from Boulder City to Greenland. During my trips I stop by the food court and order a meal from another establishment and stop at Hong Lou for Fried Mandoo. Unfortunately, yesterday's visit to Hong Lou will be my absolute last. And not because the Mandoo is bad, it is very good, it is because of the male owner. He is horrible!!! While ordering he overcharged me, and said that's the charge. When my order was ready, I went to pick it up and asked for an empty container (the one that holds the sauce) and he slammed a lid on my tray, and I told him I wanted a container not a lid. He shouted "WHY!?" I was shocked. As I was holding the vinegar bottle, I told him because I wanted a side of vinegar. And he yelled at me that it was already in the sauce, the sauce that tastes like straight soy sauce. He finally turned around a flew the container at me. Literally flew it at me. I was so upset I couldn't eat my meal. I don't know if it's because I'm not Korean but I will never again patronize this establishment!

Yelp
First time trying this Korea noodle place. I try ga-jjanjang (number 2 combo). Love it. Taste like mom's cooking. Since I don't know much about Korean food but I like the noodle and black sauces.
google avatar

Yelp
Great little place to get your jajang and jampong craves satisfied. The owners are very nice and courteous. The food is very good with nice portions. My go to place when in Vegas for jajang. Wish it was closer to the strip but worth the drive.

Yelp
CONNECTING BOTH ANCIENT CULTURES Little bit of the old world with Korean Chinese cuisine. After all they've been sharing the same border for thousands of years. Each of their best cuisines are adopted by both sides. This is my second try with Hong Lou @Greenland Food Court. My first experience was simply delightful. This second go around was simply too bland for me. They do serve to an older clientele. A combo plate will easily satisfy two diners. Plus it comes with kimchi and yellow daikon. Perhaps the next time, I'll order spicier entreès. Recommendable: Those with big appetites or need to feed two for $15.
google avatar

Rebecca J.

Yelp
This place is legit! It's located inside the Greenland grocery store. There's an entire food court and all their vendors are amazing and delicious. Hong Lou has great chinese-korean fusion dishes. Many varieties and the portions are huge!!! Literally. The bowl for jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) or jjampong (seafood noodle soup) is bigger than my head. Amazing.
google avatar

Lori N.

Yelp
This is a fairly new fast food-like joint located inside a tiny food court with just a few other Asian eateries. I was having a hankering for jajangmyeon, which I absolutely love, so what better place while in Las Vegas than Korea Town Plaza, right? Well, maybe, but not so much Hong Lou. I tried the combination special of half jajangmyeon and half spicy seafood soup noodles. I have no idea whether the noodles are actually made on the premises or not, but they claim to make it there when I inquired into this. The noodles were very uniformed in size, so it was probably machine made, if it was made on site. The half of the spicy seafood soup noodles were ok, with a good amount of seafood, given that it was only 50 percent of the whole "bowl". In addition, I found the seafood soup quite flavorful, and perfectly mildly spicy. The other half of the jajangmyeon, however, was another story. Firstly, I reiterated my request to the cashier that I wanted the black bean sauce served separately, on the side. She readily agreed, and when I got it, lo and behold, the sauce was served on top of the noodles. Unfortunately, I didn't care for their flavorless sauce at all, and now a bunch of it was smothered all over the noodles. Bad, all the way around. I come occasionally to the Korean supermarket, Greenland, which this food court is attached to, but won't be stopping by Hong Lou again. Just so many many other Korean restaurants all over Las Vegas to pay for sub par food, even at food court prices.

Yelp
A very valuable and tasty place to eat in Greenland food court operated by mom and pop! Perfect portion for you to get full. A good place to grab some good Korean dishes for lunch or dinner after work. Try their noodles with black beans sauce... Spicy or not. Both are good!
google avatar

Kimquyen L.

Yelp
This is inside the supermarket's food court. They've just opened this restaurant but it waz a good experience here. Combo: spicy seafood noodle & black bean noodles: 4 stars Flavorful & tons of noodles. There's not many korean restaurants in OC & LA that have this dish / make this dish very well so we were pleasantly pleased with this place. Tables where you sit down & eat are clean & simple.

