The 28 Best Restaurants in Quebec City, Canada | Eater

"The yakitori experts behind Honō Izakaya (also worth checking out) run this ambitious ramen-centric restaurant. The cozy, stylish, quite elegant noodle joint gives great attention to broths made from scratch and vegetables sourced from a single farm. Opt for the tori paitan with an especially rich, comforting chicken broth." - Allison Van Rassel

First time trying this ramen spot in Quebec City, but overall it was a very pleasant experience. We were seated promptly with a reservation and catered to quickly. We both got the karaage chicken as an entree and shoyu pork ramen. Both were quite good. The karaage chicken at times felt like more breading than chicken but overall very moist chicken and very tasty! The ramen was very good, noodles cooked very well, and the broth was not too salty. The pork was a little dry but the fat was rendered nicely. We also got the cold Sake (which is not on the menu but it available) and had a nice floral undertone and it paired deliciously with the chicken and ramen. Would definitely return.

Had to satisfy a craving for ramen and was really impressed by this Michelin recommended place. Tried the vegan ramen and it was superb, chock full of vegetables, plant based protein and very flavourful. The shoyu broth was exceptionally tasty and rich. Service was prompt, professional and friendly. Highly recommended.

Staff are very nice and accommodating. Ramen was delicious however I would not recommend anyone to come in the summer as there is no air conditioning and the restaurant is full of people most of the time. I almost fainted. Making all of us very uncomfortable and cannot fully enjoy the food. The reason they gave us was air conditioning is expensive. Really, I have been to a lot of ramen shop in Asia and North America never heard of this excuse. $21 bowl of ramen and you can’t give your guest a fan or air conditioning???

We arrived with a reservation and were promptly seated. The dining room is small and intimate. We sat at the long, high table. The service was a little slow but the server was very kind and patient, taking time to explain dishes to us and consider our dietary restrictions. We ordered several ramens and all were excellent. The broths were velvety and flavorful and the accompanying proteins with each bowl were well prepared and on point in terms of texture and flavor. Previous reviewers had mentioned the ramen being overly salty but I didn't not notice this aspect until maybe I was down to the dregs of my bowl with no other toppings left to consume.

I got the vegan ramen and it was really good. One of the best ramens I have had in Quebec. It has a creamy base and the vegan protein was very well cooked. My friends got meat based ramen and they said it was wonderful as well. I highly recommend.

We stumbled across this spot while wandering around, hungry and indecisive. Originally, we were going to try the izakaya next door, but the menu didn’t excite us… so we pivoted to the ramen spot with the same name right beside it. The place was packed, which gave us hope — usually a good sign, right? Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the crowd. I ordered a ramen that ended up being way too salty for my taste. Even my coworker’s ramen was a bit odd in flavor — not bad, just… not great. We also ordered the karaage (fried chicken), which was fine. Nothing memorable. Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but definitely not a place I’d return to. There are just too many better ramen spots out there to settle for “meh.”

It works to fill your stomach, but it's extremely overpriced. I came here with my boyfriend on vacation and it's just a typical tourist trap. The noodles and toppings were good, but they were saving the experience because the flavour was not complex at all and the broth was thin. I came on a date with my boyfriend who was visiting quebec city for the first time. When we were being seated, they passed by a secluded booth for two and directed us to either the bar or the kitchen counter, which were both loud and crowded. When we requested it, the employee just bluntly told us that if we wanted to sit there, there was a 1 hour time limit. After waiting 30 minutes for our $22/bowl ramen, the broth was lukewarm.

Google
This is some serious Ramen, the Shoyu broth is clearly the creation of someone who really understands the craft, the noodles were firm, and the chashu was spectacular. Also, you gotta try the canned cocktails, they are fantastic. The place has a cool vibe and a very helpful staff. If I was a local I would eat here weekly, it's that food.

Yelp
We visited Hono Ramen on a Tuesday evening in the summer with no reservations. The staff quickly seated us and were super friendly. We ordered miso ramen and Tori Paitan ramen with a side order of homemade kimchi. To our disappointment, the ramen did not meet our expectations. The broth was salty but not rich and savoury. The kimchi was just ok. We eat ramen quite frequently at other establishments, and this place was not up to par. The restaurant was dimly lit and provided a cozy atmosphere. Good for a date night but not so good for ramen meal.

Yelp
This place is cute and close to everything in saint roche. Unfortunately the ramen is not that good. The noodles are good and fresh but for good ramen you need excellent broth and the broth here was below sub par. Also there wasn't much meat in the ramen so that is a little disappointing. If they can figure out a good broth and be more gerenrous with meat this place may recover.
