It still doesn't hold a candle to either of the Hong Phat superstores on 82nd, but having this little satellite store basically in my own backyard has come to be a blessing over the past few years. The vegetables and produce are cheaper, and higher quality, than most of the larger grocery stores, and having a decent selection of Asian staples, from noodles to sauces, has been a lifesaver, on more than one occasion.
Inventory can be a little inconsistent, with certain items that were once stocked disappearing, sometimes never to return. With two massive supermarkets only a few miles away, this "little brother" location feels like a bit of an afterthought in the greater Hong Phat empire, relegated to housing overstock, and catering to only the most basic of needs, but for what it offers, there's really nothing else like it in Parkrose, and the same is true for almost all of NE Portland east of 82nd, other than Lily Market on Halsey.