Yelp
Hong Lou is located in the Korea Town Plaza Food Court (same building as Greenland Supermarket) in between Sakura Sushi and Hot Tofu. They specialize in Korean-Chinese food. Items tried and liked so far: Jajangmyun (Noodle with Black Bean Sauce) Champong (Spicy Seafood Noodle) Fried Mandu (Fried Dumplings) Food is fresh & delicious. Service is quick & friendly. A new favorite for my daughter and I.
google avatar

Doriee L.

Yelp
After debating to have pho for dinner or burgers for dinner, I decided that we should not do either and go straight for some jjajangmyeon. Came here with my husband and my brother after reading about Hong Lou on Yelp. I've been craving some jjajangmyeon from my favorite restaurant but it's in LA so ... I just need to find a Vegas alternative! This is located in the Greenland food court right next to Tofu House towards the back. We ordered one of their combos with jjajangmyeon (black bean sauce with noodles) and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), an order of their spicy jjajangmeyon in extra spicy, and a green onion pancake. I was so surprised that they have spicy jjajangmeyon! Most places don't have it. It was a huge portion too! And it was really tasty. They used peppers to make it spicy and it wasn't too spicy. It was the perfect amount of spice where it gave it good flavor but it won't leave your mouth burning. Their regular jjajangmyeon, however, was a bit on the bland side. It lacked flavor. The green onion pancake was good but it was a bit on the doughy side so it was thicker. Their tangsuyuk was delicious! It was fresh and crispy. I like how they always serve it with the sauce on the side so I could just dip the pork in and that keeps their crispy texture when you eat. Granted, you can always pour the sauce on top if that is your thing. I am DEFINITELY coming back for their spicy jjajangmyeon and their tangsuyuk. I also want to come back to try their jjamppong.
google avatar

David E.

Yelp
As I continue my search for the best jjajangmyun in Las Vegas, I finally made it to Greenland market at a time when it made sense to eat. I got the #3 jjajangmyun and jampong combo. It was good, and would get it again. In my opinion the jampong was better, and very good at that. It was very flavorful with an adequate amount of seafood. The jjajangmyun was ok, maybe a little better than Daebok, but it was still lacking flavor. I think it needed more minced pork to add some richness to the sauce.
google avatar

tim n.

Yelp
Very let down by this place. I've eaten in the food court at Greenland market multiple times and the food quality has been great but not at this establishment. I ordered the #3 spicy seafood combo with noddles in black bean sauce and an order of dumplings. The seafood combo (which is an interesting overly generous term for what I was served) consisted of 1 shrimp, 1 mussel, and 5 pieces of squid that were maybe an inch in length. The spicy sauce was pretty much devoid of flavor, besides spice, and the dish was pretty much just noodles swimming in spicy liquid. The black bean noodles were a little better but still very bland overall. The pork dumplings had decent flavor but when I bit one in half and looked at the contents I was surprised to see that the filling was mostly just ground noodles with a very minimal amount of meat. I asked for extra BanChan and received one little plastic cup with some kimchi in it. I don't know if this was due to the language barrier or just the obvious frugality of the restaurant owner I would not eat here again, there are better options in the food court that offer far superior food and customer service
google avatar

Joseph B.

Yelp
Pretty impressed with the restaurant. You get more bang from your buck and food is outstanding. There's a lot to choose from in Greenland, if you try this spot you can't go wrong.
google avatar

Carolyn M.

Yelp
I love stopping by here every time I go shopping at Greenland Market. I'll stop in, eat lunch and then off to shopping I go! The food is amazing. I try to try something new each time and it's never a disappointment. So today I had the seafood soup, spicy of course. This soup was amazing. Full of squid, shrimp and mussels, onions, bok choy and noodles. I ordered a side of rice, true Korean always needs a side of rice! Let me just say the portions are big, taste is amazing and you will not be disappointed! Bon appetite!!

Yelp
Hong Lou is located deep in the food court next to Greenland Marketplace. There is plenty of parking outside and tables in the food court itself, so I always find parking and usually have a table to sit at. I've gone here a few times in the past and I enjoyed what I've eaten. I've gotten a few different combos of fried rice and it's always been good. The shrimps are even cleaned of the poop for the times I've had fried rice with shrimp in it, which always bodes well. I also tried their orange chicken which wasn't the best orange chicken I've ever had, but it was still pretty tasty. Their noodles with black bean sauce was the bomb. I could inhale it with no problems. In fact, I had to tell myself to slow down so I wouldn't do just that. If Hong Lou isn't busy, they get your food out pretty quickly. If you go during a rush, then it may take awhile. I waited 10 minutes during a rush just staring at what I suspected was my food sitting on the counter without the people behind the counter calling out the order or even beeping the device I was handed. I finally just went up there to confirm it was mine. It was, and they messed up the order, but I was done waiting. The food was good after I warmed it up, but you know, go when there's not a rush.

Yelp
This Chinese place used to be our go spot everytime we visit here from out of state. After today's visit, we will not return again. We ordered 3 Jjampong, all over cook and so salty. Worst jjampong we ever had. I just don't get it. This place used to be the best in jjampong taste in my opinion. As a cook, if you don't want to eat this food, do not serve to customers period. They just don't care about quality food, too busy is the main reason. very disappointed
google avatar

Bobby S.

Yelp
Wifey was craving for some cchampong ( spicy seafood noodles) for lunch while passing by Vegas so we decided to check this place out. This restaurant is inside a Korean supermarket mall in a food court. We ordered 2 cchampongs and 1 gahn cchajang for my daughter. The cchampong didn't disappoint. It was full of seafood, perfectly spiced and hit the spot. Wifey liked the fact that it has a distinctive, "fire," taste if you know what I mean. On the otherhand, the cchajangmyun was kind of bland and yet sweet with too much onions and not enough meat but I'd definitely come back for the cchampong.
google avatar

Jeanette L.

Yelp
We've been here twice since moving back to Vegas. The food is always delicious. Jampong and jjajamyung are my goto. My kids love the orange chicken and says it's the best they've ever had. I love that they give you kimchijigae as a type of banchan? But it's so much food and it's so delicious. Service is quick.
google avatar

Young K.

Yelp
Another one of my favorites. Quick, delicious and inexpensive. I'd like to see the owner be more friendly as the couple doesn't show any customer friendliness. But I m there for the food and not to make friends. But still a friendly exchange with and smile would be nice. The food is delicious (my favorite is the spicy black bean noodle).
google avatar

Jeffrey K.

Yelp
We ordered one Gan jjajang and one Gan seafood jjajang for to go and even asked the guy if the seafood has any pork cause one of us got allergy to pork, they said no. When we got our food and came home to eat they gave us two regular jjajang. If we had eaten this my mother could of died of allergic reaction. We called them to get it changed and they said okay "we'll have it ready when you get here." Instead they are arguing how it's seafood and not see the pork.. avoid this place at all cost. Horrible customer service and lack of communication.
google avatar

Prama J.

Yelp
Tried this place today, they were busy waited for alil bit longer but thats okay. In fact it is better than the Chinese restaurant near by so i dont mind waiting. We had the jajjangmyun shared it with my boyfriend, it was so good. We also ordered their eggplant. The best eggplant! A definitely must try.
google avatar

Larry B.

Yelp
Awesome spot! I love korean style Chinese food and this place hits the spot. It tasted really homemade and with a love poured in. The garlic shrimp and the kanpungii ( garlic chicken) are amazing. I really recommend checking this out at Greenland

Angela W.

Yelp
We ordered the black bean noodle, it does not have much taste even it looks really dark, Then we figured out because the sauce is really watery this time. So we tried to ask for more sauce to add some more taste, and the owner was really stingy, and said no they could not give us with an attitude even we explained to them for what's going on. Never come back again! Very disappointed on the food and the rudeness from the owner!
google avatar

Mi S.

Yelp
Got the #3 Noodle Combo. Don't let the photos deceive you, it's a decent portion. The regular jjajang myun is good enough, and the jjamppong broth was smokey and flavorful. The seafood in the jjamppong was over cooked though. Very good deal. I want to try the gan jjajang myun next.
google avatar

Mac M.

Yelp
We're hungry from a long trip and my husband suddenly stop in front of Korean Town. No idea about this store but It was a surprise! They have the BEST seafood noodles here in Vegas!!! Come and try.
google avatar

Maulana K.

Yelp
This is a gem inside the market. I swear every time I stopped by they're always busy. We had some hot and spicy shrimp, veggie fried rice, and Mongolian beef. Service was very friendly, the taste was just right! It was better than any Chinese restaurant I've ever been too honestly. Next time I really wanted to try their jajjangmyun, my friends have been boasting about this place. Next visit a must
google avatar

Jason H.

Yelp
Restaurant quality in a food court! The fried chicken and chambong was as good as any I've had in Korea. Really enjoyed the flavor and the quality of the seafood was noticeable. My son ordered the jajangmyun and he really liked it as well. (His mom is a Korean chef so he's kind of picky when it comes to food). The only area for improvement: the kimchi left a lot to be desired and was noticeably second rate. (Sorry! Just being honest! Good kimchi is important!). Other than the kimchi everything was great though. Glad we stopped here during our Vegas trip! Best of luck to the owners. Hope they are wildly successful!

Yelp
I always come to this Korean Food court in Greenlang they have the best Spicy Shrimp, Orange Chicken. Kids love it very nice Lady in the counter. Extra Kimchi all the time. Good Eats

Amanda T.

Yelp
Very rude employee/owner. I asked him for a small ban chan side dish. He gave it to me. I went to my table. 5 minutes later the man comes to my table and angrily grabbed the side dish and took it back. So confused. I literally had the side dish for 10 minutes and he still wanted it back..... don't know if he gave the side dish to someone else. But dang. Just look at the other reviews left about the rudeness from the owners. The other restaurants seem good.
google avatar

Kelly K.

Yelp
I'm glad they have jjamja-myun since I always have hard time choosing between jjajangmyun and jjam-pong. Without a doubt, this place has the best Jjajangmyun and jjampong I've had in a long time. The jjamppong had a smoky flavor and the perfect amount of heat. Jjajangmyun had a good balance between sweet and savory taste. It was so good..I need to go back there soon!
google avatar

Steve K.

Yelp
Stopped by for quick bite without much expectation. Pleasantly surprised and one of the best jja jang myun I had.

Edwin K.

Yelp
I went to Vegas to visit my brother and we decided to come here for lunch. This restaurant had one of the best, if not the best, jjajang myun and jjampong, I ever tasted. The flavor of the jjajang sauce was on point and the jjampong had the perfect amount of smokiness and spice. We also tried the fried shrimp, which was also very good. But seriously, the noodle dishes (jjangmyun and jjampong) were the highlights for me and my brother. I was pleasantly surprised to find a good Chinese-Korean restaurant here in Vegas lol.
google avatar

H W.

Yelp
Who would have thought that a food stand inside the Greenland Market will have the best Korean - Chinese food in town??? Ordered three things to go and the food was still hot and tasted great after thirty mins thanks to careful packaging. The jjajangmyun and jjangpong were soooo good! Great place to grab a bite after grocery shopping.
google avatar

Heechan K.

Yelp
My daughter loves the jja jang myun here. For me its the jjang bong and I think its one of the best ones I've ever had. The food here is way better than actual restaurants and I hope people try this place out. Its amazing.

Yelp
Don't eat chow main from this place. Never seen anything like it. looked like they put all their leftovers for outer state people. My husband got so sick after eating at this place.
